  1. SO I learned the expression "topping off" (did I get that right?) approximately 40 years too late. Also, Lewis, PLEASE pull up your shorts. I still think Kenya is the fugliest woman on this show. And that Cali is the prettiest (well, she's tied with Tevin). And I'm secretly in love with Shamoy. And, finally ... shut up, Bria.
  2. There's a Jason? ETA: GAH I don't know how to add this to earlier post ... sorry!!!
  3. I interpreted this as "likes to knit, crochet and play canasta." I need to spend less time online if that's what comes to mind from word "profile"
  4. The other brides are gonna dock you for making them walk from Italy to France in heels! Now, if you throw in color-coordinated flip-flops you might have a shot.
  5. I confess I still call it Shea. And I am (was, just retired) a baseball writer. And yes, medical memory issues helped lead to early retirement :/ (Hubby is a huge Mets fan and still has to correct me when I just can't remember Citi ... that said, we went up a few years ago for our 30th anniversary and the BACON ON A STICK stand behind right field is to die for!)
  6. Another NYC-born-and-bred outlier here now living in DC where the pizza sucks ... basically weaned on Mimi's and Tony's Hav-A-Pizza in the 60s/70s (oh, and Silver Moon, way long gone). NO ONE (outside of a few Jersey suburbs) can even come close to New York pizza, no matter how much they claim to ... it HAS to not only fold but then kinda sag at the tip and drip oozing greasy cheese onto the wax paper. Extra points for pizza palate. That said, I confess I turned my nose up a bit at the pizza they showed at ... Angelo's, was it? it didn't look big enough or thin enough or potentially gooey enough to me at first glance (I am such a pizza snob) ... but what I REALLY called foul on? WHO WHO WHO goes to a New York pizzeria, orders a full pizza, AND orders two YOOGE bowls of some sort of pasta (gnocchi, maybe? couldn't quite tell) to eat BEFORE the pizza? SACRILEGE!!!! I call BS. Or maybe it was just show for skinny Darcey and the crew got fed.
  7. So this. I was just like, "Eric, noooooooOOOOOOOOO!!!"
  8. I somehow missed a few Bachelor/ette seasons along the way (please don't judge me or kick me out of the frarority!) and don't remember Tia (was she Arie's season? I found him so repellant I didn't watch) but I truly find her so annoying with that irritating voice (plus not that attractive either) that I'm gobsmacked that she was ever in the running for B/ette! I must be missing something (anything) appealing about her. Also, I know the generally popular opinion about Jared was that he was handsome but I found his looks incredibly off-putting from the get-go ... something pointy and devilish about his face (not in a good way) ... I also think Evan is just a weaselly looking guy. I find it amazing those two got hot (YMMV) B'ette wives. I guess fame ho's gonna fame ho.
  9. MEMEMEMEME!!! I'm wondering how many (any?) of the old-school Bachelor/ette/Paradise Island posters are still around? A few of us actually did get together in Toronto when I went up there about ... 12? 13? 14? years ago with Little Snappy for her birthday! I think there have been some "handle" changes (I went by Jazzie Cazzie back in the day) plus I've had some medical issues that mess with my once infallible memory, but I know there are some familiar names here!
  10. Who doesn't love a nice big double spoonful of schadenfreude?
  11. I'm FINALLY almost caught up with my randomly-recorded one-hour episodes and watched (in full) my first two-hour episode (I'd tried twice before but kept falling asleep), the one with the sorority sisters in Texas (I'll gab more about that when I read other people's comments which I'd skipped until I saw it but my main response was four gorgeous weddings, not surprising with those budgets, beautiful brides, very non-snarky ... was I alone in being slightly surprised that NONE of them jumped the broom? Is that maybe a regional thing? Because we've seen it in so many of the African-American weddings on 4W: One-Hour Version ... oh, also, no mention of the fact that Bride No. 1 Sheneka is a huge video vixen YouTube star) ... BUT ... had to chime in on one thing I saw that had me almost falling off the bed, from one of the one-hour episodes (I don't remember which one because they all become a blur after a while) ... The ceremony featured a beautiful dog (a collie, I think? Looked like Lassie) as the ring-bearer. One of the guest brides noted: "He looks nervous!" I cannot believe another one did not chime in with "But you can see in his eyes how much he loves them."
  12. AGHGHGHGHGHGHGH. Memories. I was officially considered a "young adult" when, at 13, I was included in the semi-annual family shopping trip there (mom, aunt, grandmother). I still remember what I bought. And I still remember the horror of all those girdles in that dressing room.
  13. It never even occurred to me (probably because I watch it late at night) that the "random wheel of fate" is rigged because ... it HAS to be, right? When the house members could try to figure out matches for confirmation/elimination it made so much more sense BUT if the wheel is rigged to land some people in matches they'd never have considered, THEN this makes more sense. Also, obviously, mea culpa, I spoke too soon on Morgan being sweet. Never mind. I'm still TeamBrettAndCali ... and interested to see what happens with Maga and Giggly.
  14. Thank you SO much for sharing this!!! Really enlightening ... and explains a lot! I would DEFINITELY choose the quality of life that you describe in Europe over the States, but I have the 20/20 goggles of hindsight as I'm almost a senior citizen and also have chronic health problems (like you say about yours, they're manageable but if I were still working I'd probably have to file for disability in good conscience because I could no longer effectively/reliably do my work) ...
