  1. Actually, lots of people do tell men to cover up their big bellies on the beach. They just don't listen. I think Shannon does look great, especially if she is being honest in the fact that she doesn't work out at all. I would say she lucked out in the gene lottery pool if she can look like that at 50 with no exercise. The fact is, however, that David looks amazing. Shannon would look much better if she had on a one piece. Not only would it make her look slimmer, she would look younger as well. It might suck to high heaven, but it's just the truth.
  2. I know none of them were popular, but I knew I would miss Jacqueline, Caroline, Kathy and the gang and I already do. Regardless of what Bravo wants this season to be about, it will at the end be about Teresa and Joe and their crimes. It will be emotionally taxing even for those of us who cannot stand her (my hand is raised very high here) and want to see them rot in prison. It is basically the end of a journey, and something that most of us suspected would be the result when we saw her wondering around her gaudy mansion with seemingly no idea how the money was made (a money tree in the backyard anyone?) in S1. All of this stuff was tied to the folks who are no longer on the show. Caroline saying in her TH in S3 that someday "someone would have to go away" and Teresa would write a best selling book, be brave for her kids, and divorce Juicy. Jacqueline confronting Teresa on the tabloids and the comments in some of them that Teresa was afraid of going to jail. Teresa then telling her she was nuts, because there was zero chance she would ever go to jail. Kathy saying in her first season that one of the reasons she and Teresa no longer got along was because Rich hat tried to speak to them about their finances years earlier when it looked like they were out of control and Teresa resented his intrusion. All of these people have been involved in the story from the beginning, and the story will never be as interesting without them being part of it's conclusion.
  3. The thing is that she didn't need a storyline because she is a "friend of". Even with that, she made the more of her role than did any of the ladies on the show this season. She might not have had a storyline, but did anyone else? Ramona's daughter is going to school, but we have only talked about that in any real way for 3 or so episodes. I guess her story could be that she is the biggest bitch in the franchise, which she seems to be more than fine with. More than likely there were all kinds of issues with Mario when this was being shot, since the rumors started being mentioned last July that he was hanging out at the Hampton's house with his gal. Ramona didn't seem to want to air that dirty laundry, and pretended to be a happy wife who believed her husband would sing any song to her. Instead of talking about her personal life this year, she decided her story would be that she can actually be nastier than we have seen in the past, and went batshit crazy this season. Better than letting folks know her marriage was in trouble. How about Heather? She had big stuff going on in her life this year - both the lawsuit and her child's health. Both were mentioned for an episode or two, then nothing. Maybe she didn't want to show it, or maybe Bravo edited it out for various reasons (just like they did Lu's stuff). Carole had a few things going on with bookgate at the beginning, but nothing since. Aviva has barely even been on the show. Lu has shown herself to be more charming, funny but still snarky in her TH interviews, she inserts herself just enough in all the drama, but then steps away before it gets ugly. She has played her role perfectly and quite frankly, I wish they would add more than these types of characters in the future.
  4. Completely agree with you. I love to cook - it is my passion above all other things, but I understand that it is not just for everyone, which I have no issue with. What surprised me about Kristen with her kids on the first episode was it looked like they were eating hot dogs or something simple, yet the nanny seemed to be the one taking care of it. It was no gourmet meal, just her feeding the kids a quick bite. It was surprising to me that someone who is for the most part home all day (I get that she works sometimes) would want/need someone to do such a simple task.
  5. Yea, the very first episode when we were introduced to Kristen she had her nanny getting the kids dinner ready. I had a WTF moment because I couldn't understand why someone was incapable of doing such a simple task.
  6. People feel passionate about this topic. Heather clearly knows that. She should have done what she wanted and not tried to justify her actions. I find it hard to judge her, however, as I have faced my own battles with a few friends over the very same issue. A couple of my girlfriends will literally judge a person based strictly on this one trait - you rescue a dog you are good. You buy a dog, you are bad. It is very simple to them and it drives me nuts. Most of my dogs have been shelter dogs, but when my kids were younger and I got a Lab from a breeder, they acted like this meant I was not qualified to even have a dog. Please. But then I also have a co-worker who thinks that anyone who has a biological child is selfish considering the number of kids looking for good homes. You are never going to make everyone happy so fuck em. I agree that this was an opportunity for Heather to teach her kids a lesson, but she can still teach her kids a lesson. They can properly train and care for the dogs, they can love them and provide care for them. They can learn to understand that they are members of the family and should be treated as such, not given away if they don't turn out to be exactly what they were hoping for.
