No they didn't. It's just a comment from someone who just found this part of the TAR forum is all.

I didn't come to TAR until around Season 5 I think it was so had no clue on the prior seasons other than what I read on forums and online... so for me I can pick out/remember more recent racers. I just started S3 (with the infamous Flo and Zach...) but one thing I also noticed is that 1) any time penalties were always done off screen and applied to the start of the race, not at the end of the leg and shuffling them to the side to wait and 2) almost every eliminated team didn't break down into giant puddles- tears yes, sadness yes but all were grateful and graceful in their exits (to me at least) unlike the more recent (*coughlastweekcough*) display. Some colorful characters, some boring and some "yikes I don't want them on my screen!"

It isn't anger- it's annoyance and frustration at how he is representing America and to a lesser extent himself. He's portraying the Ugly American vibe (notably in this episode) strongly as well as what someone else mentioned- a sense of entitlement- "I deserve to be in the record books of TAR and I'm going to mention it every chance I get- production prompting or not". That's my view, I can't speak for others here. I'm just plain annoyed and cranky.

Yes Roadblock skipping is a 4 hour penalty. That happened to the Globies in their first season with Franz. So if the cheerleaders had taken that it wouldn't have mattered, it still would have put them further behind I think.

I'm confused on what you mean... and oh lord I'm trying to remember (I just did a binge watch of the last 8ish episodes of season 1 ouch)... but I could have sworn somebody else(not Diana) said that to Justin when HE was saying something like 'nice job way to go'? Downside with captions on TAR is that you can't always tell who is talking- at least on the live show, the ones on Amazon they did put who was speaking (though in some spots they used the wrong names oops). I may have to fast forward to see that part again.

From what I could tell and heard the others say-- there was a lot of white bubbles and light.. light reflects on the water, I couldn't tell if there were other stuff underwater like plants though. I don't know what Krista's vision is like (if she wears contacts) but if your vision really sucks (like mine) it might have taken longer. It looked like too that Krista wasn't always looking DOWN... it was painful to see that she was right there and the fishies were either next to her or right behind her. Sad to see them go- they tried their best and didn't fall apart (much) when they had troubles or came in last.
-
I am sure that Kelsey and Joey DO have personalities.. but seeing as they're being overshadowed by Logan and Chris (awful) and Justin and DIana (uh... no words but definitely takes up the entire screen I mean room) it didn't come through very well. Quite frankly I prefer quiet hard working racers than either of the other two couple whether or not they worked their butts off or relied a lot on luck.
-
if they had known that J&D were BEHIND them then I have a feeling they would have tried to give Krista a pointer on where to look- They all thought that J&D were ahead of them.

Ah okay thank you!

DamnitDamnitDamnit! So close... they might have made it if the first cab dropped them off at the RIGHT place... down to taxi luck...Again. And the way Justin acted this entire leg right up to that smug look on his face just cemented my dislike for him. Even Luke in his last appearance behaved better than that when he did get eliminated. And... a major mistake on their parts... didn't think that would happen. I caught that the 30 minutes was for taking the wrong ferry but why the additional 25 minutes? (not that I'm complaining...ha). Boy what a time for TAR to drop the 'final 4'.... Go Kelsey and Joey... after five 2nd places they sure as hell deserve the final win.
-
It wouldn't matter what color Justin was wearing. Green is my favorite color. He could be wearing polka dot plaid bright neon orange for all I care and I still would feel like he's an annoying, insufferable racer.

To whoever mentioned that The Amazing Race seasons were on Amazon Prime- thank you (I think...lol). I have Amazon Prime but had forgotten about TAR being a choice. So now I have my lunch time viewing set! Just watched season 1 first episode today.... and promptly heard/saw (captions) two of the many famous TAR catchphrases... "That's Namibia...Jackass" and "Swing you fat bastard!" LOL

I don't know if I can help in any way (I'm always on the computer and my google-fu is pretty good...) and since I am bored most days (there's a reason for that...) why not- willing to give it a shot.

I missed that line of hers for some reason.. but I think there is a BIG difference between a crowd of mostly men it seems like(particularly the ones who were trying to get up close and personal and destroying her balloon net) where she ISN'T performing and a crowd at a football game where she IS performing. I'd definitely feel uncomfortable in her shoes in a sense- in a large crowd...in any country.

Ahh but Logan and Chris are still annoying and the cheerleaders are still squeaky and whiny-ish but they all come by it honestly. It feels to me like Justin is going out of his way on purpose to do everything he's been doing.. mugging to the camera, cackling, bragging(no shame in it but a wee bit much) and comes off as a little fake. But that's just lil ole me and my lil ole opinion :)

Well other than the boring predicable win... again... that certainly was a grueling leg but very little shuffling other than the U-Turn and even that didn't do a whole lot of damage. While in a sense they were right that Logan and Chris ARE a strong team I can't help but think that there was a little bit of personal in their (his?) decision to U-Turn them. I am sure Justin is enjoying the race but to me he still comes off as obnoxious and "putting on a show" for the most part (except the carnival ride). In my own opinion, a super fan does not have to brag and wear a t-shirt claiming they're going to tie and/or break the record. Put your heads down and just do it don't stop to congratulate yourselves. Really glad that the cheerleaders were not penalized for what happened to their balloon net- that was terrible... Sorry to see Alabama go- they really chugged along and settled into a good relationship- I hope that continues. At this point I'm rooting for Kelsey and Joey. They're strong, work well together but just need that tiny little edge (or a mistake on J&D's part) to get past them. And I hope they do. I was not impressed with the third u-turn. Odd placement as usually (or I thought) teams do one detour THEN see the UTurn station and find out if they've been U-Turned or not.

