  1. Is anyone else worried that Mon Mothma’s daughter has joined NXIVM?
  2. The lack of Harry in this episode really bothered me. I know that Morgan is focusing more on William because he is the future king but it seems unrealistic that no one would ask how Harry would feel about the interview. Harry would have been 10 or 11 in 1995 when the interview aired, so it seems like he would have seen it or heard about it from schoolmates. I think Harry was in boarding school at the time so that explains why he isn’t with Diana, but it seems weird not to see her phoning him. She loved both her sons very much. I did enjoy the interaction with William and the Queen and Queen Mother about the television. Even though it probably didn’t happen, it’s a realistic family dynamic we can relate to. William is young so he must know how to fix the TV, LOL.
  3. I took it as, “my father is driving me crazy because he wants me to fire the Black guy and he is obsessed with British royalty” slouching. Doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you have —parents can still drive you crazy.
  4. I have been to Capri where I visited the Villa Jovis AND went shopping. It’s a small island so it’s not hard to do both. I get that we’re supposed to see the contrast with Charles and Diana, but it’s not realisticaly done. Dominic West is too good looking to play Charles and also doesn’t resemble him at all beyond being a white male with brown hair. It seems ridiculous to hide the Sunday Times from the Queen and Anne. As if they wouldn’t find out about a story like that on the front page. It’s also a story the Queen needs to know about so she she isn’t surprised by it later in a public situation.
  5. There are many people from Earth, a planet of about 70% oceans, that do not know how to swim. The reason is often economic. Swimming lessons cost money and access to pools often costs money. So I can believe Kino grew up not knowing how to swim for the same reasons as in the real world. What is harder for me to believe is all those prisoners knew which way to swim toward land and there was land close enough for them to swim to. If the Empire was going to the effort to build a prison in water, you’d think they would also go to the effort to put it REALLY FAR from land. But this is the same Empire that built a Death Star that could be blown up by an X-wing and employs Stormtroopers that can’t hit anything so maybe not.
  6. I wonder if Syril will end up in the prison for stalking Debra. He is such an idiot, it’s amazing he hasn’t been killed yet for pissing off the wrong person. Debra is an interesting villain. One moment, I hate her for torturing Bix, the next moment I sympathize with her for having to deal with creepy stalker Syril. Nice to see Andy Serkis acting with his real face instead of behind special effects.
  7. I had the same thought. I briefly wondered if making the prisoners build the same thing all the time was just another way to torture them. I am very curious about what that thing they keep assembling is for. I am guessing it’s either part of a TIE fighter (because it looks like the right shape) or part of the Death Star (because it is always about the Death Star). Interesting that all of the prisoners seemed human and male. There are some reasons for same-sex prisons, but why only humans? I don’t think it’s language because Star Wars characters have a long history of being able to understand each other’s languages with no explanation. I was amused that the prisoners had to take their shoes off before flying just like we do with airplane travel in our world.
  8. I have moments of rooting for Dedra because I think there may be some sexism involved with Blevin’s treatment of her and she seems to be the only woman in those meetings. Then I remember she’s working for the Empire and would probably execute a bunch of Ewok babies if she thought it would advance her career. Still, she is more interesting than the many incompetent Imperial officers Vader has force choked.
  9. Another awesome episode. How ironic that when Cassian is actually innocent, he is sentenced to 6 years in prison. I think Mon Mothma was getting a kick out of telling her old friend that she was secretly a rebel. Considering her husband seems like a tool, I can’t blame her for getting her kicks in where she can. Was the woman who met with Vel the same woman who works for Luthen in the gallery? I think she is, but I wasn’t sure because the hair and makeup is so different. I have a bad feeling Cinta is not going to make it off Aldani because of the increased security. Fingers crossed she does not become another dead lesbian character on a television drama.
  10. I realize this was a typo, but the idea of Alicent pulling off her stockings and showing Larys big furry feet cracked me up. I bet he wouldn’t find those bear feet arousing!
  11. Maybe not. Otto thinks he is a brilliant chess player, but we have seen that he does not think long-term. For example, he convinced Viserys to name Rhaenyra heir to solve the immediate problem of Daemon being next in line, but he didn’t stop to consider the potential future problem Rhaenyra being heir would cause if the king having a son with another wife. Duh. He never attempted to cultivate Rhaenyra’s favor even though she was the king’s daughter and heir. Everyone knows the best manipulators play both sides. For Alicent’s part, I think she is too naive to consider how horrible Aegon could be as king. She probably thinks if she prays enough it will be okay. I wish we knew what some of the other nobility thought of Aegon. Do they know about his raping and child fight club or has that been covered up successfully?
  12. That article had A LOT of very specific information, including his shoe size, waist size, and biceps size. It seems too detailed to be true for an actor who doesn’t have a social media presence. Also, it said his shoe size was 16.5 US. That is huge, and seems implausible for someone under 6 feet. My husband’s shoe size is 10.
