I coudn't think of a worse ending then Sam dying for good and Dean becoming a drunken recluse. He's stronger than that. He thought Sam was gone for good in s6 but he still managed to go on. Dean is such an iconic character that to see him fizzle out in that kind of ending is such a disservice to the character Jensen created. I hope they at least let him go out with dignity if he doesn't go out in a blaze of glory. If Dean hunted without Sam, it wouldn't' bother me.

I took her touching it as a gesture of comfort. That she touched it to show Dean that even thought she knew what he did, she understood.

Since I'm missing Dean, I thought this would be a good time to start the episode by episode discussion again. Discuss Dean in episode 10. Season 1 Asylum Season 2- Hunted Season 3- Dream a little Dream of Me Season 4- Heaven and Hell Season 5- Abandon All Hope Season 6- Caged Heat Season 7- Death's Door Season 8- Torn and Frayed Season 9- Road Trip Season 10- The Hunter Games Season 11- Devil in the Details Season 12- Lily Sunders has some Regrets Asylum- This is basically the ep that turned Supernatural from a show I enjoyed to must see tv for me. It may be strange but I like that they took the route of Sam pulling the trigger because it smashed those tv tropes. It showed that these brothers had a lot of deep resentment towards the other. It cemented what the shape shifter wearing Dean's face was expressing Dean's face when he said Dean was jealous of Sam. There was also a small blink and you'll miss it moment. It's when Dean took the phone from Sam and was talking to their dad. Dean was kind of hunched over in the bed, but the minute he heard his dads voice he snapped to attention. It was just another layer that Dean added that made me want to know more about Dean's past. The only thing I didn't like was that what happened was swept under the rug instead of dealt with. (Unfortunately, the start of a pattern). Hunted- Another great episode. I know Gordon was tied more to Sam but I always thought his interactions with Dean were interesting. Another great non verbal from Jensen when he hears the explosion and isn't sure if Sam was alive or dead. Dream a Little Dream of Me- My favorite of the episode 10. I loved everything about Dean in this one. His confrontation at the end was surprising when started going off on John about how he was never there and Dean finally admitting he didn't want to go to hell. It can't be said enough. Where is Jensen's Emmy? "Your going to die and this is what your going to become."* Nice bit of foreshadowing there. Heaven and Hell- Not a great ep over all but so many stand out Dean moments make it on of the best ep 10's. For his interactions with Alistair, to the final battle with the angels and demons. Dean just looked like a scared little boy when he was sat there with his flask. You could tell he was terrified about going back to hell. But I loved Alistair and wish we got more of him and Dean interacting. I feel like there was more there to be explored. But Dean's confession at the end of this episode. Is there really anything I can say, other than where the hell is Jensen's Emmy? Heartbreaking. It's not often I cry at during TV shows but Jensen made me tear up. Seriously, give this man an emmy. Abandon All Hope- Another great ep. This gave me Crowley. I miss Dean and Crowley's interactions. It tugged at all my emotions when the death of Ellen and Jo. I liked that Jensen remembered Dean's scared of hell hounds. There was another small but powerful moment. It was when Dean was on the radio with Bobby. You could tell Dean was trying and failing to hold it together. He was about to fall apart. We saw Bobby recognize this and pull him back. It was probably the last real Bobby/Dean moment I enjoyed. But it also showed that you can be sympathetic to what Dean is experiencing and also get through to him. Tough love isn't what Dean responds to. It's compassion. Caged Heat- Not the best ep. But I did like Dean's take no crap attitude toward Samuel. It shows a massive difference in how the writers handled Dean working for people he distrusted. He questioned Samuel at at every turn and never trusted him. He didn't file report and show up for duty. Give me this Dean anytime. Death's Door- I was over Bobby by the time this episode aired but again, I loved Jensen's performance. His fear and anger over losing Bobby was palpable. You could feel it oozing out of every pour of Dean's body. The scene where they ask about Bobby's organs, I felt fear for the social worker. Dean's anger was just as intense. Did I happen to mention Jensen really needs an emmy? Torn and Frayed- Terrible episode. I liked Dean walking out on Sam at the start but of course that wasn't allowed to stick. Once again everything Sam did was swept under the rug and he got his way. But that is a topic for another thread so I'll leave it at that. Road Trip- Another stellar performance from Jensen. Give me a Dean/Cas and Crowley road tripping any day. Dean's scene's with Cas were fantastic. I loved that Cas was supportive and didn't judge Dean. You could feel the guilt eating Dean alive. Not really a Dean moment but I really liked Cas's little smirk when Dean told Crowley he couldnt' sit in front and then his frown when Dean told him to get in the back too, made me laugh harder than I should have. The Hunter Games- Another ep I loved Jensen's performance in. His scenes with Metatron were dark and scary. The Devils in the Details- I'm not even sure why Jensen was in this one other then his contract. It was like Dabb wrote the script and realized he forgot to include Dean so he shoved him in and let him carry a box. I also hated the never seen before or heard from again smiting sickness as a way to keep Dean out of his own storyline. Terrible episode. Lily Sunder has some Regrets- more of a Cas ep but I did like that we finally got some extended Dean and Cas scenes. I also liked how we got confirmation that its Dean that is Cas's humanity. You could feel Dean's worry over something happening to Cas. Overall episode 10 seems to be strong from my Dean fan POV. Favorite- Dream a little Dream of Me and Abandon all Hope. Least favorite- Torn and Frayed and The Devil in the Details.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
ILoveReading replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Jack doesn't even have a dark side. I doubt he'll even go beige let alone evil. I doubt this. They've already established that Mary barely wants anything to do with her own kids. Since I figure Jody and Donna will be mother figures to the teenage hunter sues, its really going to put Mary in a bad light if she's suddenly on board to be a mom to teenager she barely knows. I'm not really sure Dabb and Co. have a clue who the big bad is. I figure they're using the wall method. Introduce a bunch a potential big bads and see which ones the audiences responds to the most. Michael, Asmodeus, Ketch, The Shadim. I doubt they have a clue what to do with any of these character. They've already admitted they make it up as they go along. I really like Ketch but I'm sure they'll redeem him becasue apparently no one is really allowed to be evil. I'm sure Lucifer will be a good guy by the end of the season. Michael with either go to Mary or Sam. Jack will probably take care of The Shadim and Asmodeus. (Or Sam will). Dean will...be there I guess. -

