aw too bad her videos (and likely none of the other players') are not captioned. Not even a youtube auto caption option (which is beyond horrible anyway). Oh well... 3-4 minutes I won't have to waste..

I didn't even hear/see the title phrase (Must have been somebody at the Tejo detour). Sad to see Darius and Cameron go but it was just an unending series of bad decisions and bad little mistakes through the last three legs. Amazing considering many of the other teams have made just as boneheaded mistakes as well. That one vendor looked like she wanted to smack Dana for standing on her merchandise! I wish she had.... Hated the besos for pesos...ugh...I was so hoping Blair and Scott were out- alas another week... Not as much squeaking/screaming this leg but some are still doing ear splitting levels. At least I didn't see mauling of locals this time. So now am down to rooting for Zach and Rachel (need to learn about foreign currency- glad Zach knew and caught it) and Korey and Tyler. Title shoulda been "chest bump! ....that actually kinda hurt..."

Regarding the hair dryer in other countries discussion... I can remember a trip to Italy back in the 1980s (Group trip...high school). In Venice I think it was we stayed in a nice older hotel. Unfortunately the problem was all the HS girls brought hair dryers.... and that night there were at least 3 times that the hair dryers tripped the fuse box and shut off all the lights lol.

How is Cartagena pronouced? I missed the first 5 ish minutes thanks to my tv being a butt and had to reset the cable doohickey thing. I hope the brothers kick it into gear soon- I like them- they're the most mellowest of the bunch! Way too much high pitched squeaking by females this leg and mauling of the poor locals again. As for racers talking/telling stories while doing tasks- I don't think this crowd is any less guilty than past racers. I've seen racers go on and on with the camera (and even not looking at the camera - looking at you Justin and blabbering to Kelsey and Joey instead of paying attention to the task...). That mud pit thing looked rather cool lol. Nice to see Tyler and Korey in first- I like them also... I think some teams are underestimating them a little bit. Whoops... yep big mistake with not getting a cab. Why didn't they get a cab after they were done at the detour though since they had already discovered they made the mistake of thinking it was "just up the road" for the detour?

Cool I may have to check his out then. Thanks! thank you for explaining- now I see where you are coming from. Sadly most people say "it's tooo hard to do". Well... yes and no. On YouTube at least I know you can download the auto caption transcript, edit that then re upload it. Some do try to have the transcript posted in the text section below the video, and others are able to caption them easily if it's a prepared talk or something. The 'spontaneous' ones are the ones that are not easily captioned on the fly. To be fair I try to hold deaf folks to that too- while I may understand their signing, a closed captioned script would help the hearing! :)

Streaming video doesn't have to be Closed Captioned...as an advantage? Not sure I understand what you mean but the biggest disappointment so far for me with internet video and streaming IS no captioning as I AM Deaf. That leads into.... I have no idea who most of these people are. I think I am familiar with Zach King and maybe Rooster Teeth (usually from posted videos on FaceBook). I almost never do YouTube because 99% of them are not captioned-- properly. YouTube's auto captioning attempt doesn't cut it... at all it's that bad. So I stick to videos of D/deaf vloggers, events etc and music videos that I know the lyrics to or HAVE the lyrics in the video. On to the race.... Since I don't know many (or all?) of these racers (and not because of my age but more because of inaccessible videos) I'm watching this as if it was just a bunch of people. So far I like the Non-Harvard brothers, Tyler/Korey (though he has been accused of transmisygony (sp)-- not sure how true that is aside from using an offensive term), maybe Dana/Matt (dancers)- they were the ones who said they were big fans of TAR. Not too sure on the rest. Cole is going to be interesting to watch and see how he reacts to the stress of the race. Loved the mariachi detour though I probably would have been there for hours... I wonder if you were allowed to touch the instruments (vibrations)- looked like some did do that. The fireworks one was also pretty cool and it was fun to see how excited they were to watch the bull go up in flames. An "oh lordie" moment with Scott wandering outside then realizing he dropped a lot of his pieces- he lost a lot of time there. I'm in for the long haul.... Nobody really obnoxious yet- nothing like in years past. I even gave Justin a bit of a pass last season (barely) till the race was further along.

Really? That's odd- I was able to watch S9 on Amazon. I just looked it's there- at least in the USA and is free under Amazon Prime.
-
If I remember yes he was the only one to nearly set everything on fire and the only one to try the torch (along with everything else). The other two teams didn't take too long to figure out what to use and how.

For the celebrity idea we already have one team- Jonathan and Harley (NKOTB). Here's one interesting view of a 'dream cast' http://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/Amazing-Race-Celebrity-Dream-Cast-37005463 This one is old from 2007 (one team wouldn't work anymore since Corey H. died in 2010...) http://www.buddytv.com/articles/the-amazing-race/the-amazing-race-fantasy-celeb-13333.aspx Found the above while trolling google to see if there were any celebs who said they liked TAR... did see that Bill Murray mentioned he liked it.

