  1. I have probably never said anything good about Vicki ever, but I thought she did well with Heather. As pointed out, she didn't really throw Tamra under the bus, or say anything to her that she wouldn't and hasn't said to her face, but she made the point articulately. I also liked the way that she took ownership of some of the things she had said about Heather behind her back and apologized for it.
  2. Yea, but again she wasn't saying it to Tamra or Vicks, she was saying it to Terry. I completely agree that if either one of them feels "less than" because of things that she says in private (well, private with a TV crew in the room) to her husband, but has never voiced to them in any way, that is their problem. The one thing that I like about Heather is that she asks very direct questions - to Vicks she said "have I ever bragged to you about the things that I have", or to Tamra "why would I want to hurt you", or "have I ever lied to you"? They are not use to folks actually engaging in a conversation with them. Generally they accuse someone of something and the other party starts screaming, says something terrible back, then runs from the room. She surprises them because she makes them back up what they are saying and doesn't appear to be afraid to ask the questions to begin with.
  3. Lisa Rinna would be fantastic. Maybe she and Harry have learned something from Yo and Camille - that the gal can have a role on the show, while the guy can keep doing whatever it is he does and just show up here and there (although the more of Harry I see the happier I will be). I believe Mad Men is in it's final season right now, so maybe that wouldn't be much of an issue.
  4. The conversation was with Vicks, and I don't think Vicki could have come up with much. Does she really talk about her wealth and her possessions every time she gets a chance? I hate people that do stuff like that, but I cannot really remember her bragging to the gals about this stuff. Yep, she talks with Terry, as all spouses do about that kind of stuff, but I have never heard her brag about her wealth or possessions to the gals. I remember the silly party she had at the end of her first season - the whole name changing party. They had been filming together all season, but only Tamra had ever been to Heather's house. Clearly they all knew she was rich, but I remember how stunned they all were at the sheer size of her house. Vicks, Gretchen and Alexis all mentioned that they had no idea she lived in such a place. Yea, the groundbreaking deal was dumb, but apparently this is what these folks do. Shannon also said that she had a groundbreaking ceremony for her new house. It was about as dumb as Tamra having a party in her empty gym to show off what a great business woman she was.
  5. I love babies, but I am sick to death of the topic of babies. First there is Brianna's baby, then we have to hear LIzzie talk nonstop about having another baby and how much work it will be for her and her mother, since apparently her husband won't help. Then of course there is the silly baby talk with Tamra. Am I to understand that next week we will have to watch them cope with a doll? I wasn't interested last year when Tamra talked like this, nor did I give two shits when Gretchen and Slade took their turn with the topic, or when Alexis pretended to try to talk Jim into another baby. Yea, I get it. Women have the babies and the show is about women. Can we please move the fuck on to another topic unless any of these people are actually serious about procreating at this point? I want to like Lizzie, but I agree with a poster up thread. So far she is just boring. It is too bad because I get a vibe about her that says she is anything but boring, but it is not translating. Shannon is all kinds of irritated with Tamra in her blog. She doesn't like the fact that she repeated the gossip about her marriage, doesn't like that she lied about it, and is sick of the talk about her drinking too much. This is an interesting turn of events. According to Andy on WWHL, the fight between Shannon and Heather next week is huge. Like another poster said, I will reserve judgement because so often the previews are very different from the actual show. I will be extremely disappointed if Heather is casually gossiping about Shannon and her marriage. On her Twitter feed she said something about the fact that Shannon had been very open with the gals that her marriage is in trouble since the first time they all met, so it isn't a secret. I do remember she started talking smack about her husband not spending any time with her the very first time they all met. It never seemed like she was keeping her troubled marriage under wraps.
  6. There could be a bit of that. Who doesn't love to have their work appreciated? Would it have been better for Carole to tell her she is a nutcase and refuse to speak with her? I am often polite to folks that I secretly think are nuts. Is this unusual? The difference to me is that Aviva was horrible to Ramona - really horrible (although I had no issue with it at all. Ramona and Sonja are white trash, so I was rooting Aviva on when she said as much. I am fine with it being repeated during each episode. As the matter of fact I would prefer it). Despite Aviva saying something that Ramona considered to be hurtful, all she had to do was tell Ramona that she looked pretty and all was forgiven. She didn't have to appreciate her work or her character, just tell her she looked good. I don't believe that Kelly has ever said or done anything specifically ugly to Carole that should mean that she would do anything except be nice to her in that moment.
