  1. I needed a warning before looking at all those pictures. Almost lost my breakfast. And no mention of Joy, Austyn & Giddy being safe (hopefully) after the Forsythe's visit with them. I know the time frames don't coordinate but they could have added a sentence stating they are thankful the Forsythe's are safe, esp Joy after their visit.
  2. I'm not so sure Jill's drink is an alcoholic one. Could just be a virgin fancy lemon/lime concoction. But it does look very refreshing either way.
  3. Well you all know how I feel about these idiot parents, Carlin and Evan, from my previous posts. Carlin seems to be disgusted or upset at having to wear a mask when they go out. (This was before they tested positive.) Then when she does wear the mask, it's hanging down with her nostrils exposed and not covering her nose properly. One of their recent videos shows a surprise visit from Evan's sisters and her three daughters. Looks like they were in town, stayed somewhere else but spent time with Carlin, Evan and Layla. No mention made of Covid but not one of the visitors was wearing a mask to protect Layla. So here's another 4 people visiting from a different area, sitting right next to each other playing games & singing a lullaby to Layla (which was cute) without a care in the world. I wonder if Evan's parents watched Layla during their Covid outbreak? They seem to have watched her at other times.
  4. My mother didn't even recognize me after the birth of my son. She swears my hair changed color in the process. I think it was just that my hair turned darker with all the sweating I did. For some reason I found it comfortable to lay one of my arms across my forehead squishing whatever hairstyle I had started out with. A ponytail could have been worn sometime along the way too. I ended up with an emergency C-section so the OR shower cap only added to my birthing coiffure. My one epidural only numbed the top of my left thigh. I kept telling them this all along including when they were getting me quickly prepped in the OR. I didn't want them cutting into me when I could still feel my stomach. The last thing I remember hearing was the OB telling the anesthesiologist to "Knock her out." They were the best words I heard all day besides the nurse telling me I had a healthy baby boy when I came to.
  5. Your list of items cracked me up when it ended with the half of the cow. Like that is a normal grift item. My mother hated when she ended up sitting near one of these types of perfumed ladies at church. In her case the lady was covering up the smoke from the cigarette she had on the drive to church. ETA: Welcome to the group @Spazamanaz.
  6. I agree with you & I was one of those thin ladies. I was very thin when I got pregnant & it took us only two months of trying. When my OB was looking over my chart on the first visit he said I would have no problem with my weight since I was underweight to start with. I ate healthy and ended up gaining about 60 pounds total. I barely looked like I was pregnant throughout the entire 9 months.
  7. Happy Birthday to all the August birthdays out there. I've been stuck inside with some of you since this whole Covid thing started except for a few essential visits out since I am high risk. But there is a family wedding this mid-September that has been in the works for two years that I am definitely not missing. My only nephew & his fiance had to reconfigure their original wedding plans because of Covid. Luckily they were able to keep the original date (which has a special meaning to them) but have decided to do a smaller late afternoon ceremony & reception in their backyard with just some family & close friends. They are doing a larger party reception at the original venue on the same date next September with all the guests. Luckily they have a nice backyard & can spread everyone out and will be following safety guidelines. They have even designated a Special Guest Seating Section for a few of us that need a little extra attention and space. So me & my wheelchair, a great aunt with mobility issues & one of the bride's grandmothers will be sitting together in an easy accessible area on their deck. I thought this was very nice for them to accommodate us & am actually excited to be sitting with two ladies to discuss all things wedding rather than sitting with my husband and son who won't care about the wedding colors or how the bride's hair is fixed. I am a little antsy that my son (who has been my Covid protector) will jump up in the middle of the ceremony and yell across the yard to make sure I still have my mask on. But I'll take my chances. We didn't think there would be any wedding rescheduling or concerns for their September wedding when all this Covid stuff started back in the Winter. Who knew? Luckily being outside will help & they are renting a tent in case of rain. The bride, her mom and sisters are very crafty and creative and I'm really looking forward to seeing the decorations. (The decorations will surely be a another topic for discussion for us ladies in the Special Guest seating section.) I know any decorations will be better and classier than what Jill Rod used for Nurie. I just might lose it if the wedding colors turn out to be pale green & purple but if they are, I'm sure everyone will match & I'll be chuckling to myself.
