  1. Curtis was the victim in the latest Shooting That Will Change Everything? Snore.
  2. Incredibly sad, my first thought when I saw the articles was that she was so young, only 66. I wasn't watching during any of the Tinas' heydays so I mostly knew the character from Evans' 2011 run and various YouTube clips. It always struck me that Evans, like an Ilene Kristen, could play big and broad, but could also devastate you if the moment called for it.
  3. On Sundays, Scott Evans (Oliver Fish) wears pink to the "Barbie" premiere in LA:
  4. I do still wonder, if PP OLTL had come back for more episodes, where they were planning to go with the cliffhanger of Natalie walking in on Alison Perkins drugging Clint. Two of my favorites in the clutches of one of my favorite villains...color me intrigued! It's Kim! In various story musings for my Kish fanfic universe, I always pictured Kim trying to assert her presence and/or Stacy's in Sierra's life and, intentionally or not, poking holes in the more sanitized origin story that Sierra got from Fish, Kyle, Gigi, etc. Those revelations, of course, would then inspire some soapy teen rebellion antics from Sierra. As for people you didn't mention, Roxy would still be living in Llanview, running the Angel Square Hotel, and building a strong mother/son relationship with Schuyler. And as for Sky, given Roscoe Born is sadly no longer with us, if they wanted to dip back into the Cult of Mitch Laurence well one more time, I picture a story where the remnants of the cult snatch up Sky - Mitch's one blood heir - and try to force him to assume leadership.
  5. Is this the week we see Jackson Montgomery in Pine Valley? I'm happy that, instead of him being Drew's lawyer (which was my guess when the casting was announced), he's apparently going to be in-story with Lucy and Felicia.
  6. It was definitely a contrived reason to put Charity and Chloe in the same room, but there's been worse on this show. And it was super satisfying for Charity to pour the welly of beer all over her. My biggest problem with Chloe is that the actress isn't nearly strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Emma Atkins.
  7. I can't decide if the show having Nate and Tracy immediately reunite, let alone get married, when the actress returned was rather clever or rather shortsighted. And there's David continuing to be so, sooo pathetic, with his babbling congratulations. Please, Show, just get rid.
  8. More Scott Evans (Oliver Fish) "Barbie" press: https://www.out.com/out-exclusives/barbie-scott-evans I appreciated that this article actually talked about him - as a gigging actor, how he felt getting to work with Greta freakin' Gerwig, etc. - before it got all "Cap's brother!" about it. And again a passing mention of his time on OLTL.
  9. On one hand, I get Jai having a reaction to the adoption news, especially given the poor way Rishi has approached it and tried to brush it off. On the other, he's kinda acting like a teenager who found out this news versus an adult who has a blended family of his own and who has been through much bigger crises. So we are
  10. Poor Jai, stuck in this boring pairing with Laurel and now finding out he's adopted and Rishi (and Georgia, who I wonder if we'll see during all this) keeping it a secret all these years. It's really a far cry from the cocky showboat with the flashy car he first was when he came to Emmerdale. Gabby threatening Nicky was pathetic. Girl, you're no Kim. But also, Nicky being all shocked Gabby's not over his deception yet was a little ridiculous.
  11. Wait, so what is this I'm reading about Ned having amnesia and thinking he's Eddie Maine? That sounds like a Ron plot the current writers found stuffed in a drawer. In other words...
  12. The problem for me it's how fast they moved through this storyline, both the whodunit and the fallout.
  13. "Neighbours" is back in September! They also announced a new family, which made me realize that the cast still feels pretty thin. I wonder if it will feel scaled down or they're holding back some of the cast announcements.
  14. I actually thought it was a fresher idea that they brought Mandy back with a kid but DIDN'T make him a secret child of Paddy's, a la Jimmy/Kelly/Elliot, Marlon/Donna/April, etc.