This was the season I first started watching TAR so took me a while to learn everything especially what was added and not added etc. Will never forget the Yield with Colin hanging over the box and staring dagger eyed at Chip the entire time lol.
-
Thanks SnideAsides. Was definitely interesting to watch. I just finished season 4 lol (ironically enough where all the teams who did the heavy and fast detour- pushing a taxi to the garage had quite a few people helping to push the car- happily it seems lol).
-
Yeah I am really liking the brothers- awesome brothers who pick at each other but still manage to work well together lol. Teri and Ian yikes is all I can say. But Teri gives it right back to Ian in many cases. As for the wicker boats- no haven't gotten there yet- maybe tonight since there is nothing on TV now that TAR is finished boohoo. ---- adding on since I don't want to double post. Just finished Season 3 and... wow. Glad I don't have to hear Flo's voice (one of the few times I wish I was totally deaf- justin being the other) anymore. I am however a bit surprised that Flo and Zach didn't get slapped with a penalty for having those two guys help them with the basket boats. I had thought you were not allowed to have other people 'do' the entire detour FOR them (ie paddling the basket boat) but knew they could ask for assistance like the basket bikes. ugh. Even though I knew the ending I still wanted Gerard and Ken to win lol.

which task did she almost successfully sabotage? (so I can watch for it lol)

I just saw that episode in the last two days or so and it boggled my mind how they could miss that but I can see how the little "diesel" label was missed in some instances. I can't think offhand of any other big blunders like that that affected multiple teams but I am betting there's been a few more.

In reading the other thread that the 2nd half of an interview was up, seems like Justin is 'encouraging' any of his fans to stalk TPTB to get on a AllStars/Unfinished Business 2 as he will do it too. I haven't read it yet but I can't tell whether he's joking or is actually serious (probably #2). I did see the fake TAR video (while roaming the webs to see the general reactions about Justin)- and while the idea is nice- the whole thing was so cheesy and contrived. That and the actual proposal was odd- he bungled through that (dropping the ring and grabbing the wrong hand) and for me at least Diana didn't look all that thrilled or excited. Maybe she was and it just didn't translate well to the video..? As for my wanderings... a huge majority dislike him- some quite intensely and a minority love him- some quite intensely.
-
He will be 95 years old and still begging to get back on TAR and thinking he's 'all that' and will win the race. And likely still be obnoxious. Saw in one of the posts here or some tweet of his that "Well I made it into to the history books anyway!" in response to being called one of the most obnoxious players in the history of TAR (or something like that). No Justin- that is one record you do NOT want to admit to! One record you DON'T want. And.. there isn't an official 'entry' for that anyway- just how the fans feel. I hope they don't get asked either.
-
OMG.. and they're getting married? I hope it's not going to be every single day for the next 50 years. I'd be running screaming after 6 months...nay...3 months max... It was- that episode is next on my Amazon Queue to watch (I'm on season 3) and may I say the episode I watched today- first thing I said at the end... Flo is the female Justin...or is that Justin is the male Flo? About the only difference is that Flo whined and cried about doing the tasks and Justin cried about "I could have done this task better, should have done it instead of Diana (Even while Diana did well on the task anyway).
-
Well considering most of the congratulatory posts were in the main episode thread I guess people just didn't see the need to "double post" it in the team thread. But here we go- Congratulations to Kelsey and Joey. You guys ran a great race, worked well together, almost no anger or upset or tears (that we saw- minus the cab deal at the NY roadblock). Just plain awesome all around. (I'll be hiding under the dock in case there are rotten tomatoes/produce thrown my way) (aw- no colors for fonts :) )
-
what did Justin do to Phil? I also was not very impressed with him reeling off their previous prizes... I'm pretty sure they must have prepared that and were ready to spout that on the Mat "when" they won.
-
Ugh.. I wish all the extra clips like the one above were captioned :( I can understand bits and pieces but my speech discrimination stinks. And not the Auto captioning Youtube has (which it didn't on this video anyway). I miss out on all the extra stuff! Bummer.
-
oh if only.... but if the cabbie is a fan they wouldn't be watching season 27 as it was still filming (since it's not 'live') when they had Justin and Diana as cabbie fare- season 26 would have been airing about that time (maybe- I don't know the schedule...) Yes Kelsey (the female reporter) did say they hadn't paid. Logan(the female) and Chris(the male) were already in the cab and Kelsey came running up just as Joey had finished his roadblock and was at the driver side saying that they hadn't paid yet- so theoretically the cab was still theirs even though the cabbie could have just gone off with the new fare but guessing most cab drivers would rather stay and be sure they get their money. (well besides the rouge cabbie that drove off with James and Abba's stuff that one time...)
-
true but I've seen that in just about every Season I've seen of TAR up to this point (I'm still plodding through Season 3 right now), so Joey isn't alone. Annoying yes but I can understand why they get so amped up and jump up and down, yell Amiiiiiigooooo or It's beautiful/perfect or pleasepleasepleasepleaaaaaaase! lol
-
I doubt it happens that way. I have seen that there's been instances of F3 where the final destination was one of the teams' home town- Amani and Marcus in Atlanta (season 19)... and they came in 3rd
-
LMAO! I bet they did but we didn't see it... they were the ones TAR showed as 'polite clapping' lol
-
Oh my... show you do this to me every time! But YAY! Yay! so glad Joey and Kelsey won! Justin was still in his rare unlikeable form. May be a good racer but doesn't mean he's likeable or tolerable. I missed the very beginning (1st clue and airport/plane. I definitely saw that Justin stiffed the cabbie "no tip?" It sounded like the cabbie didn't even want to stay around. THEN Justin trying to convince the 2 other cabbies (who I am guessing?? were J&K and L&C's cabbies). One even said "I'm going home!". Yep Logan that was Joey & Kelsey's cab. Pretty sure Chris was smart enough to not steal somebody's cab. But neither of you smart enough to note down the order of countries visited! Done in by a mistake JUSTIN did...and a crooked chair back.... what an end! I saw a lot of 'polite' clapping when Justin & Diana ran up lol.
