  1. Hi, Darian! That episode of Fear Thy Neighbor freaked the hell outta me, too! haha! And welcome to PTV.
  2. Where IS everyone? I miss all of you! I'm not crazy about all the changes to PTV, either, but we can't hide! A few days ago Amazon forced me into an update on my Kindle that I didn't like, either, but I'm still reading my books. C'mon, everyone -- last week I saw TWO "new" shows on ID that were re-hashes of stories I'd seen on 20/20 (one of 'em was on House of Horrors...Kidnapped, a show I've liked except for the FUCKING PROMO'S THEY AIR 47 TIMES/DAY!!!). Okay...I didn't come on here to bitch because of the changes, but I'm wondering if this forum still works! Anybody?!? (....crickets....) AKraven...Walnutqueen...Brattinella.....???? No snark from ANY of you guys?!?
  3. There was a program on 20/20 or one of those shows years ago titled "Fatal Desire" about a woman in Flint, Michigan (Sharee Miller) who convinced a man from Reno, Nevada she met online to kill her husband. She's now serving life in prison. Apparently the Judge & prosecutor just received a typewritten letter from her admitting her guilt for the first time. They believe the letter is authentic. What a frickin' lying scumbag that woman is. Anyhow, you can read it for yourself -- what do you think? Is the letter real? I'll bet it is. My guess is she's hoping it'll help her get out of prison earlier. NOT! http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2016/04/sharee_miller_admits_guilt_in.html
  4. Brattinella - often when I see these shows & don't recall the story I think of what was going on my my life at the time. To be honest, I really didn't become an avid "news junkie" like I am now until I retired in 2009. Obviously, I had more time to actually READ the news. Anyhow, after your post, I decided to Google the event, and holy shit, it was even worse than they could've shown in TV. No question each of those kids required some serious therapy afterwards. Just horrific. P.S. You're so lucky to have lived in the Bay area! I've been to SF a half dozen times & would love to live there!!! Cost prohibitive, to be sure. (I'm from Michigan.) http://articles.latimes.com/1990-09-27/news/mn-1915_1_uc-berkeley-student
  5. Last night's Deadly Demands re: the students from UC-Berkeley held hostage inside a bar was most riveting. That's actually a pretty good show & I've yet to see an episode (tho there've only been a few so far) that I'd heard about before. Those hostage negotiators have an extremely high stress job, ya think? I can't even imagine.
  6. I've enjoyed Web of Lies until last night's episode, "Catfished" (term I've never heard) about the cute San Diego h.s. senior who posted half-nude pics of herself to her iCloud account ("password protected" she said) then sent them out to her girlfriends & boyfriend. These people who do this never cease to amaze me, but we're talking about a teenager in this story, so... Anyhow, the show does prove the dangers of the internet, and that's a good thing. Many years ago my brother, who was an internet geek, told me something I've never forgotten: "Don't EVER put anything on the internet that you don't want posted on the front page of the paper." Good advice, indeed.
  7. Here's another pretty damn funny skit ("Vacation Nightmares") from Saturday Night Live about ID shows: http://www.hulu.com/watch/925361
  8. Bastet - Same thing for me...I found a house for him (per his instruction for me to find one for him) 18 years ago...I found it & it's a beauty, but I've kept MY residence 4 miles away in a really great apartment that I love! We talk several times/day (at least) and have dinner a couple times a week. My sweet Granddaughters absolutely ADORE him and refer to him as their "Grandpa." Hey...works for us! (UNTIL we go on vacation & are forced into the same room to sleep!!!!)
  9. Bastet - thank you! I was extremely rude to him despite knowing he couldn't help it. Of course, he eats like a fucking pig, while I (have always) consistently watched my weight, and this only makes me madder because I've worked my whole life to stay slim. He had a heart stent (major artery) put in 2 years ago, & altho his doc told him he needed to lose 40 lbs., he's only lost about 10 near as I can see. Good thing we don't live together, eh? And are you ready for this? He's an M.D.!!!! (retired) He's 2 years younger than me. People say to me, "What a great guy! Why haven't you ever married?!" (We've been "together" 21 years) My response is always the same: "Because I couldn't afford the attorney fees." They say, "For what?" I say, "FIRST DEGREE MURDER!!!" Seriously!
