  1. 90 min Talking Dead?? Not sure if I can stay up for that, might have to DVR. Well, let's do this folks, one more time.
  2. Wow, Josh McDermitt with blond hair. Looks good. Ross Marquand - that voice!
  3. MM, looking good. Probably be nice to chill out and rest on her piles of money :D
  4. T-Dog! *sniff* Andrea *meh* (sorry, Laurie) Sofia all grown up! That's it??? They must know who we REALLY want to hear from and they're hiding them for now, lol.
  5. I agree. Terminus and Gareth would be #2 for me.
  6. Lauren Cohan is a beautiful woman but that dress is HIDEOUS.
  7. Aw, Cailey Fleming (Judith) all dressed up is cute as a button. Norman looks like he washed his hair. And there's Emily Kinney (Beth).
  8. I don't have cable so watch AMC via Sling and gawd they play the same commercials over and over. The NJM one with the flamingo is especially irritating. A while back complaining about commercials was a must in the live posting topic, before all of the streaming options. Yes, I'm old.
  9. Lennie James on the Dead Carpet Everyone's looking suave.
  10. Vatos "we thought you were being eaten by dogs, man!" There are a few. S1 is still good - helps that it's only 6 episodes. I had forgotten that way back in S1 they kinda sorta tried to explain things at the CDC. Before the CDC blew up, of course :D
  11. Also, oops, I opened this topic earlier than I meant to but who cares!
  12. for the last time on the mother ship. so grab a snack, maybe some Carol cookies as we settle in to see what happens, to criticize and snark and maybe share some love are we ready???
  13. In case you're wondering, Lori and Andrea are still two of the worst written and most annoying characters on the show. 😆
  14. Love them. I hope they were all real people (there's the usual "some situations/peoples may be done for dramatization purposes" disclaimer at the beginning of each episode). I also teared up quite a few times. This was the most emotionally affecting of these specials that I've watched, so that was a feat, considering we know how it all ends. I could really appreciate the pressure on the Governor and the distress of the parents. If one of the many, many moving pieces hadn't fit, the whole thing could have been an immense tragedy. The meteorologists; the engineers; the divers; the farmers; the kids themselves. It is really an inspirational and moving story. I haven't watched it yet but there's a documentary on Netflix - interviews with the boys and their coach. I'm looking forward to that one.
  15. We'll open the live chat a bit early for the few of us still live posting and who might be watching the Dead Carpet thing or whatever they're calling it before the episode airs. I have S1 running in the background. Since I've watched every season, it shouldn't be but it IS always a surprise how bad the writing has been over the last few years. The show was never perfect but we had mostly relatable, likable characters in unique situations that we cared about (well, I did, anyhoo). We also had some humor! I don't care, if the dead are walking and eating the living, there's still going to be something to laugh about. See y'all later.

    S01.E08: The Key

Binged this over the last few days and there was a LOT going on, lol. Though I think Dark was better, this was overall a good watch and I hope we get a second season. I'm guessing that Elliott died; hence the passage and room under the grave, where Daniel gave Maura the new pyramid. Maura was so grieved she created the sims and everything got out of hand. I actually didn't realize there were 8 eps and if we had ended with everyone looking at all of the defunct ships, that would have been okay too. Of course the question is, what the hell is the unknown brother doing?? I'm assuming the spaceship is reality, unless it's not, lol. So when we see Maura's father gloating about how everyone dies because they make the same dumb decisions - is that part of Maura's sim that she is creating or does his own personality bleed through? Are the individual memories that we see - and that others see by going through tunnels - do those stories come from Maura or the individual travelers? They are pretty terrible experience so I don't think the individuals would make them up but they are actually in 2099 so what are they remembering, if they're "real" memories. My head hurts :) Maura's father tells Daniel it was smart of Daniel to use the Prometheus to get to the Kerberos - when I think back on it, we know they are both trying to stop the sim at that point, though it seems that Maura's dad wants to restart it, giving it the appearance of an experiment. Again, was this Maura's "script" essentially, or was it her father's actual personality? Lots of interesting questions around this one. What a great cast, though the tendency to whisper dialogue was annoying. I was really intrigued in the beginning and though my interest waned a bit around ep 5, I wanted to know what happened. It'll be interesting to read everyone's thoughts! There's also a Making Of special, which was pretty good.
