  1. I don't know--I think this outfit looks like her idea of what to wear to a formal dinner. The fur trim on the hat looks pretty fancy.
  2. I know, right?! I don't know how that dress stays up. I'm sure JillR feels very superior and virtuous. After all, she is fully covered--including boots and a hat!
  3. Someone on the Sister Wives forum posted a picture of the Sister Wives at the Plexus Convention on the Christine thread. They were not wearing cowgirl wear. They were wearing evening gowns (ill-fitting and not at all attractive dresses, but at least not a cowboy hat and boots). I still want to see what Jill thinks is appropriate for a dressy dinner at a conference. I can guarantee she would not approve of Sister Wife Christine's dress--at all! I'm sure Jill's eyes are being opened at this conference. Get ready for the rant!!
  4. As I remember, they once tried to pass off the town of Ankeny as being a neighborhood in Des Moines. I guess they are assuming that watchers don't know geography. (My aunt lived in Nevada, so I do know the area well--and yes, I do know how to pronounce Nevada correctly).
  5. I'm scared to imagine what she brought for formal evening wear. A western saloon girl outfit? I wonder what boots she will wear. Maybe sparkly ones? I would love to hear the comments from the other attendees.
  6. I lived in a condo where the CCRs allowed 1 dog or 2 cats, and the dog could not be taller than 15" at the shoulder---and they actually measured the dog. They finally made a change so you could have 2 pets--2 dogs (still under 15 inches), 2 cats, or one of each. It actually would not be fair to a big dog(s) to live in an area with no room to run, so I get the reason for the rule.
  7. Is there a western theme to this convention? Why is she playing cowgirl? I can't help wonder how many good meals and clothing that fits could be purchased for her children with the money that was spent for new boots and "costumes" for BME. Truly, how often will she be wearing those expensive boots in the future? I guess they do kind of go with her cowbell playing.
  8. Didn't someone in her downline give her a pair of "real" earrings a while back? She seemed impressed with the "real" part. Staying with Jill and hubby in any accommodation at any time would be torture. Even the same hotel would be too close. I actually feel sorry for her team members. Sorry @libgirl2, but I have no idea why the post box showed up. I can't find any way to remove it.
  9. That's it. I knew it was on something important.
  10. Michelle didn't use a heart to dot here "i" in this signature. Haven't we seen a doc with the heart? Or was that just at a book signing.
  11. It always amazes me that people don't understand that babies and children grow. Some of the bedrooms that are "good" for a toddler will not be good when you need to replace the crib with a bed. They really did dodge a bullet with this tiny house sale falling through. And did you know--the tiny house hunter's baby is named Arlen? They only mentioned it about 100 times.
  12. I feel so sorry for all of you with smoke. I lived through that a couple of summers ago, and I know it is no fun. We had actual ash falling. I found that an air purifier really helped. I have a small Levoit and a large Conway, and they really did their job. Even with all the windows closed smoke still seems to get in. Everyone, stay safe.
  13. Thunder and rain AGAIN today. We had scattered thunder storms and rain last week, and will have more all of this week. It was a glorious bright sunny day this morning with a bright blue sky, and now it is gray with the wind really picking up. I guess the hard rain storm will be here soon. We had so much snow this past winter that there are flood watches very often. All this rain is not helping. Everyone I know is having bad allergies this Spring because of all the moisture. And--there has been a bear sighting in my area. Since I moved her almost 3 years ago I have experienced forest fire, earthquake, record snow, flood and pestilence. I can hardly wait to see what is next! (No bears on my porch, please). But all is forgiven by the beautiful mountains and the friendly people. I really do love it here.
  14. Tammy Faye was so over done, but you just couldn't look away. She was a very unique person.
  15. According to what was said in the program, parents were told that using Wisdom Books was equal to several collage degrees. Derick was, in my opinion, a "lost soul" who had lost his father, and had a mother fighting cancer. Somehow he had JB as a prayer partner, and he became immersed in IBLP. So I really think that rant about Jill's education qualifications was naively based on what he had heard from the IBLP community and he was stating the propaganda he had been told. I don't think he knew how poor Jill's schooling had been until he realized she couldn't qualify to be a missionary wife. I think (truly hope) that his past rants and behavior were due to his convert beliefs at the time, and that he now is more accepting of reality. Their household must be living with a lot of stress at this time. I'm willing to hope that his actions and attitudes of the past are really in the past, and that he has grown up in the past few years. It would be better, however, if he kept his opinions to himself. Maybe he has grown up to realize that.
  16. I cook beef and pork roasts with dill pickles in the Instapot. Come out great. And cooked dills are delisheous
  17. I also wonder if this bike trailer was something Jill found at a yard sale or the thrift shop. Had it been inspected? Has it been in an accident or "overused" with too heavy loads in it? I would think there would be some kind of weight limit, but I don't know what it is. We know the Duggars bought baby seats at yard sales, and we know Nemo didn't have one at the time of their accident, so I really do wonder about the safety of this bike trailer.
  18. Janessa was supposed to have had a stroke in utero, and is supposedly missing part of her corpus callosum. Then Jill claimed she had been cured through prayer. I think she may have some delays that her "parents" are denying. Which surprises me, because she is passing up a great grift.
  19. I was reminded how much I really dislike Megyn Kelly. I hope to never see or hear her again.
  20. Thanks. The Holts are not in my immediate universe, so I forgot his name.
  21. Just finished all 4 episodes. I think this was pretty well done. For people who only know a little about the Duggars, I think this series was very eye-opening. I thought Derick was very supportive and did a good job. I feel even more sorry for what Jill has gone through. Hopefully this will give people an insight into IBLP and information to think about before they get involved. Amy's husband is kind of quirky, but I thought she did a pretty good job in a non-annoying way. I agree with @Notabugthat it was strange to see the Holts together when we know what happened to them recently. I'm still amazed that JB told Mr Holt (forgot his first name) that their daughter would be told about Josh's sexual molestations after they were married. I'm glad the Holt daughter escaped that situation. The Bateses were only shown for a few seconds while singing, but the logo for their show was flashed along with other TLC programs. So at least they were mentioned as being in the same "cult". Some of the "survivors" comments and life stories were very compelling. This is worth the time to watch, in my opinion.
  22. @SMama, go to the search icon on Amazon Prime and type in the title. I couldn't see it on the ads on Prime, but it is there when you search.
  23. I'm in Nevada and I'm watching on Amazon Prime. I'm guessing there was a lot more to the sister molestations that was ever made public. Derick and Amy's husband are there for support. Very few comments from Derick so far. The Holts are sure not fans of JB's. I think it is well done so far. Episode 2 is next. Other IBLP kids are giving their histories.