  7. That is too bad and I am more than a little shocked. I have met him many times because we both work in the food industry, and he is widely regarded as one of the most charming and kind people anywhere. I have literally never heard anyone say a bad word about him. Trust me that I cannot say the same thing about very many celebrity chefs that I and people in my industry have come across (oh, the stories that I will never tell). So many are regarded as ego-maniacs, but it is kind of the nature of that particular business. I guess everyone has a bad day, but trust me, if he came over to your table he would charm you like crazy.
  8. Maybe this has already been discussed, but does anyone know what Shannon was doing before she married David? She is 49, and they have been married for 14 years. That means she got married when she was roughly 35 years old. I know she graduated from USC, I would assume when she was 22 or 23. What was she doing for the next dozen or so years? I cannot even believe I am typing this, but is it possible that she has never had a job or any type of career at all? I have looked all over the place, and can find nothing to indicate that she has ever done anything at all. I think that is extremely strange. Then she gets married, and she has nannies for her kids (I think she has two). It seems to me that Shannon has just been taken care of her entire life, and her expectations are extremely unrealistic. I also wonder if there is more to it. She seems incredibly fragile to me. Like she could snap at any moment, and is unable to handle even the smallest bit of stress. I wonder if she has always been fragile and unable to cope and that is the reason for no career? If anyone knows different about those missing years, I would love to hear about it.
  9. It sounds like there is a manner in which a charge can be dismissed after the requirements of the sentence have been fulfilled (probation, fines, etc.) According to the article below, which references the Penal Code Section in the Stoopid HW article, it doesn't erase the criminal record, but the finding of guilt is changed to dismissed. http://www.recordgone.com/statutes/california-penal-code-section-1203-4.php
  10. That absolutely was not Kyle's best moment. But the reality is, she probably agreed with the very true words that Faye was saying about Brandi. Adrienne and Faye are good friends as well (Faye dated one of Adrienne's brothers, cousins or something years ago). She felt like she had every right to have an opinion about something terrible that Brandi had just done to Adrienne. Kyle should have shut that down, but the fact is Brandi was in the wrong. We have seen before and since that it seems to be hard for these gals to shut this shit down. For example, Lisa sitting mute (or laughing) while Brandi went after Joyce, when Joyce, unlike Brandi in a similar situation, had done nothing wrong at all.
  11. I agree with this. When I was watching some old episodes, I was surprised to see how often Faye was in the background at various events in S1 and S2. One of them was one of Lisa's Charity deals (the one where Camille sent a text to Kyle effectively firing Mauricio). Since it was Lisa's event, it looks like she had invited Faye. I think she was around a lot but we never heard boo from her until she was auditioning for the show (except of course at Camille's dinner party). I don't like Faye for reasons that have nothing to do with the show. On the show, I had no issues with her because I agreed with every single word out of her mouth, and I think she has proven to be correct on most things. Her delivery and timing sucked, but the timing of drama always sucks on this show - do it at dinner or on vacation - that is the contrived formula. It seems like she is a long time, good friend of Kyle's, and Kyle stuck by her even when folks were brutal towards her. I remember even Lisa V and Brandi saying that Faye was getting death threats. Kyle didn't drop her despite the fact that everyone in the US and abroad basically hated her. I think she judged Faye by how she treated her. I cannot see any difference between their friendship and the one that developed between Brandi and Lisa V. Brandi was always a horrible person, but as long as she was a good, loyal friend to Lisa V, she was fine with her. She stood behind her during the whole awful Adrienne deal. She was fine with her until she went after her. I would imagine Kyle would drop Faye similarly if she stabbed her in the back in such a manner.
  12. I read an interview the other day where she said she quit. I tend to believe this because she is apparently on Caroline's new show. Kathy admitted that she wasn't asked back in a FT capacity, so stepping down wasn't her choice.
  13. Thanks Duke for this little nugget. It sheds new light on just how crazy Sonja really is. I sometimes read her blog and wonder if she even watched the show or knows what she is commenting on. I think she remembers there was camera crew around and a bunch of shit got filmed, but that was about it. She certainly has no respect for the viewers of the show. Doesn't she think we would wonder where this Brian dude has been when she was doing the Pirate out on the lawn, or taking her walk of shame, or any of the other crude stuff we have heard her talk about? Why wouldn't she have mentioned Brian before? She has truly gone off the deep end.
