  1. But actors and athletes are recognized for something else. The idea that people will pay to watch the life of someone is hard to fathom. There are lots of curious, enthusiastic and maturing people: what sets on apart from any other? One can live vicariously through thousands of people; what attracts one over any other? As I said earlier, I’m not the target demographic. But neither can I understand the appeal. Bloggers/influencers are the next generation of multi-level marketers. A few live well, but most struggle to keep up.
  2. Watched the rerun of the Gabby Petito episode last night. The video of the stop in Moab is heartbreaking. So many if only-isms apply that one hour. But another thing I found disturbing? The ambition to make a living by getting others to pay to observe your life. If you do that, can you ever have a real life? Are you living for yourself or your audience? And if you’re living for yourself, why would people pay for the privilege of observation? I never did get the appeal of the Kardashians, so I’m not part of any target audience. The Truman show had a happy ending only when he left the set and the cameras behind. 20 years ago, that movie wasn’t a cautionary tale.
  3. I thought videotaping the swimming lesson was defensive groundwork. I feel so sorry for the mother, Kelly.
  4. But who would be this case’s Pam Hupp? They were murdered, Brandon was the last known to person to see them alive, was in close proximity to a now-stolen possible murder weapon, and drove away in the truck his mother was using as part time of an on-going move, and a missing knife with his father’s blood was found in a location he’s was seen in after the murder. If not Brandon, who? I think there’s more reasonable doubt about Pam Hupp/Betsy Faria than there is in this case. And I don’t think Pam’s case(s) will be taken up by an Innocence Project anytime soon. About the blonde hair in the mom’s hand: wasn’t she blonde, at least in some of the photos? Couldn’t it have been her hair?
  5. Mary didn’t ask George to do anything she wasn’t willing to do: she didn’t shove the classifieds in his face - she brought them so they could search TOGETHER. And he perked up a little at the idea. Mary’s a bookkeeper: she knows how close they are to living on the edge. Many things would be nice, but things can get even worse. If George had waited until he was fired, shouldn’t he have been eligible for unemployment? (For that matter, isn’t Mary? She really didn’t leave voluntarily.). But since he quit, even that tiny cushion is not an option.
  6. But George was the one who started with the house-that-isn’t-paid-for reminder, so what was Mary to do? Banks really don’t care how you feel or where the mortgage payments come from. Mourning a job is hard enough; adding foreclosure makes a bad situation so much worse. Mary lost her job, but kept busy with cooking and cleaning; her brush with soap operas came after her usual routine was done. George didn’t even bother to tie his robe to watch The Price is Right. Mary’s nagging paralleled Missy’s popping of the pimple.
  7. I didn’t get the point of the bar scene. Was the point to show that George has no support network, making it okay for him to find comfort elsewhere? It felt shoehorned-in.
  8. There was a case on a court show, maybe a month or two ago, where a woman was billed by her city for calling 911 after she heard girls screaming from next door. As it turned out, the neighbors were hosting pre-teen girls for a slumber party. The screaming didn’t indicate anything bad, but she was fined. Do other cities penalize for false alarms?
  9. “Matt folded faster than the night crew at The Gap.” Josh had such a way with words. Horrible case - I don’t mean to make light of the crime.
  10. Has the engineering professor influenced his peers?
  11. Bet she regrets not busting Georgie at the restaurant…..
  12. I wish there were more episodes this season!☹️
  13. Totally agree, but I wish I had a boss like Judith!
  14. Pam Hupp revisited, this time with the former prosecutor: the previews look good. Update 60 minutes in: I’m not a fan of the prosecutor at all, but this is so uncomfortable to watch. Almost feeling sorry for the prosecutor. Almost.
  15. From Hetty’s stalking Jay during the Alexa plug-in to her new obsession with removing the U2 poster, she stole every scene.
  16. Included in Dateline but skipped in the series is the mention of the librarian/notary who witnessed/notarized Betsy signing the change of beneficiary form. Forging Betsy’s signature is about the only thing where Pam is innocent in the entire series.
  17. It is the law or laws meant to prevent a murderer profiting from the crime. If Pam had been treated as a suspect from the start, the insurance company could have delayed or redirected payment. Ever see Knives Out? It was part of the plot.
  18. But if Pam ever gets convicted, can the slayer rule be applied retroactively?
  19. The Pam Hupps of the world are the reason why returns can be so complicated?!?!? How much of this is hyperbole? Did she really donate Sara’s baby shoes, or distribute compromised lozenges, or keep her husband from eating?
  20. It just occurred to me: Jay said that selling Elias’s watch could net enough money to erase their debt. Since Ari paid twice the asking price, will this mean more renovations at Woodstone Manor?
  21. Watching tonight’s episode in real-time: other than Isaiah, I don’t know who is more unlikable. Valerie has so many problems, but John is even worse. He needs backup to stand up for his daughter?!?!
  22. I thought his obituary was the source of his dating profile photo. Or have I remembered wrong? Why didn’t Pinkus ever ask about the missing Trevor?
  23. If Dateline hadn’t done the case, would Russ still be in jail? His lawyer is great, but did all the attention prove more effective than skilled counsel? The whole situation proves the necessity of the Innocence Project. Can you imagine Pam as a teacher? Was that true?
  24. The insightful assistant for the win! Isn’t Askey’s question about the election FB page during working hours a violation of campaign laws? But given everything else depicted in the series, that barely registers. Betsy’s poor family: it keeps getting worse for them. Grief clouds judgment. If it happened to someone they knew instead of them, could they have seen through Pam?
  25. Which ABC executive are the show runners blackmailing, and what do they have?