  15. Me too! I actually find myself feeling kinda sorry for him (except for the Trump stuff). He desperately wants out of Nigeria but unlike some of the other prospective fiance/es seeking their green card, he seems well-spoken and intelligent and anxious to get a legit job rather than pop out ping pong balls in a duck sick bar. I do wonder what immigration options are for some of these folks in countries other than America though ... we're not THAT great these days either (IMHO). Like, why would Jesse want to leave Amsterdam for the US? Back in the day, my grandfather actually immigrated from Russia to Montreal, not the US ... he only came here when his older brother with whom he worked in Canada opened a US factory/branch in New York. I'm not sure if he was there long enough to become a Canadian citizen, but they still had a large branch of the company/factory there at least through my teens because I used to go up there every spring with my grandparents when he'd visit them and we'd go out for dinner with the employees (they made flavors for major ice cream companies here as well as scents for major perfume companies and I'd get to taste all the flavors they were working on ... the good old days :) ) I wish I could be a Canadian citizen :/
  16. Razzberry, can we assume the guy you worked with was NOT D'Angelo?
  17. I know there have to be at least a few people on this thread, possibly with different screen names (like myself, mainly because I first created one under my old name here on PTV then couldn't remember my password so just created new one, not because I wanted anonymity) or possibly my poor swiss-cheese-hole-filled brain is just not remembering them, who, like me, were addicted as much to the TWoP thread for both Paradise Hotel and Temptation Island as we were to the show ... the "likes" on my subtle call-out on a post here leads me to believe others remember the good old days of Charla and Dave and fans who sent them roses. And crazy bug-eyed "Yahtzee" Toni! Now that there's a TV network devoted solely to reruns of old game shows, why-oh-why is there not a similar reality show network? I know I'd love to be able to re-bingewatch Temptation Island, Paradise Hotel, the old Bs and Bettes (the MeredIan season especially) and Bips and, especially, Show Biz Moms and Dads and Toddlers and Tiaras!!!!! (Though I think one of our kind and benificent PTV lords might tear his hair out before he'd allow it since he did give us a time out on one of those threads ... T&T I THINK but maybe SBMaD) ... I still have my Shane Klingensmith: Big in Belgium T-shirt. I'm gonna go off now and Google the Nutters ... ETA: Well, THAT didn't take long! https://www.stowetoday.com/this_week/theater/brigadoon-reappears/article_6a8143c2-72e9-11e7-abd1-97ad81068d3e.html
  18. I'm wondering if it's about Michelle writing the book and/or the plot of the book/the GSK/or it will combine the plot of how she investigated the EAR/ONS/GSK for the potential book AND the story of her death and how the book was finished. It has a lot of potential to be fascinating in so many ways.
  19. I know, right? But ... that said ... as much as it looked like she was wearing a badly-dyed mop on her head, when one of the mean girls called her out for her crappy weave, I felt bad for her because she was one of the sweetest girls there by that point (and I don't know much about hair but I thought she said something along the lines of 'It's not a weave, it's tracks' ... does that sound right?) I'm fascinated and repelled at the same time. Plus she has that putty-like nose that looks like she could just take it off. I feel bad about her backstory (the blind parents etc.) but she's just the definition of a butterface. And clearly a nutjob. There's someone she reminds me of but I can't put my finger on it (maybe because I'm still too distracted trying to figure out who Jubilee on BIP reminds me of ... I THINK it's a black Miley Cyrus but not sure).
  20. I'm guessing my opinion is not THAT unpopular since "getting Tamyra'd" is an AI-TWOP/PTV verb.
  21. I confess I found her really unattractive (from the neck up) ... it's like she modeled her face out of putty. There was just something weird and waxy about her. Tevin is beautiful (the Clinton of this season) but by the end of those two hours he was sort of getting on my nerves. Pretty only takes you so far. I am rooting for Brett and Cali to go all the way. They're beyond cute and seem almost ... dare I say this ... normal? Bria HAS to be a plant. As someone else mentioned, no way she passes the psych eval. I don't look for spoilers and I don't think they even exist, but I do wonder about this from people who have watched the show for several years (I got into it two seasons ago thanks to Little Snappy turning me on to it) ... HAVE they ever sent someone home because they just went nuts (or for any other reason)? And if so, how did that affect the balance or how was it handled? If this is not a spoiler, apologies and I'll unspoil it but figured better to be safe than sorry? It seemed borderline as a coming attraction and I didn't know the rules on that!
  22. Am I the only person who thinks Jubilee looks like a black Miley Cyrus? I hadn't noticed the resemblance last time I saw her on BIP but it struck me this week (with the caveat IMHO that she is MUCH more attractive than Miley ... I just oddly see it and now can't unsee it) BTW, just watched the season premiere of Are You The One? on MTV and that crew makes this crew look completely sane and drama-free.
  23. The TWoP thread was pure gold. Or periwinkle.
  24. This. For all we know, Wills was chat-chat-chatting away every night with people they didn't show us. Nyesha who? At least we got a little Eric-dancing but I think he's short-run as well. They knew who they wanted to focus on (maybe because they knew who was going home, maybe for drama, maybe because they still want to force Colton down our throats as next bachelor) and the rest simply didn't exist when editing time came around. Because either they HAD been together and just not shown or ... well, maybe another reason but I can't quite ... put ... my ... finger ... on ... it. :/