Exactly. If no one is talking about Sam, Dean or Cas its because there have been no spoilers for them. I can't remember the last time the writers talked about Sam and Dean or we had an interview that didn't focus on Wayward or Jack. They've taken over the show and Sam and Dean are now there to facilitate their stories. -
Didn't the spoiler say that we're going to see another side of Donna's characterization? Since Perez does like to copy and paste from past episodes I can also see this happening.

I've had the pleasure of attending 3 Jensen meet and greets. He does get more show based/Dean questions and he usually has very thoughtful answers and makes the person who asks feel like they're the only person in the room. (or that is what I felt when I get lucky enough to ask a question._ I've been picked twice and asked a technical question, and a show question and both times got thoughtful answers. He might be a little more personal with a smaller group but I find with his solo panels, its the same thing. Jensen will give thoughtful answers, even to show related/Dean based/plot based questions. So I don't think its just because of editing or filming out of sequence. It just seems the audience is less interested in show based questions or would rather ask what kind of drink they'd be then why Dean would give up on Mary. I find this does happen a lot with joint Jared and Jensen panels, especially if Jensen gets a plot based question. Jared will interrupt until Jensen gives up or Jensen will just make a joke. I was watching on panel where someone asked Jensen what was going through Dean's mind during the scene in 12.02 where he is sitting on the floor drinking and looking at pics of Mary. Jensen joked alcohol. I really don't beleive that would have been his answer in a meet and greet or a solo panel. I think it depends on the guest. I've been to the question mike 3 times. No one screened my question for Julian Richings or Emily Swallow but my question was screened for Kim and Brianna at Hon Con

