Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

I'm not sure if she is blind to his faults, or has given up knowing that she has no agency to do anything about the situation. Either way--very sad way to live. -
Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

Sadly, Joy does not have any choices. In her culture, she must obey her headship, and he can treat her any way he wishes. She has to live with it. Don't like my beard? Tough. Don't like how I speak to you? Too bad for you. And I think Austin was brought up knowing that the man of the family is in charge. I feel sorry for her, but I don't think she is bright enough to see the problem or to find a way out. -
RE: Janessa in the high chair. Before her birth, Jill posted that Janessa had had a stroke in utero and was told that the corpus callosum was missing--but who knows because Jill exaggerates. There is a very wide span of delay and problems that can happen. The only baby I have cared for with agenesis of the corpus callosum was blind, deaf, unable to maintain body temperature and unable to eat. We kept her clean and comfortable and she died after about a week. But after Janessa's birth, Jill claimed a miracle and that there were no problems. I still think Janessa has delays that Jill has either ignored or is consciously covering up. Apparently the situation is not (thankfully) as dramatic as Jill posed pre-birth, so not enough for a good grift. So better to claim a miracle, ignore any problems, and just baby her. I feel so sorry for these kids. What a bleak future.

(Just shaking my head). I would not be shocked to read a post about his funeral before he is six months old. I'm sure he was discharged from the NICU with instructions. Specific instructions. But hospital staff cannot do anything until they show up in the ER with a baby that can't breath. Being dragged around in crowds of strangers, being mauled and suffocated by his grannie, being fed pink drink in his breast milk, being passed around to the children in the family, and being a preemie--he really has the deck stacked against him. I wonder if his mother learned a lesson from Nurie and Nemo and bought a new car seat. I'm betting not.

But apparently she missed the "proofread" step.

Vacation House Rules - General Discussion
CalicoKitty replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in Vacation House Rules
I totally agree. The house I grew up in was built in 1958, and it was not anything like MCM. It was much like this house. Listing it as Mid Century Modern is false advertising, in my opinion. I just can't get over how awful the decorating was. I feel very sorry for the owners. -
Vacation House Rules - General Discussion

I did not like the "after" reno at all. That living room (in my opinion) looked like a jumbled mess with stuff from yard sale with all the colors and patterns. The wall paper in the "green" bathroom did not match the green fixtures at all. I really thought this was the worse "after" that I have seen. Calling it "mid century modern" does not mean you can just toss any color and pattern together. MCM is a very specific thing. I would certainly not rent this house if I saw the pictures on line. Also, the neighbor's house was quite close. Putting that smokey pizza oven so near their home was probably not a great idea. Maybe it is because I really, really, don't like the "designer" and her "cute" antics, but aside from the bright red carpet, I liked the "before" much more than the "after". -

But I thought watching porn was very, very wrong. Don't they have Covenant Eyes for this very purpose? Wasn't it in the wedding vows that some wife would make sure to monitor her new husband's phone? So if watching porn is so, so horrible, and "all sins are equal", shouldn't they be horrified with J'inmate? Maybe all sins are equal for everyone EXCEPT the first-born son. -
I once had new carpet installed in my whole house, and the carpet layers were not even out of the drive way before both my cats threw up. Seriously. The guys were still in the driveway. I now have LVP only and no carpet, and I love it. I have found that if my cat throws up on my wool area rug, it cleans up very well. Non-wool rugs are much harder to clean than 100% wool. That said--I hope that landlord took a good cleaning deposit.

I just had a thought. Is the timing interesting that this rumor about a Tim and Heidi breakup is going around at the same time Jill posted the picture of her sons stating that they are red-blooded and not sissies? That seemed like an out-of-the-blue post with no known reference. I wish Jill had mentioned if there was any reason for that post. And maybe the two things have no connection.

I would not be surprised if MM left after having his picture posted (with his face covered) after he asked not to have any pictures. He was pretty specific that he did NOT want to be on social media. Maybe he realized that having BME as a mother-in-law was forever, and he was wise enough to know she would cause problems with the marriage. I do feel so sorry for Renee, however. She must be feeling the walls closing in. As far as Tim and Heidi, I'm wondering if Tim lost his job because mommy had other plans for his time. Will he be able to live alone in his house, or will a brother or two have to live with him? Those poor kids (actually adults).

The Other Duggars: The Lost Girls and Amy

Well, I have a rescue cat that had a really rotten first year of life, and after many years she still tries to be demanding. Even though she has no teeth at all, she was coming in my bedroom very early and yelling at me to get up and get the Greenies out. How she eats them, I do not know. Anyhow, to my point. I made sure I did not get up when she did this. I waited until I wanted to get up to feed her. I did not want her to get the idea that she could demand and I would give in. She finally learned that I was in charge in this house, and she would get her Greenies in a timely manner--on my say so. If you constantly give in to a pet--or in this case a demanding child--the situation just gets worse. Amy needs to set ground rules, and explain carefully to Daxxy, and stick to the plan. He needs to learn how to act appropriately. I don't mean "instant obedience" and cruelty, but manners and respect for elders and others. Didn't we get a post from Jill about Izzy learning to respond "Yes ma'am" when she speaks to him? I wonder how it really goes when the cousins get together. I cannot imagine Jill letting her boys chase the dog with scissors. I am fearful that something very terrible may happen involving this child. If a child is led to believe that he is in charge, chaos will ensue. But since Amy thinks his behavior is so cute that she posts it online, I'm afraid it will only get worse. -
I just received an email stating that Medicare Part D will now cover shingles vaccines. If you have not had the vaccine, you might consider it now. I have had shingles, and, believe me, it is no fun. I had to pay for my vaccine a couple of years ago, and they were not cheap. They are now also covering tetanus, Tdap, RSV and hepatitis A and B.

We rise by lifting (helping) others????? Like the woman that needed a ride home from the hospital (but wasn't very important in the church)? Trying to get people to pour money into an MLM with very questionable ingredients does not seem like "lifting others up" to me. (I am very concerned about Kaylee, and therefore Gideon, drinking that "pink drink".) How about lifting up your own children by feeding and clothing them, and teaching them independence? I am so tired of her virtue signaling. I can sort of understand someone getting involved with an MLM that sells kitchenware or makeup to try to make some money, even though it will probably cost them in the long run. Those products do not impact anyone's health. This non-FDA approved supplement is another story, in my opinion.

Angharad Rees was the best Demelza. She and Robin Ellis we so great together.

Vacation House Rules - General Discussion
CalicoKitty replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in Vacation House Rules
I spoke to someone who lives in a town where they did a house on the Ty Pennington show where they redid houses for people who had disaster to their homes, or for someone with a disability---I don't remember the name of the show--it was quite a few years ago. She said the workers were there everyday until the project was done, and Ty would come to town every so often to film. He did enough work to get it on film, and then he was gone again. The crew did 99% of the work. I'm guessing that happens on most reconstruction shows. -
I loved the original Upstairs Downstairs, too. People knew not to call me Sunday nights when it was on. I just saw Pauline Collins in an Agatha Christie program--I think it was "Sparkling Cyanide". The Upstairs Downstairs "next generation" was unwatchable.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
CalicoKitty replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Josh has no idea how many people he has hurt. His wife, children, future grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews will all be tied to this scandal for years and years. The internet is forever, and Josh will be mentioned in any article, newscast or obituary tied to his family members for many, many years to come. Great parenting, Michelle and Jim Bob. Really great job. You wanted "fame". Well, you have it. -

It looks like Lori Logo from QVC. She sells "outfits" much wore than this. -
I loved the original from about 30 years ago. I hated the new one. I stopped watching after the first episode.
