Sorry, but Bill's dad was really getting on my nerves. He was trying way too hard to be the 'fun Grandpa', taking over the rick shaw, the ordeal he made over eating the chicken feet & that childish way he was acting in the restaurant. I kind of felt sorry for Bill's mom, she seems very uncomfortable. Are Will & Zoey the only grandchildren to these 3 couples? Have to agree with Bill, if boiling dinner first to remove scum is required, don't think it's for me. Living in the Phoenix area, there are a lot of grocery stores that sell Mexican cuisine, chicken toes & beaks are among them. I close my eyes.

Iwasish! Same thing, we were never allowed to talk about our childhood, our mom and especially not his second wife! Had a similar wedding situation, her daughter had gotten married (I was the only of the 4 of us 'non-kids' to go), I was seated by myself at a table in the back. During the reception, I walked over to see if my dad wanted to dance, she intercepted me & informed me that this is her daughters wedding & I am to stay in the background. I went to my room. I live in Phoenix, this was in Chicago. I flew back home early.

Watching this episode again, had only seen parts of it before. Let me start with...I am horrible with names Col-T & Larissa: It seems as if she pronounces the full constants-i.e., Col-T, big-g I don't know if that's a Portuguese thing. Col-T reminds me of this guy from My 600 Pound Life, he lived with his mother, too. Eric and the 'Rich Bitch' There is nothing about that woman or any member of her family that scream 'We're Rich!' to me except her mouth. None of them dressed like they were wealthy, she wore a house coat like my grandma use to wear when she was in her 70's! Does she ever acknowledge her son? Have we ever heard the little boy talk? Speaking as someone who's dad married for the 3rd time when I was 30 to a woman who decided she would pretend dad had no life before she came into it, that whole apartment scene angered me. I then remembered that this person wants him to stop paying child support for his minor daughter but expects him to support HER son? I found out that my dad's wife was telling people that there was no relationship or communication between us & our dad until we were adults. Another friend of hers told me that his wife told her dad never had kids of his own & was thrilled to be 'Dad' to her adult kids! We were always a part of his life. I see this woman doing the same thing to Eric's kids.

This was not a quote for this show, sorry, could not get rid of it. We are remodeling a house to sell that was left to me to. Mr Tostandon wants to paint the walls gray, someone told him that's the rage now. I refuse to, I don't like it. Remember, there are 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. Sorry, couldn't resist 😋 Jen's bathtub made me claustrophobic

7 Little Johnstons - General Discussion

I forgot about that, yes! That was the only memory she could come up with? She didn't state how old he was, regardless, I would have cut that from, the show. -
I loved the turtle sink stopper in the kids bathroom.. Annoyed me also when Zoey slammed the door on the grandpa. It's like they have no respect for adults. Maybe it's from being treated as equals to the adults. The kids rooms are much smaller. When they were showing the rooms to the grandparents and they said how nice the playroom was, one of the kids said it was too small. I wonder if Will is being teased at school. Are all 3 sets of grandparents going to China? Plus the nanny and her husband? Must be costing a fortune!

7 Little Johnstons - General Discussion

My comment about Anna looking like the dad & older brother was actually from a string of posts. I am horrible with names on any of these shows & when I started watching this show, assumed Anna was the natural child because her looks are very similar to the a above mentioned & had asked about it. I see no resemblance in Elizabeth with either of her parents or brother. Regarding the parents coming down on the oldest son and his behavior, I am supportive of the discussion but not on camera. I was thinking they were trying to show the viewers 'see, we are just like any other family.' I feel between this family along with the other little people shows, we now realize family & teenage issues are the same, regardless of height. Out of respect, some things should be done off camera. Oh, that military episode where Ruthie had a pen pal? That was horribly sad that he was killed, but for the whole town to get involved? And that dance Ruthie was doing to Tom Petty, I was waiting for her to start stripping! One of the stations started from season one recently. Ruthie was so cute! I am trying to figure out when she became the entitled, self centered bitch...when did Simon become the angry, loner sex addict? They both threw their sexuality in their parents face. The later episode with Ruthie doing the 'sex dance' while dad watched then her asking him if she was sexy!? Two recent older episodes had Ruthie singing The Star Spangled Banner and Baby Face...she was so cute.

