  1. To the individual who PMed me... I certainly hope you sent the same type of PM to every other poster who like Team Texas. Certainly didn't appreciate the tone of your PM either. I don't owe you or anyone else any explanations as to my likes and dislikes.
  2. Ugh.... Justin cannot get off my screen fast enough please. I could swear I saw his head grow two sizes again this week. Just plain insufferable... Everybody else was fine for me this week. Actually sad to see ChacAttack go but the goof ups they made travel wise did them in. The Rotterdam=Amsterdam made me shake my head but I will give credit that they managed to catch that early enough. At this point.... Texas and the Reporters are the only ones I really want to root for. Alabama I am on the fence with but they did fight hard to keep their ass in the race. The Paps were more mellow, if that's even possible, this week...less arguing- that became Justin and Diana's department. Cheerleaders are doing better too- still squealing, squeaky. Just... Justin please go away. I shudder to think what he'd act like if he was in the bottom of the pack- he was already looking grouchy when 3 teams passed him. Maddening and annoying that they still managed to win... yeech. Loved the ship detour- I'd probably have failed the mission 10 times and still had fun. that said...18 tries at the rap detour for Alabama.. yow....they were dang lucky it was a TBC leg.
  3. Gotta say though- that biplane ride I would have done in a heartbeat- and the bungee jump. :)
  4. I think it was something about Justin wanting to take a taxi to Paris but Diana knew better ? Kind of got lost and forgot what but nice to see Mr Super Fan's partner getting annoyed as well and showing it. Nice leg- more challenging detours but yikes poor Alabama. Wasn't their first choice Bust a Crab? Think they would have done better with that one. Texas much better this leg- I still like 'em. Cheerleaders still high pitched screaming but glad to see them doing well and moving up (Yes..Justin this is how you enjoy a race when you get to the pitstop). I was almost hoping that Diana/Justin would wander around forever at the pitstop lol. Logan/Chris making too many little mistakes and yet...still in it. The rest we barely got to see because there was so much screen time on Justin...I mean Justin/Diana. Really surprised at another TBC leg...we haven't even seen an NEL yet- wasn't there at least one NEL by now? 15 attempts...gah. Or more. No way I could have done the rap thanks to my deafness and since it's in French can't even sign it. By the way... no I didn't know what the French motto was nevermind even pronouncing it correctly (best I could do is phonetically which is I bet how everyone did it... not all of us took French or are Francophiles)
  5. If I remember the gifted express pass has to be used up by leg 8.
  6. Best closed caption of the show... For the detour "co-op or cocaine" I could not figure that out (as I couldn't hear the pronunciation) until I saw the sign and said Ohhh lol. No comment on the race- I'm still not a fan of Texas and even less of a fan of Justin.
  7. Ooops sorry about that cooksdelight :) Didn't realize that...
  8. What was the deal in the airport? was Justin running around giving away the address to the Basilica? He's pretty much sucking up to everybody within earshot it seems. That was my first thought too- take off the hats for respect inside the Church!! yeesh... Tango was fun to watch (then again I can't hear the music all that great lol). Most of them were great at it- of course the partners could have just shut up for a bit while the ones doing the dancing could concentrate a bit better... Had to laugh re Double A- "I'm going in!" on the cardboard detour. Sad to see them go though :( Would have preferred some of the others in the top half of the group to go. As for the brothers and their 'sob story'- it's the same ole-- producer driven/nudged to keep 'interest' on them. I don't care about their story (though awful it is)- I just like them for them and how they race. I thought it was interesting that the last 3 teams were having so much trouble getting a cab- so many were driving right by them.
  9. Another Sporcler! Yep, though I remember the monument- I still learn a lot of things from TAR that helps on Sporcle lol :) No real favorites yet but I hope that the cheerleaders either go away or turn down their squealing/squeeking ouch... that sound hurts when you are plugged directly into the PC (missed it last night so had to watch online today) with 'earphones'. Holding thoughts on Justin/Diana- Its only the first leg and I can understand feeling so upset - fear of exiting first and making a mistake that cost them first... but hopefully they'll wise up and enjoy the race. Really like Ernest and Jin as well as Alex and Adam, As for the slider puzzle... I'd be there all day. Just love how people say it's easy :P... problem is many people think differently so it's harder to work it out in your mind (mine at least) I do eventually get it but it takes me a long while to work it out. I hate when I see that on a riddle level lol.
  10. they have... The season that Dave/Connor won... some dingdong posted the entire list of elimination up to and including who the winners were on the Amazing Race FB page in the middle of the season. I accidentally saw most of it and unfortunately much as I tried somewhere in my brain it lodge. I unfollowed that page shortly after for that reason... people who spoil like that.