  17. When Beth picks up the picture of the buried trophy, the guy she picks it up from tells her to tell Grieff about the Skype call. The guy is one of Grieff's people and Grieff apparently told him to investigate Janice. About the cell, I have no idea. Judging by all of the stuff in his cell, he looked like a "favored" prisoner. I did laugh when Mary got hit by the truck. Oh, and though I had a tough time with the accent, Morag was fun. The acting was good and the whole spiral-out-of-control stuff worked (Mary sending increasingly panicked and incriminating calls and texts, for one thing) but the original premise was so ridiculous I couldn't quite get past it. I'm guessing Beth didn't write about the story in the end because of the inevitable question to her would be - she was worried about Janice yet didn't contact the police and even made a deal with the murderer to not bring Janice up again. Since it was four episodes, it was okay. I was interested enough to see it through. I guess the point is - you can say you know, but you don't actually know what awful decision you'd make until you're in the moment.
  18. I just finished ep 2 and this is bugging me. There are other houses around. The basement has windows. It was clever of her to leave DNA all over the basement, but oh, I don't know - try to break a window? Get someone's attention? That would have been clever too. She was down there quite a bit of time before he comes down with the handcuffs. Then she just acquiesces to putting them on *eyeroll* Sure, why not? He asked politely. Part of me was thinking she was enjoying being down there so she could match wits or whatever. I have to put aside the whole dumb premise that got them there. The Vicar - excuse me, fucking Vicar - actually tells Edgar "they have ways of tracing these" when talking about the flash drive. Well yeah, you idiot. You didn't realize that a day or so ago? Or maybe think that having that drive and whatever is on Edgar's computer would help find the children. I know that's not the point of the story, but they're playing it for drama, so my mind goes there. Never mind that for some reason the Vicar wants to protect Edgar. Yeah, just tell Edgar not to look at child porn again. That's the ticket. All better now! The Vicar can't even use a religious confession excuse - 1) Edgar never admits to what's on the drive 2) when Edgar gave the Vicar the drive, he just said "porn" and that he wanted to hide it from his mother. No confession involved. There are comedic elements - the Vicar rolling his eyes when Edgar collapses in the church while STILL not saying that it was his own flash drive - was funny. The series should have gone straight for 100% black comedy. The Vicar puts the bag of Janice's poop in the KITCHEN TRASH CAN without batting an eye. I'm still traumatized over that. I do enjoy Tucci and his serial killer assistant. There's the black comedy that helps offset the overall stupidity of the other stuff. The opening scene, with Janice pretending to film the harrassing scumbag and then everyone else actually filming him, was great.
  19. That's a fan made trailer so *insert shrug emoji, my emojis have disappeared*.
  20. Damn, Luther. Nice moves. Interesting that Maarva died offscreen. I was starting to wonder if it were some kind of fake out but decided maybe there's a cut scene somewhere. The "big guy" agreeing to spend the night at Maarva's place because of the sad droid will probably turn out to be a good move. Poor Bix, though. It was still more surprising to me that no one discovered Cassian's box of goodies in the hotel room. Was that supposed to be the room's safe or does no one clean up there? Wouldn't the safe show that it's locked? Oh well. Oof, so Mon Mothma's daughter's teen rebellion takes the shape of wanting to go back to the old ways, which are kind of creepy. The scene between MM and Vel was a favorite - Vel goes from indignant to understanding and MM is torn apart. I liked this because at first it seems that Vel is being set up as a loose cannon type but we get more depth from her here. Everyone's going to collide around Maarva's home? Will Bix and Karn die? I keep thinking why would Cassian go back there but maybe it's to say goodbye, thinking with her death the heat is not quite as hot. I did laugh at the guy who answered Cassian's transmission and Cassian's frustration "no names!" .