I was checking the spoiler sheet and there is a character named Wendy Hanscum listed for ep 11, which is supposed to be Donna centric. I googled the actress, Sarah Dugdale and she's only 22. So I'm guessing this is going to be Donna's sister. The name of the episode is Breakdown, and was originally supposed to be the vampires on a train ep, the concept which has been scrapped according to the spoiler sheet. This this is Perez who is paint by the numbers, I'm guessing that this is going to be Donna's sister, who is killed by Vampires. Donna will decide she wants revenge and goes after the vampire that kills her. She'll get in over her head, but in the end she'll still manage to save Sam and Dean who come to rescue her because "girl power." Then she probably won't get the Head vampire so she'll decide to quit being a sherrif and go join Jody and the gang until she exacts her revenge. http://ibelieveinthelittletreetopper.tumblr.com/post/162826766658/supernatural-season-13-spoiler-sheet

I think what bothers me about this isn't so much that they are amateurs its that they are teenagers. Sam and Dean were never given a choice. They had hunting forced onto them when they were kids. Sam had a demon stalking him so the life was always going to come after him. They didn't really have options. These girls have choices. They have a support system. That support system seems to want to push them towards the hunting life. Patience is pyschic but she doesn't necessary have to be a hunter. She can embrace her gift and use it to help others. (ex, helping police find missing kids). If Claire wants to hunt, fine but it seems like Alex wants nothing to do with it. Kaia seems to stuck between a rock and a hard place with the dream walking, but again that doesn't really need to translate to actively hunting. Despite having options it seems like the show wants ignore this for "girl power hunters" It seems to me Jody and Donna's advice should be "Dean isn't wrong. Hunting can lead to a life of pain, but the show wants to seem to ingore this. Jody is the wise female, and Dean is just the male muscle. If the show gets picked up it may explore these issues further but it once again shows me that the show is really changing hunting from a cold hard life to a magical quest and all you really need is an app and an attitude to be successful.

In addition to the extra panel, Gold has more autographs. Silver, I believe is 5 autos, and Gold is anywhere from 8-10 depending on the convention. Both packages usually include Jared and Jensen autos, but Silver does not include Misha's. If you want his you have to buy it separately. Jared and Jensen only sign for Gold and Silver packages. Gold and silver also give you access to the Saturday night Louden Swain Concert. (Which I highly recommend) If you don't care about autos, then you can go Copper. It's a lot cheaper. There is nothing included except the concert. I know Misha is your favorite so if you wanted an opportunity to meet him you have the option of a single day general admission ticket or preferred admission ticket. The difference is preferred gets to pick a seat and the GA section is first come first served.

I was thinking of Berens/Dabb saying that in episode 11 the focus returns squarely to Sam and Dean. The last spoiler says that episode 11 is Donna centric and basically her set up to join Wayward. They like to contradict themselves.

I was confused too, but I think the JDM is supposed to mean Jensen, Danneel and Misha

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers

From the regular spoiler thread. The WinchesterS will be generals- The S stood for Sam. The WinchesterS will be dad to Jack- The S stood for Sam. I'll believe Dean is important when it plays out on screen and not in a Dean is important becasue he drove Sam to his destiny kind of way -
Responding in Bitter spoilers thread.

Exactly why not draw them and then have your hand over so when the angels come in all you have to do it slap your hand over it before the angels have a chance to do anything. Not to mention they keep telling us Jack is the most powerful thing in the universe, he can destroy it with a sneeze. Is the audience supposed to believe he can't handle a few angels when we saw him do it before in the episode. Jack not using his powers makes no sense.

https://thejabberwock.tumblr.com/post/168324580471/tactile-dean-the-gestures-and-stressed-finger The last picture is what I was talking about earlier where Dean just looks so done.
-
My headcanon is this is Dean trying to protect himself. He can't handle something happening to Cas so if he's checking in with Sam, saying he'd fine then Dean can tell himself that Cas is fine.
-
There was scene I liked. It was near the start of the episode where Dean walks into the War room and drops food on the table. He sits down and kind of bites his lip and figits a bit. He just looks so tired and bone wary. So while the show appears to have dropped Dean's PTSD and grief arc again, I do appreciate that Jensen is trying to remind viewers.
-
It soundn't be. Character growth should be a factor. Starting a 3rd apocalypse isn't something the writers should be putting on the Winchester's shoulders
-
I just find it sad that the Winchester's legacy will be villains and the worlds biggest threat rather than ending the show as heroes.
-
No matter how many times Sam might have wanted to he never acted on it. It was Dean who forced Kaia to do it at gunpoint, so the aftermath is on Dean, unfortunately. At 13 seasons character growth is a good thing.
