  1. It was a two hour ep so I forgot some of this but yeah! Those gals calling Joe "arrogant" when it's pretty clear he's just "right" and/or "doing really well in the game" -- too bad, ladies :) And Andrew - that fucking hat! No!!! :(
  2. I'm on Joe's side here - one can only be so nice to people who want you out and make it obvious. Every week we see him trying to get something going with a group who might be reasonably trustworthy with anyone else, but since it's him, they next show them gleefully hoping he loses immunity so they can get him. They don't even try to hide it from him! Look at the smirks on the early losers faces each week as he seems to falter. He's a very good sport but at some point I think he gets to be "a touch salty" as well :) As a Joe fan who appreciates his love for the game, I have been rooting this season for him to get to the family visit with his dad, since I know that was his major goal his first time. So Go Joe! Good for you! I was also pleased for Spencer, winning that challenge - well done! I am curious to see who he has coming for his "loved one" challenge. I found it amusing that it was clear to us, the audience, the exact moment when Stephen's "JT" went from being Joe to Jeremy, whilst he couldn't see it; now it doesn't matter anymore anyway! Finally - well done, Stephen, on being a gracious loser :)
  3. Proving one and/or both of our hypotheses: 1. "Save Mapperton" is a BS storyline; 2. Julie is an idiot.
  4. Jason himself has said that he thinks the NYFD is an elite crew and he has worked hard and is so proud to be a part of THAT group. So moving to AnywhereUSA FD is not on his list. I could get Courtney's point if he hadn't done the whole Vegas Vow Renewal bit - to me, that seemed to be the "choosing me himself" aspect that she claims to want. I was most irked with her due to the fact that she knew the type of vacation he wanted, and they visit her friends who have a beautiful outdoor pool, on a lovely summer day, and his part of the vacay is to sit indoors with a guy he's never met, being grilled on his "intentions". Who wants to lay out poolside having a beer when you could be justifying your existence indoors to a stranger? Jamie - does she still have a job? Or does she just lay about talking to the dog all day. She couldn't have found a pet shelter to volunteer at if she was bored? Or join a church or a meet-up group or talk to the neighbors or folks in the local dog park? Next week she wants Doug to meet Myex - does that mean we get to meet him too? Will we find out his real name or will he be introduced by his alias, "Myex"? Inquiring minds want to know :)
  5. It annoyed me when Tal was saying, "I never realized how I take things like sitting in an airplane seat for granted." That is something we are supposed to take for granted! I think Whitney takes having doting parents who still love each other for granted, which normal people can't always do, but we don't hear anything about that!
  6. As an English teacher I would like to agree with you - but that damn hat! Why was that in his bag to go to Cambodia at all? Just pisses me off. (Irrationally, I know :)
  7. Kass definitely flipped the bird again - apparently it is going to be her thing. I guess "disrespectful hairy armpits" are hard to pull off when you are wearing shirts with sleeves! heehee The idol Jeremy found did seem to be lit up - my theory on that was that in this season, finding the clue is the thing, and taking the risk to get the idol is how you get it. No idols were placed until after they found the clue, then they had to take it in front of everyone during the challenge. So now - having found the clue, he had to figure it out and then escape from camp to find it, whereupon it was waiting for him like the others had been. Here's a pet peeve of mine: men wearing knit caps in tropical climates. Andrew S: that makes you a jerk. And a geezer trying to act like a 20-year-old. (I'd be nicer to him if he hadn't been such a cliquish asshole during Kelly Wig's Ponderosa vid, BTW) And Go Joe! When Abi was wavering, I was shouting, "Down, Bitch!" And she obliged. (But I'll give her this: she looks great! :)
  8. Ok - I hit "like" because I was grateful to LanceM for posting KW's video - but damn! I can see why she frustrated Probst because that was probably the most boring Ponderosa video ever. And I say this as one who doesn't need drama to find something interesting. But still. ETA: and yes, clearly Savage is stuck in middle school. Get over yourself and just have fun, dude!
