I figured this was coming months ago. Even expected Ron would probably try to pull it off for Valentine's Day. Allie will feel guilty for accusing Tripp and tarnishing his name when he did nothing but try to help her, and she'll fall for him. He'll be dumb enough to become sweet on her and help her raise his nephew. Plus, Allie's pool of suitors in this town is scarce since she's related to both the Bradys and Hortons. Tripp as a Johnson & Vitalli would be fair game so to speak. Sad, but true.

While in the real world I'd never want to see a rapist go free, I do want to see Charlie stick around on screen longer as he's become an intriguing character and the actor shows range. We don't get that often enough on Days these days so I hope Ron doesn't do one of his abrupt wrap ups. I'd like to see more character exploration on the fact that Charlie is Henry's father and his portrayal thus far is that he's trying to divorce that fact in his mind, and I'd like to see his own father come in to play for additional character development with him and Ava. I would love to see this all come full swing with an 'aha' reveal for Jake to turn out to be his dad. After all, he came from Philly where Charlie supposedly grew up and the Vitali's still are, and Jake had ties to the mob. I think there'd be great potential for the dynamics between Jake and Ava. And it could even throw some interest into Jake's eye-roll worthy infatuation with Kate. How would Kate feel if she found out she was sleeping with the father of her granddaughter's rapist? dun-dun-dun-dun -
I don't know how they plan to build that romance, but if it gets her off her obsession with Steve I'm all for it.

I know they are filming differently because of Covid but the complaints about today's episode had to do with what was airing. The show always has been and still is a mix of different sets of characters that can vary day to day due to how they are edited. It's simply a matter of them not waiting till Monday or Tuesday to pick up with where they left off with the Charlie storyline from yesterday. Either way it's already been filmed. -

Agree, it was silly that Kayla made it sound like no one had even taken a blood sample. An IV and blood drawn is usually about the first thing done in the ER by a nurse. It would have been a better line of dialogue for Kayla to say they were still waiting for the results. Now that could hold a doctor up if the lab was busy. But Kayla has become a one woman show at the hospital while Sarah is hauled up in a hotel room for over a week talking baby talk w/Zander who wasn't even paying attention. I think it's time to move Sarah to the field of Pediatrics where her cutesy voice might at least seem a little relevant and explain why she isn't around to treat the adult patients. Thankfully there is no correlation between breast size and milk production, not to mention that frequent feedings and drinking lots of water increases production. Trust me, I'm not well endowed and nursed both of mine for over a year. I do hope though that Valerie bought Lani a double electric model pump and not a single manual one for efficiency and time constraints...and for the fact that till she gets the twins back she's going to need to pump. -

Eli: “How do two babies go missing from a damn hospital?” Um, it’s University Hospital, Eli; ya know the one where DNA tests get switched all the time. And not just test results, but the actual babies at times too. You really have to ask how this could happen? The better question is why do people who commit kidnapping crimes always stroll through Murder Park with the stolen kids? Ditto to both of these things! I felt the same way! The one day NBC doesn't disrupt scheduled programing and it's all the most boring storylines. I remember the good old days when Fridays were not only the most action day but also the major storylines advancing to a climax & cliffhanger that would be guaranteed to be continued on Monday. Today should have been the Charlie exposure, Ava at the hospital, and Gwen's vendetta. Instead we probably won't get them till next Tues. -

I'm hoping Charlie's character stays on screen as even when he's exposed as Allie's rapist and responsible for holding Ava against her will, there will still be a long term fall out as the father of Henry so possibilities for the more to the storyline and Charlie's character and psychosis. -

First, a big thanks to the Canadian posters for filling in the details of yesterday’s show. I think you just saved me tracking down that episode. And please know this southern neighbor in the US envies you immensely (after yesterday and the last four years I don’t imagine I need to explain that one). I saw almost all of today's show but if anyone can fill in the last 10 minutes which I lost to another news break I'd appreciate it. I assume we haven't gotten a deeper explanation yet on why Charlie raped Allie specifically or perhaps psychologically. It seems from his interactions with Claire that he neither is attracted to Allie nor is his usual MO that of a sexual predator. In fact, Claire seems to be the one most anxious to advance their physical relationship so I'm left wondering if he went after Allie because he wanted something he thought his brother wanted or to set his brother up. Same here. I hated Ava when she was on before but when she doesn't have an obsession with Steve and Kayla she is much more enjoyable. She's doing well with the current material. THIS bugged the hell out of me six years ago. Sami was the wronged party and Abigail was the one in the wrong, but you'd never know from the way the so-called good citizens of Salem reacted. I did too. That was funny. Yes, it's Hope's house. Presumably Belle and Shawn were staying there, and are still looking after the house while Hope is gone. -
Impregnation via a dead man's "essence" must qualify as a conjugal visit. 😁

Kate Mansi made Abs a spoiled, sanctimonious, self-entitled, self-serving snob. MM isn't nearly as grating. In fact, MM looks less like KM and more like a younger Amy Steel (sounds like her voice too) from '80s horror movies (Friday the 13th II, April Fools Day). So maybe that's why I don't mind MM nearly as much. That doesn't mean I haven't forgotten Abs's past and still long for the day that Ab has Chad's ONS w/Gwen rubbed in her face just so she might finally have a moment where she realizes how shitty what she did to Sami was when she crawled in bed...and the shower...and the hospital closet... w/EJ. THIS! So true!