  15. Given the "Barbie" of it all, I'm expecting a lot of capital F Fashion from the players during the press tour lol.
  16. Let the Scott Evans (Oliver Fish) "Barbie" promotional tour begin! Here he is on the cover of Attitude Magazine: OLTL does get name-checked in the article... I kinda wish they had they had interrogated that more, brought up how badly the show buckled.
  17. Given how the show promoted it, the whole "Who Pushed Caleb?" thing was a pretty lame whodunit. Lame that the show didn't name Nicky as an official suspect, lame that it unraveled on-screen in like three days, lame that the shaky alibis the other suspects had didn't launch any kind of interesting new story. They're really playing all of Belle's greatest hits within this Tom story with the Lachlan drama this week. What's next, Will Wylde shows up to fight Tom for her heart (...I would actually kinda love that, I loved the Wyldes!)? Are we supposed to care that Chas is having Feelings about Paddy being with Mandy? Girl, you made this bed.
  18. So the 2017 season is now on Amazon FreeVee. Because this is the year with the Fake Dee story - which, with Izzy's return in 2018, is what got me into watching "Neighbours" - I decided to skip around in this year and thought it'd be fun to share some thoughts. So the first episode of 2017: - I either forgot or never knew that the Dee storyline starts with Toadie's brother showing him a photo he took of someone who appears to be Dee. So Toadie is freaking out about this and ends up hiring an investigator to look into it. - Toadie doesn't tell Sonya about any of this because she just found that she's pregnant with the surrogate baby for Steph and Mark, who just got engaged. I'm missing the context, but Steph is not happy at first while Mark is (Mark also is kind of an jerk bragging about how perfect his life with Steph is to Paige, his ex). I don't really buy Steph and Mark as a couple, and Mark feels out of place with her/Sonya/Toadie. - Speaking of Paige, she also finds out she's pregnant and is of course torn up about it given the baby daddy is a priest. I was kinda shocked this show let David mention she has the option to terminate. I'm also surprised Paige and David are such buddies, I thought that came later once he got with Aaron. Piper and Tyler (who, I guess, were popular as a couple, but who I was mostly bored by) are dating and sneaking around, but get busted by Terese (hilariously, the scene of her stumbling across them is scored by the horror movie Piper and Tyler are watching). Despite Piper's whining, both Terese and Brad refuse to budge on letting them date, and Mark turns down Tyler when he asks to move Piper in. Also, I learned that Tyler was with both Paige AND Imogen before Piper and chuckled again at how often this show has characters date siblings/family members. - Leo and David are here and both have terrible hair. Leo also grossly hits on Paige. - This is a season with the terrible opening credits where the actors awkwardly stand in front of what are clearly green screen images.
  19. Re: Charity and Caleb's hookup. I was at first focusing on the sleeping with Cain's brother part, but then realized that Charity has now slept with all three of Frank Tate's children. BTW, I know the actress has passed, but is Zoe still alive in-universe? In other news...why is David still on this show? He's been wrung dry as a character.
  20. I agree that Caleb would be worth keeping and I suspect Nicky...eh? I like Ally more of the two, but he seems to be done with Nicky for good after finding out the full extent of the scheme. But they have dropped lots of mentions of Nicky's mom so I suspect that will be a story avenue they drive down soon. Speaking of Caleb, I did think it was a nice touch that they had a scene of him connecting with the other Dingle/Tate hybrid, Noah.
  21. Ally yesterday: If I don't hear from you by the morning, we're 100% over. Ally today: Hi, me again to be your doormat! But I did kinda like that it was Gabby offering Nicky fatherhood of Thomas that finally steeled his resolve, given what we've seen between him and Caleb.
  22. Uh oh. Ally is cute and sweet (if a bit of a doormat), but him proposing to Nicky makes me think he's not long for this soap world. I'm worried Caleb might do something to him, accidentally or not.
  23. Given the casting news, I assume Jackson Montgomery is going to be Drew's lawyer so they can do the whole "You look familiar" thing.
  24. This week's enraging promo: Drew: Somebody has to go down. Me: Yeah, you and Carly, BECAUSE YOU ARE G-U-I-L-T-Y!
