  1. From EW.com/Entertainment Weekly: Psych The Movie: Why Zachary Levi's character is named for David Bowie in the movie Contains info on how Zachary's character was named for David Bowie (or I guess you'd more likely say his nickname or 1 of his alter egos/characters). Also contains VAGUE (I think) SPOILERS as to how Zachary's character interacts with the Psych gang in the movie.
  2. It looks like the show's coming back at some point & they appear to be filming now (or they have been recently). Best news is: it appears they were able to get Mark Dacascos back as the Chairman. He posted these 2 pics to his Twitter within about the last hour; the 1 on the right has him on the ICA set, being photobombed by his son.
  3. From Deadline: Actress Michelle Hurd joins Fox's Lethal Weapon as a recurring character; leaves Blindspot as a regular, but may remain as recurring Michelle Hurd is the actress who's recurred in at least 5 eps (per IMDb, but I think she's done a few more) of the show, between 2014 & 2016 as Lou Grover's wife, & Samantha & Will Grover's mother, Renee, so that's why I'm posting this. Although it fails to mention her association with H50 at all, for whatever reason. I don't know what, if anything, this means in regards to her continuing to play Renee Grover on the show but I hope she can continue playing Renee Grover too; I've liked the way she's played the character.
  4. From EW.com/Entertainment Weekly: Despite other media reports to the contrary, Cary Elwes WILL NOT be playing Desperaux again in Psych: The Movie
  5. From People: Susie Landau Finch (Martin Landau's "other" daughter) remembers life with her dad Barbara Bain, Martin Landau's co-star & ex-wife, remembers him
  6. From EW.com/Entertainment Weekly: Psych creator looks to Fast and Furious franchise for inspiration No real spoilers for the movie. But this says (among other things) the plan is to, hopefully, do a series of reunion movies (I think the article says 6) if USA Network will allow. So far the 1 airing this December is the only 1 which has been OK'd by the network & filmed.
  7. I thought it was good from the get-go. It's kind of a weird premise. The main character & Dulé's character are BFF's from childhood & when Dulé's character's not at his other job (pharmaceutical sales representative), & sometimes when he is, they solve crimes based on the main character claiming he's psychic but he's really not--just has a good sense of perception (I think that's how you'd describe it)--& that's gotten them a consultant position with the Santa Barbara (California) Police Department & their detective division. Part of the premise is also, is he fooling everyone regarding his "psychic" ability or not (do they believe he is or not)? Once you see the first ep or 2, I think you'll understand the premise. As someone else said upthread, they also do great homages to/parodies of big things in pop culture in some episodes. Like the Friday the 13th movies/horror movies in general & Twin Peaks, & I can't remember what else right now. Or they do eps set in/flashing back to a different decade, & they do Christmas episodes. They also change up the style in which the theme song's done sometimes, depending on the plot of the episode, & they have some really interesting guest stars. With its premise, it's not necessarily everybody's cup of tea, but hopefully you'll like it.
  8. ER could've been in your head because Bradley Whitford (pre-TWW) is guest starred in Love's Labor Lost, an episode of that series which got a lot of critical (& other positive) notice. He also has an ER acting credit for another episode, The title of which I've forgotten, which follows up what happened to his character in the first episode. At least the first episode is worth finding if you can; I don't remember that much about the second other than it deals with the fallout, if you will, from the events of the first.
  9. You're right, he is & I forgot that. Probably because I haven't been watching it. I think I read his character's supposed to be a lawyer (does that sound right for the show, anyone).
  10. According to his obit they also have another daughter, Susie, who's a writer. Just making sure she's not forgotten in all this because her sister is better known.
  11. I went to get the link to the show's Wikipedia page & got started reading it instead of coming right back to post about it. That's how some of the posts ended up mentioning it before mine asking if it was remembered was posted. I think my (younger) brother had anything & everything you could find, merchandise-wise, about Space: 1999 (& about a lot of other sci-fi series back in the day).
  12. Bob Wolff, sportscaster for 80 years, dies at age 96
  13. Oddly enough, Martin Landau did eventually end up starring in a sci-fi space travel show of his own. Anyone besides me remember Space: 1999?
  14. If there are any Dulé Hill fans here who haven't heard, USA Network is airing a Psych cast reunion movie, Psych: The Movie, in December. And the HBO series Ballers, in which Dulé also appears, starts its next season next week, I think it is. He can also be seen in the canceled-after-2episodes CBS series Doubt, which is currently doing a "burn off" of the episodes that were filmed but not aired before cancellation; those air Saturday nights at 8PM Eastern/7PM Central. And he's in the film Sleight which was recently in (at least) US movie theatres.
  15. As much as I don't wanna agree with you, I think you're right. The Handmaid's Tale seems to be what everybody's interested in/writing about in the entertainment media this season &, again as much as I hate to say it, I think the nominated actresses from that show will probably take the awards on Emmy night. But I'm hoping we might be pleasantly surprised & shocked as well.
  16. From EW.com/Entertainment Weekly: A First Look at Psych: the Movie (Spoilers involved, of course)
  17. By season 7, if not by season 6, Dulé Hill (who played Charlie) had started filming his next TV show, Psych, which aired in the US on USA Network (a cable channel here) for 8 seasons (not sure if/where it aired in the UK). Perhaps that added to the "5th wheel" feeling you got from Charlie in the last 2 seasons.
  18. If anybody missed this or wants to see it again, ABC's repeating it at 10PM Eastern/9PM Central Monday night.
  19. Grace P. wanted more than "a couple of episodes" off; she didn't want to do like Scott & merely sit out 5 eps this season/from now on. She wanted to do less than half of the episodes this coming season (supposedly they're doing 23 in S8, so she wanted to do less than 11 or 12--but how many less than half she wanted to do, nobody's said), then she wanted to be written off the show entirely (sort of, but not exactly, like what Masi Oka did before Max was written out at midseason last season). And she was asking to be paid the same as Alex & Scott for it. Since I think she (& everybody) gets paid by the episode, I think I can see why CBS didn't go for that in her case. She might've averaged more per ep than Alex, at least (or maybe not, since Alex is also making money off the show's backend profits).
  20. DDK was a "regular" from the premiere in 2010. But he (& GP) was considered a "supporting" cast member, not a "lead". Alex & Scott are considered the (only) "leads".
  21. Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to win the prestigious Fields Medal in mathematics, dead at age 40 from breast cancer
  22. And CBS is still getting heat from the press over the DDK/GP pay inequality-related departure. This time from The Visalia (CA) Times Delta
  23. Ray Phiri, guitarist on Paul Simon's Graceland album, dead at age 70 from lung cancer
  24. Who ended up winning? I fell asleep at a point where it was close but the fictional White House staffers were beating the fictional lawyers & missed the last event/final score.
