I read that Toronto isn't letting the Bluejays back into the country to play baseball. So if they're not allowed in, I guess a couple of guys from one of the hottest hotspots in Texas may not be, either.

You Know You Watch Too Much Supernatural When....
trudysmom replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Yes. I usually even say, even if I'm alone, hey that's a Supernatural song. It's one of the things I miss most about the shows glory days. -
I watched it. It was good to see Misha, live and in person. I was just a tad disappointed that when asked a direct question about what Biden would do, his guest deflected the question. I know it doesn't look good to say "I don't know", and in reality she probably doesn't know, but it came across (to me) as typical political speak. Still, good going, Misha. His guest also commented on all the ❤️'s for Misha, all the 'I love you's'. lol. Girl don't come on Misha's insta and expect it all to be about you!

Season 5 on TNT. Dean looked exceptionally handsome today. That's all I have to say. Just that. 🙃 😷😷😷 from Texas😷😷😷

I read JP's 'manifesto' on twitter. I think many of us are struggling with how to change and be better people going forward. Memorial Day changed America, no doubt. I'm thankful my children are grown and I don't have to have that difficult conversation with them. I'm even more thankful that they are amazing, tolerant, caring adults who (from what I see), managed to grow to adulthood without racial bias despite that never being a lesson we expressly talked about at home. Maybe we should have, though. I wish JP had offered real concrete examples of what he/we can do to change tide because I, for one, am struggling to figure that out in my own life. He has the power, the voice of celebrity to do real good in that area, I hope to see how he uses it.

I was afraid it was going to be something like that, UKgirl71. I saw something on twitter last night about how they were 'regrouping' or some such today, in light of 'current events'. Really not fair in my opinion. If ever there was a time people need to come together for some light hearted, frivolous fun, it's now.

Sorry, but my list are hits. Like I said, as the series wore on and Andre Badd got worse, well, slim pickin's for any real content. OH, I left off one of my all time favorite episodes: Clap Your Hands if You Believe. Season 6 I think, soulless Sam is funny and doesn't have a stick up his butt, Dean is funny and frustrated. It's one I go to just to sit back and clear my head. Early episodes of season six blow me away anyhow with how pretty Dean is all clean and domesticated. Damn.

The only 'skippable' for me is Bloodlines, until season 11. Once Amara comes along I kind of drift away, but even that season has some great episodes. LOVE Thin Lizzie (except the final creepy Amara scene), Safe House and Into the Mystic. Season 12, First Blood, Regarding Dean, Family Fued. (disclaimer: My opinions are slightly skewed because I loathe MotherMary) Season 13: Advancded Thanology, Scoobynatural Season 14: Mint Condition, Don't go in the Woods. Yeah, slim pickin's after season 11. I would still watch the show in it's entirety, maybe FF through painfully bad scenes now that I know to expect them. Your mileage my vary, of course.

Last weekend I tuned in to see them back in their 'backyard', together. Turned it off. I was enjoying the zoom style show of them each at home, so much easier to watch than them yelling over each other. Oh well.

When we were first given the stay at home orders in March, online work was optional, only because the district felt it had to ease the pressures families were suddenly facing. "Give them time to get their feet under them" was the phrase our principal used. Gradually the work loads increased, grades were definitely taken. It was decided that the 3rd quarter (Jan-March) would be the final grade for those who either did zero work for the 4th quarter, or if they were already failing, it was a chance to catch up and bring up those grades without missing out on new instruction. For the most part our district has been very successful with online learning. It's not ideal but with many many many Zoom meetings they managed to make it work.

Dean kicking his ASS. The yes I'd be on board. I really only came here to tell you I love your screen name, Dr. Pepper, and also you're namesake to which I am hopelessly addicted.

Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion
trudysmom replied to Aethera's topic in Spring Baking Championship
Arin's cake just made me think of a deck of cards, all black and red. Other bakers have done disco balls in the past, that would have been cool. I like alot of the ideas posters have offered here, poodles, mod flowers. But if they only had minutes to decide on design, they did the best they could. Not a terrible season, but I'm glad it's over, lol. -
Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
trudysmom replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
I don't usually watch, but being at home instead of at work my son enjoys the lightness of the show, as opposed to hard, depressing news. I remember Kelly and Mark from All my Children days. She went through a wild child phase, and snuck out to go to a "Metalunica" concert, LMAO. I miss my old soap opera watching, escapism at it's finest. I had wondered if Kelly used a smallish space in her house for doing the show from because of her family being there. When I have zoom meetings, I go to my bedroom and shut the door, because my family is using the rest of the house, as they should since we can't leave it. Maybe it's a consideration thing, like that. Kelly mentioned one day last week that her family is eating tons of cereal. I wonder if she is, too. Probably not because she doesn't look like she's gained an ounce. Unlike me who has gained a good 15 lbs. so far. -
Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion

Mine too. For what it's worth Walmart bakery carries a small blackberry cobbler that is surprisingly not bad. I needed one last winter when I couldn't get fresh berries and it was pretty good. I never made a buckle, I think it's a northern states kind of thing? A few crisps, and plenty of cobblers. Crisps though, meh. Mostly my thing with this challenge was the necessity of making little individual ones in ramekins, instead of one large dessert. I guess with the time constraints though, they had to. -
What a hard episode to watch. Reese was great as the puzzled/enraged/grieving mom. She's really managed to do a number on her family. Screaming at the girls like she did, to me she finally snapped. She's so puzzled, "where I do go wrong? I just wanted to help", she really cannot see that all her machinations have backfired. I'm most bothered that Mia and Bebe appear to have a happy ending. They have their daughters, it looks as though all is forgiven between Pearl and Mia. For however long Bebe has MayLing, she's happy. But the 2 rich white women are heartbroken. Is this supposed to be some kind of lesson? Money doesn't buy happiness or something? Sad.

THIS is why I love the Baby episode so much. All of the scenes together are so brotherly. The roadhouse (yes Sam has a stick up his butt about it), the singing Night Moves (love!), but mostly the car conversation after daddy slipped behind the wheel and talked to Sam. Maybe because they sound so relaxed, so Texan, in that scene, I rewatch it over and over. But they felt like brothers in that episode, that's what I love about it.

All too true. However, people, especially teens faced with pressure for the first time in their lives, tend to think it's only happening to them. They can't see outside themselves. I don't say this to absolve Lexi of all the crap she's pulled AT ALL. All the kids are keeping secrets from parents, friends, each other because they can't see anyone else's side. That's a failing on the parent's part. Elena prides herself on being progressive, "my daughter has a black boyfriend", but it's for show. But has she or Bill taught the kids anything about empathy? I mean Izzy seems to try, but it only adds to her role as family outcast. Good point. I think Elena and her friends like to think they aren't racist, again, Lexi's boyfriend, but it's a facade. Part of what frightens Elena is facing her own biases, which she denies even to herself. But I think, I want to believe, that Linda is a good mother to Maybelle/MayLing. After having to go through labor for a stillborn baby, I can only hope she would be a super helicopter over protective mom.

I'm sorry but it looks like to me more like Mia saw a way to hurt some rich white people, Elena in particular. She manipulated her way into the birthday party, snuck around their house to get to the baby. Neither she nor Bebe have given any thought to what's best for the little girl, they only hear their own "mothers first" mantra. And what about the effect of being taken from the only home she has known would have on that little girl? It's cruel. Elena is mostly pissed at Mia for not being appropriately grateful to her for her 'generosity' in renting her the house and giving her a job in her home. She didn't expect Mia to have a spine. Lexi reminds me of Clair in Breakfast Club. "You don't understand the pressure!" To be perfect, which yes, I can see from Elena. Izzy pulled her Cabbage Patch stunt more for shock value than any real statement. She wanted Mia to be proud of her, she just doesn't know how to make that happen. What I hope for most is that her friends keep the baby and Bill lets Elena have it big time over her stay in New York. He's not stupid, he knows about Jamie. Edited to add: Why is Mia still living in Elena's rent house?? Why hasn't she moved out or why hasn't Elena kicked her out?