If I was paying for my kid to attend Brown Univ and found out that they were taking a course on the Kardashian's, I'd pull my kid from the school!

7 Little Johnstons - General Discussion

I think Anna looks just like the dad & older brother. Elizabeth is absolutely gorgeous. She has beautiful hair and skin. 4OFUS, I am very impressed with your daughters talent! I could not believe Elizabeth was trying to finish up paintings on the display tables right before the show. I hope Grandma Johnston did not put that fork back into the crockpot after eating the meatball! Did I understand Mother Johnston saying all of the kids were working at the No-Kill Shelter to help Anna, fulfill her community service? -
I thought there was a topic of ML's inconsistencies on the show. Yesterday, an episode was shown out of order, 'Welcome to Olseonville', was shown right after the episode where Mary Adam were married, today the episode where the blind school moves to Walnut Grove, otherwise I may not have noticed this. Rev. Alden suggests donating Lars Hansen's home to be used as the blind school since Hanson left it to the church & he's not been able to sell it. We all know what happened to the Harriet Oleson School for the Blind. A, few years later, Welcome to Olesnville, Harriet and family begin cleaning Lars Hansen's old house, where Harriet finds bonds under a broken step, which gives her major control of Walnut Grove. So,, this magic mansion must have come back from the ashes!

I was thinking the same thing. Also envisioned her begging for unused idols as someone left. I really, really hope she's next to go...please, please, please!? Feel like I have no thoughts of my own, but that's exactly what I was thinking too! And c she looked so different in her dress with her hair done. Is Kara the blonde? Add my little dog to the list who was jolted awake by my screaming, she went running to Mr Tostandon, turning to give me the 'what's wrong with you' look.

Katherine McGreggor did an amazing job with Harriet Oleson. She was a first class Prairie Bitch, but fiercely loved her kids...and in her own way, Nels. I was watching the episode the other day with the little person whose wife died in child birth & she refused to hire him at the mercantile & stopped him from getting a job at the bank. I was furious with her. I then thought that it takes a very talented artist to evoke these type of emotions on a TV character. RIP, Mrs. Oleson?

S13.E08: The Toilet Exploded!
alegtostandon replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in The Little Couple
When I was around 6-7 years old in the mid-60's, this woman who drove us to Vacation Bible School had a VW bus. She probably had 10 kids in that bus! We'd stand up in the back of the bus, swaying back & forth. When I was 8, we moved from Houston back to Chicago. My brother was 5 months old. He either was in my mom's lap or laying on the front seat between her & my dad. Will is getting too use to the cameras & attention. Whenever anyone laughs, he now demands 'why are you laughing; what are you laughing at?'. As much as I enjoyed this family when they first started, they were truly a breath of reality TV fresh air, I have to agree with those who say it has run its course. They obviously do not need the money & the kids are getting to the age where it's going to begin damaging them. We have all learned what it's like to be a little person with money...nothing left to teach us. -
Right he did say that. I guess it was a rhetorical question, lol. I was just thinking why leave a new vehicle alone in the desert instead of breaking a window...but that's rational thinking!

7 Little Johnstons - General Discussion

I am so confused! I always thought that Anna was their natural daughter and Elizabeth was adopted from Russia. Guess I've been wrong. Laws differ state to state. I live in Arizona. A house was left to me recently. It's in an area we are not interested living in so we're going to sell it. Realtor told us that we are not held to the same disclosure requirements since we have never lived in the home. I loved the way Alex overcame his fear of the bees while visions of ice cream danced in his head! (Christmas commercials are already getting to me!). -
S13.E08: The Toilet Exploded!

