  1. As I said, I'm new to this series, it's funny and I like the lead, even though I've never seen a single episode of "Ugly Betty" before. Anyway, I decided to make the leap and watch America's previous work and while I was watching, I began to see some crucial direction changes that's making this show weird. in "Ugly Betty" everybody progressed forwards, whereas in "Superstore" nobody progresses forward, everybody goes backwards, (even Amy has gone backwards). I think somebody upthread mentioned that nobody (or practically nobody) succeeded after they left this Cloud 9 branch; perhaps it's more of a hive-mind mentality that seems to slow everybody down from gaining anything in that dismal workplace. If, you're so fucking lazy and twisted as to "rent" some suit and work him into the ground doing your job, then there's no hope for these people. The guy was complaining about his spine, and Garrett, who is in a wheelchair, was fine with that whole scenario? That's not the Garrett I thought I knew. (But then again, the birds......) Just thinking about this motley crew and I don't see much hope for mankind if this is what we're producing. I don't think Marcus is even human. The man stomps his shit down the shower drain, for fucks sake! The man is either a product of excessing inbreeding, or "He ain't right in the head"; it's probably both. Judging by the major EWWW fact of him and Justine banging, as distant cousins. If Climate Change doesn't kill us, stupidity will, if these people were even real and not just the screwed up squawking of some weird writers.
  2. I really don't see Garrett pining for Dina. Why would he want to go back to her? Garrett is an intelligent, if maybe too attached to sneakers, otherwise normal guy. Why waste your time with Dina? She's rude, crude, and WAY too bossy. She thinks she's an ideal catch, and doesn't really have many normal human emotions. I'm surprised they got together in the first place, and I really don't see why Garrett would want to revisit that relationship. If Garrett had any game, he would go after the cutie-pie Sarah (played by Selisha Shertick), who in the earlier seasons, they found a way to have her included in the background of nearly every single scene, but now, not so much. I think Dina, who obviously thinks all men are after her, is imagining Garrett still trying to get back with her. With all things Dina, it's all in her head.
  3. @Irlandesa Thank you for the clarification. I wasn't sure what the final determination was for psychiatric breakdowns as a disability. To be frank, I wasn't sure if the ADA issue was in reference to Carol's mental state or Sandra's. I don't think it's ever been brought up, but clearly Sandra is "Iffy" mentally. So, it could have gone either way.
  4. Having been retired for a decade, I'm unsure of the complexities of the Americans with Disability Act, so, I'm not sure who is the ADA protecting in this situation? Since Carol probably had to undergo some Anger Management therapy, or sessions with a therapist, and Sandra is well, Sandra. Where does the ADA come in?
  5. One of the best episodes of the season. Everything was funny, even Ter-ry, the character, not the name although Rosa is quickly becoming my favorite on the show.
  6. Real World "Superstore" Obviously, although it's supposed to be a take on work & life at a Big Box store, it's supposed to represent real life (although comically), otherwise Mateo would be working at the Cloud 9 in the Philippines by now and Carol would have been arrested and shunned for life, "Mental problems" or not. Not calling her crazy, doesn't mean she's sane. They SHOULD treat her as dangerous, because she IS.
  7. This is one of the things that has degraded this show, in my eyes. Amy is NOT that dumb, yet they have been portraying her as such for awhile or at the very least a vestige of Jonah and not her own woman. I can understand if she's hesitant being new to the job, but she's been manager for awhile, everyone accepts her as manager (with the possible exception of the grown-assed child, Glen); yet she continually doesn't assert herself enough. There's gotta be a happy middle-ground between the wet noodle she has become, and the hard-assed Robo-Cop routine of Dina. Amy used to be a welcome change from the idiocy of the standard work crew. She, Jonah, & perhaps Garrett were the only sane ones. Now Garretts in the warehouse with Mateo????? Mateo, who recently escaped being deported is back at scamming people, with Garrett??? Cheyenne, who lost her "cool" card recently, is now out organizing and marshaling Jonah and teaching him proper socializing technique??? Cheyenne??????
  8. To be honest, I was expecting Sandra to raise all sorts of Hell, especially during that ridiculous apology scene. I would have been hard pressed keeping my anger from spouting choice words.
