  1. Yeah, we're 5 episodes in, and I don't care who gets sent home or who wins. Watching the show is pleasant, but I am not rooting for or against any of them especially hard. I think there have been three lipsyncs where I felt, "eh, send 'em both home". I don't know what it is either, the lack of mini challenges, which are also chances to get to know them, the cast this season, editing due to moving to VH1. At least season 7 was obviously bad for their casting choices and then things like Shakesqueer. I really wish they'd skipped the cheerleading challenge since two cast members were injured. The bar seemed set higher for the cast, and it isn't that I want a lot of fighting or feuding, but this season just isn't doing it for me. Oh, well, once it's over, some of them might emerge with shows like UHHHHN, etc. And I do enjoy Jaymes Mansfield's videos on the history of drag.
  2. Yeah, it's one thing that Dean didn't pay child support, but for their antics to actually take money away from his kid., via the IRS. Not a great look for the IRS either. I would believe that Dean and/or Tori might actually end up in jail for the non payment of taxes. They aren't just not pulling in income like they used to, they're publicly taking trips abroad with their large family, having $40,000 baby showers, etc. None of this is Candy's responsibility, but she has the funds to make all these problems go away without feeling it. She's paid off credit card debt, I think she should pay the taxes and child support owed to Jack's mom. She raised Tori to be the mess she is, and then set the precedent of throwing money at her problems. Clean this up, it's pulling in Jack who already suffers from having Dean as a dad.
  3. He might have had graduation gift money, if he's in school his mom might have put in funds for tuition, we don't know, but Jack thought he had funds in his account and I don't think he owes huge amounts of back taxes in the U.S. or other financial responsibilities of his own that he neglected. I wonder if he was notified or just tried to use his ATM card somewhere only to have it declined. I have to think even the IRS thinks that Candy will pony up the money Tori and Dean owe at some point if they're going after Jack's money. If Dean's ex managed to get the $100,000 Dean owes her in child support I wonder if the IRS would seize it? Maybe not if it's in a Canadian account. This really sucks for Jack, and I think Candy should fix this part of their mess.
  4. I would have been ok with a triple elimination this episode.
  5. I hate the Kardashians, but I did like Aja trying to explain the Black Chyna part to Valentina. I also liked V's succinct "escandalo" reply. Megan Trainor showed up, dressed as a unicorn (WHY?), and they sent Eureka home, with no notice to her as far as I can tell. They lipsync was pretty meh, but I think Farrah won, but not by much. The song was awful. Then the weirdness of Ru excusing himself before making a decision, then calling Eureka forward. I wondered if Eureka had been having sex with Willam's husband, for a second there. I agree they need to stop with the wrestling, cheer leading and other dangerous events.
  6. I wish Sam good luck with becoming and EMT and finding a supportive community and, in time, a real live girlfriend. I hope Kailani figures some stuff out with her next divorce, or her next, or her next...
  7. I agree, but you forgot "hoarder" and "narcissist". Have her 18 storage bins that she pays $200 a month each been seized, sold in the estate sales or lost due to her not paying for them? That was my main takeaway from the last show; if she'd get the right therapy she could save $4000 a month in storage bin fees. Or, if she's lost the bins, they aren't paying nearly $50,000 a year just to keep her crap that she can't deal with but also can't let go of. Yes, I ended a sentence with a preposition, but I pay my bills and have a little savings, so I feel ok about that.
  8. I wonder if there are nannies? If so, I feel for them raising the kids in that toxic home. Candy would have to be the one paying for the nannies, so I wonder if she'd be the one choosing them. If she could choose a bunch of psych majors, maybe with MBAs, to try and raise the kids the opposite of how she raised Tori maybe some of them would have a chance at normalcy and happiness.
  9. Hunter hunted, Eureka also had knee surgery in Sept. due to the cheerleading challenge. Charlie is hinting someone else gets hurt this season and people think it's Cynthia, but it could be Eureka. Or someone else. They need to dial back the dangerous challenges. I'm not kidding. Oh, at all - Coco Montrese, AS2.
  10. On his instragram (sorry I don't know how to link) Willam is dragging Charlie a bit for the slow lip sync, but he also is saying that on his season's wrestling challenge he hurt his wrist but was discouraged from getting treatment, and he kept going. Three months later an x-ray showed a badly healed broken wrist bone. His point is Charlie should have turned it out. My take away is that RPDR is really irresponsible about the health and safety of their contestants. I broke my wrist in December, and could not have skipped treating it, so worse than whatever Willam did. But part of what I've heard over and over is that I should now expect to have arthritis in that wrist when I'm older. Willam might also have arthritis in his RPDR damaged wrist later. If they'd treated it at the time it might have healed better. Who can say. I hope Eureka got appropriate attention for his knee and that going forward anyone gets the treatment they need. Or they stop injuring the queens. I suspect time is more the reason they didn't want to take Willam to get treated, they can all afford to take care of their injured contestants. I know Adore had 2 root canals while on the show, so there's that. Or, as she might say, "It's very that". And it was.
  11. Shea on the morning t.v. challenge,"They look like a college. Community college morning show on channel three that can't make it on the morning so they play it at three a.m." Not a quote, and also from Untucked, which is better than the show this year, but while the girls argue, Nina is lying on her back on the floor, massaging her fake breast. I'm sure she was just trying to breathe while cinched, but she went for zombie Naomi Campbell to begin with, and then to lie there like that. Someone at Reddit said that with Trinity, Valentina and Alexis standing over her in lingerie it looked like an episode of Real Housewives where they didn't know what to do with the body of a dead hooker.
