What in the heck was that pairs competition I watched at the U.S. Championships? I hadn't realized that pairs skating was a dying art in the U.S. Am I correct that how the teams do at the World Championships this year determine how many teams we can send next year?

Kids Baking Championship - General Discussion
SweetSable replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Kids Baking Championship
Did anyone watch the 2nd episode last night? I thought it was a ridiculous challenge, and that none of the kids did very well. Not the best group of bakers the show's had. -
She probably isn't one note but for some reason that's all the editors want us to see. And I'm on her side- I think Bruce is annoying as hell.

I hope his husband tells him he’s a dumbass. MY husband told him he was a dumbass. Well, if yelling at the TV very loudly counts as telling him . . .

I hated the turtle neck too but I really liked the rest of his design/painted fabric. I presume he went rather than Laurence because he's been in the bottom a lot and she' been in the top a lot.

I've never understood the appeal of jumpsuits or rompers for this very reason.

I also thought of a poodle - glad someone else said it! And I don't even like that look on poodles.

I'm sure he does but some of it gets edited out.

Summer Baking Championship - General Discussion
SweetSable replied to RealityCheck's topic in Summer Baking Championship
John made a cake which was completely against the rules of this challenge - that alone is good enough reason to send him home. Rainbow Flag Created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, the iconic Pride Rainbow flag originally had eight stripes. The colors included pink to represent sexuality, red for healing, yellow for sun, green for serenity with nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony and violet for spirit. In the years since, the flag has been reduced to six colors: the flag no longer uses pink, and the turquoise and indigo have been replaced with royal blue. I was hoping someone would do a tie-dye decoration using the flag colors. -

The new season of Project Runway All Starts starts June 15th. I was scrolling through the list of contestants and was thinking it would be a good season, until I saw Hester Sunshine on the list. Hopefully she'll be one of the first to leave. https://tinyurl.com/4emmyxn6 -

A purse sitting on the counter was very out of place - it would have jumped out at me, too. -
Were they limited in where they could shop? If so, sweetbreads may not have been available at their only shopping options.

What is Carolina Treet? Apparently Carolina Treet is a brand of North Carolina style barbecue sauce. I've never heard of it but NC style BBQ sauce is my husband's favorite, so I might just have to try it. https://tinyurl.com/2p8emzkr

I LOVED Dick Button's commentary. I still miss him.

Kids Baking Championship - General Discussion

These kids have their own businesses whether they're on this show or not. I much prefer watching them than the season of "the youngest bakers ever!" I still wish they'd do a season of just 13-17 year olds. -
If the third place contestant hadn't wagered in FJ I'm pretty sure he would have won by a few hundred dollars.
-
I don't remember the clue but the answers in that category were homonyms for people's names, right? Wane/Wayne
-
I really enjoyed TC Family as well and yes, the kids were definitely the ones in charge. And except for the mother and daughter who screamed at each other all the time, the contestants were enjoyable. I didn't for the life of me remember the cheftestant Sarah chose as her sous chef. And now I have to find some way to incorporate acorns into a dessert.
-
I thought it was cool and a little creepy at the same time.
-
Me too, and I'm so disappointed. Maureen is really working my nerves. I immediately got Lizzie Borden for the FJ. When I get an answer that quickly, I presume all of the contestants will too, so I had hope of getting a new champ.
-
I do too, which is why I'm disappointed this season is in Houston. We already had a Texas season and I don't need to see more beef/BBQ challenges. And the first Texas season was awful. Wish they had gone somewhere different this season.

We need a season where all of the models are this.