  9. Damn, I binged all of the previous seasons for this blown wad. This could have been comic gold with each Cloud 9 employee gunning for Carol. Damn well, know she deserved every minute of her just torture, but to have her come back and run the same game, is cruel to the characters and cruel to the viewers. Carol sucks and her constant, unpunished degradation of Sandra isn't funny any longer. The writers are embarrassing themselves to attain laughter. Also, I'm beginning to see Jonah, as the "Plastic Wannabe" that others may have thought he was. I used to think he had valid ideals, but was too hung up in his Glory Days to be a true person
  10. Okay, I can understand that his seeming lack of attention to each family member may have downgraded his dad credit rating. However, I have to think this clusterfuck of a return from the dead sitch is a distraction, that even the best father may have a slight difficulty in reconciling. If you're like Ben, obsessed with solving puzzles as a math genius, this is a scientist's' ultimate challenge.
  11. No father is perfect, but what issues did you have with Ben as a father? I know he constantly berates himself with his less than stellar self-image of not having a good father/daughter relationship, but to me, that's kind of a tricky situation. Ben did have to compete with Danny as a surrogate father/husband figure. So, I'm curious, Ben, has his focus flaws but I've never thought his role as a father needed salvaging, what am I overlooking?
  12. Don't forget the miracle that is Saanvi. She has a lot more important role to play than a decreasing screen presence. She could easily be the show's Deux ex Machina and save Zeke from his Sell By date. Oh, let it no longer be said: There was a Lourdes mention. Must mean SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!!
  13. Was presented with a similar option, though not the exact same sitch. Father in hospital, two brain surgeries, he told me was tired and wanted to die. DNR was placed, but when you get THAT call, there's no easy choice. You make the call. Ain't easy!
  14. I'd prefer them as amorphous shadows than unruly thugs selling meth. As far as the new direction, this show has managed to do the impossible by making Jared & Grace sympathetic characters. Although, i would like to know how many more police officers are X-ers? As far as Jared goes, I must eat crow. Tastes, nasty. Chewy. Did someone order dinner?
  15. With all that's going on here with the virus, i haven't seen this episode and am watching it now. Have to say, Please STOP with the Jared reclamation project and the Adrian horror show. If Jared was undercover, he sure was enjoying himself and had me fooled.
  16. Someone should play back Glen's conversation with Amy back to him. Maybe if he heard himself say to Amy, "You're doing the best you can, and it'll be good for Parker to have to overcome some disadvantages. Like Oscar the Grouch grew up in a garbage can, but he's still on "Sesame Street" just like all those other puppets who are friendly and clean". He may realize that he's expressing some ugly financial and ethnic prejudices. Yet, amazingly, he was angered when Amy described Rose as being raised by an "Old school Marm"? Really? You rose up in anger for that????
  17. I've actually only became interested in this show while channel hopping a couple of weeks ago and i thought the characters were well written. So, i binged the entire series up until this episode. While i still love the show, some of the characters are starting to irritate the fuck out of me. My big four pain in the ass are Glen, Jerusha, Mateo, & Cheyenne. The first two are just bonkers and the last two are sad excuses for human beings. I don't know what the Hell is going to happen if America leaves. Then she says she would like to see a crossover between her Amy and Betty characters??? How does that work when you're ready to leave?
