  1. Listening to the pod today it hit me that Cliff sounds like Mark Evan Jackson of TV's Brooklyn 99/The Good Place.
  2. Brandon is such a dick (DICK!) these days that I seriously expected his first words to Kelly, when her phone call roused him from his shooting nightmare, to be "Hey, I was just thinking about you."
  3. The timing of the Night Man ((Nightman), (NightMan)) theme drop was [chef fingertips kiss] and made me actually LOL.
  4. Yes I understand the tropes of the show, and I realize that the whole point of the how is that he is a vigilante. I know that a show with him in jail is unworkable. What I am pointing out is that Oliver is acting like this whole prosecution is a bullshit frame job, and that he is being unfairly being persecuted for his actions. Who is he to act like this whole prosecution is ridiculous when he DID ALL THE THINGS? Is DA Samanad Watson wrong? Is she fabricating evidence? Nope. Oliver's keeps reacting to this like he is an innocent being railroaded, and he is not.
  5. He says, "Trying to put me in jail and keep me from MySon." No real worry about the team. It was all, Who betrayed me? But my overall point was that he is really angry/upset about being charged with the things he actually did.
  6. Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow and vigilante who in the past has killed, getting all morally outraged about being charged with being the Green Arrow, a vigilante who has killed, is not a great look/storyline Team Arrow. "How dare they take me to court and charge me with crimes I have committed?!?"
  7. The ladyfingers joke was a good bit. Full props. I too loved Bent and wished NBC had been smarter about it.
  8. The best scene in this episode is a Babe Ruth-clad Muntz at the party doing a drive by and announcing that he promised a sick boy in the hospital that he would drink a fifth of scotch for him.
  9. Who is the woman in that scene in the Peach Pit with the parents/grandmother?
  10. It's interesting, because when the the show started, part of the novelty was the living fast, growing up too soon aspect of teens dealing with life as adults was a big part of the identity of the show. Now that they ARE adults, it's a total snoozefest to listen to them grappling with their problems. Writer of night time soap aimed at teens and young adults: "What if--stick with me here--we had Kelly grapple with ...infertility!"
  11. Nice to know in the reboot Dylan's sperm was mad, bad, and dangerous enough to blast through Kelly's womb barricades to get her with child. Ha! Ha! Brandon!
  12. Jim had NO OTHER podcast he could recommend? None? Not a one that came to mind?
  13. Man, Claire was right there are ready with her "She's a narcissistic snob" crack. That line was a pull-over and make her get out of the car offence.
  14. Re: the discussion of natural productions values. Are you saying The Littlest Hobo was the creator of DOGme95? "And that little photographer from Canada? You know him today as David T. Cole."
  15. Why does David have to apologize for a single bed? What does either of them think will happen if they share a bed? Also, as a lifelong Catholic (K-college) I know that Donna would be a QUEEN at hand and mouth stuff. As David is only looking for release (he very rarely plays the "it will bring us closer together" or "let us express our love physically" cards) I'd think Donna would easily be able to keep him calmed down with hand and mouth stuff.
  16. Whenever Duncan furrows his brow he looks like a vamp from Buffy. Heh. Stake.
  17. I am enjoying and appreciating the lighter tone this year, and adding an unsaintly character like Ralph to the mix has helped. I like that the friction between him and Barry is legitimately Barry's fault. Tom Cavanaugh must love getting up and going to work every day. I am still going to point out that I think that Devoe is actually possessed by the spirit of Metron in some way. Not only is his bad guy wheelchair very much like Metrons, but his suit, and the iconography of his tech interfaces are all very Kirby-esque.
  18. Sarah: "Cuck airlines" Podcast: [Smash into ad for Lufthansa] Me: [Chef kisses of fingertips] "Perfect!"
  19. To date we have not seen him do anything bad, he has just watched and cataloged the metas created by Barry's return portal. Perhaps you could say he did a bad thing by creating the Samuroid, but its purpose was to spur Barry's return, which is not a bad thing.
  20. Wow-a week or two back home really recharged Dave's accent. Welcome back! Edited to add: The canon entry for Better Things has given me tremendous anxiety for my daughter who just turned 8 yesterday.
  21. I wonder if "The Thinker" is a Big Bad misdirect? I mean, as seen on screen, he looks more like
  22. I've not listened yet so I don't know if this was mentioned, but holy shit that is some excellent family resemblance casting w/r/t Joey and his family.
  23. With the caveat that all I know about the show is from listening to the podcast, I surmise that Veronica's blindspot re: Liane has two components. First, she was not parentalized by Liane leaving, but by Liane's alcoholism. And like many kids of alcoholics, likely yearns for a time, or a future, where the parent is better, and she can stop being the parent and be a kid again. Secondly, from what I gather, Liane disappeared around the time of Lily's death and its investigation. Veronica is trying to do right by Lily by solving her murder but that will never re-set things or bring Lily back. On the other hand, getting Liane clean and bringing her home can re-set and restore the Mars home (so Veronica thinks) to something complete and whole.
  24. What? Someone broke into the the secret Arrowlair/bunker? What a gamechanger--that certainly ups the levels of BS' intelligence and villainy. How will Team Arrow every be able to take down someone of that skill level?
