  1. Well it's official. I'm done with this show. Still haven't caught a single episode from the beginning. Keep forgetting it's on Tuesday nights. Last night I didn't even remember until about an hour after it had aired. None of these women interests me except Lisa V. And I can learn everything I need to by following her on Twitter. The bickering, the pettiness, the fake EVERYthing. I'm over it. Y'all carry on. I'll be over on the House Hunters forums or maybe Undercover Boss. Stop by and say "hey" if you like. lol
  2. This is what Teresa Guidice claimed, using it as an excuse for building a brand spanking new home. And yet, she survived several months in a jail cell with the accompanying lack of privacy. lolol Sorry to be redundant but I just can't get past the sense of entitlement these people have. Do they even realize how many people in this world sleep on the ground, have no running water, etc., etc.? Entitled assholes.
  3. Ah yes, thank you for this list! I have found my people! :o) Such entitlement and so many unrealistic expectations. If any of these buyers ever has to go through a legitimate real-life crisis (death in the family, bankruptcy, whatever), I fear they will actually fall apart! Toughen up, people! Grow up. Be grateful for what you've been given instead of demanding more and more and more and more and more. (Is there an emoticon on this site for barfing in your mouth a little?)
  4. You have a point, Neurochick. I lived in 400 square feet of space in downtown Chicago for 10 years, with three cats and a dog. We managed just fine. It's all about designing and managing your space efficiently, being realistic about what you need vs. what is merely a convenience. That's why I enjoy this version of House Hunters. I look at most of these spaces and think, "Yeah, I could do that!" And all those comments about "It's so tiny!" or "I need more storage/larger appliances/whatever," well that just defeats the purpose of moving to a tiny house. I also love looking at the spec living spaces at Ikea. One of the most brilliant spaces I ever saw was less than 300 square feet. It incorporated absolutely everything someone would need (note: I said need...not want lol). It's so inspiring to me.
  5. Kyle isn't happy unless someone is apologizing to her. ******************************************************************** THIS! I have never seen a person's behavior boiled down to a single descriptive sentence as clearly as this! It tells us every single thing we need to know about Kyle, her insecurities and her motivation for every single thing she does. Of course, YMMV. :o)
  6. A good Realtor will stay in touch with all past clients. Satisfied past clients are the best source of referrals for others looking to buy or sell. Also, I know a Realtor who has been in the business for about 40 years. A quarter-century ago, she sold a home to one client. 25 years later, that same client was ready to sell. Guess which agent she called to take the listing?
  7. Yeah, I remember some of the contestants from the early seasons. They definitely had the voice but not necessarily the whole package. And back then, that was the concept of the show. You know...the VOICE. Not the package. Not the platinum hair. Not the sequined boots. Or whatever. I'm sad that this show has succumbed. Instead of being a leader it has become a sheep, merely following the trends that are already set. I knew it was over when Blake made some comment this season about how Gwen would probably keep one of her team members because she needed a rocker chick -- someone to fill that slot. As if there were a formula and the contestants had become cogs in the great Voice marketing wheel. I still watch this show. I still prefer it over American Idol times infinity. But the show has lost its innocence. And so have I. Color me sad.
  8. Gwen is so disappointing as a coach. She keeps focusing on makeovers rather than vocals. Yes Gwen, you convinced two people to dye their hair and a child to get an unattractive blowout. You are a great talent. *********************** Yes times infinity. Take the most quirky, unique performer left in the group and attempt to turn her into a Mini Me. Epic fail.
  9. The most recent sale for a comparable Coto property was $2,180,000 on May 21, 2015. Interior square footage for this sold comp is 2,000 square feet smaller than Jeana's. It has 5 bedrooms vs. Jeana's 8, 16,000 square foot lot vs. Jeana's 43,500. She's got a huge back yard....make up your own punch line. :o) So obviously Jeana's property should command a higher price because it offers more. But $3,899,000? The fact that the listing expired speaks for itself. Again, this was the CLOSEST sold comp I could find. That's my disclaimer and I'm sticking with it. :o)
  10. I researched listings for expired single-family homes in Coto de Caza yesterday (yeah, I'm a Realtor). My team leader just sold a $1million+ home down the road from Jeana's place. He wanted me to see who else might be looking to sell in that neighborhood. Looky what I found... Jeana's place was for sale -- AGAIN. And the listing expired -- AGAIN. lol Her property has an interesting sales history: Listed in 2009 for $5.5million. Listing was cancelled. Listed again in 2010 for $4.9million. Listing was cancelled. And then this time around, listed for $3,899,000. Listing expired last Wednesday, Oct. 7. Based on the full listing history it seems that Jeana figures if it sells, it sells...whatever. Otherwise I think she'd get serious about pricing aggressively and then work to find a serious buyer.