  13. As others noted, Gorn got shot when he was standing next to Mr. “My Sash Shrunk” Empire Guy so I think he intended to escape with the rest but died. I can’t figure out how Cinta is supposed to escape, but I think she has a plan base on Val saying, “Promise me you will be okay.” I can’t imagine saying that to someone on a suicide mission. This episode was amazing. Very unlike others Star Wars, but it still worked as part of that universe. The spectacle of The Eye was like the other Star Wars (excluding the Holiday Special) because the special effects always impress me. The complexity of all the characters has me hooked. I even want to know more about Luthien’s assistant. Why does she dislike the Empire? How much does she know about his work? Does she actually like antiquities or is it all just a cover?
  14. I am so over these Harfoots. They ask Meteor man to fix the dead tree, stand directly underneath a branch of the dead tree, then get mad at Meteor man when a branch breaks off the dead tree and falls on one of them. They are supposed to be close to nature but seem to have no understanding of how branches break on dead trees. DUH. I am actually hoping Tilda Swinton’s tree-burning ancestors will kill most of the Harfoots except Nori and Poppy so I don’t have to watch them anymore. I do love the Elrond and Durin relationship. I think it’s the most interesting storyline.
  15. I think we should just give up on trying to make sense of how genetics work in the Game of Thrones world. The only rule is that generics work however the TV show writers or GRRM need them to for the plot. I hated the lack of lighting in this episode. When Corlys told Qarl to get Laenor out of the water, it was daylight. Then when Qarl came back with Laenor it was dusk, and I didn’t see well the rest of the episode. Even Daemon and Rhaenyra, who are so pale they almost reflect light, were hard to see clearly. I am going to pray to the Lord of Light for better lighting the next episode. Now if only I had some king’s blood . . .
  16. I do not understand why Luthern gave Cassian the kyber crystal as a “down payment” then said he wanted it back. He used the phrase “down payment,” but a down payment is an initial partial payment. When you make a down payment, you do not get it back, because then it would. It be a payment. What am I missing?
  17. For a moment I wondered whether I was watching House of the Dragon or Call the Midwife. How did all of Alicent’s children end up with white-blonde hair? It seems unlikely.
  18. It is possible to use body hair, but it is more complicated. Harvesting is more difficult, and the harvested body hair may not match existing hair on the head. I think with the head burns, it was such a large area that the hair system was a better option.
  19. William Shatner cracked me up complaining about how bad the costume was. He’s like, “I’m 91 and a living legend so I don’t have to pretend to like this crap.” I can’t believe he’s that old. Seems like just yesterday I was watching him save the whales. Hopefully this trend will continue of having celebrities I have heard of on the show.
  20. I think it’s not so weird considering 1) what a small social circle Westeros nobility is, 2) many people live under the same roof, and 3) there are lots of servants who will probably tell secrets for a price. I suspect that for men of a certain status, it okay as long as they married and had heirs. I also suspect that for women, even royalty and nobility, it would be much less tolerated because women’s sexuality is so much more regulated. In GoT, Yara and Ellaria Sand were bisexual, but I don’t remember any lesbian characters. And those two women were certainly not part of Westeros high society. People here have commented on Alicent having romantic feelings for Rhaenyra, but that is not overt. I’m not convinced her feelings are anything more than a result of losing her best friend then feeling betrayed at being deceived by that former bestie.
  21. I was excited we finally got to meet Daemon’s wife, but that didn’t last long. Too bad. She seemed interesting, and she wasn’t wearing a terrible wig. Corlys should listen to his wife—his son is going to be in a lot of danger marrying Rhaenyra. Also, guys don’t grow out of being attracted to men any more than they do being attracted to women. Because sexual attraction is not like clothes. Both Alicant and the king were wearing green so that comment about her dress did not make much sense.
  22. Do you remember Prince Joffrey? Unfortunately, young people in the royal family of Westeros may be brats. So far, compared to Joffrey, Rhaenyra is an angel. However, she does seem to have that attitude “One day I will be the king/queen, so everyone should do what I want.” A reason why power should not be inherited.
  23. Right after we get the Viserys green glove reappearance showing us it was not an editing error.
  24. Wow, I guess they spent all their money on CGI dragons and had to recycle costumes.
  25. It makes no sense for the Crab Feeder to have greyscale. As you mentioned, it is very contagious. It also destroys people’s minds so they are like zombies. However, nothing else in the Crab Feeder plot made sense so why should this be different? I gather the Crab Feeder is mainly a plot device to set up other storylines. However, there are only 10 episodes in a season and three of them have featured this guy so he needs some character development if he is going to have screen time. The Night King didn’t need it because he wasn’t human, but this guy is.
