  1. I ran my numbers since I started in September. October and November have been record breaking. Don't get too excited, it's only $300k in sales and the top areas are at nearly $2M but after I had a good chat with my old boss, new boss and one of my top cheerleaders I feel a little better.
  2. When I moved into my first or second apartment (without a roommate) my mom bought me an ironing board and ironing pad. I think I've used it twice in 2 decades. I can iron and I have an iron, I just don't. I should start though, it will make some of my clothes look nicer.
  3. Never yell for "someone" to call 911. Always point to a person and say "you, call 911" otherwise the bystander effect will continue.
  4. When I first got to my new office building my actual office wasn't clean and ready. Sure, there was IT equipment but there were boxes and crap from the prior resident. That is a huge pet peeve of mine. Have the workspace clean and ready for the new tenant, especially if they are new to the company. IT should provide a new keyboard, mouse, ear pieces for any headsets and clean the monitors & phone. The manager, or facilities department should wipe down / dust the desk and empty out the cabinets and drawers of all things not needed by the new tenant. Anyway, my boss facilitated an office move for me, so I am no longer sitting in the closet / freezer that was my old office. New office was full of old IT equipment from the previous tenant. I boxed it up (and moved myself) but now IT is dragging their feet at collecting it. In addition to my new office not being a freezer, I now have a window and am sitting near another team; a dramatic team with a poor leader, but at least I'm near people and not so isolated. I found out from my old boss (which I already knew but he confirmed) that every office in my old area is a freezer. The facilities guy said he asked the HVAC team to come out but when I followed up on it he just made excuses. I asked them to close off, or move the vent and that was denied. It was after that my boss said to move me. So, yay! I also talked with my old boss, mostly for a pep-talk and while he'd love to have me back, things aren't as awesome as they were when I left. The awesome VP that led the charge of having fun work environment took a promotion and is now in a different area over a different group.
  5. I have the 6QT 6 in 1 DUO and LOVE IT! Whichever model you choose, take the time to read the instructions and accept that there is a bit of a learning curve.
  6. I don't typically give my kitties boosters. I had to before I moved but I won't be getting them annual boosters here. The kitten-cat has some major allergy issues that require a steroid shot a few times a year. It's not that great for him so I don't want to stress out his system more than needed.
  7. The kitten-cat's new favorite activity is chasing the static sparks on my bedspread in the middle of the night. He was going to bat-cat crazy last night that I thought he brought in a toy to play with. Nope, just chasing the static sparks on my bed.
  8. I hate all the holiday movies and TV show themes. Not everyone has a family, not everyone has friends who remember they are alone and invites them to Friendsgiving or Friendsmas but that's not feel good TV.
  9. Experiences may vary. I hate shopping more than needed so I love Amazon and have never had less than a great experience with their customer service reps. It probably helps that I only do the online chat sso the rep can read my issue. I've never noticed that items cost more without it and often the daily essentials cost the same, or less than Target and show up at my door. Personally I like reviews and am haopy to write a brief summary of things I love or hate so others can make an informed decision. Same reason I'm a fan of Yelp.
  10. 90 minutes until I my flight boards, 120 minutes until it departs and 4.5 or so more hours until I can see my kitties. I got some good pets in with my cat that lives with my parents (he's really their cat) but I miss my boys so much!
  11. My dad gets calls from his grandkid who is stuck in jail, usually in Mexico. He’ll ask judgements, probing questions before informing the scam artist that he has grand cats and none of them can speak
  12. Today was Revolution day in the theredhead77 household. First up was 3PO, he squirmed and ran so most of it ended up all over his fur. He then spent the next hour looking like he was contemplating murdering me in my sleep. But I think he's OK now. Schrodinger was more cooperative and we're done for another month. Edit: 3PO must have forgiven me since he's curled up being a purr factory on my lap.
  13. I typically called Hi [name], this is theredhead77 and I am calling to follow-up on my interviews for [position]; I am super excited about the opportunity to [something] and am wondering when you will be making a decision. If I had to leave a message I always immediately sent an email "Hi so and so, I just left you a voice-mail to follow up on..." Granted, the recruiter I was dealing with was super bad at his job, I learned that it was a small miracle I got any communication at all but the persistance, on top of the thank you notes showed I was super interested. During the interview process I always asked what their time-line is to make the decision. I started the interview process at the beginning of November and received the official offer right before or right after Christmas.
  14. I was hired at the company I currently work for because I was constantly following up.
  15. That woman needs to make friends with the Starbucks app or go inside. I rarely go through the drive-through, I think the last time I did I was at In n Out and posted here about it. It's usuallly faster to go inside.
  16. My boss sent me a very nice 'happy holiday email' with a note that I'm doing a great job and the area is lucky to have me.
  17. I don't have an issue with Father Gabriel not killing Negan in cold blood despite the atrocities Negan has committed. Gabriel is a Priest, after all. He may have killed at the satellite outpost but that doesn't mean he doesn't regret his choice and won't do it again. I'm sick of Negan and Negan is ruining JDM for me but Gabriel is one character that I would never expect to kill Negan unless it was straight up self defence.
  18. 1) Why would you even entertain that message if you aren't looking for FWB? 2) Sounds like a major fishing message with minimal effort on his end (copy / paste and wait for the ladies to respond about themselves) Delete and move on.
  19. Back when we had a small gathering of 6 (me, my parents, my cousin and his wife & daughter) my mom did the cooking (my cousins wife can't boil water) and while I tried to clean up my mom and cousin's wife (I suppose she is also a cousin) would shoo us out of the kitchen while they cleaned up. In past years it's just been me and my parents. I'd make a jello dish at home and mix up the green bean cassrole at my parents house when I got there. I suspect this year I'll be tasked with making the jello dish Wed night, mixing up the green bean cassrole a few hours before dinner time and told to stay out of the kitchen the rest of the day. I do the dishes except for the turkey cutting board. I could never clean it to mom's expectations so I gave up. My dad has some health issues and helps as he can but it's easier if he doesn't.
  20. @Random Noise What is that white stuff? Did someone spill a load of flour on the ground?
