  1. Isn't that the name of that ultra annoying woman that is supposed to be funny?
  2. I really enjoyed this season, especially after that uneven and quite bad season 2. However, I found this episode the worst of the season's lot. Not that I disliked it, but It was a bit of a mess. I am still not really invested in most of the secondary characters. Even if I tried I can not care about Darcy and I cannot stand of Judy. I also find the Sheriff and the deputy's stories too repetitive and boring. Mayor and wife have been improved, but having the writers trying to add some "real drama" feels like from a different show. So Alan will have the chance to play another version of Harry, the Mantis one. I am not sure I like the Mantis alien, way too horrific for the show.. Well, we shall see!
  3. I found GOT horrible.. it was definitely not my cup of tea, but still I think it was awful, even if it had a great production and cast and music. Talking about "/r/im13andthisisdeep", my nephew, 13yo at the time, was super excited when Denyrys took a ride on the back of a dragon for the first time. At the same episode a child was burned alive on the stake. When I asked him how he felt about it, he replied "who cares? Danny flew on a dragon". Next year the boy was accused of bullying another student at school with 2 other schoolmates. This is the effect these series can have when they rely so much on the "shock factor" and violence, like the brutal destruction of a ship full of kids that happens cause well...it's cool to show these slicing humans effects.
  4. I am not sure if we are having mediocre to bad writers or they write in such low level to please their target audience of mediocre iq. But this is how it is now, juvenile, shallow and style over substance.
  5. The true MVP of the episode was the repair man/photographer. He reminded me of that uncle from Derry Girls. Both these two men can bore you to death! I really enjoyed this one. 2/2 this season!
  6. Last season was a real hit and miss for me, especially on how much they focused on the uninteresting secondary characters. So, I was quite reluctant to start watching the new season. Well, I am glad I did, the first episode was ok and quite promising. Even the mayor's family did not annoy me!
  7. Because she is completely nuts/sociopath/serial killer? Probably with a traumatic past. After all, in our era (TV and books) it seems a traumatic past is the easy explanation for every character, good or villain.
  8. Yes indeed too bad, but I think at one point the stars of the show became bigger than the show itself. It was the Stabler & Benson and now it is the Benson show. Like Organized Crime is basically the Stabler show. I stopped watching it cause it was so stupid. One week Stabler is on national TV for a police scandal and the other he is working undercover. It does not make sense except for giving Meloni the chance as undercover to act different kind of personas.
  9. One of the things that really annoyed me was the cynical approach of "let's (brutally) kill innocent people and children for the greater good". I don't know if they followed the book in this one or they just wanted an impressive horrific mass killing sequence, I wouldn't surprised if it was the latter. They get into so much trouble for nano technology attack to slice everyone in pieces instead of maybe use other means, like gas and put everyone in the ship to sleep? In any case, this approach is horrible and quite used on TV and makes me wondering how much it has affected people tolerating same situations happening in real life. We seem to be ok/get used to it/shrug with massive loss of innocent lives.
  10. After season 6 or so, the show has suffered some really bad seasons. It has been a hit and miss. When Stabler was still in, we had a show that ended up revolving around the 2 stars but not in a good way, all stories were suffering just to "accommodate" them. I didn't really have a problem with "Saint Olivia", but now she has become insufferable. The writing is really bad and the acting as well. And I do not get it, I know Mariska can act well. Maybe they have market research we do not know about and follow what "the audience wants", dunno, it is just bad.
  11. The thing that really annoys me with SVU is that while we really need some decent (police) heroes that are not the usual cynical antiheroes of the "peak tv" era, we end up getting the Saint Olivia caricature. Mariska's narcissism has destroyed a decent tv hero. No, I did not like the episode, it was boring, "bad cop" Bruno sucks (reminds me of hysterical Stabler) and well the show has reached the point where nothing really matters except what Olivia will do and say. Olivia can cure an agoraphobic, Olivia can console a victim...., Olivia can save kidnapped girls, Olivia can save NYPD and make NY sleep better, Olivia this, Olivia that.. sigh.. and it is contagious, even Fin now can help a homeless person sleep well for a night.
  12. very very very very young adults! 😄 Reddit... the place where people desperately search for shows to worship!
  13. why not? not every book is good, not even best sellers! Ok, after episode 5 I stopped watching. I saw that coming when around episode 3 I started Fast Forwarding through. I read the rest of the episodes summaries in Wiki and I was not impressed, so I am ok with my decision. I mean, I do have Netflix and I still do not care to continue watching the damn thing. Apparently I am not the target audience for this series, but then who is? I guess 10-20 years old, because it all seems so juvenile (oh look, oppression can create delusional mad scientists/cult leaders) and just made to impress (the usual style over substance). I think the true destroyer of worlds is Netflix's mediocrity in such vast numbers.