  12. I fast forwarded through the commercials, but I think there was no Wendy Williams this episode? I hope VH1 learned that she is offensive to Drag Race viewers. So, what was Valentina's issue? Maybe we find out in Untucked. That whole exchange was not good for Eureka. Sometimes the mood doesn't need lightening.
  13. I watched Drag Becomes Him, the 2 hour movie last night about Jinckx Monsoon. I thought they were going to make a longer, multi episode documentary from this? My tv listing isn't showing this. I like the movie, I like Jinckx more after watching it; I had mildly positive feelings towards her before. Also, turns out she's a fellow Virgo. Also raised by an alcoholic single mother, also raising a younger sibling due to that. Hmm, I turned out a librarian cat lady though. I decided I really like Jinckx's speaking voice, after going back and forth during the film. There are a few nice glimpses of Dela in the film, too. Jinckx seems to be ok with his mom, and the whole family is pretty close. His dad was 17 when he was born and living in a half way house, his mom was 23. His dad is very supportive of his son, and being gay and doing drag. His dad used the phrase,"water off a duck's back" unironically in the film too. Ok, back to the library, off the public computer.
  14. I thought this thread might have popped up because she was pregnant again.
  15. I only read the recaps of this show, I've stopped watching it, so just to be clear, Yasmin did not get a tattoo of Louis's name, correct? That would be a new low on this show. That bit did remind me of some lyrics from an old Suede song She's Not Dead (the London Suede in the US, for legal reasons): "she'll come to her end locked in a car somewhere with exhaust in her hair What's she called? I dunno, she's fucking with a slip of a man while the engine ran (chorus, "she's not dead...") In the car he couldn't afford they found his made up name on her ankle chain" So, yeah, if you haven't met someone you're "dating" on the internet, get their "name" on an inexpensive piece of jewelry. Later on, you can throw the jewelry into a lake when you find out you've been catfished. Suede also had this lyric,"She walks in beauty like the night, discarding her clothes in the plastic flowers..." Is it just me, or is everyone else pretending to be several different people on the internet?
  16. I love Dita Ritz furiously lipsyncing to This Will Be in front of Natalie Cole. But I was sad The Princess went home, I liked her too. But, very good lipsync.
  17. Or is she emulating Jessica Simpson (is it chicken or is it fish?) and that ilk?
  18. I would describe how I feel about Kimora leaving, but I don't know what an adjective is. I kinda hope she was playing dumb, which is annoying, but maybe she really is that ignorant? Good luck to her in the future. I thought she'd go further, but she really was all talk. Except she doesn't have much of a vocabulary. (Bloomers, adjectives...)
  19. Alexis, to Cynthia Lee Fontaine in the white challenge (CLF has a dress with very large crystal stones on it), "I think you need some bigger stones on that dress!" CLF swaying suggestively,"You wanna swing on my chandelier?" Also, in S9 E2 Untucked, Charlie Hides to Eureka,"Just shut up!"
  20. I've always liked how much RuPaul borrows from ANTM and other shows, but with a wink, and her own style. I've been saying for years that I wanted Ru to recreate Tyra's "I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you..." speech, and I hoped Ru would call the queen she was yelling at Tiffany, whether or not that was the queen's name. Well, I got that a little bit when Ru kindly said to Jaymes that everyone is rooting for her. But I didn't really enjoy it. Jaymes leaving was right and inevitable (although I feel she was slightly better than Kimora in the LSFYL; but they were both terrible) but still terribly sad. I wonder how it was for the B52's to sit through their song with two terrible performances going on. Kinda awkward, but it is a hard song to dance to. I know Ru chose it because they put him in the video, but that would just be hard to sit through. The B52s all seem very kind, though. The queens this season all seem pretty polished, and it's a little bit of a shame that there aren't any raggedy filler queens anymore. We all knew they wouldn't win, but they could still benefit form the exposure on the show. More than being polished, it seems like the queens the last couple seasons have high emotional intelligence. They're supportive and empathetic, they can communicate well. It's nice not to just have shouting going on in the work room. I enjoy seeing the positive interaction much more than drama or conflict, especially producer created drama. I like that they seem to know regardless of what order they go home in, this is a shared experience and they're all bonded now. Now, as the episodes go on, and the tension builds on the show I may regret my words. Untucked is up on Youtube.
  21. I'e been enjoying Jaymes Mansfield's videos on drag history and really enjoying them. I was hoping she'd find her feet before getting eliminated. I hope she'll benefit from being on this season. I thought both she and Kimora were pretty bad in the lip sync, and I wondered if they'd both go home. Not liking Kimora's personality so far. Valentina out of drag reminds me of the singer for Tokyo Hotel.
  22. I'm glad to see the protest against Wendy Williams hosting the commentary on the show (which is just annoying in itself) is gaining traction. I suspect she'll be there tomorrow, but maybe if the protest continues she'll be removed. I hope so, anyway.
  23. Fun fact, the Spanish government allowed Charo to take 10 years off of her legal age. Oh, Spain... But yes, she'd be a fun guest judge.
  24. FYI, the front page new challenger is Tatiana singing Same Parts.
  25. Over at Reddit people are guessing that this new format is designed to introduce the show to new viewers at VH1 and beyond; probably Gaga alone will draw some new viewers. They're also wondering if Gaga didn't want to be part of an elimination episode. They do mostly seem nice, although it's very early days yet.