  9. I don't even find him so "pretty" (and I don't care for man buns), although he is healthy, attractive and fit, which is a very good look :) IMO the Joe appeal is that he is what I think of as a quality human being. He has talents and interests in his real life, and he is able to make interesting conversation with people, presumably about those talents and interests. He is able to broaden those interests with enthusiasm, which results in him doing things like creating hammocks or spear fishing on his beach, even though he knows it's not doing himself any favors. (But as he said - "I just can't be here without doing ANYTHING!!!") In the many hours of downtime these folks have, I am sure he has interesting conversation to pass the time. I'm also sure that superficial idiots have no use for him. I'm not sure who those are, but I know they exist. Clearly he isn't great at gameplay, nor is he great at bringing the DRAMA that reality TV thrives upon. I totally get (as a viewer/armchair quarterback) why he must go NOW! I also get why he is loved by viewers. And I get why people on the island know he must go/like him and hate to blindside him. I heart him and hope he makes it as far as the family visits so that his dad can visit him on set. He has been very clear that that is his #1 goal and I am rooting him on for that :)
  10. My feeling with this Dr appt is just like I posted a few episodes ago - yes, she does these things for her show (trainer, nutritionist, breakfast, now OBGYN) - do they mean anything in the real world, or are they just storylines -- "Let's discuss my fertility and show me at a gyno appt!" Interesting that her "boss" at the baseball field has finally been bullied/shamed into "admitting" that Big Whit is a great employee =O! Finally - as a yoga teacher - plank is hard, and when people are in good form it is harder, and when they get a little tired, the first thing that happens is that their butt begins to rise, taking pressure off of the abs/core muscles. The better way to modify the pose is to drop to your knees and maintain the plank ("stiff as a board" pose, rather than turn yourself into a downward dog - nothing wrong with that pose but you are not working the same muscles. As the instructor, I would walk around the room giving "bum pats" while they held the pose, and they knew to either straighten out or drop to their knees and straighten out, depending on how they were feeling. So Whit's pose tells me that once again she's being given a break bc it's her show and she is only to be applauded. I wouldn't want her in my class and then have to watch her on TV talking about how I hurt her feelings or something! ETA: also: doing plank on your elbows rather than hands is a common modification for people with wrist issues (like carpal tunnel) and I think would be valid for one who is holding up that weight.
  11. I thought their exchange was just a "haha we did it this time!" kind of thing, because Kass was aligned with those ladies last week and so was on board with them flipping things tonight!
  12. Her face looks lovely in those pics! BUt she is definitely wearing makeup and hair product.
  13. I think they are all a little weird, but I blame it on the show. Although it makes sense to me that they are boyfriends! I actually felt bad for Todd the way he was set up, to hear about the invitation, fill with glee about it, and then be told (on camera!) "Yeah, I know you're my "dance partner" and all, but I'm taking my other friend to this dance party. You need to stay here for big girls' dance." When I originally thought she would be taking him, I thought it was a bitch move to tell both him and Tal about it on camera, when Tal wasn't invited! So even meaner to do it to her fellow dancer :(
  14. Yes I did! I have never been a Ciera fan and still am not, but I will defend her tonight. Her rantings at TC last week and this were because she was on the bottom, yes - so fight, girl. If the vote had gone to Stephen tonight like they originally thought, then she could have STFU for a week bc she was not in danger. So I don't see her as hypocritical really, just fighting to save herself and stay in the game, which I respect and enjoy, even though she bugs. I get the feeling that Joe, while super-competent, isn't really an "alpha-male" and I think he would rather work with the girls. He went along with the majority for safety's sake, but gave the girls info to keep the door open to working with them in the future. And Spencer is wise to lay low and go with the group when he is in a position to do so :) I thought the Kelley/Ciera/Abi glee was justified bc not only was the blindside awesome, and Wentworth pulling out the idol awesome, but for both Kelley AND Ciera, they had the double relief of knowing that their closest ally wasn't going! (Which would have happened if W. was voted out, or if the others had split the vote, causing Ciera to leave.) So I'm sure they were super happy on multiple levels! Abi, of course, somehow imagines that she matters in any of this, so she would be happy for that reason :) The only thing that would have made this episode more enjoyable for me would be if the participants were allowed to slap Kass in the face on their way to vote.
  15. So - the mascot she is replacing says, "Do you have any questions?" and her response is "I'm sweating already and my feet hurt!" People will be lining up to hire her after her 15 minutes is up! heehee
  16. To be fair - she wasn't mad at Doug for smoking, as much as for lying about it when she asked him :) Mr. P and I both come from WT backgrounds, and the eyelashes, tiny shorts and heels at a picnic are as much a part of it as smoking while pregnant. And I was glad Doug told her that she would have to find the therapist if she really wants to show she is interested in their marriage!
  17. She said it was to be fun since she had been through a stressful time. And I know if I had a house with an indoor pool, a girls' pool party in winter would be a lot of fun if done right. Which IMO does not require party planners, strange bearded men in shorts, or glam outfits with full hair and makeup. That bit takes away the fun and relaxation and turns it into a bit of a freak show. I have been "team Julie" for the current fight with Annabelle, but I don't believe a word of the "save Mapperton" storyline. And CF needs to spend some time brushing up on her Emily Post before lecturing anyone else on their bad manners!
