S08.E06: Wham, Glam, Thank You Ma'am

Meh. I know there's a right glass, but I don't want to store them so I've got flutes and whatever red wine glasses were on sale at Macy's when I was 22. But I guess I reserve my right to be a hypocrite and scream like a banshee when you serve me in the wrong glass. My nephew, being a young lad of exceptional tastes, refuses to drink his bubbly holiday concoctions out of anything other than an acrylic skull goblet. -
I could see her doing a lot better on Lip Sync Battle than she did on Dancing with the Stars. It seems more suited to her type of performing.

Dorit's fashion choices definitely yielded a lot more hits than misses last year. I think that's why it is so noticeable this year, her batting average has slumped hardcore. -

The Marge was sued by Vineyard Vines and lost, then didn't pay full judgement amount, and then was sued by them again for the remainder of the judgement, expenses in collecting it, and statutory damages. She has also been sued by 2 vendors for not paying her bills. Godwin's Law doesn't actually condone the use of Hitler in an argument. It was actually born of disgust at how cavalier people are about throwing out Hitler comparisons in internet arguments. So Siggy was over the toply and very poorly kind of doing what Godwin set out to do. Quotes taken from this 10 year old piece by Godwin http://jewcy.com/jewish-arts-and-culture/i_seem_be_verb_18_years_godwins_law ETA: I would say that glibly throwing around antisemite is just as bad -

Even it was take home it'd be a low salary for that position if it was total compensation - likely under $150k. Rest of compensation had to have been in the form of bonuses, stock, etc. Which I guess works out when you have to list your monthly income on a BK worksheet. -

That's what I was thinking but thought maybe I had confused all the mentions of Tom's blue coupe with a champagne coupe. -

I saw that and wasn't scandalized by him having a job during bankruptcy, but was shocked that the VP of Planet Hollywood would make less than $100k per year. But maybe that was just cash compensation and the rest of his package was RSUs that were not vested or something because $7,800/mo seems pretty low. I mean $7,800 a month isn't exactly raking it in. I do agree though that it was shady to be spending $34k per month on a lavish lifestyle of leased palatial estates while in BK. -

Is there a reliable source on this? The only thing I've seen regarding actual illegal activities is a website that looked like it was made by a conspiracy theory wackjob. Normally I'm into that sort of thing -- I spent days reading about the Denver airport, but instead of being awesome it was a shitty Power Point presentation full of unsubstantiated rants. It is a fact that PK filed for bankruptcy and his company went under partially because he thought Lehman Brothers wouldn't fail, but I think a lot of people were in the same boat and it isn't illegal. It seems like on these boards his main sins are being overweight, not conventionally attractive, and talking some shit about Erika. If that's all it takes to be heinous and a terrible person who is irredeemably ugly inside and out then I think a lot of people would qualify. -
But the recipes they use are passed down from her great grandma and the whole deal is they use the old school recipe with ingredients shipped in from Italy. It's what makes their pizza what it is and they are fairly well known in LA. If I was her I'd be upset about the prospect of my family recipes and family name being sold off too and wouldn't want to open a joint that would be a cheap imitation.

In my experience, when you frequently go days without eating or only eating very little you don't have to be as gentle "breaking the fast" as when you just do a fast or a cleanse occasionally. And I feel like Scheena probably isn't a stranger to not eating or severely restricted eating.

I think Thomas is a pretty successful real estate developer. I doubt he'd be as successful without his last name and family connections, but he does actually work.

What has he actually done on the show that is so horrible? I can't remember seeing him do anything that bad aside from "getting into women's business" when sticking up for Dorit and maybe talking a little shit, but not shit worse than we've seen most of the ladies talk. Supposedly he leered at Erika's crotch, but I feel like that's more hyperbole as I don't recall actually being shown that on the show. -
He's already the white Kanye.

Last night I was being extra basic and buying cupcakes and the I thought the person in line behind me was doing the whole pajamas trend, but then I noticed it was a onesie so then I couldn't decide if she was trying to be trendy or just really wearing pajamas. Back when I was in junior high we were reading some book for English class and the protagonist describes his love interest as having perfect breast shaped like champagne glasses and I didn't know about coupes so I was so confused because I thought he meant flutes. I remained perplexed for years and then discovered coupes and was like "Oooh! The boobs!" I wish I could remember what book it was. I had to have an executive coach (kinda lame but my company paid for it) teach me how to sugar coat things to be polite because I'm not a fake liar and don't mind being an asshole, but people want you to lie to make them feel better. She tried to convince me that it isn't actually lying, but I decided to just give in and lie to be polite and broke the seal by lying and saying I agreed with her that it wasn't lying. It doesn't take that long to screen for those things. Parvo is like 15 minutes and worms take about a day. My little one got really, really sick when she was a puppy - blood coming out both ends sick. She was just a limp little sprawled out pathetic thing that couldn't even move. I think she was only ~10lbs at the time and was so dehydrated that she lost over a pound, which is a lot at that weight. When we got to the vet they quarantined us because they thought it might be Parvo and it was the longest 15 minutes of my life, but only 15 minutes. Meh. Just like it is common when someone is an asshole to call them bipolar or self-centered people are all narcissistic and difficult people all have borderline personalities. It's just the way it is. My sister has the same narrative of never having a birthday party and it drives me nuts because I have been to all of them and they happen yearly. Do you think PK's extra special birthday celebration will also be for his twin since it's obviously his birthday too and 50 is such an important one that you can't not celebrate it? Or maybe PK has never had a birthday party planned for him before because they were all for his twin and this is his chance to strike back against the oppression of twindom. So what was up with Rinna's "hilarious" story of telling a little girl she'd grow a penis if she spit? I couldn't understand how it related to the conversation they were having or how it was so fucking funny. It's still a champagne glass even if it is sparkling wine in it. -
I have no idea, but have come up with a lot of scenarios similar to what you posted. My favorite is that the Toms and Jax were out shopping together and Schwartz and Jax bought them at the urging of FI Tom.

