  1. There wasn't any background noise at all when Al Roker was interviewing Mel Gibson on NBC. I don't recall that with his other interviews tonight. Anyone else notice that? SJP's sleeves ruined the dress. I don't think Nicole Kidman liked her dress, judging from the way she had her arm across it when being interviewed in NBC.
  2. The View Drama After Barbara Walters' Departure, Battles Have Ensued _ Vanity Fair http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/05/the-view-barbara-walters-departure-drama Vanity Fair has written a piece covering more about the producers of The View, and their screw ups, with only a bit about the hosts. It's a long read so I'll have to reread when I've got some time for it. But yet again, rehash of the Rosie stories and no critique of Whoopi. How does that keep happening?
  3. The Oscars are better with comedians hosting. And one with prior hosting experience is even better. They really meed to get back to asking comedic talk show hosts to host. Kimmel, Fallon, etc. Though I could do without seeing Whoopi doing this gig again.

  5. Whoopie was happy today and thus much easier to watch. But I do think that the big reason she was happy was the SNL reunion. She had been invited to an elite event with lots of elite people. She was still on the high. Whoopie said no one had told her that it was black tie so she showed a pic of her wearing a bulky grey sweater and grey knit hat ( http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/whoopi-goldberg-attends-snl-40th-anniversary-celebration-at-news-photo/463546684 different pic, but same outfit). She probably snaps at anyone who recommends she wear something else (other than her bulky sacks) so her staff has learned not to say anything. With Whoopie engaged in the show, it was better. But nothing special. I turned the channel and realized that I could be watching Wendy Williams instead. So I'll check out the View on occasion, but it's Wendy for me now.
  6. I had wanted to see today's show, but couldn't. Now I'm glad though as my last memory of Rosie on the View will be of her craft segment with Martha Stewart. Thanks for the link to that Daily News article ( http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/confidential/rosie-o-donnell-earlier-exit-view-article-1.2110156 ). Having just read kaygeeret's post about RO and high standards, I laughed hard and long at this sentence in the middle of the article because of the ending that my mind added: " A third insider says execs will take plenty of time to make sure the next host gels with the team." "... and be just as incompetent as we are."
  7. I laughed out loud at Vivica being passive-aggressive with Geraldo (paraphrasing): "Oh! You have a shot-list? We spent hours coming up with a shot-list but you have a shot-list. By all means, let's use yours." That is so me! Sisters from another mother! This episode was the worst at pretending it isn't all scripted.
  8. For a couple seconds I thought you meant Barbara Walters. Barbara was in the war and shot at! and shot down! What! No! When! I almost googled it when I realized BW was Brian Williams!
  9. Whenever anyone had left the show, there really hasn't been much discussion of the leaving at all. So I didn't expect anything different with Rosie leaving. The View will never have an actual discussion about anyone leaving (it really doesn't have actual discussions at all anymore). The behind the scenes people at The View seem to be a nasty crowd. So many leaks, many backstabbing and biased leaks, about so many different hosts. A well researched book about the show would be fascinating. One like "The Late Shift" by Bill Carter. Carter thoroughly researched and interviewed the details behind NBC bungling Carson leaving the tonight show and loosing Letterman. His follow up on the Leno/O'Brien fiasco "The War for Late Night" was also a page turner. I hope Carter turns his talents to The View.
  10. Wonder if her refused? His last words would have been entertaining. Probably something along the lines of how Trump does understand how great he is. I haven't seen the Today show with any of them. I imagine it's a staged to allow everyone to redeem themselves??? If anyone sees it tomorrow, please let us know if anyone goes off-script.
  11. Not Johnny too! Is the final going to be Vivica, Geraldo and Leeze against each other? Leeza SO deserves to win. But the smoozing between Trump and Geraldo is a bad omen. Next episode - all time greatest feuds! Great idea!
  12. Just as I was wondering why EYEan and not Brandi too (in total, she shouldn't go further), Trump says someone else is going. I say Brandi. Johnny is better over all.
  13. But maybe Vivica didn't have her phone and her Twitter account password protected on her own phone. At first I did wonder if Vivica did frame Kanya, but Vivica would not have put herself in such a bad light with that tweet. To say call herself a fool and to say that 50 wasn't sexy? An actress would not tweet such a thing as it would hurt her image and possibly getting jobs. Geraldo is a piece of work too. Totally denied that he said KEnya's buns would sell it, when he did. And he didn't strongly question the campaign. Did he even question it at all? Trump first said that Kenya and Geraldo had been on multiple losing teams (I forget the number). Then Trump reemphasized that Vivica had been on those losing teams and didn't mention Geraldo. The fix is in for Geraldo.