  18. I see your point, but what I hate about those BvW's is that Every Single Episode revolves around that crap with Great Drama until we are left with singletons. IMO Jeff Probst started it! He wasn't just reacting to audience response. That's why I not only agree that getting together with other singles is great strategy, I actively root for them! And those are my least favorite seasons. I don't think that first part is true either. Although I do think the males often get more camera time. What I think happens a lot is female alliances being mentioned or proposed, then either agreed to or smiled and nodded at (so the proposer thinks they are on but is wrong), and then not carried forth. That's why we hear a lot about them but don't see a lot of them actually happen - or they do for an ep and are dropped.
  19. Interesting to hear these stories because I have recently been to the doctors for knee/joint pain, and not one has noted that if I drop some weight, they would be alleviated. And that is what I was expecting to hear, and surprised that I didn't. And my OT point is that maybe Whitney has too many docs not telling her what she needs to hear. Because I remember one of hers - I think one of the originals from S1 - who agreed with her that you can be "fat and healthy". And it's totally true that BMI/body-weight charts don't know everything - I am healthy and attractive at a higher weight than the charts would say, and based on Whitney's talk about her past I would guess that that is true for her too, even if she didn't realize it when she was a teen (as I didn't). But I think I can objectively state that once anyone hits 300 lbs, they have left healthy in the dust.
  20. My curiosity revolves around Jason and the family he supposedly is trying to contact. I totally believe that this is drama manufactured for the show, but if his dad and sibs do know about him they probably know he's on the show, and if they have any kind of human curiosity they would at least check it out. What do they think when watching this? Or have they been contacted by production, as someone else posted, and are just waiting for their appearance on camera? Weird.
  21. Am I the only one who thinks this looks like kind of fun? Better than Wife Swap!
  22. I like when she and Her King have dinner parties. Agree with the rest of your post about her :)
  23. Thanks for the info! But I thought she did it more than once. And Kass' report about anything is not one I would trust. I could research this myself, but I know there are peeps here who know these things more than I do - any info appreciated and thanks in advance :)
  24. "Signature roll" is basically a backwards somersault that ends in her kneeling /posing her arms. They showed her doing it as a middle-schooler, but at her current weight/size, she sits, rolls backwards and can't propel herself all the way over, so she flops on her side. (Think putting a 5-6 month-old baby in a sitting position, and watching him roll down after a minute or two.) The substitute pose suggested by the dance teacher/choreographer was an arabesque, which for real dancers means leaning forward while extending one leg up and back, but for Whitney means lifting one leg about 2 inches off the floor for about 2 seconds. The two tattoo choices were equally hideous. And count me as one who never before noticed Buddy's many tattoos! I'll admit I don't pay close attention when this show is on, so I didn't realize that her "invitation to the dance museum" was yet another vanity project where it was all about giving her an award for whatever, combined with her "performance", and then . . . nothing. This was actually the first time we have been treated to a dance performance in its entirety, and it lasted - 60 seconds? WTF? And if your legs and feet are aching from practicing/performing a one-minute routine? Honey, your life ain't fabulous and you need to get healthy. I say with love :)
  25. WRT the (mis)spelling of Kas - I believe I read on these very forums that people like to spell wrong or draw a pic or something so that they can recognize their vote when it is on TV. Unless someone did the kASS (haha -good one!) I don't get why anything else is offensive. Of course I have a name that is often misspelled and it doesn't bother me at all, so I find myself surprised when others care about that. WRT hating Kass because she is an outspoken and aggressive woman - I mostly hate her because of her self-appointed nickname and smug talking of herself in the third person. And I hate her face. But I had the same three hatreds for one "Johnny FairPlay", so I absolve myself of sexism in this case :) WRT Ciera's "voting out her mother" BS, that stems from the reason that the BvW seasons are my least favorite - what Jeff finds SO fascinating about them voting off family members, and beating that dead horse til they all cry, is probably the ONLY thing I find boring in Survivor. I beat my family members in games all the time (when they're not beating me!) - STFU with all that, Jeff Probst! It's the same reason I didn't like Jeremy his first time, and I gave both Jeremy AND Ciera a pass this season because I knew it was Probst's fault I disliked them. And thus far Jeremy has redeemed himself and she has not. WRT Joe at Tribal - shout out to all who saw him as Joseph in the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - Yes! My first thought too! Finally - I read through all of these pages and did not see any comment on this: Kass at some point was whining about being "betrayed" in her previous season. By whom, I would like to know? Wasn't her entire self-bestowed nickname and created persona based on her betraying others who thought they were aligned with her?
