  1. I know people say that Spurgeon is so cute (I don't see it) but Bradley Bates is a beautiful child.
  2. Eh; he's an average looking kid to me. He's going to look full on like a Duggar male which is not good.
  3. Yeah I didn't get the typical Doormat from this either. I'm not a fan of Gothard and all of that, but the Bates family at the least actually allows their children to go their own way. Alyssa is not fundie anymore at all and Erin has gone away from Gothard. At least two of those other girls are also going to go away from fundie land (I can't keep them straight but Carlin and Tori maybe?).
  4. Those braids that she had were crochet braids. All you have to do is unloop them from her hair and they'll come right out. This week Top Models were even more obnoxious. They had absolutely nothing nice to say about any of the girls other than their own. I just don't like it when the other adults speak so badly about the competition. One thing that Cambrie ALWAYS does is find something nice to say about the other kid. I also think it's ridiculous for them to say that Cambrie can't take credit for the winning of girls that came from Top Models. That doesn't even make sense. If the girls left Top Models because they weren't winning (we've heard this said on another episode) to come to Cambrie, where they start winning; something must be different. I think that at Top Model Amanda only gives the other girls any good tips when her own kid is not competing. You can bet your ass if Landree had been competing this week they sure wouldn't have been focusing on Saymone. I just do not like those two at ALL. Next week is a return of at least one Tiara Twin. I'm curious as to which team they are going to be on, I didn't see anything that gave an indication.
  5. Other than Landree I believe all of the other top Supreme titles were won by Cambrie's girls. I'm pretty sure that I recognized all of the parents on the stage as her team. I agree that anyone who coaches with Top Model is stupid. It's quite clear that no other child there gets the amount of attention that Landree does. They had other girls there (I thought in the last episode they said 13?) but you never saw them commenting or paying attention to any other girl. They only gave Addison attention because it was scripted by the show. You can totally tell that their focus is on Landree and her winning. How stupid was Addison's mom to sit there with a smile when the blonde coach said "If you're not first then you're a loser". Umm hey stupid, she's talking about your kid! Cambrie doesn't always manage to rein her parents in but at least she tries. She also is really good about trying to remove the kids from the drama, which none of the others seem to care a fig about. Blonde chick and Red-head chick are just too much for me. Blondie was trying entirely too hard and Reddie was just silly rolling around crying on the stage. According to her, that child wins all of the time. So why the theatrics? At the end of the episode was a preview for a new show, Little Miss Atlanta. I can't wait to watch and see what this one is all about.
  6. I still like Cambrie; she just seems to really love the kids. I don't think the bus thing was that bad because it was clearly set up by TLC and both parties were aware it was going to happen. Otherwise how could Cambrie's team's party bus just magically appear at the exact time that crazy glasses lady and the other lady decided to come stand in the entry of the hotel for no apparent reason. If crazy glasses lady was checking into the hotel and looking for her team, why would she stand in the entry way saying "where are you?" rather than going into the hotel and walking towards them. Clear set-up there. I also just do not like the idea of a coach that brags how much her team wins but really their own kid is winning the top prize all of the time. Personally I would never join a pageant team (I wouldn't anyway!) if the parent had a kid currently competing. It smacks of conflict of interest. Is she truly going to give her all to the other girls so that they have a chance to beat her kid? Of course not. She wants them to be just good enough to beat others but not good enough to beat her child.
  7. I don't know if it's true or not but at Nia's age is very easy to change a dance. If there are moves that she isn't comfortable with, she'd just improvise on stage. At my niece's former studio there was a girl known for doing this. There are certain moves that she doesn't do, so even in group dances instead of doing them she'll do something else. Yet she is allowed to stay in the competition team because her mother is one of the studio owners. Now whether or not Nia is doing this is up for debate but it can certainly be accomplished. I congratulate Holly for capitalizing on Nia's abilities and getting her out there, because she certainly isn't the best dancer. What she is, is a great performer. She's very expressive and that is working for her.