I have to wonder if Charlie secretly trained with the Salem PD. They somehow manage to keep people handcuffed to that chair in the interrogation room for days without looking any worse for the wear. Just ask Vivian, Ben, Kristin... Aw heck, Ava could see through Kayla's solid door; surely she can puke via osmosis. 😁 Both of these things struck me too. I'm sure Allie's story has wavered from the beginning when she told it to Nicole, though it might not have as much since Marlena got involved. Angelo did seem to imply that it was not only preposterous that he was with Allie but that he was with any woman. -

Every time Jennifer (CM) is on screen I forget it's actually Jennifer. MR started on there as a teenager; she is Jennifer. I don't always like Jennifer, but she's it none the less. I still miss original Chad. He wasn't a dork like the current one. And that's part of the problem with recasts, what happens isn't telling the rest of their story so much as it's rewriting their character. This! With ya 100% -

This! Yes! I've often thought it's odd we've never gotten an adult Andrew Donovan. He was such a huge deal as a baby. There's also Allie's siblings, Sydney and Johnny up for grabs. I'd even be okay with Stefanie Johnson and Jeremy Horton recast as the previous ones didn't do much to establish the character. Kind-of like how the actresses before Kristin Alfonso and Mary Beth Evans didn't own' those characters. But people like Vivian and EJ should be left alone if the actor/actress who has put the character on the map is no longer available. Days needs to learn it's okay to let sleeping dogs lie. Heck, Orpheus was off screen for over 2 decades and while I missed his character, I wouldn't want to see anyone else try to play him. GD makes him who he is. -

My own teenager said the same thing today when they were own. Thought Allie and Claire talked more like 14 year olds instead of 22 year olds. I had to agree. -

Ron must pride (and delude) himself as the next Ryan Murphy making seasons of American Horror Story. It's a horror all right but not one likely to earn him any Emmys. Hell it's been over 20 years and I still see Josh Taylor as Chris Kostichek, not Roman. Of course it doesn't help that there was no change in appearance...or the fact that Roman now runs a restaurant and comments on other character's plots much like Chris used to do. Worse yet was CdP as Eve. I never bought it. Several inches taller and a distinct twang to her voice sure didn't help. The revolving door of cast members isn't working for Days. -

Days needs to stop with these recasts. If they want to bring on a new actor/actress than write an original compelling character for them. Recasting major players/established characters is a major flop and a huge turn-off. My finger is itching on the change channel button. -

“Do you have any idea how paranoid that sounds?” says the person who’s been convinced his wife was having an affair for the last month when she wasn’t. Gwen apparently didn’t do that great of research. She missed the news clipping where Jack raped Kayla. That little piece of scandal is his worst doing and it gets brushed aside too much. When Charlie said there was nothing Ava could do after she ate a healthy dose of drugged soup, it would have been funny if Ava would have puked on his floor. -
It would be nice if we got a scene where Steve tests out his theory of Allie's attacker being a relative on Ava's side by walking in to Kayla's office and asking her to DNA test him. He shouldn't share any DNA and that should be the first step in casting doubt on Tripp being the rapist/father.

I assume most hospitals these days keep the baby in room and rarely use the antiquated nursery. I delivered my oldest in the early 2000s (in a not progressive town at that) and we were in the same room the whole time. It's much more conducive to bonding, nursing, and safety. What struck me about Lanni's birth is that she delivered on Christmas but didn't get released till New Years! Since she had no complications nor did the babies they should have gone home in 24-48 hours, not a week. Then again since Kayla's a jack of all medical trades maybe it took her that long to write up the discharge paperwork since Sarah has been busy playing amateur sleuth. -

After Jennifer and Lucas questioned Julie's friend--the desk clerk at the Salem Inn--who said Kate checked in with a man whose name started with J but did not look like the picture of Jack that Lucas showed him, Abby put two and two together, figured out it was Kate and Jake, (also confronted Jake who confessed) and told her mom...and Tony and Ana. -

I've noticed too. In fact, sometimes I think Brady is most pissed about Kristin's imprisonment because it means he's stuck taking care of their daughter. He sure seems happy to pawn her off on any willing babysitter. -

My gawd, why does the Grant twins sound like an air pump?!?! Is that the reason they stayed in the hospital a week because the twins have severe sinus problems? Or does University Hospital still have a 1970's maternity plan? Also if little Julia grows up to admire her namesake she is sooo screwed. Jennifer whispering to Kate, "I won't tell anyone about your relationship with Jake." Forgets to add, "But my daughter will tell everyone." -
Just what we need, another Julie on the show. It's time Days couples come up with their own original names that reflect the current generation. It's as if Salem doesn't have internet access where these new moms could look up dozens of baby name websites.

Ya know the day before when they were standing next to each other I momentary thought 'wonder if Kate's gonna hook up with him [Philip] next?' Then I remembered they were mother and son. Maybe it's time the show tones down Kate's village bicycle routine. -

Yeah I caught the line where he said that, but I sort-of side eyed it cause it looks like he lives in an apartment building. I suppose if Charlie is super crazy and paranoid he could have bought out the other units around him. But either way, Claire probably wouldn't have known he didn't have neighbors since Ava assumed he did too.