  11. I was remembering the meeting Tamra had a few episodes back with her brokerage. They said she was expected to sell three properties in the first six months if she wanted to keep her license with them. She mumbled something about a possible lead in Crystal Cove, but nothing else more concrete. OK, so today was a slow day and I didn't have much else to do. I looked up "Tamra Barney" on my area MLS. That's the name she uses for her real estate dealings. I requested results for the last 365 days. I then requested sales for listing agent as well as selling agent. NADA. Not one sale in the past year under the name Tamra Barney. lolol I realize the MLS might allow her broker to list her sales under another name to preserve privacy. Which is kinda ironic if you think about what attention hogs these reality "stars" are.
  12. So Tamra is toying with the idea of "getting back into" real estate (as if she were ever serious in the first place)? Just out of curiosity I checked to see if she's kept her license active. Horror of horrors: she hangs her license at the same company I work for -- albeit different offices. Interesting to note that the name she uses is Tamra Sue Barney.
  13. So Andy claims the drama is real because the housewives they cast are volatile? Here's a thought: don't cast hot-tempered prima donnas and then maybe there would be less table flipping and more organic opulence to ogle and more enjoyable outings for the wives. Except...silly me: Cohen knows full well that drama is what makes rantings (that was a typo but I decided to leave it!). And RATINGS make money for Cohen. The more badly his cast behaves, the more money they all take home. God forbid good taste and decent values should ever outweigh a big paycheck. Today, June 7, is the last day I can get the Bravo network for free from my cable company. I'll have to change my viewing habits. But perhaps it's high time I did. So long, Andy. Thanks for destroying a good percentage of my brain cells for the last 7-8 years.
  14. Couldn't believe my ears on last night's episode featuring a mother, her daugher and son-in-law who jointly owned a home. The daughter refused to give an inch, to respect anyone else's wishes or opinions including her mother's. During a private conversation the mom told her to stop speaking so disrespectfully to David. Daughter's response? "He works for us. He needs to know when he's not giving us what we want!" Uh, whatever happened to simple human decency no mater what the relationship? Was this for the show? Was she trying to be the first homeowner of table-flipping proportions? I guess it worked. Because I remembered her antics. And now, here I am on an internet message board, talking about her. Hope she's happy with herself. :o/
  15. Thomas and Kathryn are interesting TV. But if they left? We've still got Shep and Craig for hilariously comic relief. Their interplay, especially on last night's episode, was great fun! Craig may be hopelessly stuck in Peter Pan mode which annoys me to no end. But he sure is fun to watch with Shep.
  16. CTO, on 11 Apr 2015 - 9:23 PM, said: Beverly Hills is no more for me. Though not quite a smoking gun, wouldn't that be something if it was announced on Part 3 that this is the last season for BH? It would put all of us out of our self-inflicted misery, for our own good. I'm done with BH if Kim is back. I think Brandi will be back and will dial down her 'tude because Andy has probably suggested it. She can afford to as Rinna is there to take over as resident trash mouth. She certainly seems willing and able. Are the RHOBH trashier than RHOOC?? There's a question for Andy's viewers. I think they might be. **************** Sorry for the sloppy copy/paste job. Couldn't figure out how to use the site to do it property. Anyway... On May 4, my local cable provider is tightening up the list of channels it offers at no charge. Big surprise, they are taking away two of the ones I watch most: Bravo and HGTV. At first I was super-disappointed. No more Housewives? Quelle bummer. But then I realized how much brain damage these shows cause, how much free time they eat up. Maybe I should take this as a signal from the universe and run, run, run from my TV. You know: actually have a life in the 3-D world around me. :o) I'll stick it out with RHofBH since they are wrapping up. After that, I too am done. Enough trash. Enough four-letter words. Enough posing. Enough scheming. Enough dysfunction (good riddance, Kim Richards especially). I'm done with all the damage you tried so hard to inflict on my intelligence.