  8. I don't know why they went this route. The show is definitely going to be over soon, if we had any doubt. Ava's mother should hang up the fame-seeking for dance and get that child to a model agency stat. She clearly has the height/looks for it so I don't understand the push for dance when being taller as a dancer is a definite liability.
  9. I think that Jaime and her mom are behind it; because like Cambrie was saying, when has that ever been a pageant rule. I don't know if the child has SN or not, but Becky was wrong for screaming at the kid. I do think it's because she was wound up and aggravated over the entire birth certificate thing. It's not an excuse but Katie is not an innocent in the entire situation. I'm glad that after the end of this pageant we are going to get a break from Jamie's group. I find them to be truly repugnant.
  10. Becky yelling offstage at the child was unacceptable but I don't think that child is SN for one minute. I think that she likely is socially awkward but that she doesn't want to do pageants. Last week when the mother was getting out the dresses she yelled "I'm not doing this pageant" and the mother says "Oh yes you are". Cambrie said that they had competed against the little girl in the past and not once had anyone mentioned that she was SN. Social anxiety is not a special need. Unless they are saying the child is autistic (I worked with children who have autism for years and I didn't see it in the brief moments she was on screen). I think some parents these days like to assert that kids have special needs for every single little thing. I'm not a social person and I do not do well in groups. I get really anxious and find myself a corner or wall to hold up. However that does not make me SN.
  11. Even in the old episodes the kids that did the best had coaches. The difference is that the old show never acknowledged that one coach may have multiple kids there competing against each other. But if you go back and watch the old shows you'll notice teams wearing the same shirts/colors etc. Or see groups of girls all around the same people. In general I think that it's probably the rare child that can win without a team/coach behind her. The entire hair/makeup/glitz thing is just too much for one person to handle successfully.
  12. I don't get the criticism about the new format; most of it is exactly the same. The big difference is that we don't get the pageant during the first episode. I think the snark factor is huge which is the reason I watch this show. Unlike Dance Moms where everyone showed up their best groomed and tried to act high society; these mothers are right in your face with their horrid personalities. Cambrie's team is definitely my favorite; Jamie and her friends are terrible. No professional coach would EVER allow a meeting to be interrupted by other parents and then allow them to pile on someone like that. Piper is an ugly little girl with an ugly personality. Her mother is attractive but her personality makes her hideous. I can't believe that she called her other child "special". Christ who does that? As far as the birth certificate thing, I think that child looks like she was 6 to me. Maybe because my nephew is a big 6 year old but I didn't even blink an eye. Also the rules for this upcoming pageant are so stupid. No coaching off-stage is a joke. Most of these kids in the younger range can not compete without coaching. That's clearly a rule made specifically to target certain contestants. Cadence was really unattractive and her moms better get some control now. That behavior is not cute and it's only going to get worse as she gets older.
  13. From that terrifyingly bad Christian movie film studio.
  14. Nah Selyse wasn't the ugliest kid. You're forgetting Honey Boo Boo, those "Tiara Twins", Brenna and quite a few more. But she definitely wasn't cute. One of my favorite episodes is the second one with the Tiara Twins. At the end Giavanna doesn't win Ultimate and her mother goes to the judges to confront them about the score sheet. She goes on and on about how "That kid is the prettiest kid in this pageant" etc. That's the moment that sealed it for me that parents really see their kids with rose colored glasses. Because, just no.
  15. I actually liked this episode more than last week's. Plus I think that we are in for some big drama later on this season lol. I miss the old format but i'm going to keep watching for now. This pageant was definitely rigged and at the preview for next week we kind of get a hint why. Obviously Jamie is a huge insider with a mom who's a director. I noticed that when her little girl missed beauty she was very comfortable asking "Tonya" if she could go on. I think most people wouldn't have been that familiar with a director. I was with Jacqueline and Lily's mom in being upset. Now I wouldn't do this stuff with my money, but if they are going to do it then it should at least be somewhat fair. There is simply no way that Kallyn (stupid ass name) could have gotten a higher title than either Lily or Jac at a non-rigged pageant. The child completely blew both portions of the pageant. In reality she shouldn't even have pulled out of her age group. Plus Selyse (another stupid ass name) got Queen for her age group rather than 4th runner up or something when she shouldn't have been scored for Beauty at all. So basically for 3 year olds out of the 6 girls that were there she got 2nd place; really? I can't wait for the shenanigans next week when Jamie is going to try to convince us all that her mother's pageant isn't going to be rigged in her team's favor!
