Not good news for me, as I don't have cable. Guess my days of watching Days is done. 😢

LOL. I know the feeling. Part of my is ready for it to end, and the other part wants it to go on forever.

One of the mods on Daytime Royalty posted that the news came out earlier than the show was intending. And that when that has happened in the past, Ken Corday and TPTB, just ignore the news, and finally make their "announcement" when it was originally intended. So maybe they'll say something eventually.

I turned it on briefly yesterday, and also found it boring. And though this isn't a new issue, I was seriously distracted by all of them, particularly the women, wearing winter like long sleeved clothes. How I miss the days (pun intended) when they'd have scenes that depicted the season as being summer. Like something on a beach. Or even just a picnic in murder park.

Now that the news has had time to settle in, I too am feeling really sad. Though I didn't watch for a long time in the early 2000's, I've been a fan since around 1982, and have been watching regularly again since 2014. I've always known the show would end, likely sooner than later, but I thought it would be announced in advance, and the writers would have time to wrap things up. This way, fans who don't have Peacock, or don't want to pay to watch their show, will just not get to see it anymore after Sep 9th. And unless they've known about this for 6+ months and wrote things to cover the change, that Friday show will likely end just like any other Friday show, not like the last show of a 50+ year era. I'm cautiously optimistic that Global Canada will continue airing the shows, but won't be surprised if they don't.

Another Canuck here, also wondering what that means for us. At first I thought maybe it would continue as is. But then I saw some speculative comments on Twitter about the episode lengths possibly changing, or no longer being 5 days a week, plus that they'd now be able to put more adult content in the show, all of which might mean it would no longer be compatible with Global's afternoon airtime. I guess we'll find out soon, but I'm feeling pessimistic. 😟

From today's episode we learned that Stefan has been kept alive by machines the past 4 years. Rolf could have brought him back to life when he first died, except Gabi gave Stefan's heart to Julie before Rolf could intervene. So Stefan has had a mechanical heart ever since, just waiting for a donor heart, and there is no better match than that from an identical twin. So Stefan, presumably, will be Stefan and all his own memories, just with his twin's heart.

Wasn't sure if I was going to watch today or not, but it started to rain, so I ended up staying inside, so turned on tv. And surprisingly rather enjoyed the episode today. I was just going to post something similar, as I'm enjoying LG's acting for the first time in a long time. Last time I saw her, she thought she was Renee, and that was painful to watch. And prior to that she was always so giggly and little girlish around Xander. So it's nice to see her acting like an adult.

Leo's still around. 😡 Wish he and his bestie Gwen would go back to where they first knew each other.

Totally ridiculous that she cared more about the stupid shares than the fact that Jake, her former love, was dead. 🙄

I watched again today, and honestly was rather bored. I really don't care about the Chanel/Johnny/Allie triangle, but am glad it's hopefully over, as the bickering between the twins was annoying. Enjoyed Paulina and Kate., and to a lesser degree Abe and Roman. I do like that Abe and Paulina are married, and I'd be ok with Roman forgiving Kate, as I think they make a good pair. So Abe's gonna run for governor? Guessing he won't win, but if he did, wonder who'd become major. Gabi and Ava, and the marriage plan seems doomed to fail, but I suppose Gabi can bribe someone at city hall to get the paperwork. But so tired of Dimera shares and the power struggle, and really don't care who wins, just make it stop already. Like others, I like nu-Sonny. He fits the role well. Back when I first started re-watching in 2013, Chad and Sonny had the little bar/coffee shop, and I liked their friendship then, so like that they remember they're friends all these years later. I'd read that Dr. Rolf was going to be back, and that it was going to be a different actor, so I wondered how that would work, so was pleasantly surprised that nu-Rolf was close enough to original(?)-Rolf that the recast wasn't glaring.