  14. New to Shark Tank and really enjoying it. Mark Cuban was so against and even disgusted with the Tycoon guy that I wonder if Mark know someone who lost a lot of money with a similar investment group. I'd really like to try the Almond water - and I'd like to try it without sugar. It sounds like it'd be good without sugar. If a sweetener is needed why not another one? agave? brown rice syrup? The pizza Greenbox is a really good idea. Work places never have enough plates when pizza is ordered for employees. And the regular boxes are a pain to get into the waste brackets. An employer would prefer ordering from a place that uses those boxes rather then from another place. The phone sanitizer will be really popular in homes. No one really cleans with a wipe much. But just popping the phone into that box while watching TV? Easy peazy. Now I'm curious as to what non-QVC sales team Lori has and for what products. Mark was really adamant that she doesn't have any. Lori just said she had them, not where they are or what they sell. The Sharks usually are quick to specify their accomplishments, assets, etc. Looking forward the next episode.
  15. I had totally forgotten that at the end of the last episode, the vice-president had told Fitz that he had to invade or Oliva would be killed. So I kept watching this one trying to figure out who had kidnapped her - thought it was her father. LOL! But I was pretty confident that she wasn't in a foreign country. Ian being a plant was a safe call from the get-go. Yeah, Oliva was a stupid bitch to try and go out the window when she had already been in the bathroom a couple minutes. She should have just prepared to open the window. Then the next time, climbed out as soon as they put her in so she'd have the full 5 minutes to make her escape. The promo - A video of Oliva saying she'll be killed unless the President declares war would be totally useless unless only the President sees it. The Presidents orders wouldn't be followed if everyone knew he was being blackmailed. And then there's the little detail that only Congress can declare war. But loved it! Scandal's back!
  16. Love this show without Whoopi and with Rosie moderating! Rosie is so good at drawing her following cohosts and guests into the conversation. Rosie followed up with Michelle Williams said she hadn't been married by asking if she had had a long term relationship which lead to Michelle talking about her long term experience which lead to them holdings hands and singing Kumbaya. It was so entertaining! I used to be a regular View viewer but recent years started channeling surfing away from it and not returning - and not tuning in the next day. I just realized today that when Rosie is moderating I don't surf away! Off to let ABC know! Go Rosie!
  17. Whoopie said in an interview that she'd be back stronger than ever. Dear Whoopie, Glad you're better. Please know that it's ok to relax and tone it down. Sincerely, One who hopes to stay a View fan
  18. Given JF's tendency to recycle story lines, I can't help but think that the result of Mary's "sex week" will be her confessing to Blake like she did to Matthew. And then Blake and Mary unite against Gillingham (when his nefarious intents become evident to Mary). At the end of the radio broadcast, when the Dowager Countess and Mrs. Crawley were talking about what they felt about the broadcast, the Dowager said the royal family should have some mystery if they want to stay in Buckingham Palace. I was reminded of an article I read in the nineties (when the Charles & Diana issues were threatening the monarchy). It traced the 1st instance of the Royal Family becoming too public to the early sixties when they broadcast a "home film" of the Royal Family having a private family barbeque complete with Prince Philip being the grill master. The writer contended that that was the 1st domino leading to the disaster of Charles and Diana's dueling interviews. I wonder which broadcast JF was thinking of when he wrote that line. Loving this year much better then last.
  19. The Obamas are limited in what kind of dog they can have since Malia is allergic. Portugeese water dog is one of the few breeds that people with allergies can have. I've been enjoying the show without Whoopie. She is exhausting. Constantly needing attention and having to have the last word on a subject (usually "we don't know"). She is why I don't watch the show. I've been trying, but eventually I turn the channel. RO is a lot more fun and considerate of her fellow hosts and guests. So I haven't been turning the channel. I laughed all the way thru the FRozen game show. I'm ok with Rosie Perez, but do think it must be in her contract that she is the frist person to speak after Whoopie starts a topic. I haven't missed her at all. And yes, 5 is way too many hosts. Just my thoughts in case the ABC nnig wigs are reading this!
  20. Robert jarred me back into the twenty-first century when he called Bunting a hater. I've been reading another forum whose members are talking about how people called anyone who critiques them on FB "haters". I thought it was a twentieth century word and looked up it's epidemiology on Wikipedia which does say its from the early 2000s. Downton has an Edwardian manners coach. They need a language coach! I can't stand Bunting or Thomas either. A season or two ago, it seemed he was going to evolve and I began to like him and root for him, but now I'm hoping someone pushes him off the balcony when he's lurking upstairs. Better yet, he just trips on the carpet and goes over for an ignoble parting form this world.
  21. Just saw the season opener. In the scene where Bates was dressing Gillingham, Bates really looked quite intently after Gillingham after they talked about Green. It could be a hint that Bates suspects Gillingham of killing Green. Gillingham killing Green would be a great twist. His motive could be that he's trying to marry Mary for her money or for the estate for whatever reason and Green was a problem - maybe Green discovered Gillingham's plan. I'm hopin' 'cause I'm still a Anna and Bates 'shipper and want them to be happily ever after.