  16. She danced with Travis tonight on SYTYCD and I was struck by how mature she appeared in their routine. She's a beautiful girl and her skills have only improved since leaving Dance Moms. I can't wait to start seeing some videos from her tour with Sia that's kicking off soon.
  17. I have a different opinion of Maddie, but that's not surprising since most on this forum seem to hate her from Dance Moms. I think she's doing fine, she's a kid in the midst of adults and if she came off the same as them I think that wouldn't be good. My pre-teen niece loves her on the panel and fast forwards through the other judges but stops for her. She also really loves Maddie in the rehearsals. She's as coherent as Jason and Paula so I don't get the criticisms on what she's saying to the contestants. None of them are offering real advice on what these kids can do to improve because it's certain that not all of them have been as good as they have been praised to be. As far as the contestants, before the show started I was predisposed to like Kida because of his very sad back story but he has this smug vibe that is really turning me off. I am loving Jordan, Tate and Ruby with Tahani coming in fourth place. I'm over JT and his cuteness and Jake and Emma are not doing anything for me. I think that the producers would like to see a final 5 of JT, Tate, Ruby, Kida and either Jordan or Tahani. I'd sub in any of them for JT though because I just can not take him.
  18. I am looking forward to the coming weeks because the kids will be forced to really rise to the challenge. At their ages, they are all really confident in what they do. They are prodigies so they have been praised, likely constantly, for doing what they do well. Throwing them into a style that they are not comfortable with and having to preform it live in front of a large audience is really going to show who really has what it takes.
  19. I think that Joshua was likely replaced because he and the kid he picked do not match up well at all. I was mystified as to why he chose him in the first place.
  20. I love Simrin's Hip-Hop but i'm never impressed with her contemporary/other routines. I do at least give her credit for stepping outside the box. The Dance Awards encourages a lot of the same movements. It often looks like a contortionist competition. I wish that there was more emotion and actual dancing than simply transitioning from movement to movement.
  21. I thought that the show went surprisingly well. I was pleased with the majority of the routines and most of the kids did a really good job. I can already see that little JT is going to go far. He isn't the best dancer but his cute factor and the audience/judge reaction to it is obvious. Maddie said during his segment that she hoped that he got pushed just as hard as the older kids but I don't see it happening. What I do see ahead is a lot of tears when the routines are outside his comfort zone. We'll see if i'm proven wrong. I've already forgotten the performances by Daniela and Shaedyn (christ that name) so I think one of the two of them will go first. I enjoyed Ruby and Jordin the most tonight. I thought that as a judge Maddie did ok for a first time out. I'd like to see her comments go a little deeper than how the dancers made her feel and/or how they connected to their partners. However, in her defense none of the other judges really went there with real critiques of any issues. They very much soft-pedaled all of their comments. Hopefully as the season goes on they will offer them responses on how to improve because there certainly is room for them to get better in some things. I enjoyed all of the group dances. They only thing that I would have liked them to do that they didn't was to have the kids partner each other. If this show does come back next season they should add that element.
  22. She looked really lovely. I wish her the best and I think that she needs to get away from Dance Moms altogether now; I hope that her mother doesn't sign on for Season 7. Let the new minis and their moms try to carry the show along with Brynn or let it go down in flames.
  23. Maddie competed last year and was 4th
  24. With the kids that got picked there is only one child who is "better" than Maddie and that is Tate. The rest are most certainly not as classically trained as she is. But of course the hip-hop kids are better at their style, and the tap kids are better at their style and the ballroom kids are better at their style. You see how that goes? Better is subjective, training wise Maddie is certainly qualified to critique and judge the kids who are going to be on the show.
  25. I had a long post typed but the computer ate it; so i'll just say that I'm sure most Chloe fans thought she was phenomenal but reviews of the movie are not as positive.