  8. Hi neighbor! Hitting 50 was my downfall & I went straight down quickly. I could have written your post. I've been in a funk, health wise for months & I understand about your pain since I suffer badly from it as well as most of you know. I don't think I've slept well since Christmas even with meds. The doctors are trying to figure things out but I'm tired of feeling this way. I'm glad the adult coloring books are helping you as a distraction. I posted a while back my new obsession are planners & all the stickers & what nots that go with them. (Which is an industry in itself.) At first I got a planner to record my meds but I find I really enjoy decorating all the pages too. There are also plenty of You Tube videos about planners which helps pass the time & take my mind off my troubles too.
  9. Let's gas up the Stink Bus & take a road trip to Grandpa's Cheese Barn. That place looks delicious!!
  10. I guess I shouldn't snark on the Rodlet girl on the far left in the girl's group picture cuz at least she's wearing shoes but they look huge on her. Like they are Jill's or one of the older girl's castoffs.
  11. I think it was producer driven & TLC thought it would be funny showing her using the toy vacuum.
  12. I don't remember what birth it was but I thought the EMT said Jessa lost a unit of blood. Can any of our medical people explain how much this is & how severe it is? Well I guess it's not good when it gushes out of you all at once after childbirth. Of course, Jessa made it sound like it was a walk in the park, like she had a paper cut after it was all done. Thinking back, I think it was Spurgy's birth. She said she got Pitocin at the hospital after Ivy's birth.
  13. I know and it's not like an epidural is even a possibility for her. What is it with epidurals & these ladies? There was no need for Jinger to explain why she ended up getting one. It sounded like she was apologizing for getting one even though it worked & sped things up. Sure is different than the Bates girls who make sure they pick up their epidurals when they check in. I know Lauren had problems with her epidurals. Did Abby get one?(Sorry, i dont remember & can't wait til next week's episode to find out or did they do all the birth episodes last night & I fell asleep?)
  14. I'm not up to date on nurseries, but I agree with you I can't believe there isn't a rocking chair considering now she'll have 2 little ones. I tried out plenty of them when my son was born. I figured it better be comfortable because it was going to get plenty of use and it did. My mother was my son's daycare & she even treated herself to a new one as well for the same reason. Maybe times have changed. Does Gideon even own any shorts for the summer? It seems he is mostly shown wearing just a shirt and his droopy drawers. I think it's laziness on Joy's part but how difficult is it to put a pair of shorts on him?
  15. That entire family doesn't get it & I almost had a coronary when I saw the pictures of Anna Marie's Welcome Home celebration and return to Kansas. I know they were happy to have her home but much more could have been done safety wise to protect her & the family. At least they had the celebration outside but even tho they said they distanced, it didn't look like much. Gigi (Terri's mother?) was there and was sitting amongst them all. They did say there were no hugs but it looked like no one had a mask or face covering on either including the guest of honor which totally baffles me. If it was my family, the chosen ones to be there would have been wrapped in Saran Wrap. Anna Marie would have been wearing a haz-mat type of suit. No joke. We discussed this before but why do the Maxwells and others think the pandemic is over? Did they get a special message from God the rest of us didn't? There was another post about Terri & Steve shopping again at Costco & other stores. One of their followers asked about masks & Terri said wearing them is a requirement in a lot of the stores they shop at. She made it sound like they wouldn't be wearing masks if they had a choice. Another poster was amazed and complimented the Maxwells on bringing & using coolers & cooling bags to store their cold & frozen items for the longer ride home. Like this was the first time the poster had heard of this. They have also started back with their weekly Sunday family lunches. My head is swimming trying to imagine all the different contacts this group has. Hopefully Anna Marie is not joining in for the fun and games but you never know. Give her a few weeks and her picture will be showing up amongst the crowd.
  16. I'm not sure if the corn maze was in this episode or not but I'm talking about it here anyway. I can't believe how fast all the groups including ones with the pregnant ladies* were going through the maze. I have done many a corn maze in my time as this used to be Son of Barb's choice to celebrate his October birthday. The paths are cut out to follow but there are still plenty of loose stalks, pieces of corn and other corn remnants on the ground. All very easy to slip on or trip on and take a tumble. IIRC, there were also plenty of muddy spots to slip on and go down as well. Not good for any one yet alone a pregnant lady. ETA: Think some of them had flip flops on too. Definitely not corn maze footwear. * I'm confused with the the timeline as usual. Were Anna, Kendra and Lauren the pregnant ones? I thought Joy was as well but that doesn't figure out time wise or does it? I think Jessa (or whoever was carrying Ivy) was being unsafe as well if they were going at a good speed. I'm sure they were the only family in the maze as well. There is no way the management would let people race through as fast as the Dugg groups did.
