  1. I thought it was pretty funny that Ken stated they wanted two words for the Lose a Letter category and Marcus, just a few minutes later, answered with one word.
  2. Definitely! Howard had both! Deborah took his custard and used it so he had to use hers, judges judged it separately and said his was better. Then Sue (the host) put her elbow down on one of his English Muffins, which were rising.
  3. I want to say yes, but I think that had to do more with having to clean all the glass shards at his work station. It wasn't even his bowl. It was one of the glass containers of ingredients sitting on his bench.
  4. I was expecting Ken to say something about 'Robbie Burns' the way Alex used to, with an accent.
  5. Not sure exactly how that scene played so I can't answer your specific question, but I do know they shave off scenes in New Tricks. On my dvd there is a scence in one of the episodes of Esther getting an immigrant to build a corner cupboard and Brian being suspicious. All the scenes that have to do with the cupboard or the immigrant have been cut when I stream it on Britbox or Acorn (whichever it's on, I don't remember)
  6. On Twitter Lily pointed out that the podiums used to have a 'space' pattern, stars on a dark blue on the sides of the podium, now it's an ombre effect of blue to white (I think).
  7. I don't think being 'upside down' made any difference at all to the pattern. They could do their own plait 'upside down' so it looked exactly like what Paul was doing. Basically you just take the outer strand of whichever side had more and put it in the middle. The part most of them screwed up was how long to make the strands and that didn't, or shouldn't, have taken any time (so Paul going 'fast' shouldn't matter) and it didn't matter if they saw it upside down, the length of the strands would be the same whichever way you looked at it. I don't see how they could have looked at the example, seen what Paul did with it, and still made short stubby strands.
  8. And not just British, Slovakian too!
  9. I felt embarrassed for her, to only get one of the Kiddie Lit clues? And it's not like she was beat with the buzzer, two of those were TSs.
  10. That would be interesting! Why do they make Nikki wear Vera's clothes? Emilia Fox is a beautiful woman, she would look good in slacks and a shirt, why put her in sweater vests and weird tops with orange epaulets and shapeless skirts? I can only see Nikki/Jack ending a couple of ways: One of them gets killed Both of them sail off into the sunset together
  11. I thought Nikki was living there too, then in the last episode it looks like he might move into her place? leaving Cara and Velvy in the other house? I was a bit confused. Gabriel said it was but they were applying for an extension?! I've watched this show for years, rewatched it many times, yet it was only last season that I suddenly realized the voice singing with the opening music is saying Silent Witness in Latin.
  12. I know! I didn't say she got a handshake. I was just wondering if she would have gotten one if she wasn't first. Paul was very complementary about her bake and I could almost see his thoughts that he couldn't give one to the very first person with the very first bake. Then he felt safer later and gave one to Illiyin who I also know wasn't judged first. I don't know how you read what I said and came up with the exact opposite?
  13. John reminds me of someone, I just can't remember who. The duck was very well done. I wonder if she, Sumayah, hadn't been the first to be judged on her Signature if she would've got a handshake? Seems like a good bunch of bakers and Alison and Noel seem to be working well together.
  14. I first went to the Virgin Island but wrong place, then tried to think if Isabella led me anywhere, then finally just before the music was up said Marianas. Also got Willow and Data.
  15. I was also 'raised Catholic' which didn't stick but it irritated me through the whole game and I was very happy he didn't win so I wouldn't have to be irritated through more games. It's not his name, he's not my priest, I'm sure he could stand being called Steve for 30 minutes. FJ was another of those brain freezes, I knew the movie, I knew the title was a phrase, I knew Spike Lee directed it, but it just would not come to my mouth. I hate when that happens. A long while back my oldest daughter and I decided to watch all the movies on AFI's 100 Movies 100 Years list, we started at 100 (Yankee Doodle Dandy) and went up as we had time. Some years later they revised the list and Do the Right Thing was one of the movies added so I watched it then.
  16. the Percy Jackson stories are based on Greek Mythology
  17. To be a full blood all of your grandparents need to be magical Harry's maternal grandparents were not. I've also seen that almost all your ancestors need to be magical, but either way Harry was considered a half blood.
  18. The part of the clue that gave me the answer was that the character was 12 in the first book. That was Percy Jackson, Harry was 11. The Half-Blood Prince was Snape who was an adult in the first book. Percy even goes to Camp Half-Blood. Was Jeopardy on as usual in the Chicago area Monday? Mine did not record, but today's did?
  19. Plenty old here too, but I did know he was married to her, I could picture her, knew she was on Mork & Mindy, knew about her costar Schaeffer being killed by a stalker, even knew her name began with a D! but her name (which I knew) just would not manifest enough for me to say it. I got Cook by just wildly guessing since he was around there so much. I said bull instead of cow, do you think that would've counted? Got Temple and Pitch Black, Sepia and Honey Badger, portmanteau and alabaster. I got to Iris but not to iridescent. Did not get FJ
  20. I did too, long time ago we cataloged a book about those pins, but I had to look her up to be sure because our local cut away just at the end of the think music to tell us that James Earl Jones had died. Which is sad, he was a great actor with a great voice but I think they could've waited just another minute.
  21. I said bat, then said oops! that's not an ancient animal, so then I said dinosaurs (even though I knew it would have to BMS) so when I saw the answer I kicked myself for not combining the two to guess the correct answer. Long ago myself (the eldest) my 18 mo younger than me twins and another brother 18 mo. younger than them were walking home from school. One of my brothers slid into a little sinkhole that had opened up between the sidewalk and the street, the other brother had grabbed him and yelled for my sister and I (who had walked ahead) and we ran back and helped him out. This same brother once fell out of a window, 1st floor not 2nd, but he was fine. So if I had heard those those quicksand and window stories I would probably have believed them, but I always skip the interviews.
  22. It also seemed like he didn't wait to be acknowledged when he answered after Erika got something wrong.
  23. Like the vegetable for the first part, and then id. Sorry for double post but I just wanted to ask, What did you make of all the corrections on the Archive? If you just read it I don't know if you could tell that when Isaac hit the DD, Ken basically paused the game and handed out all the corrections at once so he could wager knowing the true scores. At one point Kathy was in the red and then immediately above 0 in the next correction. It truly was wild seeing the scores bounce back and forth.
  24. I was wondering about the BMS asked for her? Drew was in the clue were there other famous female Barrymore's? the pic wasn't John or Lionel. Got the TSs of Chevy, Underwood, Ethel Barrymore, tribes of Israel and Baron Munchausen. I got as far as The Song of Roland for the paladins/knights clue but that's as far as I got. ETA: I also got FJ
  25. Christine seemed like she needed to go home and take a nap.
