  1. Somehow, I seem to remember them naming their baby after her “dead” brother. Or at least listing his name among those under consideration. However, I don’t remember if Rupert is actually dead or if he somehow faked his death because of poverty.
  2. Full season two (Six episodes) are airing free on Peacock here. It's probably a Comcast thing. I think what makes "Departure" so good is the outstanding performance by the lead actress. Emmy & Oscar winner Archie Panjabi. Her take no prisoners and never back down attitude is a nice "Fvck You" to the haters & criminals.
  3. I actually liked this episode. Back-handed compliment: Cheyenne was actually pretty smart this episode. They seem to have slightly altered her character. Had to laugh out loud at her, "It's pee-pee water, will I get Hep?" Everyone else was annoying as always. Jeff and Mateo are pathetic. Marcus should be fired on the spot and he can take Justine with him. People are popping up and dropping off screen so frequently, it's hard to keep up. Don't know why Jonah has devolved into a clueless poser who lets his fellow workers put words in his mouth. Mateo asking Jonah if he wanted to sleep with all the mothers really deserved a stern comeback, not a whimper of acquiescence.
  4. Damn straight. Let them stay estranged. I've never been a fan of either: Cheyenne has no redeeming qualities and her status as a "Hottie?" (not by me, stupidity is such a turn-off) is negated by her dull, drug addled mind and being married to Bo doesn't help. Mateo, can continue to be made an A$$ of since he's nothing but a self-centered jerk. I'm feeling like this show has lost it's way. I thought the Covid episode was a good start but then they ruined it by going too far with the emphasis on African Americans' struggle in the next episode I recently went into quite a few drug stores looking for African-American hair care products and found that certain products are no longer carried, so I appreciated the recognition but then the faux commiseration and ensuing sitcom scenes made the whole thing depressing. Then came the Kelly redux. I like Kelly and think she has chemistry with Jonah, more so than Amy. However, the whole thing smacked of desperation by everyone and then this whole Nia thing, was a quick change of direction (thankfully, it wasn't Jonah's idea). Finally, this whole Garrett/Dinah thing is totally ridiculous. Garrett should have told Dinah to take that "Boy Toy" crap and shove it. Dinah so much as told Garrett he is now her scratching post. Don't even get me started on Sandra and Tony's Mommy issues.
  5. @peacheslatour. Sorry, it's been awhile. I believe the dog, Doc & Louisa shelter, used to belong to Martin's Aunt Joan (Stephanie Cole). If it's the same dog, his name is Buddy. Imaginative, I know. He's a sweet dog.
  6. Sucky News: “Siren cancelled”. https://deadline.com/2020/08/siren-canceled-freeform-after-3-seasons-1203005299/amp/ As usual, I’m late to the table.
  7. LOL, if they should feel sorry for an actor/character, it should be Sam/James Denton. I don't know what his damage is, but the guy brings all the gravity of a Black Hole to a relationship. He sucks at it! Never having bothered with that "Housewives" drama, I have no historical basis for this opinion, but Sam <= George in the "Interesting" category. Is it the writing or the Channel?
  8. Dreaded words to hear from Martha, “ Hell-Looooww!🎵” And “Oh, my."! Patrons always scamper away.
  9. @CowgirlA splendid description of Martha, down to the fine detail. 👏 Don't forget that voice, can it be considered an accessory; like a bell around a cat's neck alerting you to her coming presence?
  10. You got the last part right. I'm sitting here with a cocktail listening to the latest inane Guidelines. Glad to see you're still safe Cowgirl!!! OH, BTW, I think the label Gypsy is a pejorative and has always been offensive.
  11. Damn, I miss the banter amongst the posters here, more than I miss the show. I’ll have to eventually dip my toes back in.
  12. Haven't watched this show since Dolls left and Wynonna got pregnant with the scruffy one's child. Shit went haywire from there. I may give it another look. A lot of good Syfy has been cancelled and I'm grateful for at least one familiar show that can be distracting from this Coronamess.
  13. You're right. Thats sucks. I had my hopes up for a quick turnaround:' From Futon Critic: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/siren/ ADDITIONAL NOTES: completed airing its third season on 5/28/20; has yet to be renewed for a fourth season DESCRIPTION: (from Freeform's press release, January 2020) Freeform's mermaid drama "Siren" returns for a third season with a two-episode premiere on THURSDAY, APRIL 2 (9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT). Ben's shocking decision to let the reporter die at the end of season two has ripple effects in his relationship with Maddie and Ryn. Meanwhile, a dangerous, sophisticated new mermaid arrives in Bristol Cove, challenging Ryn's leadership and igniting an epic undersea battle between rival tribes. All of this is complicated by the fact that Ryn's baby, now being carried by a surrogate, must be protected at all costs. PRINCIPAL CAST INFORMATION: · Alex Roe as Ben · Aylya Marzoff as Katrina · Eline Powell as Ryn · Fola Evans-Akingbola as Maddie · Ian Verdun as Xander · Rena Owen as Helen · Sedale Threatt, Jr. as Levi · Sibongile "Sibo" Mlambo
  14. Just to confirm, this finale was a MID-season finale correct? The series may come back whenever they resume shooting around the end-of-Winter for part: 3-B?