  11. This is true. I remember a friend of mine, her luggage was weighed before checking it when returning from the UK to the US... it wound up as...overweight (I can't remember the phrasing but that was it basically) and had to pay additional for the extra weight. She wasn't thrilled.
  12. I think there were.. but I couldn't say if they were actual detours or not. I remember the Oklahoma boys having to dance a male/female dance and one of them was extremely upset about performing the female part (and dressing as the female).
  13. "he's doing it the Jelani way" lol.. but he was smart in leaning back to distribute his weight more. Hayley was actually... awesome tonight (*looks outside* hm.. not snowing or pigs flying...all is right for today anyway). She and Blair actually communicated very well - unlike Mike and Rochelle when they were at the brick detour. Tyler is a Iron Man good grief (sorry saw Avengers today lol)-- they really got through that brick detour on pure will and sweat. Mike and Rochelle... yeah they actually bickered a little, they pretty much checked out and Rochelle was pretty much a downer. Pretty much. Loved the dance and the roadblock-- very cool. I was not happy they pulled this twist again...is this going to be the new thing? "We usually have F3 but now we're gonna let you continue to race and eliminate somebody halfway through the final leg". Yeah okay.
  14. I have the perfect partner for Hayley- Luke. Or really any deaf guy (who does not have a CI or hearing aid but even then they can turn them off or take 'em out- I would).
  15. Well.. was actually hoping that Matt and Ashley could catch up. Bye bye... enjoy your engagement and wedding planning! Sigh.. once again Mike and Rochelle 'luck their way through'- oh well guess there has to be 4 teams. I want to like them I really really do but I don't. They're about as bland as day old bread. As for Tyler and Laura 'misdirecting' Matt and Ashley- I don't think they did or realized it as they were taken to the wrong detour themselves- they wanted to do the Mamas one. Hard to tell. And EWWW on the spitting on the potatoes... I don't think you had to clean/water them- I didn't see either Matt & Ashley or Jelani & Jennifer do that at all. At least Hayley kinda toned down near the end and she was all happy that Blair knew Spanish but I am sure she still won't let go of every mistake/issue he has vs the positive with Blair. and still a constant motor mouth. She'd pair up with Luke very nicely.. she can yammer all day and Luke wouldn't hear it, Luke can sign in ASL when he gets mad and she wouldn't have a clue what HE'S saying (and get pissed off in the process). J&J ran a good race too and both really appreciated Peru it looked like (gorgeous shots when they were driving along). So I'm forecasting J&J, T&L and H&B for final three. Unless TPTB decide to do another twist. J&J first, H&B then T&L is my pick.
  16. there was a brief shot of Hayley making Blair open and look inside her tent to make sure it was free and clear from.. whatever.. bees? Bugs? Good golly Miss Molly. This is the same woman who is a peds trauma ER nurse? I also noticed the haphazard way she was wearing that helmet then when she commented on "I'm still wearing the helmet" at the mat, I talked back to the tv (In ASL... screaming would alert the other two humans in the house) "Well take it OFF then!"
  17. Oh lord... Hayley be quiet!! I can still hear you in my head.. ugh ugh ugh. Yammering that you are ALWAYS right won't get you very far in life. Blair and Hayley do seem to do pretty well race wise but Hayley continuing to hang onto "see I told you so/I'm always right" like a dog with a bone is getting old real quick. What would she say if SHE was wrong? (oh wait... it will still be his fault) Really liked this leg- nice brain puzzle for once. Probably would have taken me a bit to figure out the 5 i's thing too lol so I don't blame J&J. They seem much more mellow this leg thankfully. Mike and Rochelle... they're like little... cockroaches. Nope still don't feel anything for this team. Tyler and Laura ran a pretty good race- they weren't too bothersome/annoying but not memorable either. Poor Matt... though I'm not that into this team I do feel bad for Matt having so much difficulty. He ALMOST had it when rochelle was still there... it seemed like he was just so frantic. Still rooting for Jelani/Jenny. Blair if he can somehow tip her into the waterways... I'm starting to wonder if she talks in her sleep too...
  18. I agree-- When teams 4 and 5 came and they were told no you can't do the Pack.. I fully expected that #6 would be told the same thing. Why weren't they allowed at least to be able to wait to do the Pack? TAR makes 'em wait on other detours/RBs sometimes. That has been done before- only X number of slots no matter how late you get there so the other detour become what they do. I was a bit annoyed- it seemed a bit misleading- at least to the viewer.
