  1. As someone who has attended a taping (Season 1, Episode 15), I can tell you that their studio address is 528 W 57th St., New York, NY. So you could try sending something there. I have maintained a list of contact info for talk shows on my website for nigh on 20 years now, and I can tell you that over the past 4-5 years, they have pretty much ALL switched to Facebook/Twitter only. The only ones that have an email form that I know of are "Ellen" and "Tavis Smiley." I feel like trying to contact a show via its social media presence is akin to shouting into the void; most places probably monitor sort of generally what people are saying via hashtags or Facebook comments, but it's difficult to get someone to pay attention to your specific issue or concern.
  2. A heads up: according to my DVR, the episode will begin at 11:15 PM (due to a super-sized "Game of Thrones" season finale).
  3. Did anyone else wonder if Trevor was going to ask Miss USA about Donald Trump? I thought he owned that pageant, but according to Wikipedia, no longer: "The pageant was owned by Donald Trump from 1996 to 2015, and was previously broadcast on NBC. In September 2015, WME/IMG purchased the pageant from Trump." (That's William Morris Endeavor/International Management Group.) Also, I laughed way too hard at the Australian carp story. Thanks, show, for providing something so silly after the Senate gun piece.
  4. WKB is starting a new podcast with Hari Kondabolu, "Politically Re-Active." I'm kind of getting the feeling that "United Shades" isn't going to be renewed (the fact that the season finale seems to have been postponed indefinitely -- WKB said on Twitter that he has no idea when it'll be shown), but he sure has a lot of other projects going.
  5. I was really wondering what the heck was going on when I saw Jordan & Desi at the desk. I thought maybe Trevor was out sick or something.
  6. Monday 6/20: Comedian Tom Papa Tuesday 6/21: Orange is the New Black Actress Adrienne C. Moore Wednesday 6/22: Rapper M1 Thursday 6/23: Actor Mahershala Ali Also, Anika Noni Rose will be on tonight's show instead of Mark Thompson.
  7. 6/20: Jack Garratt (musician – promoting album “Phase”) 6/21: Tavis Smiley (author – promoting book “Before You Judge Me: The Triumph and Tragedy of Michael Jackson's Last Days”) 6/22: Mark Halperin & John Heilemann (hosts of Showtime's "The Circus" and managing editors of Bloomberg Politics) 6/23: Macklemore (rapper – promoting album “This Unruly Mess I’ve Made”) Ha, every time I see Macklemore from now on, all I'll be able to think of is the Lonely Island's "Equal Rights."
  8. Mine too! I wonder if it started early for some reason, because I usually get the credits for whatever was on at 10:30 PM. Re: James Carville, I'm sorry, but it's impossible for me to see him now without thinking of Bill Hader's "SNL" impression.

  10. It's not often TDS does a piece about someone I have a tangential personal connection with, but I was pretty excited to see Jordan's field piece from the Virgin Islands! John Yob, one of the people interviewed, is the son of Chuck Yob, a big wheel in Michigan Republican politics. My family was pretty involved in the local GOP (don't judge -- I eventually moved far away and became a Democrat) and I've been to many functions with the Yobs. I found this article from Mother Jones, which includes a fuller account of what went down and what Yob was hoping to accomplish; he seems to believe that he can parlay being a VI delegate into a kingmaker role at the GOP convention.
  11. I said to my husband, "I'll bet there's no line for the ladies' room at that convention!" Loved the booing when Gary Johnson came out in favor of drivers' licenses. That said, I do kind of hope Johnson gets over the 15% threshold in polling because I think it could be positive to have him in the presidential debate.
  12. I enjoy the show -- though she still needs to find a better way to integrate her celebrity guests into the show. Mary Lynn Rajskub seemed a little uncomfortable. I've enjoyed MLR on other talk shows so maybe she just wasn't game to get into this particular subject matter...? She was SO not gonna discuss her labia size on national TV, as Nikki did.
  13. Sounds like a great show, angora. Thanks for the report! I hope there'll be another Comedy Central special with some of these bits once he's toured with them for a while.
  14. From Uproxx: Stephen Colbert Is Having a Very Bad Week Yeah, it's Friday already, I've DVR'd all the week's shows and haven't gotten around to watching any of them... so maybe he's right.
  15. Robin Thede is keeping it 100: On Making the TV Writers' Rooms More Diverse I didn't realize Robin was no longer the head writer on TNS. Looks like it's currently Tom Ruprecht. My guess is that as Robin took on more roles on-air, being head writer as well was just too much. (Ruprecht is a former writer for "Late Show with David Letterman.")
  16. Mo 6/13: Mychal Denzel Smith (author, "Invisible Man, Got the Whole World Watching: A Young Black Man's Education") Tu 6/14: Malcolm Gladwell We 6/15: Timothy Simons (Veep) Th 6/16: Mark Thompson (Sirius XM Radio)
  17. We 6/15: Liam Hemsworth, Ana Gasteyer, Paul Mecurio Th 6/16: Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas Fr 6/17: Aaron Paul, Michael Ian Black, Silversun Pickups
  18. 6/13: James Carville (Democratic Strategist) 6/14: Eddie Huang (author – promoting book “Double Cup Love: On the Trail of Family, Food, and Broken Hearts in China”) 6/15: Roland Emmerich (director – promoting “Independence Day”) 6/16: Deshauna Barber (Miss USA 2016)
  19. Thursday, June 9 Patrick Wilson; Gayle King, anchor of “CBS This Morning”; Libertarian Party Candidates Gov. Gary Johnson & Gov. William Weld Friday, June 10 David Duchovny; Aaron Tveit from the CBS drama series “BrainDead”; Juggler Alexander Koblikov Monday, June 13 Bill O’Reilly; Anna Chlumsky; musical performance by Aesop Rock Tuesday, June 14 Daniel Radcliffe; George Lopez; musical performance by HINDS
  20. Nice piece by Larry eulogizing Muhammad Ali and his "unapologetic blackness."
  21. According to Wikipedia, July is the warmest month of the year in Barrow, with an average high of 47° F. No matter how lucrative the jobs are, no way I would ever want to live in a place like that! But it was an interesting episode. I wonder if it'll be picked up by CNN for a second season? Next Sunday is the season finale, and I haven't heard anything about a season 2 yet.
  22. Here's a different perspective on the episode, from Debtcollective.org:
  23. Monday, June 6 James Corden, host of CBS’s “The Late Late Show”; Scott Speedman; musical performance by Death Cab for Cutie Tuesday, June 7 Jude Law; Norman Reedus; musical performance by Hundred Waters with Skrillex featuring Chance the Rapper Wednesday, June 8 Laura Linney; John Leguizamo; musical performance by Gary Clark Jr.; Paula Robison sitting in with Jon Batiste and Stay Human Thursday, June 9 Patrick Wilson; Inventor Simone Giertz Friday, June 10 David Duchovny; Aaron Tveit from the CBS drama series “BrainDead”; Juggler Alexander Koblikov
  24. Monday night's show was a rerun, presumably since it was Memorial Day. A new ep is scheduled to air June 6.
  25. It wouldn't surprise me if Chris picked his wedding date to coincide with a show break. The Comedy Central late-night lineup almost always takes a couple weeks off around that time of year, so I assume they're mapped out far ahead of time.
