  1. Dog sitter is the most honest person I’ve seen on JJ in a long time. JJ gave her an opening, asking if the dog was sick at any time before sitter texted owner. Quick as a flash, sitter said nothing happened until the second day. A dishonest person would have claimed that the dog had seemed off earlier, less than 24 hours in the sitter’s care. She sunk her own case, and if JJ hadn’t disliked absentee owner so much, it might have cost her. As it is, I hope she gets some of her business back now that the attitude of the part-time dog owner is on film.
  2. The Mississippi case was confusing and I could see both sides of the issue, until the friend tried to take the money from the credit union. That put me on the side of Christian’s parents: he had time to go to the credit union but never thought of getting help from EMS or Christian’s family?
  3. I didn’t think it was a scam, however ill-prepared the plaintiff was. She was suing over post-accident events, and had the proof of payment and car damage. How many times has JJ claimed that she only wants to see the evidence she asked for, while admonishing people for “playing with their papers” in an annoyed tone? The defendant had nothing to do with the accident, so the accident papers would have answered JJ’s curiosity, not the case before her.
  4. Was the 12/25 show new? I hadn’t seen it before. Was the plaintiff getting disability because her great aunt with dementia called plaintiff names, triggering PTSD? Was there more to that? If not, then isn’t everyone entitled to disability? I’ve been called nasty names by dementia patients, too.
  5. Best line of the episode: The hotel has a nice gym, that I walk past on my way to the breakfast buffet. Glancing at hotel gyms should count as exercise.
  6. Poor Mr Progner - her mind was made up as soon as she read the age of the vehicle, and she didn’t even bother to get his name right. But it just emphasizes the point of getting everything in writing, and that checks are still useful.
  7. Don’t like the plaintiff that wants a reduction in rent because he lost his OVERTIME pay (regular salary seems unaffected). That was never guaranteed, so he’s coming across as a scammer.
  8. Plaintiff Barnes: men like him (and the prospective mother-in-law) are why I’m contentedly single. He defies even my most sarcastic descriptions.
  9. He seemingly has nothing else to do with his time. No need to work (and he still got his federal funding while a guest of the county for 10 months!?!?!?!); even his lawyers (allegedly) wish him elsewhere. Suing tellers individually for bad service?!?!? But I wish the defendant had won on the counterclaim, if only to see the plaintiff finally lose a case.
  10. No uncle and no Thanksgiving episode?!?!?!
  11. But I think the plaintiff was hoping retrieve the possessions left inside - that was as important to her as the $340, which would be covered by the appearance fee. Would she have won if, instead of saying hair accessories, she called them hair extensions? Maybe JJ would have considered those worth her time.
  12. What I loved about this show is how real it was compared to every thing else on tv. Sure, the characters didn’t evolve but look at most of the people in reality don’t change and grow much past a certain age. This was a show that didn’t have the weekly happy ending, and that felt so real to me. People had more challenges than successes, but life still went on. And they found some happiness in less than ideal situations.
  13. Perhaps one of the palace mice delivered it? But episode after episode, I find myself agreeing with Fagan in that the buildings need work.
  14. I’ve wondered the same thing, especially after reading about her crying on pre-teen William’s shoulder about her love life and loss of HRH title. Would really hope to be wrong, but we’ll never know.
  15. The tragedy of the Powell boys is devastating, but where is the money supposed to come from? Will the award to one family result in cuts that will create the next tragedy? Such departments are all woefully understaffed and underfunded across the country. But is it that the lawyers prefer 1/3 of the jury award to 1/3 of $64 million? The self-congratulatory cackling of the one attorney takes something away from the heartbreak the Cox family is suffering. Unless I’m wrong, and the lawyers are working pro bono - then I rescind all of the above.
  16. Re the white pants: Now I’m wondering about the ratio of males to females on the writing staff.
  17. Anyone else craving steak for dinner? There was a definite theme today.
  18. And Billy Sparks graduated!!!!
  19. My sympathy is with the plaintiff. Maybe because I’ve been where she is. But it sucks when a parent, of which most people only have 2 at most, chooses a girlfriend (one of a dozen) over a child. When kids have to compete with partners of the month for a parent’s respect/attention/time, it sucks.
  20. I started to wonder if maybe the doctor was covering for his daughter, because of the coffee cup. He went running, mom and daughter have a fight, he comes home, makes the coffee, goes upstairs, and finds horror upstairs. This is pure conjecture on my part, since no evidence of this was ever presented. I’m most likely adding 1 and 1 and coming up with 13, but that thought occurred to me. Why leave so much incriminating evidence and hope a cup of coffee will clear you?
  21. Anyone else think the plastic surgeon’s bill might have been a wee bit inflated for court? But what does it say about a doctor who puts the family on an insurance plan that doesn’t cover his services? How do the everyday patients pay?
  22. I can’t shake the feeling that if the dog had been any other breed than a pitbull, the decision would have gone the other way. The defendant’s Craigslist contact? Would not be surprised if he was as real as the Nigerian prince who emailed me last week.
  23. True, he is everything the posters describe, but I did appreciate his schooling of JJ on how the school year isn’t 52 or 48 weeks a year.
  24. Some friend who repeated the story at all, let alone on a wedding day.
  25. I guess I can’t delay my bills any more. Too bad there isn’t a webcam in the cells....
