  1. @lookeyloo, you, your son & family remain in my prayers & thoughts. I will make sure you all continue to be in my MIL's prayer list. She will pray or send a good thought for anyone who needs it. @Scarlett45 Have a wonderful relaxing birthday. It is a beautiful sunny day here in Maryland & I'm hoping the sun is shining brightly in your area too. That was nice of your sister's caretaker to take care of her so you all can enjoy your special day's activities without worry. ETA: I'm adding a special wish that a former coworker and her six year old inner self used to sign the community work birthday card: "Hope you get lots of presents!" For some reason that always cracked me up when I read it. Maybe it was my six year old self laughing along. Have a relaxing weekend everyone.
  2. Do these courting couples even have a squabble/disagreement before marriage while courting or when they are engaged? Are they even allowed to or do they have to show the heathen world that they are perfect and have found the perfect partner and will always get along & never disagree or ever have a fight?
  3. Well a Christmas wedding would be a first for the Duggars. I know the Bates as well as the Maxwells have had them. I can already imagine heavy red velvet dresses accented with green bows. Jana better get a tune-up on her sewing machine. Doesn't Jim Bob own any other jacket except that black puffy one? He has to be wearing it for years now.
  4. Why didn't Jill make sure her sister's name Amy name wasn't added to her mother's, Patricia Noyes, bio along with her own name? It would definitely sound better that Mrs. Noyes helps out with the care of her SEVERLY DISABLED daughter even though the accident happened later in Amy's life.
  5. I think often about how bored these kids must be. Even being with their other cousins daily or not has got to feel the same for them. They always make comments when a new Duggarette comes along there will be plenty of playmate cousins for the new baby to play with. Hopefully this becomes true as they get older. Except the girl cousins won't be allowed to play boy cousins when they hit a certain age & vice versa. What a shame, my son & niece are a year apart and were the best of friends growing up even though they lived closed by but went to different schools. Life has taken them in different paths but they are still great friends as well as cousins. I think they consider themselves friends first then cousins. If this type of relationship happens to only one set of cousins, I'll be good.
  6. Good Lord, it looks like Joy grabbed the family size blanket off the sofa on her way out the door. She (or any of the other moms) didn't have a smaller receiving type with her that's more easier to use?
  7. My mother has a very similar pleated skirt that Jessa is wearing. One of her favorites, she loved pleats. And she wore it much better with a nice blouse and/or blazer not a jean jacket. Oops, wrong quote.^^ Meant to quote about the sweater Anna was wearing. If it's the one she wore at the girl's party at Jessa's, it was just horrid. It looked like her boobs were out of sync. IIRC, the color was bland as usual.
  8. Those craft project pictures of the kids behind the sofa drive me nuts. I know we've had many discussions about them but why couldn't Jessa have evened them out more & cut them into square shapes to get rid of the extra white spaces at the top? She (or anyone) could have taken one look and realized they don't look correct with all the empty white space at the top.
  9. That you can barely tell she is wearing because of the color.
  10. This comment happened almost 30 years & it still irritates me to no end. A few of us were speculating about the number of children we would end up with. The others had two at the time & I had just one (who ended up being our only.) My one friend said if she had the choice of having only one child or none, she wouldn't have any. She said it with the assumption that having just one child automatically turns them into a spoiled brat & her viewpoint was the correct one. That may be true in some cases but certainly not with my son. He ended up being our only child because of health problems on my side that worsened after he was born. I feel like I made a mountain out of a molehill at her comment but like I said after all these years it still irks me. No one knows the reasoning for the number of kids a couple has (or if they have any) except for the couple involved. Back on topic: Luckily neither of our families asked when or if children were coming along in our family. I can't imagine being the Duggs or Bates & being asked if you are pregnant as soon as you come home from your honeymoon.
  11. I love that line about the family will be a trivia question after the show is gone. How true & I think it has become that way even with the Counting On (or whatever they call it now) version still airing. On a different note, I wonder how Izzy is enjoying school. I'm sure he is fitting right in.
  12. Thanks for the update. At least Chelsey looked & seemed happy for her sister's big day. She usually looks sour & unhappy in the pictures with her in- laws, the Maxwells. (I can't blame her, I would too with that group.) I think a lot of people are happier being around their own family especially when they live far away from one another.
  13. I think I remember hearing Kendra explain they got help (chiropractor?) to correct Garrett's lazy neck (not sure what you call it) when he was an infant and it seems to have worked. At least someone noticed something was wrong (besides us) & they had it fixed. Hopefully it will be the same for Addison's eye.
  14. I will never forget these outfits. They were dressed in their matchy matchy brown polo shirts for their engagement pictures. IIRC, this was same time their hand sex was occurring in car on the way back to Arkansas from Florida.
  15. There is a road in our town named Evelyn so that is the first thing I think of when I hear the name. BTW, it's not in the best part of town - near a bowling alley, various run down businesses, fast food joints & a chain hotel that the cops frequent almost daily. I do like Evy & thought that might be her nickname when I found out her name was Evelyn. To each his own....
  16. Poor Sofia or whoever the yellow dress girl is. She's already wearing the white jacket so why does she also need a GRAY modesty shirt under everything? (At least have her wear white.) I guess its because the neckline dips down just a little. She definitely needed to be standing over the air conditioning with all those layers.
  17. Didn't they say it was called something like the Duggar Ugly Christmas Sweater & other attire contest? I thought Jim Bob explained they could wear other tacky outfits besides the Christmas sweaters if they wanted to. Maybe I'm dreaming up this part.
  18. Speaking of Lolli and Pops, do you think they will attend Grandparent's Day at Izzy's school? (#1)I'm hoping they aren't even asked and (#2) the good Lord will strike them down if they try to step foot in the building. I can picture JB trying to take over the conversation with his stupid wisecracks and jokes trying to prove to the others how wonderful parents and grandparents they are if they do make it in.
  19. Happy Birthday and welcome to the Duggar Forsyth Birthday Club. I share a birthday with Gideon, February 23. Just remember it could be worse -- my husband shares his with Josh. You ought to do a spread sheet on those of us who share a Duggar or Duggar adjacent birthday. I think the results would be interesting and a good read. I'm being too lazy to look but do any of the Dugg children share a birthday (besides the twins?) I know the Bates have at least one set they showed on a recent rerun. It was one of the older boys & younger girls. I think they have another group too.
  20. I can't stand the "making memories" reference no matter who says it. I think it came about with social media. Everything we do is a memory when we look back on things. But each incident doesn't need to be noted and recorded as "making memories" when it happens and for the most part, people don't care about your memories. I also can't stand the "season(s) of life" saying as well. Mainly for the same reasons.
  21. I'm not good with electronics. Is that round flat shaped thing a mirror? I wouldn't put it past her if it was.
  22. You forgot to add the visit from Evan's sister & nieces. And reading & absorbing the praises from all their followers. They really do live exciting busy lives. I finally figured out what they do the most & best -- they get on my nerves (& much more than the rest of the families!!)
  23. I think it may be my pain med kicking in. I read Jill's first sentence as "(Best Multi-Vitamin and VITA-BLO) on the market!" BTW, she really screwed up the spelling of "absorption" in the last sentence didn't she?