  7. Like someone else mentioned above, I never believe the gals who say they didn't watch the show, and think it is strange that they would try to pass this story off. Both Yolanda and Carlton on the BH series swore they never watched the show before they came on, although Yo admitted at her first reunion that she had since watched a few episodes and wished she would have done so before she started the gig. Heather on the OC show said she hadn't watched the show before, but did catch up on I believe the prior season before accepting the job. I don't ever remember hearing Carole say she hadn't watched the show. On one of the early episodes this season when she was arguing with Aviva, Aviva used one of Kelly's lines from the Scary Island Season, and Carole pointed out that it had first been said by Kelly. Clearly she watched that season, or she heard about it. I also didn't take the fact that Carole was polite to Kelly to be any type of a signal that Carole is going to start hanging out with her. Carole's background in TV news gives her an additional depth of knowledge of the editing process. Really, TV news is not that different from a reality show. There is no script, and folks can edit a story to say pretty much what they want it to say. Carole would know this and might just be a bit more weary of buying into a person's character based solely on what edited footage we see. I certainly believe that Kelly was about the looniest person every to be on a Reality Show, but I think it just shows that Carole is pretty smart and would want to judge someone for herself. All she said was that she enjoyed talking with her and it was nice that she showed a bit of interest in her career. Hardly an endorsement of Kelly's mental health.
  8. When I first read Carole's blog, that was my initial, fleeting thought. Then I took an inventory of all the ways I am interested/vested in this show. I had watched the episode twice (first time in a hotel room where the cable kept going out), I had been reading this forum both during the show and after to weigh in on the action, I had watched the clips on Bravo for next week, looked up to see if I could find the 'first look" on my DVR, and I read their blogs. Oh yea, and then I come here a few times a day to check in. I don't even know these people, and none of them are talking about anything that remotely involves me, yet I am weighing in on this drama like it is my job. Considering all this I can certainly understand why Carole would be vested enough in things going on that actually involve her to do a little digging.
  9. No, certainly that would not be a reason to let go of Sonja. My point was that if Ramona was offended by people behaving inappropriately and being a basic gossip, or surrounding themselves with folks who like to gossip, then she would not be friends with Sonja. Sonja has absolutely zero discretion from what I have been able to ascertain. Ramona acted almost like she wanted to sniff out the truth and save the day for the beauty queen. Her motives were far from pure, but still she got the information and I am sure feels like she is the better person. IMO she is no better because that was tacky as hell, but she will feel good about herself, as she generally does even when she has done something offensive. It is interesting though because before the blogs were even up, there were a couple of mentions of the movie on this forum. I had never heard of it before, and I became interested when I read the posts on this site, but more so when I read the blogs. It seems like it is just a really good movie that reminded a lot of folks of this episode.
  10. Ramona was not concerned about that girl or her reputation. She was not worried that folks were talking about her. If she was offended by that type of thing she would have ended her friendship with Sonja a long time ago. She was mad at George and went sniffing around. I would have felt completely different if she had gone up to her, minus the questions, and simply told the beauty queeen that she should know that someone was saying some not very discreet things about her to a large audience. If the gal was interested she could have asked for details. Instead she asked those silly questions, like she was the headmistress at some boarding school. Yes, she got the information, but she looked very silly doing it. Which is pretty much per usual.
  11. I do think her eyes could scare a person - mainly because she just looks you straight in the eye while she is making her point. It might come natural to her or it is a tactic she has learned, but it is effective. I really noticed it on second viewing of her meeting with Shannon. She sits perfectly still and looks intently at the person who is speaking - she barely blinks. It was interesting the way Tamra almost seemed to be shrinking under her gaze at Shannon's party. I also wonder if Heather wasn't saying with her eyes "I know a lot of shit about you that I could start spilling so you had better be very careful". Ramona on the other hand cannot look a person in the eye. She looks to the side, looks up, looks all around with those crazy eyes. She always looks like she is trying to get away with something.
