Or complaining about a light fixture. Do people not realize that they CAN be changed out without much cost?

If she ever qualified for a cruise, they would probably sit in their stateroom the entire time reading the Bible like Pris and David did when they went on a cruise. They posted pictures of themselves reading in their room. That way they could avoid seeing people in skimpy bathing suits or folks dancing or in the casino. It would be a virtue statement to show that they can avoid worldly things on a cruise, unlike other people. I wonder if Jill knows what activities are available, or how normal people act, on a cruise. Maybe she thinks you stay in your room all the time and only come out to eat.

I would bet he is a better cook than his aunt Jessa. I wonder if there are any kid cooking classes in their area. I always enjoy watching the Kid's Baking Championship, and am amazed at how well some kids can cook and bake. I wish my mother, and especially my grandmother, could have been as good in the kitchen. (My grandma was truly a horrible cook)

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

I don't like the way she talks down to the guy, and is so sarcastic. It is his home and his refrigerator, after all. Anyone can keep whatever they want in their own refrigerator. -

I think the point was supposed to be she left on her own out of disgust. Apparently she is not an animal person. I think the guy dodged a bullet. -
But he is reading a recipe and showing that he knows what to do. At least he has an interest that he is allowed to follow, unlike his poor cousins.

The also took out the 4 tops in the cafe and put in 2 tops. Round 2 tops. You can't even push them together to make room for more people. I'm not sure how that translates into more seating than then had before. I feel kind of sorry for the owners.

I have heard of having to sign that you won't smoke, but I have not heard of other restrictions.

I have a friend who is using a plan like this--I don't remember which company--because she moved to another state and did not have insurance from her former employer. She need something to tide her over until she qualifies for Medicare in a few more months. I think it paid for basic health care without problem, but she had to jump through some hoops when she needed a sleep study. She will go on Medicare in a couple of months, so this was a viable option to have basic care for a short time. She is glad she will not have to rely on it in the future.

My take: The murals were nice, I don't know why the horse lady was chosen to have her house redone, and the coffee shop looked terrible. I would think the grass/greenery covering the ceiling would hold a lot of dust, and people are eating under it. My thought on the swings Jenny Mars put along the wall was that I hope the owners have accident insurance. Someone is going to fall. So far, I'm not very impressed.

I wish they would take Tessie to be evaluated by an ortho. She may have a spine issue. Same with one of the Duggar girls--maybe Hannie? (I get them mixed up). She also slumps with her neck pushing forward. Tessie's posture looks pretty bad in this picture. Just judging from this picture, to me it looks like she is not able to "stand up straight". Edited: I should have said "ortho doctor". Sorry.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
CalicoKitty replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
I'm not so sure Joy knows exactly where in the hospital she was. Maybe she calls it the ER because she was in a part of the hospital that has the equipment. Her thought process can be kind of hard to follow sometimes. -

Maybe it is a small hospital, and that is where the equipment is located. Maybe she is calling it the ER, but it is actually another section of the hospital. You would still have to check in so they know where to send the bill. Around here, except for huge specialized orthopedic buildings, our local hospital has everything you could need. That is where all diagnostic tests are done, as well as labs. But you check in at the hospital, not the Urgent Care or ER. -
I hope it will not take her finding him face down floating in the bathtub to make her take some responsibility for her kid. This is just so dangerous I just have no words. And asking if she should put down her phone and go look? Seriously?

I would worry about the vacant lots on both sides of the house.

My Lottery Dream Home - General Discussion
CalicoKitty replied to AuntieDiane6's topic in My Lottery Dream Home
Oh, my gosh. I had so much trouble with the roots from pine trees. They were so invasive that they were heading towards my house foundation. I would never plant trees that grow so tall and have such a huge root system again. The trees were already on the property when I bought it. There was also a Japanese Maple that grew to about 40 feet, also with a very invasive root system. Expert advise is needed when planting trees, in my experience. It is very expensive to have huge trees removed. -
I think the Rods are missing out. In college, I had a friend who's father tested cake mixes at General Mills. He baked a cake from each new batch of cake mix that they made to make sure it was correct. He baked cakes all day. My friend always brought cake to any gathering we had. DBD should get a job at a food factory. He could make (and eat) pies, or any other prepared food. But baking is not man's work, so I guess this wouldn't fly with him.

Claire and Justin do look happy. I'm happy for him that he found a family that pays a lot of attention to him.
