  1. I agree with the cuts in general. Surprised about Logan I guess. And they kept the one they compared to Kelly Clarkson. Wasn’t a fan of hers.
  2. The first round winner has to be set. How else do they have cuisine specific judges available? I think the cheftestants just show up to get a good edit and free commercial for their endeavors.
  3. I think all of that scoring and shots of slide bar are fake. I think the judges choose who they want to win out of the 2 and that's it. After the first 2 acts go and there is someone in redemption they then pick if the next loser is better than the last loser to displace them out of redemption. Then the producer math bots go to work to manufacture the scores for TV. It doesn't make sense otherwise because there are too many slide bar categories and too much math variables to get the scores we are getting.
  4. anyone have the top 14 spoiler? or easier who the cut 6 were?
  5. Finally got to see Uche tonight. He's got a lot of energy. I look forward to seeing more choices but he's a tad bit much for me just based on that one song. The Jolene girl - if they didn't want to critique a 16 year old singing it with more grit, why did they advance her???? She has no grit to give....she's 16. Didn't like Wade or Alejandro "as much" tonight. Very talented singers but I can't wait to see how they do on theme nights. They still do theme nights right? They need to retire Mariah Carey songs. Yeesh that was bad.
  6. Duffs fiancée looks like his daughter....touching that he started crying though. Hope he made her sign a prenup but she’s going to anchor baby him lol Duffs cake concept was pretty cool. I like the idea of suspended cakes. I like the idea of glass. It was very well done for the time allotment. Buddy’s cake was large and.....flowery.
  7. If you think about it he's been on our screens for almost a year and we've not managed to eliminate him yet. C'mon America!!!!
  8. Is Myra Tran the girl with the horrible skin who sang in that horrible coat dress???? I've caught her a couple of times and I don't get her at all (if she's the one). She doesn't enunciate the words....she literally sounds like a foreign person to me who is phonetically singing songs in a different language. Shayy....hmmmm I recall a dog walker but not this girl or a song by adele. I do remember a girl who sang in a sequin dress with tennis shoes and was trying to sell us the Meghan Trainor song about not being a size 2....when she kind of looked no larger than a size 4. LOL Bad song choice for irony alone. Her dress was also to short for an elevated stage and her squatting down to slap hands with people. I'm surprised there is no stylist for AI to tell them these things that they mention in basic stage performance. Although if you let enough people look up your skirt you might get votes later.
  9. Thanks. Second mention the FMWB song so I guess I'll go find that one LOL! It was 3 hours tonight so it would even be a long watch on DVR. I caught it on and off all night. I think Jeremiah's parents or dad is a pastor. So I assumed there was an implied religious component to it? Or maybe they just don't approve of the lifestyle? I'm not well versed on which religions are alt lifestyle tolerant but I could be way off and maybe they just don't approve of him and his choices. Unfortunately a very common story for parents who aren't pastors. When they see how happy he is or how talented he is I'm not sure how you can not lend your support!!! But then again they probably think Hollywood and the music industry is the playground of the devil so maybe they are on to something LOL
  10. I'm shocked about Kai! Was she devastated? I saw her sing and thought she sounded great and LOVED her outfit. Very fresh. But she didn't exactly move the crowd. Is Jeremiah the gay kid who sang Landslide? That story is sad but glad he at least has his boyfriend. I kept thinking maybe they flew the parents in but alas no. Who was Uche????? I need to go back and watch the ones I missed.
  11. Well her parents were in the crowd and they looked proud LOL. I don't know the appeal of sexualizing these kids at such a young age....they already look so OLD with their mature hair and makeup....can we at least not let their "parts" hang out just because it's the quick appeal of the "industry?" If he or she has a good voice that will carry them through. You can wear a black potato sack and captivate an audience. Get off my Lawn! (and I'm not even that old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
  12. I haven't seen AI in years but I liked this elimination format a lot. Have they changed to this over the years? You basically get to see most of their live performance in front of the crowd and then their elimination (or not) right after. With so many contestants it's nice to see it this way. It's also smart because so many people may only get to see an episode here and there where this might be the first time they are catching any of the contestants....makes it not a necessity to know anyone.