  12. I completely agree, but it sounds like Bravo has been guilty of doing much more heinous things. The attached article is really interesting reading. It is about Scott Dunlop, the creator of The RH shows. He talks about how the series came about and the impact it has had. There are also several interesting tidbits from current and former HW's. The most interesting to me was about Cat on the short-lived DC series: "But the fallout can be more serious than a tiff between friends. Catherine Ommanney was a British expat married to a White House photographer and author of a tell-all memoir when she agreed to take part in The Real Housewives of DC in 2010. She enjoyed filming and took it all with a large pinch of salt. But there was one occasion, she alleges, when the programme-makers edited her footage to make her appear racist. On screen, Ommanney was shown visiting the family of Stacie, a black cast member. That footage was interspersed with a later interview of Ommanney saying she "felt uncomfortable". The only problem was that Ommanney claims she had actually been talking about getting a pedicure – "because I hate people touching my feet. They took that out of context and the average American thought I was a racist". The rumour spread "like wildfire" and Ommanney started receiving hate mail. The pressure was such that Ommanney says she confronted one of the editors at a drinks party while the series was airing. "I said: 'I cannot believe what you've done to me,' and they said: 'Cat, I'm so sorry. You get ripped apart the first four episodes but then it turns around and everyone ends up loving you.' That's the way they keep it interesting," says Ommanney phlegmatically." To me, this is nasty as fuck. Being labeled a racist can ruin your life, which is fair enough if you are one. My head would have exploded. What reasonable person would expect for someone to cobble your words together to make you look like you are a racist? http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/feb/16/real-housewives-interview-scott-dunlop
  13. . The below article talks about the contracts. There has always been speculation, but more credit was given to this because it was given as evidence by Tamra Barney's ex-husband Simon as he fought to keep his kids off the show. I have zero sympathy for anyone who would sign this, and Miss Whoever She Is most defiantly would have signed one. She was wearing a mic and I am assuming had a place card. It is hard to imagine her just walking in off the street and having a seat at the party of a Real HW and not noticing they were filming an actual show. http://t.radaronline.com/entry/view/id/95524?utm_referrer=http:%2F%2Fallthingsrh.com%2Fshocking-details-bravos-real-housewives-contracts-revealed%2F When Joe G called Teresa a c*** it was the c***-calling heard round the world. I cannot stand her, but even I was a bit shocked that Bravo would let something so hurtful make it to our TV. Any network that treats it's own like this would have no reason to protect a random participant if ratings were at stake. Unless this beauty queen is just dumber than dirt, she had to know what she was getting herself into. I am no lawyer, but I would imagine she has less of a leg to stand on than Aviva does.
  14. Just a shoutout and a thanks to whomever (or whoever?) compared this episode and the gossipy gal to the movie "The Women". I was unfamiliar with it, but with your comments, as well as those from Carole in her blog (she loves this movie), I am going to check it out. I love these forums not just for the snark, but for the insight. I was unfamiliar with Grey Gardens before I got hooked on TWoP, and I am so glad I was introduced to such a lovely and disturbing documentary.
  15. I wonder if Aviva was aware of how little she might be missed when she decided to not be a apart of certain events? Likewise Ramona? Some of the best scenes this year have included neither of them. I loved Heather's rooftop party, the gals swimming and having fun in the Berkshires, and most of the stuff at Saratoga. For all that the season has sucked in lots of ways, there has also been some great female bonding and good times. Almost none of the good times include Ramona or Aviva. Looks like Aviva will carry on per usual and miss the Montana trip, while Ramona will just bitch and moan her way through it, making everyone wish she would have stayed behind (maybe they don't have a/c in Montana). Although I detest Ramona to her very core, I always thought she was necessary for this show. Her absence has made me realize this is probably not the case.
  16. Should she have said something earlier? Of course she should have. The point to me is that she said something now. She didn't wait until George did something specifically to her. Her blog is epic. I would call it a rant, which I absolutely love. She seems like she is completely over this bullshit.
  17. They showed him looking over at her and saying "hi" right when he was finishing his sentence. She was right there and it looked like he knew it.
  18. I was hoping Miss Whoever She Is would go all Vicki Gunvalson and start screaming "I have never been with a woman" at the top of her lungs. Major let down. I believe that Avery is going to school in Georgia.
