  1. For me, older Millennial, I think it was TV soundtracks, Twitter, YouTube. I use Shazam to identify songs whenever I hear something in a store or on a show/movie. Other people use Spotify. I barely do, but everyone I know slightly younger than I do does. For Gen Z it is definitely TikTok!
  2. I love "Decode" from the Twilight soundtrack. That's a very white answer of mine. I never get tired of that song. Hayley has an incredible voice.
  3. I knew that there was a possibility I had said this before. Sigh. I'm so predictable.
  4. Jazmine is awesome. I love her song "Dumb", but I think her most famous one now is called "Pick up your Feelings". Also "Bust your Windows". I actually thought she might show up. LOL. If anyone wants to be a Jacob about it, I have to assume the Lee Daniels joke was referencing the title of his movie "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire". The rest of his movies have a simpler title.
  5. Was Tariq always that hot?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?! You know, in Season 1, I seem to recall worshipping Ava. Now? Hmmm.. I don't feel anything. I love the Paramore shout out. I'm always reading social media posts saying that "Black people love Paramore", so much so that there is a podcast named that. LOL. A Pro Amazon song called "She gon' get this package". I swear, that's the first time this season I actually got to see the closing tag here in Canada.
  6. I know that people really, really love Niles, but he was in love with Daphne from the minute he laid eyes on her. We only got a very narrow picture (literally and figuratively) of what Maris was actually like as a person. None of us truly know. I don't think Niles is this perfectly innocent person. I don't understand defending characters who stay in these unhappy marriages as if they're forced to. They're not! Niles would have been fine on his own. And if he wouldn't, then he should have appreciated his wife and not been out looking. Now Mel, Mel I can understand not liking her. I never did. Although, Niles did like her, so, I can understand how she was snowed by him. I just can't warm up to characters who are so obsessed with their image that it led her to act out the way she did and the way she treated Daphne going all the way back to her first interaction with her was just disgusting. Anyways, I'm rewatching Season 8, and I always crap on it, but it's not so bad - yet. I'm wondering if Season 9 is the one I hate.......
  7. A lot of us have celebrities that we love and that would extend to their family too, I would think. Now --- think about how much Elvis's fans love him! 😄 Of course they're going to love Riley too and want to help her! I think a lot of these people are charming and talented - Riley, Zoey Deutch, etc. If I didn't think they were talented I would come right out and say it. But, they've had help. Two of my favourite nepo connections are Kieran and Rory Culkin. I just adore them. Kieran's career probably started when Macaulay's did, but Mac was just inescapably famous in the 90s and I'm sure it helped the rest of the family. Rory was so damn good in "Signs". He blew me away.
  8. Well that was a crushing disappointment. Santina seems to be Zach's puppet and that's just so boring. I bailed on the previous season because I hated what happened early on.
  9. This season was garbage compared to Season 1. The quality of designers and judging was a major step down. I feel like NiF is trying to go for Gen Z - the contestants seemed 10-15 years younger than S1's and it showed. I'm fine with Nigel, and I would have been just as fine with Deontre. Bao is a sewer to me. I don't get the gushing over her designs. It's tight and sexy that's it. That's not what I'm interested in, that's not pushing the boundaries, that's not new. Some of us already lived through the 80s. I do not get it at all. The judging really suffered. I'm fine with Alexa leaving, but having nobody on the panel who's even remotely a designer makes the quality of the judging so poor.
  10. When Zack kept insisting that John Michael was in love with him, was he being literal? I couldn't follow that.
  11. Maya Hawke just performed a song on The Tonight Show. I totally get why people like her so much, especially after I saw "Do Revenge". She is just very cool and so self assured (not that it should be hard, being her, LOL.) (In case we run into the nepotism argument again I mean, Jimmy Fallon makes no mistake about how must he loves Ethan.)
  12. I saw Riley on Seth Meyers and wow she is soooooooo likeable. Hard to explain but she has a certain sweet likeable quality. She was very critically acclaimed for "American Honey" and "Zola" too, I think. The nepotism is always there, but people might just disagree on the degree, I guess. In my opinion, it's always there. When Riley is in the press, Elvis is mentioned alongside her. That's just a fact.
  13. LOL so much to unpack, so much I couldn't follow, so much was crazy. LOL @ Zack.
  14. I thought the point of the episode was that none of them accomplished what they wanted to in time, so I took away that Valentina is not actually wearing contacts? I agree the episode was way too gross.
  15. I don't mind people leaving after their category at all! What the hell do I care? People expect way too much out of entertainers sometimes.
  16. I liked that the theme of the episode was friendship and conquering your fears and all that but meningitis? You can die from that. Some things are just too stupid for me to bear. Also gross.
  17. I did notice Angela's reaction, but that's it. I care about it for a minute then I move on. They're humans with real emotions and they're not on the job! I think it's too far to demand they show graciousness at all times. I am fine with the real reaction as opposed to the fake polite one. That's why I'm in the camp that was fine with what Hugh Grant said to Ashley Graham because he answered the questions honestly, not fakely. Did he have Tons of Fun shooting a 4 second cameo for Not really! Why would he? He's Hugh Grant. There were so many social media reactions of people saying "NEXT TIME STAY HOME HUGH GRANT". Seriously? Only fakely polite ingratiating personalities are allowed at the Oscars? That is so weird!
  18. I feel totally the opposite. Ashley Graham had no understanding of what he was saying and was pretty ignorant of these actors and the show. Here are some exchanges I witnessed. Hugh Grant: It's a vanity fair. Ashley: Right, where you're really going to let loose after! (LOL.) Pedro Pascal: I'm really excited to see Rihanna perform. Ashley: She's not performing. Pedro: She's not? Ashley: I mean, it'd be a nice surprise! (Surprise? Has she ever watched the Oscars?) Charlbi Dean was the star of Triangle of Sadness too.
