  1. I mean her choices were never really in that league. DCC is a niche. Before the show - the pool had to consist mostly of "local" girls who maybe had a dream to be a DCC. Who uproots themselves for this? World class dancers go to Broadway, Dance companies, etc. Now with the show - it may have broadened the pool a bit much - but if you think about it, other than Melissa - has anyone found fame from this? I don't care if Kelli is laughing - MTT is a show that I hate watch. I laugh at when Kelli says such crap like "world' class or when she even exaggerates the number of women auditioning, etc. I think liking/hating VK is a personal preference. I am a new watcher and even I caught all of the discrepancies. I wondered why she nitpicked certain girls to death - yet others were given passes. They are mostly blenders. The ones that catch my eye are never really the ones who are highlighted - Caroline for example. I don't care if Kelli and the St. Paul Pork Products lady pink swore to put Seabiscuit on the team.. A lot of mediocre girls have. What I take offense to - is the constant force feeding. I don't eat horse meat.
  2. Sorry for the duplicate post - I posted this before. Anyway - VK/Tina first appeared together, I actually went back and watched the movie to make sure Tina isn't the old beauty queen hawking pork products. The resemblance. TBH, the only dance VK has down pat is the #neighneigh
  3. That is not true - how do you explain VK? There is a difference between taking dance lessons and being a trained dancer. Taking dance lessons is being in a studio, learning choreo, maybe compete your combination or do a recital. Being a "trained dancer" is ballet day one. Learning the basics, strengthening your core. Ballet dancers don't compete - well maybe YAGP, learn variations. lol a trained dancer would never fall out of a simple turn.
  4. So now even on Chopped - they let Bobby Flay win for a dish he didn't know how to cook. To chop Chef Seis for his rice (because it had no flavor?) - when his steak (a basket item) was better than Bobby's was bullshit. Bimbimbap - the "toppings" are the main components of the dish served over rice. SMH
  5. Laney is right off a BART station so I think they got a lot of older students who live in the East Bay that work in the City. I took a summer class at DVC and was surprised to see a lot of my classmates were Carondelet and De La Salle students (30 years ago). My daughter took a class at DVC in high school and I had to sign her concurrent enrollment papers - now DVC is full of international students. They all drive sports cars and wear Gucci and Balenciaga to class! Seeing that at least the year this was filmed that CSM was the number one team was surprising as well - since that is kind of considered the catch all of the Canada College District.
  6. I can't remember why I stopped watching this show. As an Asian American, I was rooting for it. The last episode I remember watching as it aired was the one with Jessica's dad's funeral? I re-watched the Pilot because I heard Eddie Huang on a podcast say that was the only episode he actually liked. All of the episodes are on HULU and I have been at home like many others - I started re-watching. I don't remember any of these shows. Side note - I loved Crazy Rich Asians. When all of the backlash against Constance Wu started, I began to see her in a different light. Re-watching makes me see how unlikable the role of Jessica is. After watching "Always be my Maybe" - I was hoping for some rework of the show with Ali Wong replacing Constance.
  7. This. Sad though - that her "fans" either don't know or choose to not admit this. I won't fight them either.
  8. No snark - just curious. Alex is 23 - why does she look so old? Crows feet and weathered skin? Is it because she spent her formative years as a ranch hand?
  9. I felt that part of the story was bs. To be eligible for cal vet "free" tuition - the vet in question has to be 100% disabled. The dad looked like he was employed (wearing company shirt). The other option is to be the dependent of a medal holder - maybe he falls under that category. Regardless, if he was eligible, it would have covered his stay at Laney too. I think he just said that to try and "control" Dior.
  10. UGH don't give them ideas . They are already trying to figure out how to feature VK.
  11. I am sure it was duly noted if those that were cut didn't show up. You would be deemed as having "sour grapes" and would have that held against you. VK and TK of course get a pass - because for them it's OK to be "disappointed." Did Kristen get a boob job? Her kidneys look huge to me in that photo.