  19. I think it is possible that Terry is the biggest famewhore, but despite what we might have been told, it is hard to imagine that he bullied Heather into doing anything. The famewhore part doesn't bother me. It is really just a matter of degree. Every single one of them is a famewhore - you would have to be in order to put your life and your family out there for all the world to see and judge. To me he is just smarter than the rest of them. He clearly knows what he wants and he has a plan. He is engaged in the process and doesn't act like he was forced into being a part of this thing, as it seems to me is the case with Eddie. He acts disdainful most of the time, and I get the impression he is just doing this because it is the only way he can think of to be anyone of significance. The smarter person always gets points from me. They are all narcissistic, they are all willing to sell out their families and their relationships for a bit of fame, they are all liars to an extent and are playing a role. For the most part they are all incredibly dumb. I don't mean the kind of dumb that comes from not having access to an education or experiences. They are the kind of dumb that comes from having little interest in anything that takes place outside of their small world. I always imagine Terry and Heather are the only ones on this show that are even registered to vote. For some reason this appeals to me.
  20. I agree with this, despite the fact that I have always loved Lu. For me, she brings that "Nanny Diaries" quality to the show that my lack of knowledge of actual NY women brings to mind. I do think, however, that had we seen all the stuff that was apparently left on the cutting room floor that she would come across much differently. Folks always found a lot to criticize with Lu the mommy, and seeing her interact (or not) with her kids might have brought that to mind. I wonder if this will prove to be a learning episode to Bravo. Here we have a gal that always faced her share of criticism, yet is coming across great without really showing us much of her personal life at all. Except for the episode last night, a new person watching this franchise would have no idea that Lu even had kids - I don't think it has been mentioned one single time. You wouldn't know that she had once been married to a Count, or that she had to handle her divorce very publicly on the show. With the exception of seeing her with Jacques, we have little idea what is going on in her life. Yet she shines in the role of the gal who comes to all the parties and still takes part in the drama. We need more players like this to come in and bring the show to life. My favorite line of the night came from Avery when she was trying to get dumb ass Ramona to buckle her seat belt. "That is like the first rule of....everything". Despite all the odds, it looks like Ramona and Mario have raised a smart, insightful, lovely young woman.
  21. I love Heather more than any other HW ever, but I was disappointed that she passed around the text, and don't understand why Lu wasn't at all mad at her. From the shot we saw of Lu looking out at the table, Heather was the one laughing and it and appeared being the loudest. I get that Aviva is the bad guy in most every scenario (cannot stand her), but if you are going to be mad at the display at that table, the blame needs to be shared.
  22. I cannot believe the conversation I just saw Ramona have with that girl. Those folks thought she was a loon.
  23. I cannot help myself, but I just really like Terry, and have from the beginning. I know he can be elitist, but he seems like a really nice guy to me. I imagine him as a somewhat nerdy guy who always wanted to be a jock but just wasn't. I think he genuinely likes people and wants to be liked back. I was struck by how gracious he was at Shannon's first dinner party - the way he just went on and on about the food. Nothing makes a hostess feel better. He did it again on this episode, saying it was the best food he had ever had (I am sure Heather just loves to hear that, although she admits she is not a good cook). He seems to try to get along with everyone and likes to get to know everyone. I also found it amusing that he was trying to have actual dinner party conversation at this party - asking folks what they would save in their house if it was on fire. Yes, it is trite and we have all played that game before, but how unusual to actually hear someone trying to engage others in converstation and do something besides engage in petty banter on this show.
  24. Tamra finally put up a blog (it has been a few weeks). There is a lot of blah, blah, blah about the whole segment on Heather's show and why Tamra was pissed off, but bottom line she says she now believes Heather was telling the truth. No mention of the "picking a side" deal.
  25. Heather pretty much calls it a draw in her blog. She said she certainly never told Tamra to pick sides. She said she did talk with her about the fact that she was being a wishy/washy friend. Supportive one minute than unsupportive the next. She said she told her to "pick a lane" and stay in it. To me this makes sense because it follows the narrative we have seen pretty much from the beginning - Heather believing that Tamra is not a very good friend anymore. Because the whole "pick a side" deal sounded familiar to me, I rewatched the groundbreaking episode, where I thought something about this had been talked about. Sure enough, when Tamra and Heather are talking, Tamra said she feels caught in the middle and like she needs to pick a side. Heather said that's crazy because there were no sides. Heather then says in her TH interview that there is no reason for Tamra to be in the middle since the issues involve Heather and Shannon alone. She said if Tamra is in the middle, it is probably because that's where she wants to be. Apparently the situation Tamra is talking about now happened shortly after the party. Strange that Heather would be so adamant when talking to Tamra that there were no sides to pick, yet text her later and say something so different.