  15. That final scene, with Ryn posed on the rock looking out, would make a nice poster to replace that iconic one, of Ryn just floating in the water. As an advertisement for the show, it's a nice moment in time.
  16. Big props to the special effects team AND the Director. They put together a very good episode, despite the plot holes. The plot holes, to me, didn't detract from the great, although slightly murky, underwater battle. I'd love to see the "Making of". The scene with Hope sitting on the boat and Ryn dived onboard in full mermaid form, finding out from Hope that Ben wasn't around, and then diving back in to find her Ben, was a fantastic scene. I applauded the decision to get all the regulars from Bristol Cove working together. Even Calvin got a chance to do something besides suck. Yes, R.I.P. Dale, you had some good scenes when you were around. Yura's army came in fast and hot, out of nowhere. I am left to wonder whether Ryn's sudden ferocity, Berserker-style, was fueled by her bond with Maddie snd her screams when she found Dale dead or perhaps when she sensed Hope was with Ben. I exploded in disbelief when Ryn did a simple spin and with her spear, stabbed Tia. It was too easy, but I cheered, after rewinding 5-6 times, and saw the tribes bow to Ryn. Maddie and Xander, would be just too weird, but it does seem like that's where it's headed. Maddie and Robb, is just Ben and Ryn, so nope. Keep the Ben-Ryn relationship as the only current Human-Full Mermaid couple on the show. Never thought I would say this but Xander and Calvin, ya done good. I can't call them Dumb and Dumber any more. Now we wait....
  17. Who is Jerry? Is he the guy that works with Maddie, in their lab, and is a bit sweet on her? I'm surprised "Petty Ted" hasn't gotten a megaphone and announced to Bristol Cove, "There are REAL mermaids among us!!". Ted needs a phone call from Tia. He will not be missed.
  18. I have a question I would like to pose to Siren Forum Posters: At the end of "Til Death Do Us Part", with Ryn placing a wedding band on Ben's Ring finger, and their joint declaration of "Til Death Do Us Part" did anyone else view that scene as an unofficial marriage? I have a bet going with my brother. 😷(There's a smile under there)
  19. Sorry if already posted. Den of Geek's take on the episode: Siren Season 3 Episode 8 Review: Til Death Do Us Part Another review: REVIEW: Siren – 3.08: “Til Death Do Us Part”. Contains a slight spoiler by skipping ahead to the next episode's synopsis.
  20. While I'm one of the first to point out this "White savior syndrome" in scripted shows, I don't think it's entirely warranted in this case. While Ryn may be a Warrior and head of her tribe, she is thoroughly outclassed by Tia. Ryn lacks certain skills that someone with a different mindset can readily see. For instance, Ryn saw Tia's challenge and was ready to just throw down, both Ben and Maddie, even Helen, and Xander imparted some crucial knowledge that helped Ryn in her fight. Help with battle plans is just expected. Ryn is not a seasoned campaign fighter. Plus Tia is a cheater. She didn't beat her opponents fairly, her lance was rigged to elongate at the press of a button. That as not a mermaid-made lance, that lance was created by humans specifically to kill other mermaids.
  21. I think Tia was planning to use her song as a weapon, she was just surprised that the Russians had done so first and despite her bedroom stooge's poor attempts at preventing it, had succeeded. Unfortunately, they just created a weapon to hand over to an insane Memaid.
  22. Damn, you know you're up shit's creek if Xander is the only one with any sense. The Dumb and Dumber crew are now only half dumb. Sorry Janine, you lost the door prize. I'm actually fine with Ben and Ryn alone. Maddie decided to get all weird and trip out over what Ben did with the reporters, which is still a puzzle. What did she expect anyone to do to a man who kidnapped a woman you love, was going to reveal her presence to the world and oh yeah, tried to run you over on the road? Of course you let him die. Ian so much as committed suicide by kidnapping an unconscious Ryn. Sorry, Bro, ya fucked up. Ben did test my belief in his sanity when he dug up that half-transformed mermaid to run his experiments on and he didn't see how hypocritical he was for complaining about the military doing the same thing. Now Maddie getting weirded out was just a plot device to split the thruple and give us this small aquatic transformation in Ben and the Thruple, now a rather obviously in love, couple, as they literally got married this episode. What does the gaining of gills matter when you can spend time with your Mermaid wife down under. I'm loving this new direction the show has taken. They're embracing this Climate Change crisis and incorporating it as part of the show, as it should be. The MerPeople aren't the only ones suffering under climate change. Good for Freeform, for still pushing the envelope
  23. Gotta whole lot of catching up to do. Don't remember how many botched weddings I've missed so far. Must set my calendar <dragging feet>. Think Martha's shrill yell, "Move it, Buddy!" And with that, glad to see some regular posters here. Warms my heart.
  24. I can see why some would believe that, but to me, the difference is very slight. Just your acceptance of the action. If someone was trying to harm/kill a loved one and by some fluke got entangled in such a situation, I would be torn either way, but if left to die by me or someone else, I cannot blame anyone for not saving them.
  25. She should make a special tribute to air on all Cloud 9 TV's simultaneously, much like the Amy/Jonah Tornado Kiss.