  12. I am glad the other students and the teacher recognized that the players are "pampered pussies." No other students receive as much help as the student athletes do. How someone manages to plagiarize a paper and not receive any repercussions is beyond me. (HE LITERALLY JUST PUT HIS NAME ON SOMEONE ELSE'S PAPER) Stanford received criticism for cutting a lot of their sports. Maybe this whole new world "normal" will be a start to ending all of it. Watching this show made me think - what is the use of educating these men who obviously could not be bothered. So Murray State is going to pay to educate Nu'u and support his family - for what? What will be become of Nu'u after he receives a degree from Murray State? Will he really be more prepared to do something than check receipts at WalMart? He came across as very lazy and stupid. I laughed out loud when he talked about putting his nuts on the opposing team's faces. He wanted to humiliate them in front of their "children." I am sure he's not the first - but do other junior college football players have children? He was clearly my least favorite story. What separates Laney from the other seasons is not only that they do not pay for housing, etc. At the very least the players are trying to get somewhere. The other schools were made up athletes, that already squandered what was given to them. I admire Coach Beam - having been born and raised and in the Bay Area - I had never heard of him. I didn't even know Laney had won any kind of championship. Looking at his biographical information - I realize, this has no tie to the point of this show, but I wish they had mentioned his daughters. They are very accomplished - the older one has athletic league ties and the younger one is a Stanford grad and has a masters and PhD from Northwestern. That is something to highlight and admire.
  13. This. This. This. lol The dance move is a tilt. It shows extension and strength. With Victoria it seemed like she had to exert - but normally a leg lift should be effortless - and you should be able to hold in place too. I will defend VK for this one. The guy (Mark Meismer) is the choreographer of the piece. Looks like he taught the combo to Brooke and Autumn and they presented it for others to learn online. So in VK's defense - learning online isn't like being in class. But - Kaylee also learned online so .. you be the judge. Mark Meismer is the dancer VK pays to pays to choreograph her solos. I've seen a lot of young girls "sexualize" dancing. I didn't get that from her version. If you watch and listen to the lyrics and music cues - Kaylee hits. There is like a shoulder shimmy and she adds a pop that goes with the lyrics in the song. Technique can be taught - but style and musicality cannot.
  14. Right?! Even her placement is all over the place. I've always thought she was was a hack - here's the proof.
  15. Is that the macarena? That part was at least .. accurate.
  16. When you watch MTT, you would think Dayton isn't a very good dancers. She got the lecture, she got nit picked. Yet if look at her IG - Dayton is a very accomplished dancer. She can turn cleanly - fouettes - en pointe! Now, do I think she was robbed? Not really - because I don't think her heart was really in it. Do you I think she was treated unfairly? Definitely. Gabby was always one of my favorites - she didn't look like the rest of them and she was talented. From the beginning - Kelli picked on her. According to Kelli - her dancing didn't match her resume. She got picked on for her "feet." Yet when someone else falls out of turns - its a little giggle. She didn't even make TC for weight reasons. Ok.... how many visits did VK (and others) get for weight. I am not nit picking. I know what I see with my own eyes. I can't say enough - if you're going to tell me "world class.," I expect it. VK is not the only one who has made the team with less substandard abilities. I don't even care if Tina made Kelli pinky swear to put her on the team. Whatever - stick her in the back and call it a day. Don't force feed her to the viewers. Now if she has fans - then well lol whatever. Maybe they can relate to her.
  17. This was the clip I was referring to. Thighs/bottom look thick. She never looks "ethereal" when she leaps. I don't know if it's the extra weight or she's just clunky. If Kelli wants to say she's world class and force feed us - I expect a little more.
  18. Someone posted a recent video. Looks like she fell off the wagon and is on the milkshakes again.
  19. I can see that. The only parent allowed to do that is TK. lol TPTB don't want to see, hear from parents - that will ruin the story line THEY want to present.
  20. hmm - his choreography wouldn't translate to any kind of field routine. I feel like most DCC level dancers wouldn't do well with his style I mean they call what Maddie does "hip hop"
  21. Where are her parents posting?
