  1. Not just hold them off—somehow Daemon and Corlys were losing to a guy who hides in caves and stands around looking at the sky while everyone else fights. I’m no Master of War or Master of Ships, but this does not make sense to me. Poor Alicent looks like she could go into labor at any moment, and her dad still wants her to do his work for him. Viserys was driving me nuts moving back and forth when talking to Alicent in front of the bonfire. I didn’t see the point of that.
  2. There is an answer about this in the book talk thread for this episode. We have not gotten enough info from the show to know how old he is. The actor who plays him is 47.
  3. Today I rewatched a GOT episode with Iwan Rheon, and I totally heard it. You have a good ear. I have years of watching Matt Smith in Dr. Who stored in my memory banks so hopefully they can counteract the Ramsey Bolton voice.
  4. I didn’t get into this episode. I think too much time was spent on Jen being unable to find a job and her family making superhero jokes. I have no idea who Abomination is. I gather from comments here he was in one of the Hulk movies, but I don’t remember anything from those movies. So I would have liked more of a character introduction. I would have liked to see Jen explore the possibility of a wrongful termination lawsuit. Being a hulk is not something she chose or can change, so it seems similar to having a medical condition that doesn’t prevent you from doing your job and being fired for it.
  5. I feel like the “discuss the skin condition with a friend/family member” conversations are getting more ridiculous. The hairdresser was discussing her lipoma with her colleague while doing someone’s hair! That poor woman getting her hair done while being forced to listen to a conversation about the third boob lipoma. At least this wasn’t My Feet Are Killing Me because then the hairdresser would have taken off her shoe while operating the curling iron.
  6. I don’t want to start a fight in the boards, but as an adopted child, I feel I must express how offensive it is to refer to a parent who raises a child as “not real.” To say this implies that the relationship between Oliver and Will is lesser than that of a biological parent and child or an artificial relationship rather then a genuine one. Being a parent is not about providing DNA, it is about providing years of love and care for a child. As Will himself said, Oliver is his father in every way that matters. A better way to phrase this would have been, “I’m glad he knows Oliver is not his biological dad …”
  7. I know. I was thinking this was probably during the height of one of those years long summers while in GoT it was the end of summer. Was anyone else appalled by Rhaenyra ripping the page out of that book? It probably took at least two years to produce that manuscript volume, and she ruined it. This probably was not intended, but I thought it was a good contrast with her father, who has obviously spent a long time working on that sculpture. He creates and she destroys.
  8. I found the color palette for this show distinct. The red seemed much brighter. Overall, I think it was brighter, which makes sense because this is still that endless summer and it is a more peaceful, happy age. I realize it is weird to call this a peaceful happy age given that we saw several dismemberments, tournament deaths, and a tragic childbirth death, but it’s relative.
  9. There are a lot of improbable things I am willing to accept in a superhero show, but it really bugged me that Jen’s hair became longer and straighter when she hulked out. Why? Bruce’s didn’t seem to change. This may be a part of the comics, but some things just don’t translate from page to screen.
  10. Yes, that was one of the worst cases we have seen on the show. I am so glad Dr. Lee was able to remove the worst ones so she could sleep. I was impressed Dr. Lee was able to do that much in her office. I thought there would be too much bleeding, and she would need to refer Elizabeth to another doctor.
  11. Zoila still works for him as a nanny so I think they are on good terms. The Jenni, Gage, and Chaz relationships all ended badly. I read an interview where Jeff said he and Ryan Brown are on good terms again. Jeff said he retired to reach out to Jenni, but she was not interested. His blow up with Chaz had something to do with Gage so that one might be permanent.
  12. Maybe he was at the bar when they were having an event where they gave away stuff. I’ve gotten towels and glasses from bars before because I happened to go during some promotion. His stuff looks new though.
  13. Has Bode never seen Back to the Future or any other movie or TV show about time travel? And yet, he can remember the precise day and time of that fight from a year ago?