  14. I found the first episode a bit frustrating and most of the characters annoying. Thinking about it, the less annoying character was the lady that killed herself at the beginning and that only because of her very limited screen time. They are trying way too hard to shove everything down our throats and make it feel significant and mysterious, like the investigator who talks too much without really saying anything. Basically that was the whole first episode, too much trouble for nothing. Let's see how this will go.
  15. The case was interesting, but the writing is not good. So much stupidity like, among other things already mentioned here, a cop admitting his role in the place he is supposed to do undercover work. He should either meet the DA outside the Gym or talk to his superiors to contact the DA. I expect from L&O to be more realistic than the usual crime/court drama series and not treating us a idiots who only care about the "message of the episode".
  16. I ROFTLed when Olivia went under the car to examine it! That was hilarious. I also get this feeling that they treat this season like if it's Mariska's last one. Or maybe these awful writers try to give us false hopes, dunno... I would have no problem with Olivia stepping aside just staying a captain only doing captain things without going out investigating, having someone else taking the lead (Rollins would be a fine replacement with Bruno on her side and rookie Maria joining them) and finally get back to have some DA and Court scenes. But if they do not have plans like the one I just dreamed about, this show has become ridiculously awful and Mariska cannot support it cause she cannot act well anymore, probably because she has been consumed by the narcissistic monster living inside her. The only realistic thing about this season is Olivia doing therapy. I am not even sure how wise is to have someone for 30 years in SVU without being seriously affected. Are there any Police rules about this? To protect their officers from going nuts?
  17. This post contains SPOILERS. I am not gonna use the spoiler thingy cause this is the last episode of a whodunnit mystery series so it is all about solving the mystery. Plus we got whodunnit in the previous episode. This was stupid. And not because I rooted for Rufus to be Victor Sams, but because it was stupid that nobody recognized Kira. And it was also stupid that Kira decided what to do by screwing her kid in the worst way. She thought Imogene would "move on"? How a kid ever gets over witnessing the brutal murder of her own mother? Kira it is just a psychopath that justifies her issues by blaming the 1%. I think that it should have been 2 episodes shorter and that they overdid it with Imogene's mind palace/whatever this was. Overall, even if the final revelation was a letdown, I did enjoy the series. Especially aesthetically. I loved the vintage touches, the atmosphere and their clothes! Everything was quite entertaining. It was really sad to see the ship go down, I loved that ship!! I would watch a second season, I am not sure though that I would enjoy a whole season just being about a cat and mouse game between Imogene & Co and Kira's gang. Or maybe Kira is dead and the chopped body they found at the very end of the episode belongs to her.
  18. I have to say I was a bit cautious with this one cause Elsbeth's character can be a bit too much, but I really enjoyed the first episode. And I wouldn't mind guest appearances from the Good Wife/Fight universe. I mean, there is a certain lawyer lady that now works in NY, right?
  19. I read on Reddit that they seem to be doing a lot of fan service in their scripts. I guess their fan base is under 15 years old or something? The thing is, I signed in for a different show, the first season I could not wait to see next episode, it was quite a good-feeling and lighthearted series. They have turned it to a bad copy of Castle, with unnecessary soapish drama full with stupid writing and cliches, that they are not even executed well. I think it is morphing into Law and Order SVU with Fillion being the new Mariska and his character having become "Saint Nolan". Which I could still tolerate if the writing was good.
  20. Well.. I have to say I did expect some of their nemesis to invade the wedding venue, kidnap someone or take hostages etc etc and I was really surprised this did not happened. Of course, near the end we had the stupidest of "action" plots: the almost drunk off duty police officers going to Celina's rescue (who she also did the less logical police action to leave a wedding and go to save an informer WITHOUT backup, but I guess some spirit/juju/magic told her to do so..) But my main question, in this life and the next... is WHO ON EARTH FINDS RANDY FUNNY? And why you leave a certified idiot like him alone at your place on your wedding day? Seriously it would be safer to invite Eli**h
  21. "the most dangerous wedding". hmmm... dangerous to our brain cells?
  22. That was so packed, which makes sense considering the previous episode. I like the story so far. So.. could Imogene be a true Collier? Maybe the blonde hair is a clue? Why I have this feeling, since episode 2, that Victor Sams is
  23. Visually stunning, but so so so so so long without a reason. Style over substance, that plague!!
  24. Soon she won't be Saint Olivia anymore... she will be upgraded to Goddess Olivia
  25. I watched the first 5 mins and then I Fast Forwarded near the end where they were giving a press conference with the underage victim present !!!!!!! This show has returned back to really-stupid level. For a few seasons it was in "almost silly" mode. Oh, and someone should tell Mariska that she is not doing any favors to her legacy and soon SVU will be titled as SNU (N for narcissists, in case you dint'd get it). I mean, Mariska, you make a character strong with good writing not just by patting yourself in the back while you admire yourself in front of a mirror.