She did! Exactly that "Remove my name from your mouth"- LOL.. saw it on the captions and about died. Some of the stuff they say are just hilarious and ridiculous at the same time.

Finally got around to seeing the episode as I was out of state visiting with some old college friends- so missed Friday. Not like I hurried considering someone upthread said- it's The Justin Show now and am just not as invested in the show with so much Justin in there. More like dragged along. It's infuriating just how they manage to get to 1st place even when they drop to 4th or 3rd place.... augh. And still with the "wink wink smirk" at the camera... No Justin I don't want to be inside your head thank you. Just something about him that is consistently unappealing. Sad to see the Texas Boys go...Yes they've had their faults but what team doesn't? I include Justin and Diana in that too but they were gracious and humorous this leg "Ah we're in first..". They exited well. I hated that they were U-Turn but I can see the logic and agree with it why they were. Doesn't mean have to like it lol. The rest- well Logan and Chris didn't fail to amuse with their continuing bickering, the cheerleaders with their whine/tears and James Earl & Denise with their "oh dear oh dear" vibe (but they didn't seem to lash out either- and DID ask quite a few people where Moonlight Garden was)- Denise seemed to really knock out that RoadBlock. Speed Bump I don't remember ever seeing one last THAT long- that's insane. Have seen some that required detail- like that assembly of some sort of toy. The carpet hanging I don't think took that long (the Dentists)- it seemed more difficult because Misty was short. What was noticeable on THIS one- was that only ONE team member performed the speedbump while in the past BOTH team members performed the task making it easier to complete faster. Not sure I'm liking how it was set up this time. I don't care about dominating teams-- heck the Hockey Boys did on their season (and I liked them) but I do care about how they come across- yes J&D aren't 'mean' (yet), etc etc.. but just how he presents himself is off putting.. TO ME. To others he's the bee's knees- that's fine too. Good grief I hope to see them drop a few places.. Rooting for anyone but J&D or L&C(maybe). That doesn't leave much....

Mr. Hagoo is Mr Magoo's twin brother.
-
Most of the teams now want them out of the way without any prodding from anyone else.
-
I thought so too after "I've been preparing for this for 13 years!!". Too much boasting for my taste. A true fan would just enjoy the experience, race his/her ass off and keep the self congratulating to a minimum. But that's just my take...

Why don't they just rename the show this season to the "Justin and Diana Show" or oh.. sorry The JUSTIN show? Ugh.. A LOT of screen time on these people... damn. A NEL was sighted! They were darn lucky... Bad they had such bad luck in trying to get their hands on a taxi though. But They never complained or sniped at each other once the entire time. Sure they were worried/down that they were in last place but they didn't blame each other once (that we know of). The detours and roadblocks were interesting but a little disappointed they had the ease of asking to look online for the food items. I'll be waiting to see if anyone notes that only ONE team managed to get the earliest flight out... and never moved from their position... Still rooting for anyone but The Green Team (oh how they sully my favorite color.. bad enough Brenchel wore green- sequined green!!). That said... the Schindler Factory was very moving and touching. More so with what happened in Paris today :(
-
Oh yes Justin sees the cameras-- he talks to them enough! Or 2 or...5....

Agree with RCarter. I've always said we're only seeing a tiny bit of the thousands of hours of filmed adventures (that's my guess anyway). As for this: I am willing to let that go- I get baffled by third grade math a LOT and have to do it three or four times and that's under NON stressful conditions unlike a race where they probably haven't had a good decent night of sleep in a while (out of their comfort zone- any of the racers) and running all over the place. I'm worse under stressful conditions when it comes to basic addition and subtraction... yet I have a nice lil Bachelor's degree and have had great jobs (in IT no less and working with testing-- oh... finance and billing programs for one lol). I was always great with English & writing and horribly slow/awful with math while a few of my college friends were awful with English and writing (I ended up helping quite often in term papers...) but were super whizzes with math, numbers and accounting.

I liked that too... I hope they went back to the same place where they got the painting as I noticed the cheerleader knocked one of the easels down accidentally (hopefully she put it back up) so am curious if they either went back to the same spot or just went to whatever easel they saw empty as there were several teams doing the task at the same time. I was a little surprised that they were able to get earlier trains as I figured that because the 7:20 (approximate time) train apparently was reserved by the TPTB of TAR so figured that meant that everyone was to be on THAT particular train. Guess it wasn't a required/hard and fast time for the teams. I suspect that's how Texas read the clue and decided to take time in Paris.
