  1. A Reuter's story (picked up by a number of outlets, including EWN and gulf news), describes Benedict as a "perfectionist" when it comes to his work. I'm sure we'd never have guessed.
  2. IIRC, Jeopardy is syndicated, so it appears on different networks in different areas--it's on ABC in the New York area, for instance. So I don't know if it would show up on any network website.
  3. Here's a very thoughtful Benedict interview by Cineplex about The Imitation Game:
  4. Another week, another (2) awards...this time it's the TV Choice Awards, where Benedict picked up best actor and Sherlock won best drama series. The Mirror: TV Choice Awards: Sherlock and Benedict Cumberbatch wins were elementary The Independent: Benedict Cumberbatch wins best actor at TV Choice Awards as Sherlock wins best drama RadioTimes: Benedict Cumberbatch sends his parents to collect TV Choice Award
  5. He was very, very tipsy getting that GQ award!: *** Also there's stuff 'n' things from the Toronto International Film Festival out there. I'm working off a very small laptop today, so I'm not bringing a list of reviews, but here's a video interview about Turing's sexuality from The Wrap:
  6. Not sure where to put this--but WNET (the New York City PBS station) is rerunning ASIP tonight at 9:00pm. I wonder whether it will be with the original cuts or not...
  7. I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, but nowhere else seems right either, so... From What's On Stage: The National Theatre is raffling the chance to win afternoon tea at The Ivy with actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Scott, for the benefit of their Young Patrons group.
  8. From the Daily Mail: Hobbit's snap-happy fans defy theatre ban: Culprits made to delete pictures of Martin Freeman as Richard III after breaking rules
  9. From the Mirror: Sherlock Selfie - world record smashed as 443 people dress like the world's greatest detective. According to the article, Moffat and Vertue sent a message of support, along with a signed Sherlock script for best-dressed. All money raised went to the Leeds Teaching Hospital for a new Yorkshire Brain Research Centre. *** From the Guardian: Sherlock, Downton Abbey: what the US can learn from our TV exports. (I thought it raised some points worthy of consideration.)
  10. A sampling of reviews of The Imitation Game from Telluride--the reviews of the film are a bit mixed, but they seem to be more or less unanimous in praising Benedict's performance: Variety The Wrap HitFix The Hollywood Reporter GoldDerby
  11. I adored Patrick Stewart's take. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ju5VxyM3S4o
  12. Driad, have you seen Season 3 yet? *** This apparently was up since July, but I was only made aware of it today: On BAFTA's website, there's a video in which "Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy, Colin Farrell, Jim Broadbent & Hugh Dancy offer their advice for aspiring actors." *** On Broadway.com, there's an odd-end: Odds & Ends: Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Hamlet... *** And for those who NEED their daily Benedict, there is a Benedict Cumberbatch 2015 calendar. (Articles referring to which on refinery29 and the Daily Mail.)
  13. And BBC One did an Emmy-award trailer for the show:
  14. Jason Castro did it too, with his wife and daughter. (Video on Facebook.)

  18. Aaaand here's a small sampling of media stories on Sherlock's Emmy wins: Variety The Hollywood Reporter EOnline Digital Spy Forbes The Telegraph Liberty Voice
  19. Yes, quite right, Anothermi, I meant of the winners! I shall edit forthwith.
  20. Correct. Only Moffat was there last night. And here's his win and acceptance speech: ETA: Oops! As Anothermi pointed out below, I MEANT to say Moffat was the only one of the winners there last night, as Gatiss (and Vertue) are right there in the video, and undoubtedly would have been on stage had the show itself not lost to The Normal Heart.
  21. Just posted that in the media thread--I'm so delighted!
  22. Moffat won Best Writing in a Movie/Miniseries, Martin won Best Supporting Actor in a Movie/Miniseries, and Benedict won Best Actor in a Movie/Miniseries. YES!