  14. Ramona has been the same since pretty much the first episode. The only time she wasn't a raging lunatic was during S3, the Scary Island season. She came into the season saying she was changing her life and her attitude (I think this was the year she and Mario renewed their wedding vows - in year 17 of their marriage which continues to be one of the strangest things I have ever heard. I guess Bravo could think of no other reason to have a Season Finale Party). She started to rethink the way she had treated Alex and they became friends. She was extremely nurturing with Beth and tried to help get Beth and Jill back together again. It was the closest Ramona has ever been to tolerable or likable. She also looked fantastic - her body looked awesome that season. By S4, she was back to being the Ramona we all knew previously and have seen every since. With Ramona for a wife, of course Mario was banging someone else.
  15. I have read those tweets from Heather, but I never believed them. Oh, I do believe that Teresa had a contract she probably could not get out of, but I don't believe she tried. What would she have done? This was around the same time she was getting the news that the BR judge had ruled there was fraud in their filing, and she was on the hook to the tune of around $10 million. How would she have paid any of it off (not that she tried to pay down her debt even with her salary from Bravo) without the show? There would have been no more cookbooks if she wasn't on the show anymore, no crappy wine to sell. The one thing everyone seems to agree on with Teresa is that she is competitive. She has said it and those around her have said it. I don't think she would have walked away and let Melissa and Kathy have "her" show anymore than I think she was unaware of the illegal dealings going on under her roof. If they had been on the show first, she would be been scratching and clawing to get on.
  16. I have always thought the Kyle and Lisa were both at their best when they were friends. Lisa is very different with Kyle. I can see why they were friends for so many years before the show started. I think they have great chemistry. I haven't been big on Lisa the last two years since she got the Brandi stink all over her, but I am looking forward to her and Kyle being friends again. I think Lisa R will be a great addition and I hope that she and Lisa V hit it off as well.
  17. Has anyone else noticed the flash backs they are using on this particular show this year? For instance the one where they showed a clip of Tamra telling Vicks about Shannon, which we didn't see originally. Or flashing to Tamra and Eddie viewing the bad floors when they were in the office having their conversation. I have never seen them do this before, and have never seen it on another show, including the NY one that is running right now. I like them and wish they would use them more.
  18. I have heard others speculate that Andy must love Ramona, since he keeps her dumb ass around. I have always thought the opposite. His body language and questions to her at the reunions always make it seem like he is mocking her and gets that she is ridiculous. I think they keep her around because she makes for great reality TV. She has absolutely zero self-awareness, and therefore has no idea how silly she looks in almost every situation. I think others probably enjoy filming with her because she is pretty much always going to make whoever she is filming with look better and more sane in comparison. If I was on the show, I would be trying to film with her all the time. Last night I think she was being mocked big time by Bravo, as she has all season long. They took all the judgment she has thrown at others, all of her pretense of having this perfect marriage and life, and threw it back at her with the montage, the scene of Mario brushing her off when he was "preparing", and just the song in general. No way anyone who knows what was going on in her life could watch that without wondering who Mario was really singing too. It was sheer perfection, and gives me hope that she will have to address the Mario issue with regard to the way she has treated others in the past at the reunion.
  19. I think that Heather had her mind set on what kind of dog she wanted. I see no issue with that at all. Like people do when they are getting ready to make a decision that others will judge, they try to justify their actions. This is pretty much human nature. She is pretty use to folks calling her elitist, and she is trying too hard to get out in front of it. Her problem was in trying to justify it at all. I looked into this breed for my MIL who has allergies. My research showed that for the most part, they are good for most folks with allergies. I think they key is in knowing about the dog's parents, which I will assume Heather looked into with whatever breeder she used. This is just one example of articles out there that spell this out: http://www.dingothedog.com/info/are-goldendoodles-hypoallergenic/
  20. I was just going to say the same thing. If I was in the area and could only go to one place, it wouldn't be to one of Lisa's. It would absolutely be Spago. There is just absolutely no place like it (especially since they did the remodel last year). You will have the meal of your life, Chef Puck will come out and say "hi" if he is in the kitchen (he is frequently believe it or not), and you will see some famous folks having a meal they will never forget. It is truly an experience worth having.
  21. Agreed. I loved the way Heather looked for him and said "where's my husband" right before she started singing. It seems clear that they are so supportive of each other. Such a huge contrast to the fuckery that is Josh and Kristen's marriage.
  22. I wonder if Ramona now wonders who Mario was thinking about when he was singing that song? Certainly not Ramona. Effortless is not a word I would ever associate with her.
