  1. From the critiques, looks like Amanda's definitely a favorite to win it
  2. I hate it say it, but I think Amanda might have the win. Out of the 4, I hated it the least.
  3. The fringe coming down the runway looks like a car wash
  4. Oh no! The triangle patch on Kini's last dress looked like it was a bikini bottom when view from a distance. Yikes! What a shame, I was really hoping he'd knock it out of the park. Kinda hard when he had to revamp the whole collection in 24 hours.
  5. Kini just loves black & white, doesn't he?
  6. Wings707, I completely agree with you about Fade. I wish Tim had waited to use the save on him!
  7. The dress Char is wearing looks better than some of the items in her collection Does anyone think Char's "Fly" shirt looks like those "Choose Life" shirts from the 80s?
  8. Still not digging the maxi dresses
  9. Amanda's collection looks better "live" than in the spoiler pictures
  10. I think they're trying to set up Char (multiple saves) or Amanda (redemption arc) for the win. I really would like Kini or Sean to win. However, I don't think the PR producers will let that happen.
  11. If Chris March is out early, I'm not watching :(
  12. How many more of these "filler" episodes are we going to get until we finally see the wedding? Geez, TLC, way to drag it out!
  13. An ugly soul was certainly revealed in all it's "glory" in this episode. Wow, I couldn't imagine Kornia acting even uglier than she did. What a horrible human being. So self-entitled. Whether you agree with Char being saved/given more chances or not, it does not entitle her (Kornia) to take it out on Char. Tim Gunn & the judges made those decisions. First, Kornia was ugly to Amanda, then Sandhya, now Char. She's just a bitter, mean-girl who can't take personal criticism. I completely agree with Emily's comments that Korina's negative energy is what did her in. Instead of focusing on crabbing & complaining about the extra dress, she should have focused on showing she was the designer she believes herself to be. I hope that her "return" next week is very short & brief, because I don't care to see more of her nasty attitude. I absolutely love how well Amanda & Kini worked together. I'm not a fan of Amanda's design esthetic (just not my cup of tea), but I really liked seeing how Kini & Amanda put their heads together & re-grouped after Tim's critiques. Instead of getting defensive (team Kornia/Emily), they took the time to figure out how to fix it. Way to go, "Psychedelic Yeti" :) Count me in with the anti-Mary Kay group. Their make up has always been over-priced and atrocious. My mother used to buy it in the 70s and I'll be darned if that Mary Kay plug isn't the EXACT same shade of green she used to buy in 1975!!!
  14. While I've never been a DCC, I was in a similar dance/cheer group in the 90s. We would always cut off the waist band of our tights. There's no way to wear hot pants with tights if there's a waist band. It'll make anyone look like they have a muffin top. The "shorts" we used to wear only came in small, extra small or extra-extra small. Even though I wasn't a big girl, I am tall. I had to buy the tights in queen size just so it wouldn't create artificial "bulges" at the top of the shorts. I second what ThreaLevelMidnight posted. We had to wear an additional colored pantyhose over the dance tights to make the color even out. Not fun when it feels like it's a hundred degrees in the shade! To keep this post on-topic: I *love* seeing the new squad announced!!! All the hard work is behind them. I love the tears of joy and looks of surprise & happiness. You really feel for the girls and all they've gone through to make the squad. I was *not* surprised to see Melissa Rycroft waiting in Breelan's locker for her. Like they were going to cut her after all the time they invested in her. Anyone else notice Breelan had the most camera time/still shots at the end of the show? When she's not tucking her chin, she's actually a pretty girl. There were a few times where she had a great smile on her face and looked confident. I can see why they wanted her on the squad. But when they show the pursed lips and tucked chin all the time, it makes you wonder what they see. Good to know it wasn't just to have another redhead. She can actually perform when she's not nervous & freaked out. I really felt bad for Ashley P. Why would they pull her in to the locker room to tell her something that obviously hurt her feelings? I don't think it served much of a purpose and seemed to be added "drama" for the sake of drama, than actual constructive criticism. I think that conversation would have been best to have in private, not on camera. I was glad to see she made the team, however, since she did so great during cameos, I felt they'd keep her after the positive comments on being photogenic. So bummed the season is over!
  15. I can only hope that Josiah finds a friend in a really rebellious attendee and they both realize they're 18 and, legally, adults. Then they just bust outta there and live a truly normal life. Unfortunately, we know that will never happen...
  16. When Cassie (Judy's daughter) auditioned, she had to sit out and refrain from putting in her input. I'm sure they had Victoria's boss do the same thing. No, I don't think K&J take all the judge's feedback equally. In the end, it always comes down to which girls K&J think are right for the team.
  17. I would love to see Chandler & Alexandra come back new & improved next season. They both appear to be very sweet girls. Did you notice in the parking lot after the cuts, everyone was surrounding them, but Vivian only had a few? I think that speaks volumes. Regarding Vivian: I think with the backlash they received last year for cutting Vivian, they wanted to make it absolutely clear why she was auf'ed this season. It could be that she was just as vain & full of herself last season but didn't want to call her out on it. This year, her smug, conceited manner was just awful. When they were announcing the TCCs at finals, she sat there with a look on her face like she already knew she was in and my first thought was "well, her fan feedback certainly went to her head". She seemed to think she didn't need to make an effort to try hard because she felt she was a lock to get in, that it was already a given. The poem: Did she really keep that poem tucked in to her dance shorts the whole time? That's even more bizarre. I think her true colors came out. Putting other TCCs under the bus, saying she's a "damn good dancer", etc. What happened to having DCC poise? She was the only one that didn't get the "please come back next year" talk. Again, that speaks volumes. I really hope they focus on some of the other TCCs we haven't "met" yet. It was nice getting some background on Victoria, but I wish it would have been earlier in the season. They should really do a short background spot on EACH of the TCCs at the beginning of training camp!