I'm so out of the habit of watching now, that most times even if I'm around at airing time, I don't bother watching. But I did turn it on today, and have a few thoughts. 1) Eric / Nicole - Oh, .. Rafe. Haven't missed you, buddy. And I see you're already jealous of Eric. 2) Brady / Chloe / Kristin - BORING 🥱 3) Sara / Maggie - really enjoyed those scenes, and liked the Sara character for the first time in a long time 4) Gwen / Xander / Sara - why is Gwen still on the show? Abigail's dead, and Jack's retcon daughter is still alive. I didn't even really like the Abigail character, and that just seems wrong. 5) Jake / Ava - actually kind of liked them as a couple, but Jake's accent still gets on my nerves 6) Sonny / non-Ben - had read spoilers about RSW coming back as a new character. Since it took me YEARS to see Roman and not Chris, can't imagine I'm going to not see Ben for a long time. 7) Sonny / Gabi - oh right, forgot about them. Another business story, also BORING

I watched today for the first time in well over a month, and enjoyed it. Actually liked everything about the wedding. Loved seeing Eric looking ever so fine. And of course Nicole was there as a guest. Made my Ericole heart happy. My only nitpick would be Allie and Johnny still being snippy with each other. I know it's because they're competing for Chanel, but I somehow thought after Allie sacrificing herself to save Johnny from the devil, they would be closer now. Not sure when I'll watch again. Has Abby's funeral happened yet? I don't particularly want to see faux-Jennifer mourning, but I would like to see JJ.

I guess I'm less upset over killing Abigail, as since this is Days, no one is ever dead dead. But it's the rumoured brutality that's upset me. Maybe it's not true, but it's so horrific, that I can't imagine why the rumour got started, if it wasn't true. I'm unashamedly a Cin fan. And I like Ben. However, Days really does not need to recycle another actor into playing a different role. It took forever for me to see JT as Roman and not Chris, so there's no way I'll quickly see "Ben" as someone else. I think the issue is neither KM or MM want to be on the show. But either recast, or kill her off in some other method other than a brutal murder.

I almost hate to ask, but did Ron write that storyline?

I'm not even a fan of Abigail, but I HATE that they are killing her off, and the possibility of it being as brutal and horrific as the rumours suggest, has made me basically stop watching. I still read the spoilers a bit, and maybe once it's over I'll start watching again, but I really have no desire to be "entertained" by the brutal murder of Jack and Jennifer's daughter, and mother of 2 children. And if she's pregnant, as next week's promo is hinting at, then it's even worse. And then to top it off, faux-Jennifer will be onscreen for the funeral. 🙁

Here's more unaired scenes. Not saying that Ron's writing is perfect, but these deleted scenes does make you wonder how much else that he writes doesn't make it to air.

Not that I want anyone to lose their job, but it wasn't until Susan came screeching onscreen that I realized how much I haven't missed her or Kristen.

This devil storyline has been going on for a tiring long time, but I will say Alliedevil is doing the best job of making things seem sinister. Particularly her scenes with Ciara today. And yesterday with Ben. Loving having Eric back. 💓 Jan going home with Shawn is pretty stupid. But this is a show where she got pregnant by the devil shape-shifting her into another woman's body, or however that was explained. So pretty much anything that happens now with this storyline will just be a continuation of that.

These last 2 episodes have been really good. I know every episode can't be this much fun, but it is nice when we get them.

I had to Google Jackie Cox, as I didn't know what was factual and what was fictional. Turns out he really was born in Canada. Obviously not married to Leo though. LOL. I was a bit surprised wedding #1 didn't finish. So does this mean Craig's gonna go back to New York. Did he even quit that job. At the speed everything happens in Salem, he should probably still be working his 2 week's notice. Guessing marriage #2 isn't going to be completed either. It really is rare for Salem to have an uneventful wedding, isn't it. LOL

I'm in Canada, though, so not sure if we can get Peacock or not. I never did see the Christmas one, but found the one with the stolen jewels online. I think it eventually aired on a cable station here, but not positive.
