I'm watching the show where Fornell pulled a gun on a doctor just doing his job?? Irredeemable. Moreso because I got the feeling the writers wanted us to be rooting for Fornell as he did this. Really spoiled the character for me.

Every generation needs to learn the lesson for themselves, it seems. And now, with so many people there who will be sending astronauts to space for the first time ever, it wouldn't surprise me at all for the cycle to repeat.

Anyone except for Yogesh can win, thanks. Although, I do want to watch him play against James. Looking forward to seeing the rest back. I really like Amy so am happy she is back, but also sad that there are many other deserving candidates who don't get a chance.

I was also very confident based on the category - and I mean, there were only 6 shuttles, so I thought odds were good I could figure it out. I didn't know that fact about Endeavour and Discovery - but somehow knew those were the two shuttles in question. I hadn't the foggiest idea, however, who the explorer might be, and so went with my default "No-idea-which-explorer" answer, which happens to be Cook (I did a project on him in grade 3, and don't remember much about him at all).

I enjoyed this episode, I thought it was one of the better ones the show has had. It is weird though how Nikki seems to take a backseat in the show this season, and I could do without the drama of her boss, but the A plot was good.

I translated it just fine, but didn't get beyond that. I mean, I did actually briefly think of mercury but then somehow convinced myself that the element was in fact just plain silver. Tonight I was able to translate the "middle" part but didn't separate out the compound word well enough to get to night>midnight.

I instantly knew "scarface" was the nickname being referenced but could not, for the life of me, dredge the name Al Capone from my brain. I could have written a paragraph on the man, but could not get the name out. In high school we did a trip to Chicago that included a gangster/crime tour, and I got a hair comb that was styled as a pocket knife. Will leave it up to our FJ contest judge @Clanstarling if "scarface" is sufficient, though I don't think they would have accepted the nickname on the show.

3/5 after a long streak of zeroes! I got thymus, Gagarin and Rosetta Stone this week.

Got FJ today! First thought of the plane crash with Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP Richardson, and couldn't think of anything analogous in the Soviet world. Then focused on "trailblazers", thought of Gagarin and remembered that he died in a plane crash so went with that. Happy for Andrew winning, though Pam certainly made him work for it.

An emergency C section planned in advance? I hope that's just an error in the official description, and not part of the actual plot.

Well, my elation at finally getting FJ was quickly tempered by Yogesh winning. Agree that he shouldn't have been invited back. I would have been happy with either Ben or Troy winning. I bet Troy is kicking himself over his wager, although he had to do it.

Didn't quite get there in time for FJ tonight *sigh*. I've been doing the globle capitals which is helping refresh me, as it's been a while since I did the Jetpunk quizzes, but couldn't sort through all the countries/capitals in time.

Well, I was thinking of Kofi Annan, so guessed Ghana and apparently don't know what hemisphere that is in. I was also mildly confused whether they meant north/south or east/west.

I agree on both counts - I might give Yogesh more benefit of the doubt if not for his profession, though. But I really hated everything about that DD. I also went with Judges, but recognized it was probably wrong.

I had the girlfriend pegged pretty quickly, and I was certain when she called Parker when she was "being kidnapped". Didn't love this episode, as I found it fairly run of the mill, but I know those types of episodes are to be expected.

Thanks for this - I had also guessed Plutonium but didn't want to look up how badly I was off by. This makes me feel better about it! Today I initially said 1876, but didn't think that made much sense. I then decided on "100 years after the emancipation proclamation" but didn't know the year of that.