  13. I did cringe when that guy didn't know that Hawaii was part of the United States and he didn't need a passport....or that Pearl Harbor was there....there is one thing to be naïve but another to be obtuse. That being said when he sings he's pretty mesmerizing. Listening to him after those twee blondes doing karaoke to country and pop songs just made them look even more silly to the casting stereotypes. I forgave him and also wanted him to put on a pair of shoes LOL Speaking of twee blondes....why is that 16 year old making it through? She might want to wear shorts that don't leave her entire netherregion hanging out when she does the poopy squat moves on stage. Yikes. I missed Evelyn....her voice makes me want to eat glass so i'm glad I missed it. I didn't see Kai the Singer....did she make it? When they closed with Iz version of Over the Rainbow I got chills.....man could saaaaang. yes
  14. To the guy who dedicated the song to his wife, wanted to find her in the crowd, point to her while singing and then leave the song with the big "I love you baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" See ya. His voice was pitchy and he was just strumming on his guitar....didn't seem like he had anything going for him. No sex appeal, country appeal, voice appeal. Meh That's what Eddie Island Yellow Glasses has going for him.....very recognizable voice. If I didn't have to watch what kind of train wreck choices he might make I'd like to listen to him sing a bit. He's so busy congratulating himself on being so unique and special that he doesn't realize how immature he is.
  15. Why do so many of these contestants have shoe allergies?
  16. Does anyone know anything about Aarti? She used to make a big deal about being diagnosed to have to maintain a gluten free diet and she’s clearly abandoned it. I can’t find any info on why she decided to stop. It supposedly was a medical diagnosed issue as she first explained it. These diagnoses don’t usually have a “I think you are cured now” element to them. I have to admit at the time I thought she was jumping on the bandwagon. If that turned out to be the case then I’m irritated. Watching her eat globs of bread and pasta while judging this show makes me wonder every single time.
  17. It's funny because as I read this and laughed, I actually thought of Christian during his season. His voice was almost exaggerated, he had catch phrases, exasperated sighs....he tried his hardest to be so unique and edgy and fabulous that he was exhausting. It was difficult to deny how fast he sewed, how locked in his actual design vision was or how talented he was.....after winning all of that nonsense that made him so exhausting peeled off. It probably won't happen for Hester because well...Marni. LOL
  18. I wanted to crop, edit and BOLD Sophia Vergera but my iPad is hating me right now...but soooooo this. I thought I was the only one. That accent reads shrill to me and I can feel my nerves start to rattle.
  19. Christian looked very dapper and handsome in his suit this week. He’s so comfortable being elegant now. He used to be such a cartoon character and now he’s a very confident (still young) man. Super fierce to see LOL
  20. I’m sure this is obvious but it seems like this was a good time to give the win to someone else....at this point it looks like Sebastian might kill in every challenge. Can’t wait to see what his Achilles might be. Hester is good TV and her anxiety and hand wringing is what she is there for along with Kovid. They will be running around on every challenge in tears if for some reason the whole thing doesn’t spark joy for them. Maybe they can all Kondo out themselves together LOL
  21. Is Tessa’s necessity for minimalistic designs and the anxiety that goes with it just seem odd to anyone else? She doesn’t like prints or colors? This entire challenge gave her such anxiety and this wasn’t even a hard one. Couldn’t she find a black and white print that she could have done something modern with? Or a tonal print? I hope they make her design something using 8000 neon multicolored latex balloons.
  22. I don’t find Hester as quirky and adorable as she thinks she is. She reminds me of someone who thinks they are incredibly unique and special because of the way they dress until they meet a bunch of other people who dress exactly like them. She’s lucky she got a guest judge who loved her aesthetic. Sebastian continues to amaze. Nina looked like she was doing some serious mental sudoku on how to hire and market him after she heard he still cleans houses when he needs a bump for fabrics. I’m excited for him....this show seems like it will truly launch his career.
  23. What I learned from this episode is to REALLY listen to Christian. Even more than Make it Work guy, Christian knows exactly how things are going to be judged. He hated Rakan's print, he hated the pants, he hated the draping, he hated everything they hated. Points for Rakan for sticking with his vision I guess..….but whew Christian has the crystal ball so when he tells you that your design looks dated or old lady or you are picking the wrong fabric, he ain't playin. Brandon the judge is Michael Kors reincarnated LOL. He's sassy and snarky and dismissive....all in a very TV friendly way. I like him a lot. Christian is better than Gunn....hard to believe but since he's a current high fashion designer he just has a different pulse for giving advice on this show. And I think he's shown a lot of restraint in his comments and when he gets yappy it's coming from a place of concern and love. You can tell he wants to fix everyone's stuff along the way but then remembers it's a TV show and someone has to go each week LOL