  19. TAR animals! Yes the camels seemed the most docile of the bunch... those zebras were.. feisty. I hope Mike and Tyler are ok.. those zebras got some kicks in. Hayley still insufferable and yap yap yap yap yap... though not sure what Blair's deal was with the Track detour and doing it himself- maybe he thought it better to do it that way than have her be more insufferable in telling him he's doing it all wrong. But she did seem sweet with the kids. Kind of on the fence with Jenny-- definitely an Type A competitive but at times she does seem fine. I'm still in their corner though. I saw nothing wrong with how Jenny tried to flag down somebody. Some people do it that way- doesn't mean they're 'entitled prince/princess'. Matt and Ashley-- well... while they are great racers they were getting a taaaad obsessed with Jelani and Jenny (and not quite understanding that what Jenny did was part of the .. you know... RACE- strategy. It may very well have been 'strategy' anyway to u-turn them but thinking the main reason for doing so was kind of petty imho. I'm not even sure why Tyler and Laura u-turned Steve and Aly they were so far behind. At least J&J were able to use up the Express Pass as they knew it would happen. Still not feeling Mike and Rochelle I'm sorry to say. They keep living for another day- and I don't know how. Their navigation sucks, a few times seems like they are going slow. They do some of the tasks pretty well but always seem to be in the back of the pack. Ahh so sorry to see Steve and Aly go but yeah...Something happened there as we saw the not so nice Aly this time... KF? who knows. That flat really did them in though unfortunately. It looked like they had fun with the toy airplane making though- that was cool. Tyler and Laura... uh... um... not much to say there... all them datin' couples (blind or not) are starting to blend... Loved the switch-up on the skydiving... Hayley was so excited...until they found out exactly what they were doing. Blair had it right-- she ain't gonna be happy! and I am sure poor Blair had to listen to that for about three hours.
  20. I thought they changed out of their 'semi formal wear" for the zip line/tightrope walking detour? Jenny still knocked out that task though and both were quite happy and pleased when they finished.
  21. unfortunately I can't afford it at this time...between the fees and hassling to get an interpreter.. lol. Maybe sometime down the line.
  22. For you maybe. Not for everyone. My first attempt failed miserably. And I will gladly eat my words if a friend of mine who has promised to teach me how to drive succeeds in doing so. (I have had at least 2 people say they'd teach me #1 dropped out of my life for 10 years #2 is on the other side of the country... well for now who knows where my next job is...)
  23. I think she was- of the three couples that did that detour- Aly and Steve I think split theirs pretty equally (22 total so 11 each?). I'm not sure how many Ashley carried- looked like less than 10 but she got it in the first go. Hayley carried 8 the first time through- might have tried for 9 or 10 the next two times.
  24. Reindeer!!! Ugh. That was painful to watch Kurt and Bergen :(. But you deserved it considering one of you just gave up and the other wasn't very supportive and gave up too. I got the impression neither one of them could drive a stick shift which is why they decided on the taxi (somewhat smart but when a clue says to drive yourself to xyz.. you have to wonder... so in the end not such a smart move. Sorry still not feeling Mike and Rochelle.. I don't know why... just... not that into them and I don't think they're long for the race either. LOL @ the water dumping- even I as a deaf individual (some hearing though) knew some were way off kilter *screech*. Hayley omg... stop yammering! I almost think Blair could have gotten the stack if she hadn't started talking.. Blair as you said at the end.. please run away from her. Jeff and Jackie... yikes. They claim they are having a great relationship but from my view sure as hell didn't look like it at all. Jen and Jelani seem a bit better so still rooting for them. Tyler and Laura .. well the couple with the MIA fanny pack... good grief.. the minute the person said "I took it off to get comfy" (or whatever it was he said)" I said "never ever ever ever EVER take off the Amazing fanny pack!!!" Never! They were lucky. But had to laugh at his comment about Hayley-- even the other racers notice she is a motor mouth with absolutely nothing of value coming out. Steve and Aly- awesome race- they blew through it and Aly aced that Stein detour- totally awesome. If there were other racers... they kind of blended with the scenery.
  25. No for me it not because they are 'beloved' (though I adore them). If it had been any other racer I still would have said that it sucked they wound up so far behind. I've never liked that that happens. It's the same when a team gets so far ahead... there's no joy or suspense in watching a team so far out that it's a given 5 minutes into the leg that they will win or watching a team that winds up so far behind (getting eliminated in the airport...) that it's a given they're gonna be out of the race. I like a little suspense and mad dashes in my races. J&H probably could have gone to another counter but it looks like none of the teams went to a travel agent (that I saw)- maybe a restriction on the part of TAR. J&H did take responsibility from what I read further up in the thread that they were not exactly travel savvy (with Jonathan having others handle the travel arrangements as part of his band, I don't know if Harley has ever been out of the country). J&H are not the first to get screwed by airport decisions (or the last). I don't like it when ANYBODY gets screwed whether it's by their own hand or by some outer outside influence. to the point where it effectively doesn't allow them the chance to even make up any time at all. I disagree also that 'they were not very good racers'. I think they did the best they could and they handled it very well- they did not snipe at each other, get grouchy or yell. Attitude is as important as 'skill in racing' IMHO.