  17. Clooney said he comes from a family of alcoholics and/or recovering alcoholics. He was concerned that he might be predisposed to addiction to the painkillers.
  18. "We'll be right back with more news and Les Nessman."
  19. Wow, this is a real YMMV moment. :o) This is precisely why I love "Mom." It's real. Rather, it doesn't rely on resolving everything neatly in a 24-minute episode each week. Ends are left untied. Relationships blow up. The characters have to deal with whatever life (or Lorre) throws at them. I find the writing to be very sharp and mostly realistic. And so very darkly funny!!! Allison Janney is, imho, a goddess. I never watched The West Wing. But I practically LIVE to see her on Mom. So funny. So twisted! lololol Yes, I'll miss Alvin terribly. But I think the show will work better with Bonnie as a singleton.
  20. Thank you, Umbelina. THIS, exactly.
  21. In other words, a look into the real lives of Beverly Hills housewives! What a genius idea for a TV series! :o)
  22. I finally caught up to this episode yesterday afternoon. My goodness, so much ado about (imho) nothing! What I saw was nudging from Ken and Lisa, and pulling away from Max. In other words, the natural relationship as kids grow up and begin to separate themselves so they can build their own lives. With a little passive aggression thrown in for good measure. :o) No kid is perfect. No parent is perfect. There is certainly no manual that gives specific instructions on how to raise the perfect child. Given that, I think it's pretty awesome that Ken and Lisa seem to be batting .500 with their kids. Max is still a work in progress. So what? I have read so much extrapolation and speculation here, based on...what? Lisa and Ken have a parenting style that doesn't resonate. Doesn't mean they don't care. They are just different. One thing that has always struck me about the British sense of humor is how very cutting it is. They see it as humor; we see it as insulting and calculating. I finally realized that, to a large extent, it's a cultural difference. I hear it in how Lisa speaks to Ken, to Rocio, to/about Max. Even to Pandora, the supposedly perfect child. As far as who loves whom and how much, I have two indelible memories from Season 1: Lisa's hands-on care of Giggy. She was shown bathing him while Lisa explained his medical condition. I also recall some of her first TH comments about Max and how very much she loves that boy. She had to take a moment because she was overcome by tears. That, as far as I'm concerned, was reality.
  23. Ahhh, so it wasn't just me? I only caught the last15 minutes of the episode, but was repulsed by the UB. Especially how he treated Jessica. That girl gave him exactly what he deserved. I was so impressed at how she managed to make some extremely valid points about his lousy management skills (observing how absurd it was, expecting her to rely on someone who had FIRED her, to help her get another job), about how unrealistic he was to think anyone would want to work there forever. I hope someone with great influence was watching that show. I hope they noticed how insightful she was. I hope they offered her a job based on her TALENTS and not her appearance, or her desire to wiggle her naked body around in public. You go, Jessica. You probably did yourself one of the biggest favors of your life by going off on that creep.
  24. This is a small thing and probably of no interest to anyone except me...and other OCD California Realtors who may be reading this. :o) Shane signed off his blog entry with Shane Keough DRE#01958294 For Real Estate or Venture Needs Shane, honey, it hasn't been the DRE for nearly two years. It's BRE. Except for some legal reason you're not even supposed to use BRE. Just say "CA Real Estate License # 01958294. Also? I admired the effort he put into writing the thing. But it read like some rich kid who THINKS he's trying really, really hard. Shane has no idea what real hard work is. And he likely never will. For kids like Shane, it's all about who he knows. (Oh okay, whom.) Mama Jeana will keep feeding him real estate leads. And the soulless, fame-whoring boys and girls of the OC will think it's ultra-cool to have a celebrity helping them buy their first mini-mansion. You'll be fine, Shane. Quit yer bitchin.
