  1. RE: Keeping up consistency. I haven't done a re-watch but I seem to recall that when giving the rules for the challenge telling the chefs they'll be cooking for 200, we hear Padma tell them to be sure to keep up their consistency, but we don't see her saying it to them. I remember thinking that her voice had a different tone when presenting this information. It may have been a voice-over, edited in after the fact to back up the judges' decision to PYKAG Garrett. Of course, consistency should be a given for the level of chefs represented here, but I think a point was being made. I didn't remember this while I was watching JT but I think Garrett's elimination was foreshadowed.
  2. Aaron Sorkin has received a Golden Globes' nomination for Best Screenplay for Steve Jobs. If you're a fan of the film--I am. I thought it was brilliant--you'll be pleased to know that Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet also received nominations. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/la-et-mn-golden-globes-2016-nominees-winners-list-story.html
  3. It's All Connected. :) I actually laughed out loud when he said it!
  4. Agent Carter was named in Variety as one of the 20 Best New Shows of 2015. http://variety.com/2015/tv/features/best-new-shows-2015-1201655875/

  6. DVR ALERT! Tonight's episode is super-sized; scheduled for 10:00 p.m.-11:15 p.m.
  7. That was my assumption as Jarvis seemed to know all about it.
  8. New promo. Check out Peggy's tricked out new car!
  9. This had me smiling! Tracee Ellis Ross appeared onstage in Las Vegas with her mother to sing "Lady Sings the Blues." Wonderful moment. TER commented about it on her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/TraceeEllisRossOfficial/?fref=nf Here is the video. Enjoy!
  10. Thanks so much for that! I've been thinking about it but hadn't searched it out yet this season.
  11. I've watched every episode of this show and truthfully I was ready to give up on it. IMO, a few of the previous stories were cringe-worthy. I find several of the characters unlikeable (Jen in particular, but also Heather and IMO there's a creepy factor to Tim. If we never see Chad again, I'll be happy.) But, I really like both brothers, and of course, Grandma and Grandpa. The kids are great. But this 8th episode was very good. Each of the four short stories was funny and touching and hit all the right notes. If the writers can keep this up, I may just stick around.
  12. Huge spoiler regarding the episode set to air on December 17th. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/aaf8f72711884c85b3f520954f71fabc/last-sheldon-amy-take-big-step-big-bang-theory
  13. Honestly, this saddens me. Amanda Brown is, without a doubt, my favorite contestant ever on The Voice and I have watched every season. This girl should be a star; the one up front and yet, here she is right back where she was before The Voice, singing background for Adele. I suppose she's still one of the lucky ones if she's able to make her living as a vocalist but she should be SO much more. :( BTW, the link didn't work for me. I found the video by searching YouTube though.
  14. Yes, I have! I liked it. I only watched it (on Netflix, not sure if it's still there) because I had read the joint memoir penned by Martin Sheen and Emelio Estevez called Along the Way: The Journey of a Father and Son. It's a wonderful book with chapters going back and forth between Martin and Emelio with interludes on the filming of the movie The Way, in which Martin starred and Emelio directed. What was very interesting about the book is that each of them would reflect on a specific time or event--for example while Martin was filming Apocalypse Now in the Philippines he took his family with him--and provide their own unique view of it. Worth the read for those who may be interested. Edited to add the Amazon link to the book: http://www.amazon.com/Along-Way-Journey-Father-Son-ebook/dp/B005FLPMK2/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1447742777&sr=1-3&keywords=Martin+Sheen About Charlie: I do happen to think he looks like Martin. I also think that Emelio looks like Martin. But while I think each of them looks like Martin, I don't think they look like each other. Completely subjective, of course. MMV.

  16. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's back again this season. I'm not a fan either. :/ http://www.nbc.com/the-voice/vote/rules Four episodes: Nov. 17th and 24th, Dec. 1st and 8th
  17. Cooper has answered our questions about the new baby's name and he's taking the Post and Courier to task about it! https://twitter.com/KCooperRayCHS/status/664641712984166400 In response to a tweet from the writer of the article questioning what part of her article was inaccurate, Cooper replied: https://twitter.com/KCooperRayCHS/status/664648966013751296 I Googled "Dr. St. Julien" and from a Wiki article discovered that the Doctor in question is Dr. St. Julien Ravenel! So it's a family name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Julien_Ravenel Glad Cooper cleared that up! :D

  19. I'm several days behind with this, but I was just scrolling through a bunch of red carpet photos from the CMAs and I have to say that Blake really does stick with his contestants from The Voice. It wasn't just Danielle and Cassadee that were there the other night but also RaeLynn, Meghan Linsey and Sarah Potenza. Good for all of them! Here are links to their red carpet looks for all who might be interested. 20. Does Gwen have something against people wearing glasses? I think both Korin and Braiden look better when they're wearing their glasses, not to mention that they can actually see when they do! Korin's particularly, fit her face very well and are really cute. C'mon Gwen; give the poor girl her glasses back! I like Amy overall but I wasn't impressed with her performance of "The Way You Look Tonight." I think the time has come for her to sing something from a year that begins with a 2 instead of songs that are 60+ years old. (And that's coming from a Baby Boomer, BTW.) I wasn't able to watch all of the show live as I was out last night and didn't get home until 9:10 EST. I wanted to vote though so I voted based on the iTunes studio versions, all of which were much better than the live performances. I think there were lots of nerves live. I was able to catch most of the performances I missed On Demand earlier today. A couple of comments based on the studio vs. live versions: I'm delighted that Gwen brought Ellie back as she's one of my favorites. I wish someone else could bring back Lyndsey though. :( While I enjoyed Ellie's stage presence, I thought she was a bit flat on "Ex's and Oh's". It seemed to me to be just a bit low for her. A key just a little higher would have been better. Her studio recording is very good. I usually disagree with Adam's song choices for his team members but I actually thought giving Shelby a Linda Ronstadt song was a good idea in that it's right at the intersection of country and rock. I liked Shelby's performance overall but I didn't care for the way she ended the song, which Blake said was different from what she'd done in rehearsal. Sounded as if he didn't care for it either. Her studio version was much better IMO. I didn't care for the song Gwen picked for Viktor. I understand that his falsetto is going to be highlighted each week but in the Knockouts we also got a small taste of his lower register which is very appealing. Didn't get any of that last night. I do like him and it looks as if he might now be in trouble. IMO Gwen's a fool if she doesn't bring him forward but she already eliminated both Lindsey and Ellie to advance Braiden. My bet is she'll do it again and that doesn't please me. Looking forward to tonight. I hope Blake brings back Nadjah. I really liked her.

  22. Well, if this is in some way a PR move, it worked with me. I had no interest in watching the CMAs, but after reading the article linked here and seeing that Gwen's in Nashville with Blake, I turned them on. It was going to be interesting enough with Blake and Miranda in the same building; I don't yet know if Gwen's there too but it's certainly worth a peek!
  23. It really will be interesting to see how the voting goes with Regina now having made it to the lives. That's new territory for someone over 50. We've read over the years that the demographic for The Voice tends to skew older; it will be interesting to see if an older contestant can bring out the older vote. I actually like the idea of the coaches' "bring back." I wonder how it's going to work. Will each coach only be able to bring back a contestant that they themselves eliminated or will a crossover bring back be possible? The two singers who were my favorites were both on Team Gwen: Lindsey and Ellie. As Lindsey was eliminated in the Battle Round, I'm not even sure she'd stand a change of being brought back but my fingers are crossed. Should be interesting.