  17. Did anyone else notice how marred up, crappy looking & cruddy the TTH side entrance door is in the video? It is shown quickly when Joy & Giddy arrive. It is the original door & it seems they use this entrance the most because it's near the parking area. Maybe the Duggar Construction Crew could remove themselves from the sofas & put in a new one.
  18. I was thinking he could ease his way into carving ice sculptures at midnight on a cruise ship.
  19. Me too. You're lucky to get some sharp Cracker Barrel cheddar on Ritz crackers with a couple of grapes thrown in on a good night in our house. If not, it's Cheez Whiz on saltines. I'll give Michelle a pass on her beach outfit if that's an adult beverage she is holding.
  20. Disregard ^^^ Not sure if this was discussed yet. Is Jill a Walmart or Sam's Club shopper? Shoppers in ALL their stores have to wear a face covering as of 7/20/20. It is mandatory & the stores will have only one entrance to control things. We already have to wear face coverings in public where I am so no big deal for us. I'm not sure how things were/are in Ohio for the Rods or how other public places will follow Walmart's and Sam's rules. I guess the Rod donations by the Dingus & other fundy families will have to be gotten by Walmart mail order if they won't wear face coverings. Back to the baby dolls.....It seemed my best friend & I played with our dolls & Barbies forever. We "spaced"our make pretend baby doll ages. We each had a life size looking one that could wear real baby clothes as the oldest & she was about 4 years old. The ages worked their way down with the youngest doll being an infant that came on a satin covered piece of cardboard for which we each saved & paid for with our own money. I still remember us gazing at them in the 5& 10 cent type of store (G.C. Murphy, for any mid-Atlantic coast posters out there in the mid 60's.) Think it took most of the summer for us to save the probably $2 they each cost but because we did it ourselves and it took awhile, they were one of our most treasured & loved dolls. I'm glad too Sophia got a brand new doll and a birthday party of her own. I would love to see what were in the take-away gift bags. Hopefully the Dingus' were in charge of them as well. BTW, when are the Royal Rod nuptials? I still need to get ready & clear my already empty calendar.
  21. Jinger did say that at the pool but she also explained earlier that her along with other siblings don't know how to swim & were never taught. Jessa & Joy were two of them, Joe didn't seem sure of his skills either. Not sure about the rest. They explained they could probably "swim" enough to get themselves to a safe place or out of the pool but wouldn't feel responsible with others. Good move on Jinger's part with Felicity. I thought she also mentioned a friend in Calif was teaching her (Jing) the basics but I could be wrong & she meant Felicity. Jeremy explained he learned to swim growing up at his grandparents. There was a TH of JB & M telling why some groups of kids learned to swim & others didn't. It also seemed they had their swim & non-swim groups mixed up. Once again, I don't remember details but you think after they finally owned a house with a pool, they all would have caught up on their swimming skills esp with having kids. They could wear their modest swimwear til their heart's delight. I know this was Mary's house but her accident didn't occur til last year, plenty of time for swim lessons.
  22. If the geese are looking for food at the Rods, they are in for a looooong wait.
  23. Does this scene have anyone else upset? Why are they in bare feet? Why aren't they wearing tie up shoes like tennis shoes? Any of them could have stepped on a (sharp) piece of whatever was left from the sparklers or fireworks (or anything on the lawn like a sharp stone)& injured their foot. Something still could get caught in flip flops, that's why I said tie up shoes. Why are they doing any type of fireworks with kids their ages wandering around to begin with? I didn't watch the entire video but Henry looks like he had the most sense when he tried to pull Ivy away from a certain area. Maybe Ben should have tested a few by himself away from the kids to see how "kid-friendly" they were. But I'm still going with my opinion that any type of fire work or sparkler is NOT kid friendly. THEY ARE IDIOTS !!
  24. @Mindthinkr. I would have your daughter run all this by their family doctor before doing any type of testing especially for your granddaughter with breathing issues. Why should the family be tested this soon if they show no symptoms? The results could come back negative, they think everything is fine & then two weeks from now start with symptoms? Hope things turn out for the best. ETA: I reread your post & it looks like they are supposed to wait for testing. But I would have them run everything by their doctor for advice.