  14. Ugh. I was afraid this would happen. The season finale ends with multiple cliffhangers. It is completely unbelievable that the priests would not ask Grace to describe her attacker. I know it’s a show with demons, but adult human beings should still act in a plausible way. I liked the girls catching Leland with the computer game. Older people not knowing about technology is very believable. I would like to see the girls team up with Ben the Magnificent to take down Leland next season. After 3 seasons, two of Kristen’s girls are still a blur to me. I know Lynn is the oldest and Lexis is the one with the tail, but the other two… one of them has a heart problem and both of their names start with “L,” but that’s all I’ve got.
  15. So this is why my Amazon Prime membership fee keeps going up! Not cool. I wonder how they set the budgets for the renovations. I think Mira’s deck/pool renovation was less than Melissa’s bathroom. I guess all the negotiating about the budget with Jeff was just acting?
  16. Oh, he would. Glitter finds a way to cling to you despite multiple showers and brush offs. I swear my parents’ house still has glitter from my high school days 30 years ago. Oliver forgetting about the killer to sing Sound of Silence was perfect. Can we just give Martin Short the Emmy now?
  17. I don’t understand why Grace didn’t tell her Entity bodyguards about Leland coming to kill her. You would think they would put a bodyguard outside her room based on how protective they were of her at that kid’s party place. I thought it was hilarious that the priests kept bringing her GIANT inflatable pool toys. Typical of some guys to think that bigger will be better. Since Grace likes Kristen’s kids, maybe next season Grace can watch them instead of Cheryl while Kristen is out demon hunting. I can imagine the girls braiding Grace’s hair and showing her how to play video games.
  18. Haha, the pimple police came to bust our viewing party. I fixed my typo, but frankly it was raining so hard it did almost sound like a SWAT team!
  19. Will the cholesterol bumps grow back? Dr. Lee might have mentioned that but we were having heavy rain during the episode so I could not hear well. The cyst contents from the woman’s head looked like dog poop. I know it’s just skin cells, but I kept thinking how she said it smells like a dumpster and then it comes out looking like poop … I did not like Dr. Lee’s reaction to the older guy with the Nevis on his back. I know she likes to joke around with her patients, but it came off as creepy that she kept saying how cute or whatever his bumps were. He seemed okay with it.
  20. I could watch this for an hour. Kudos to the young actress for keeping a straight face. I wonder how many takes were needed for the scene? I can’t believe Kristen ran into the house and up the stairs with the guy who patently just murdered his wife. I understand she was concerned about the woman, but run AWAY from the guy soaked in blood and call 911 instead of getting yourself trapped upstairs with him!
  21. I don’t understand why Jeff wanted all those trees chopped down a few episodes ago then he convinced Anthony to spend a lot of money to buy those big olive trees. If I were Anthony, I would have been asking Jeff what was wrong with all the existing trees that were free. This episode was too much about Jeff’s personal life. I prefer more focus on design.
  22. Wow, I misses that. I guess I have to stop complaining about her outfit then. What a strange thing to change about the original character
  23. How is she a civilian? She has the starfleet badge. I don’t remember any discussion of her not bring in Starfleet on the show. However, I dam often distracted when watching so I might have missed something. I have a very demanding dog who is not a Trekkie..
  24. I hope that guy with psoriasis is able to keep getting those shots. He looked like a completely different person afterwards! I do wonder about him and other patients on the show that need medication long-term. I assume some of them do not have insurance to pay for it, and those drugs can be very expensive. If Dr. lee told me I had mites pooping between my fingers, I think I would forget all about what was on my face. I am freaked out just thinking about it.
  25. Strange New Worlds is set before Kirk became captain of the Enterprise. It is not an alternate future like the new movies with Chris Pine. This show has dramatically changed the Nurse Chapel character from the original series, but past events referred to in TOS have not been changed. I hated the original Nurse Chapel character. She seemed to have no purpose except pining for Spock so I can live with that bit of inconsistency. I just wish new Nurse Chapel would wear the same damn uniform as everyone else.