  18. Thank goodness we don't have to be subjected to more Sandyha monstrosities any more! I find it funny that she's rude and arrogant to others, but the second she receives criticism, the tears are flowing and everyone is "being mean" to her. She basically told the judges to "f*$% off" with the way she responded to their critiques on the runway. I wish Tim Gunn had given the tough love speech to her earlier in the season. She truly thinks she's "all that and a bag of chips". I'm just hoping the PR producers see the majority of their fan base do not like her so she's not brought back for All-Stars.
  19. I'm just glad he got the win to himself this week. I still think he was robbed of the win in the wedding challenge. That black dress was stunning! My niece adores American Girl dolls and she'd be head over heels for Kini's design this week. Heck, I'd love that coat in an adult size :)
  20. One of my favorite past season designers is Malan. The sadness of his back-story really touched a chord with me. I was really rooting for him and I just loved his designs. I even bought a purse he designed back in 2007. I got so many compliments on it! He wrote me such a nice e-mail, thanking me for buying the purse. I always love to see that he's still out there, working hard. I also appreciated Laura's construction that season. My mother & I live in separate states and we always watch PR together by synching the playback on our DVRs. She's the kind of person that can look at anything and sew it. It amazes me. So when we watch, we really take a look at their design process and sewing techniques. Her favorite personality was Chris March, but designer was Christian Siriano. I just love that even though we're miles apart, we can watch the show together and chat on the phone and make comments. It's like we're in the same room together :)
  21. Treestar, you hit the nail on the head!!!! If I have to see yet another monstrosity of Sandyha's get praised, I'm going to puke. She could send a steaming pile of crap down the runway and the judges would fall all over themselves, exclaiming "how original!" "how unexpected!" "normally, I don't like steaming crap piles, but it really brings across her point of view!" UGH!!! As for the episode itself, what does Kini have to do to get some love? While Sean's dye trick looked great on the runway, the dress itself was nothing spectacular or intricate.
  22. I've been watching this series since the first special aired in 2005. Here's my 2 cents on what I think needs to be changed to improve the show: 1. Please introduce ALL the training camp candidates, even if they won't be "featured". It can be as simple as announcing each one during finals (instead of hearing Kelli call out 10 or so names). It drives me insane when I have to say "who is THAT?" when they decide to feature a TCC later in the series when they didn't show them from the beginning. During auditions, it's fine to focus on a few who won't make it and the "chosen few" who will get in. But at least introduce ALL the rookies so we know who is whom! 2. More dance, less crotch/boob shots. I'm a woman. I watch this show because I used to wish I could be a DCC when I was a little girl. I love seeing how hard the girls work to make the team. I'm not a voyeuristic male (although I notice my teenage son doesn't demand I change the channel when this show is on...LOL). I don't want to see crotch/boob shots. I want to see the girls working hard to make the team. 3. More thorough deliberation by the judges during the judging process. Right now, it's so heavily edited that it appears like the judges don't have much of an input. For example, the one female judge with the short brown hair typically gets her sentences cut off and no one seems to listen to her opinion. I'm sure that's not the case in the real world or else she wouldn't be a judge from year to year. It seems like Kelli moves right on before the discussion is actually over. I'm sure this is just editing, but that's the way it comes across. I love the audition & judging process. Don't make it so disjointed! 4. If all the TCCs aren't introduced during finals, then the next opportunity could be on Orientation night when they introduce themselves. I also used to love seeing who was a Big Sister to the TCCs. Do they still do this? If so, please keep showing it. It feels like there's more continuity and connection when you see a favorite DCC paired with a TCC you're rooting for. 5. I think I might be in the minority on this, but I miss the Power Squad segment. I know many people didn't care for Jay. However, I loved seeing how physically demanding it is to be a DCC. I especially liked to root for my favorites to make the Power Squad. 6. As stated several times in previous posts, more focus on learning the dances! 7. As also stated above, I would like more episodes AFTER the team has been announced. While I like seeing the first game, I also want to know who is a team leader, who made Show Group, public appearance (especially 1st appearances by the rookies), etc. 8. More interaction between the vets & TCCs (not staged interactions). Especially Big Sisters working with TCCs on issues Judy/Kelli have mentioned. 9. While Kitty Carter can be harsh in her delivery, her critiques are usually spot on. It's hard to have a thick skin when you're young, but I typically agree with her assessments of the TCCs. Yes, she can be very brusque, but she knows what she's talking about. Instead of Melissa Rycroft "mentoring" the TCCs, I'd like to see them work with Kitty on their dance technique (or perhaps a vet or other instructor) 10. I'd like to see them practice when Kelli & Judy aren't watching. The TCCs always say they feel confident until K&J come in the room. We know they aren't at every single rehearsal. Maybe some footage when they're a little more relaxed and confident? It would help show how they change when K&J are in the room. 11. More field practice. It's one thing to dance in a studio, it's another to do it on the field.
  23. I can't believe they call themselves a loving, Christian family and they treat "Bin" in such an awful way. Making him scrub those nasty toilets? It makes me cringe to think how LONG those toilets have been that disgustingly dirty on their own property. Ewwww! I can only imagine that he's so wrapped up in thinking this is "true love" that he can't see the forest for the trees.