  18. Don't worry about it. There are a lot of Plot "B"'s with this show and it's hard for all of us to make sense or keep track of it. It's just fun to critique the show with fellow viewers, especially when you get crossover viewers who like similar shows,
  19. Of course not, who does join a domestic terrorist group just because of a bad break up? It's just not something anybody would do! Where does that leave you? Have you figured out Jared's endgame? I haven't a clue, but all signs seem to lead to his doing exactly that. This IS "Manifest" "Where it's all connected". Sorry, couldn't resist. 🖖
  20. LOL, are you tacitly admitting to being part of a cult, Shapeshifter? Just messing with you. I think, further rumination seemed to make it clear to me that the Captain & IA are only interested in how Michaela has been solving these cases, not about the deaths from the fire and who caused it. They don't seem to give a shit about that. They just want to know if Michaela, an 828'er, is either causing these occurrences or somehow being tipped off before hand by what........? They are just interested in painting the picture of Michaela being compromised or somehow under the influence of something either demonic (By Simon's twisted reasoning) or she's a victim of Mass Hysteria (Leaving out the minor issue of their involvement with the anti-828 movement). Either way, Michaela, Ben, Saanvi, TJ, Zeke & Vance are going to have to declare war on their collective asses. They need to take them down, one-by-one, starting with Simon's wife. Go for the wounded animal first. She's pregnant and wanted Grace's baby dead, a nice health scare will work wonders on her. I know it sounds cruel, but these people are not above eliminating anyone they think is in their way. Here's a crazy thought, probably Tequila inspired, but what if the Major wanted to try and cultivate the 828'ers and kidnap Cal because they were in a war against Simon and his crew. What if we got the Major's intentions all wrong. Those 828's held in labs and experimented on, weren't simply 828'ers being tortured for information, but were being prepared as soldiers in a war against Simon's Cabal. The Major was military, military tends to think in what can be used as a weapon. Therefore, I posit, that the Major was trying to create weapons or soldiers out of the 828'ers. On the other hand, Simon seems more interested in some occult phenomenon and how to prevent some apocalypse. Simon's interests seem theological. Those two seem at odds to me. A final disclaimer, by suggesting a health scare toward's Simon's wife, I was by no means suggesting any serious physical harm, just a scare with an acknowledgment that if she and her husband keep that shit up, next time may be scarier.
  21. Wild animals need to be put down, otherwise they can cause harm to your family under the guise of "I can protect you from the people I'm colluding with". That's what Michaela should do. Expose him and that Captain of the Precinct as X-ers and start to lay the blame for the fire on those two. Put them on the defensive. Sure Michaela was at the scene of the fire, but that's because she was lured there by Isaiah as were the others. What exactly are the police and IA accusing Michaela of? Michaela didn't lock the doors, nor did she supply the poisoned champagne (as most of you pointed out); which any M.E. should be able to find evidence of. It seems to me that any real attorney or Union Rep, should be easily able to poke holes in their case. They have none, all they have is a mini-Cabal, running the police department. This is a silent takeover of our law enforcement system, by this criminal element who seem to be doing nothing about these crazy incidents except to blame innocent 828-ers. In other words, sorry, but fuck Jared and that White Horse of a Police Captain he rode in on. You did say the question was rhetorical. So, the answer is a no-brainer. What do the Captain, Jared, & the Union rep have to say about the Judge signing off on the wire tap/Bugging of the bar? Are they prepared to say Michaela had no reasonable cause for the wire tap when it was shown that Jared acquired Michaela's police cases under false pretense and passed on that information (probably yet to be presented as evidence) to a civilian university professor?
  22. I just saw the headline but haven't read the article yet. Is YouTube TV getting out of Original Series also and plan to just stream syndicated tv and movies? I wonder how come subscribers weren't notified and have to read it in an article? Thanks, by the way, for the info. For the amount of money YouTube TV costs they should be adding content not removing it. p.s. I read the article and it sucks that YouTube TV is changing one of the reasons I subscribed. I like the service because I can record any show I want and keep it in the cloud for months thus sparing my constantly full DVR; some small respite.
  23. I think that was his intention; to save Michaela but HE'S the one who put her life in danger by feeding her case files to Simon. Simon saw Michaela as a threat and wanted to eliminate her. What did Jared think he (Simon) was going to do; talk Michaela into joining his band of haters? Jared had the nerve to tell Michaela she was being naive and that she didn't know how much danger she was in. Pray tell, Jared, how do you know all this? I still want to know how Simon recruits these people. They seem sane until they open their mouths. I like Zeke with Michaela, he's a calming influence and is sort of Gentlemanly with her; not pushing her around like Jared does. She seems to like having him around. Jared is just too Alpha Dog aggressive. I also liked the way Zeke handled the shaky Saanvi. As an ex-druggie, he saw the signs and immediately thought about Saanvi's safety and brought in Alex. He was calm and managed to talk Saanvi down and he did it to save her not just because she offered a cure to his death date.
  24. Damn!!! I love that show. I guess the SFX and Niche streaming site killed it.
  25. Oh Damn!!!! Are we approaching "Under the Dome" territory now??? First "Lost" and now "Zoo"? At least "Zoo" had an interesting and believable premise.
