Hello, catholic here. I realize this isn't the religion thread but I just wanted to clarify the above point. The catholic church does allow divorce in some cases with no bar from receiving communion, etc. This is especially true if adultery or abuse by the spouse was the cause of divorce. What the church is not okay with is remarriage; that's when an annulment is required. Now fundies, that's a different breed.....
