  1. The promo after episode 5 promises a "shocking" conclusion of the kidnapped Arman arc.
  2. So Jorge has a disabled daughter who can be Luca's sister in the future. Meanwhile Ramona mentions family as much as Dom does in his Fast and Furious car. Even if they are hiding in plain sight there seems to be a pandemic level lack of protection surrounding Sin Cara. Especially if someone bad enough to willing to hold a ransom a family member is out in the wild. As for Luca's hearing, since when would a criminal procedure evidence being quashed stop a family court judge from working in the best interest of the child. I guess she ruled US medicine got proven wrong and the Philippines approvals was good enough for her.
  3. Is there any reason the spy couldn't flash her I.D and declare "diplomatic immunity"?
  4. I think she was definitely a Russian daughter of an oligarchs and that attracted the protest.
  5. Of course he wasn't just any guy drawing on Lord Toranaga's hatamoto but pending the surrender he was still the Lord of Izu. And wasn't in attack mode. Buntaro on the other hand almost went in when he stopped and went to make his dying request
  6. He did take a stance much like the Three Musketeers do, although he has seen the samurai repeatedly use their swords as chopping weapons. A visual learner like Lord Toranaga he is not it seems
  7. All that I got from the flashbacks was that Lord Toranaga has been at this for 46 years and when it got told the legend forgot that the boy lord was not able to cleanly euthanize the surrendering General
  8. He does seem checkmated, with us only told about brilliance as he climbed the ranks. I can only guess that while they missed Lord Toranaga's brother the rest of his army's leadership got taken out. As for Blackthorne to portray him like Richard Chamberlain would probably lead to howls about the great white savior. As an English officer and up from the ranks gentleman he can be as insufferable, just different, as Lord Omi and the other samurai.
  9. Lord Toranaga on his heels surrendering. That set up with his brother's army funneling down to the coast had me wondering where are the canon. They can't be pulling the same trick again. With the entire clan getting ready for either fight to the death, as shown by a wounded lady Fuji preparing or half the leaders will all kill themselves and Blackthorne eyeing that large galley at least the hatamoto, who is not from a suicide upon surrender society is looking for an option. Does Lady Kiku and the Willow World survive? They were in Lord Toranaga's will and let the son in for his failed ambush. But I think the rest of the army must be ready to fight while their enemy was pillowing. Poor Buntaro, his last wish is to kill the barbarian, but not his wife before dying. That Lord Toranaga allows some chaos to distract him as he tries to figure a way to get out of the noose around his army's neck
  10. I would be willing to testify in court that I have seen the basic story of the con man pretending to be a spy before, and I don't mean Bill Paxton in True Lies. But it was well done in any case.
  11. Of course the blip to hide that 40 and 50 something actors were rapidly aging out was a genius move
  12. By all indications Anjin needed to put on a public performance. While Lady Kiku read the attraction her clients held for each other and promised that what happened in the Willow World would stay in the Willow World Lady Mariko knew better and left with the "must be only you" in the room. Anjin's mission then became the writer's male fantasy, he must pillow with Kiku to take the public pressure off of the talk about him and Buntaro's wife. Blackthorne himself was a curious man before that point. Although he has been at sea for years and the Japanese have told him on multiple occasions that given his status sexual relations was freely his he was remaining mostly celibate. Only giving in to sexual desire when what he thought was a widow from a bad marriage seduced him one night.
  13. I also watch the interviewees as they often show up later as the featured performer. With Candi Staton it was Freda Payne and when Stephanie Mills popped up as Donald Lawrence's first big gig I was also shocked when she was there since I also heard her comments about Unsung. I wonder if she has softened her stance with age or the treatment of a friend by the show. What was stranger was two weeks in a row we had mention of the PTL Club's Jim and Tammy Faye Baker doing some monetary backing. I miss the pre-pandemic days when TV ONE started to marathon all the Gospel artist they had featured and BET closed the night by broadcasting the Stellar Awards show on Easter Sunday. So if Kirk Franklin, featured in the forth episode of Gospel on PBS was the child phenom introducing Hip-Hop to Gospel as sort of a musical Michael Jordan then D. Lawrence was his slightly older brother Scottie Pippen equivalent adding New Jack Swing to Gospel.
  14. As soon as not Elon showed up my mind went to a killer robot and they cast the original terminator "Cromartie" before Garret Dillahunt assumed the role on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Penny reminded me of the end of a cop show were a detective's girlfriend was the mole and the unit forgave him but still ended with "now transfer out". Just when you thought it was safe here comes the season's big bad.
  15. As with Chadwick Boseman judging by the published reactions I don't think there is anyway that they recast Arman. There is a small chance since Adan Canto also worked until the end he might have filmed a farewell performance that is being hidden from us
  16. I believe Lord Yabushige is local Lord Omi's uncle. In any case he can keep his clan on Lord Toranaga's side and considering the initial pleasure and notice that was taken with Omi after tricking Toranaga's son Omi could have a future there. So we basically have the Shogun/Taiko sitting with the Emperor in sort of a hereditary Prime Minister to King situation. The council of Regents on the next level. The larger clan Lords like Yabushige and the actor who was just risen to the council following and then Omi's level perhaps the equivalent of a local Mayor under his uncle's larger holding.
  17. No wonder he was a patrol cop on Trent last year.

    S07.E03: Capsized

Well it was set up with Maddie talking to Mexican 9-1-1 equivalent and they knew a cruise ship was off the grid. And every one was presumably out due to the hurricane

I seriously was expecting jaws to poke through a hole
  20. I just did a re watch when Tubi picked up Third Watch. I caught him on Will Trent but didn't notice him here.

    S07.E03: Capsized

An oversized Captain Phillips lifeboat, needed for the thousands of souls on board, are not cinematic.
  22. The Minutemen would have sued them if they gave the vigilantes a name.
  23. It seems to be the general consensus that this version focuses more on the Japanese compared to the stranger in a strange land of the 1980 version. Lots of folks also miss their favorite scenes from the novel when we hear characters inner thoughts. I never read the book on only remember scenes here and there from 1980. But I have seen many hours, but not the entire 40 hour runs from 3 taiga dramas set around this time frame
  24. Jorge called them border vigilantes. Not uniforms just camouflage
  25. I think that although the pitch FOX probably bought was the Argentine miniseries of cleaning from the beginning the show runner said she was inspired by Filipino foreign domestic workers. In other words Fiona's story. Being set in America her being TNT, first as a visa overstay and now by crashing the border