  10. First of all - kudos to everyone who lambasted the tabloids/internet sites that show women celebrities in "the autumn of their life" who (they purport) haven't aged gracefully. I've just returned from my first vacation in 5 years and was forced to wear a bathing suit IN PUBLIC because I had the opportunity to swim with dolphins w/my 8 & 10 y.o. Granddaughters! I was mortified, but I did it! I'll be 65 in July, and let me tell you...my bod in a bathing suit is NOT pretty! I'm 5'3" and 110 lbs. Skin hanging...ass sagging...little or no muscle tone...I could go on & on. But hey -- up until 15-20 years ago I was a BABE! REALLY! I had my time and it was great, but it's reality now & there's little I can do about it & that's that. It's life, for chrissakes! I'm currently reading "Let's Just Say It Wasn't Pretty" by Diane Keaton, and she talks at length about her aging process (she's had NO plastic surgery yet). I recommend it. My pet peeve: SNORING!!! Oh.My.God. During our vacation, my "significant other" (man) shared the same hotel room w/me & my Granddaughters, and I'm certain I didn't get more than 4 hours' sleep a night. It was absolutely horrible! I even brought a "white noise" machine, but even that wouldn't work to lessen the sound. I was exhausted every day, fairly bitchy & I finally got sick w/sore throat & cough. Note: When we first started dating he didn't snore AT ALL. He's gained 40 lbs. since. I've read that even skinny people snore, however, I'm so pissed at him right now I can hardly see straight. He does NOT have sleep apnea -- trust me...I was awake for hours & he never once gasped for air. Can we talk about snoring? And PLEASE tell me how you married people survive it? At this point I swear to God I will NEVER go on another vacation with him again unless he books TWO ROOMS!!!!!
  11. RealityCowgirl - how is it possible that her recent collection is even worse? Hard to imagine considering the past few years her dresses show everything on a woman's body except her vajayjay. Oops -- maybe she's now designed one with a cut-out in lace for THAT?!? haha! Anyway - could you post a couple pics on here? I'd love to see 'em!
  12. LOL! I'll be watching for sure, too.
  13. Wow! Two shows in a row last night that were very interesting & I'd never heard of before (honest!). I was, however, familiar with the Vanity Fair Confidential segment featuring Jack Kevorkian because I live in Michigan, but not the other (service?) that apparently still offers assisted suicides in quite a few states. I don't know how I missed reading about the shooting rampage in Silicon Valley in 1988 (on Deadly Demands). Good God ... how horrific was that?! Both shows were done well & I didn't fall asleep during either one! Amazing.
  14. This doesn't ring a bell for me, but 5 or 10 minutes in I'll no doubt recall if I've seen before. See...that's the good thing about having CRS disease (Can't Remember Shit) -- everything is new again! (I really shouldn't make fun like this at my age - really could happen!)
  15. LOL!!!! Ain't it the truth! Thanks, again, WQ!
  16. walnutqueen - Thanks much! Don't know how I missed it but I'll catch it Saturday - really appreciate you checking.
  17. Did I miss this show or hasn't it aired yet? I know you guys are discussing it above, but it's not ringing any bells for me. And, of course, they're not promo-ing it 47 times a day (or even once that I've seen) like they do SOME shows. Thanks!
  18. ARGHHHHH!!!!! Yep -- that's the one!
  19. THANK YOU, stillhere1900!!! I feel better! We should have a sub-category for this forum: "Things that bug the SHIT out of us about the I.D. Channel." Of course, that would have so many comments, this one probably wouldn't have any. ha! Problem is, they have just enough "new" stories it keeps me watching...and hoping it'll get better.
  20. Is anyone else sick to death of the constant commercial for House of Horrors-Kidnapped?! It's shown about every other commercial. Oh.My.God. Yes, I know - I watch I.D. channel way too much.
  21. Wow! Just finished watching Surviving Evil "Mind Games." As we all know, there are some very good shows on I.D., albeit not often, and this in my opinion, was one of them. Highly recommend for you guys to watch (don't wanna give anything away). I really DO like Charisma Carpenter as the host, and believe she most certainly did experience a horrific ordeal when she was younger. So what did you guys think of this episode? Pretty gripping, eh?
  22. xyzzy - Glad you got a chance to watch the ID channel for the first time. Not to worry -- if you get cable in the future & watched it often like we all do, you'd be bitchin' like crazy like all of us due to the redundancy of programs/stories & horrible acting/recreations/narrators we intensely dislike! And BTW, you are NOT a jerk for thinking this way! In fact, you're right on the money :) I do kinda hope you get cable so you can join our discussions! You'd be a very welcome addition!
  23. I know this has been around for awhile, but it came on last night & I still laugh every time I see Brooke Shields get knocked over by the elephant's trunk! http://www.ispot.tv/ad/77sP/la-z-boy-elephant-in-the-room
  24. Me, apparently - especially when it comes to dumb shows on the I.D. Channel! BTW, Brattinella, your Boxer doggy is WAY cute! Is that a cigar you're letting him smoke? Shame, shame! haha!
  25. Thank you, Brattinella, for giving me a re-cap that I'm SO happy I didn't have to waste my time watching! So do tell -- what's happening in her HER life now? Did she divorce him? Did she get married again to another wonderful man?