I have now spent too much time caring about their doors and it is all the fault of those damn frames. The peepholes on both couples' doors are off center. I have no idea why. Tom and Katie's frame is hung centered on the door so the peephole is outside it. Jax and Brit's frame is hung centered around the peephole so that the frame is off center on the door. Both are kind of lame solutions when the obvious choice is to just not have the frames at all.

Scheana likes going places on private planes. I loved that Arianna is making fun of the other girls saying "What else do they have to talk about? Statement necklaces?" at the botox clinic and then the next time we see her she's talking to Brit about a necklace. Just so I have this straight -- James lives in some guy's living room and his habitat consists of a mattress on the floor and a dresser all shoved in the corner behind a screen. And Raquel is moving in with him and acted excited about it? Yikes. The pasta fight was pretty good, but it doesn't hold a candle to any fight taking place on Stassi's birthday, especially the fight with Tequila Katie in Mexico, which for me is slightly better than the chunky sweater fight in Vegas. I'm on James' side on the fight, god help me. He overreacted, but Lala and Logan were being bitches about his dumb gf. I only paid half attention after that because I got distracted eating ice cream and playing with my dogs.

Revenge Lizzie is the best Lizzie -- even better than Zombie Lizzie. I mean sure she just dumped her kid off and doesn't care if it ends up with 2 dead parents, but I'll overlook that. She's also still dumb -- leaving a bloody rag in the garbage disposal, just stealing the rag instead of replacing it with one with animal blood or something, and being practically naked while dealing with flesh eating chemicals. But at least she's doing something that's not throwing tantrums at Red, screwing things up, or waiting to be saved. Hopefully she'll get better at crime as she goes along, although she should already be pretty good given her previous vocation and who she associates with.

I think a lot of it is probably how Erika defers to Mr. Girardi. She doesn't potray herself as an equal in the relationship. Whereas if Lisa and Ken are not equals it skews towards her having him wrapped around her finger. Also Erika's chief worry seemed to be about keeping her lifestyle after Tom croaks where as when Ken had his hip surgery Lisa was more concerned about being without him, not his wallet. Or, she showed up on time at the restaurant and was punctual. I don't know how her leaving her kids with the nanny to meet Dorit was filmed if production wasn't at her house prior to going to Plan Check. It didn't look like home video. I suppose they could have done a pick up, but if so, they did a way better job with continuity then they normally do with pick ups. The phone call was just before 4:50 and the driver's estimate was "about 15 to 20 minutes in traffic." Since he deals with with LA traffic on a daily basis as his profession, he probably is familiar with LA traffic and was fairly accurate and they would have been there prior to 5:15 (I'm making the assumption that production sent cars since it was a drinking event and she wasn't just taking an Uber). Dorit still wasted everyone's time and was still inexcusably late. -

The Arroyo Seco Parkway portion of the 110 is the oldest freeway in the Western US, but it's not that bad. The shitty part is getting on and off it up there because it doesn't really have on ramps so you are joining freeway traffic from a dead stop. If you are already on because you're coming from the Four Level (i.e. in this instance you started on the 101 in Hollywood) you don't have to worry about that. It's a little curvy, but it isn't a big deal if you are used to it. Worse to me is the 405 through the Sepulveda pass when it is super foggy. I'm meeting someone at The Grove later tonight well after rush hour. I live 2.5 miles away and will be taking surface streets (mainly a secondary thoroughfare). I'm giving myself 30 minutes and I'll probably end up being a couple minutes late if parking is a clusterfuck. Since it is January, I'm hoping it won't be. Anyway, did Dorit say she was just leaving her house when she called? It sounded like she was already on her way. -
Wasn't Richardson the manager at Pump though, not SUR?

It's not like Pasadena is Siberia -- especially after evening traffic lets up, which is when I'd assume you'd be driving home after a really long day.