Those are some interesting light fixtures they chose for the playroom and Zoey's room. Guess that's the difference between a $200,000 house & a multi million dollar home. We have ceiling fans with a light fixture, lol! I thought the airplane light was pretty cool. I googled the space station light fixture, I would love that in my office! I love crepes but would prefer without the chocolate filling. That lunch looked better than most of the dinners I make. Looked like hot dogs, chicken kabobs, corn on the cob & veggie tray. I wonder why Bill doesn't use a, stool by the grill. Probably more dramatic for us to watch him trying to open/close cover with BBQ tools. -
Cable station POP, started playing BH90210, haven't watched in years. I believe it was this episode where Brenda and Stewart were driving to Palm Springs. They stopped in the desert to admire the view, Brenda went back to the Bronco (that's what it looked like) to get her sweater, not realizing Stewie Baby left the keys in the ignition, she locked the doors. He had a baby temper tantrum. They hitched a ride with an old farmer to the resort where Dad Stewart was staying. When they got a ride back to the Bronco, all of the tires were gone along with the doors. Stewart had a huge melt down, Brenda called Dylan to come save her. Never thought about this back when it first aired... Why did they not break a window to get into the vehicle instead of leaving it deserted in the desert. Why would someone go through all of the trouble to remove doors, etc when they could have stolen the whole vehicle just by breaking a window. They showed the keys in the ignition in plain sight.

Just came here to post something about the college years & started reading some of these older posts...Curlyatx, I know JG went to 2 high schools in the Phoenix area before moving to LA,, one being the HS I went to, Apollo. Which school did your hubby go to?

I have no idea where High Chaparral was suppose to be located but my sister lives in the area where the Cartwrights 'lived', on a rare occasion, it will get in the 90's, average in the summer is around 80's. Winter is cold & snowy. But, we always wonder how people lived here without AC before central air. Many had swamp coolers, water running thru a filter with a fan blowing on I it, before that, I've read people would hang wet sheets for the air to blue on. I will say this, after living in the Phoenix area for many years, it's not the 'dry' heat it use to be due to all of the buildings, concrete and pools. I'm sure Vegas is the same way. We came here from Chicago. We had to acclimate to the weather. It was more like the first winter we were here, we wore light jackets when it got down to the 50's in the winter.. The following year, we were bundling up with gloves and scarves! My experience with Florida and Hawaii (we just got back from Kauai) is getting use to the humidity. Wish I could see your little doxies! Have fun!

Here in Phoenix, Indian Fry Bread is very popular. You can get it with cheese or with honey and powdered sugar! Delicious! When we went to Oahu a few years ago, went to a place called 'The Polynesian Cultural Center', teaches you everything about all of the Polynesian Islands. Somoa was actually very interesting & their dances were amazing. Didn't Leida ask for 'chicken porridge' when she came downstairs? I drive a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 4WD truck by choice...I love it & prefer it to our new Town and Country. Living in Phoenix, which has weather very similar to Vegas, average 110 degrees in the summer, an AC is NOT a luxury...it's a necessity! I dress my little Havanese puppy, she even has a bikini and sunglasses! For Halloween, she's going to be 'the sheriff', one of those costumes where her arms look like the legs to the sheriff. Mr Tostandon & I were driving home the other day and Sasha was in her 'puppy seat', wearing her sunglasses. A guy jumped out of his truck at a stop light and took her picture! Said he was her 'puparazzi'! Especially vending machine flowers! Sorry...I usually agree with just about everything you say...but living in the Phoenix area for half my life, you don't get use to it! In fact, the older I get, the worse it gets. I do prefer the heat to the snow tho. What I don't like are stores, theatres, etc that keep their AC's set really low so you're freezing when you walk in. Even when it's 115 outside, I bring a sweater with me. We keep our AC at 82 in the summer. But, I could not imagine driving around with no AC. A local vet did a video showing within 20 minutes of being in a car with no AC running, even with windows cracked, the temp in the car jumps to 120!

Colt & Larissa & Debbie: Me, You, and Bith Phtew
alegtostandon replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
I love how she pronounces the last letter of words...Colt is 'Col-T', there were other words I can't think of right now. Living in Vegas with no A/C??? I live in Phoenix area and I don't think you can even buy a vehicle without A/C! -
I knew that girl looked familiar!

Episode from 1977. Miss Beadle assigns the kids to break into groups and put on plays based on books they are reading. Nellie pushes her way into Laura, Mary, Alicia and some new girl we've never seen before (or will ever see again), Jenny's group. Alicia is the only smart one to walk away but Jenny insists they allow Nellie in so she can see the Oleson's parlor. Nellie decides they will do Little Women. She will have her mother write the scene since she is the only person in Walnut Grove to ever see a real play. Didn't Ma and Pa go to a play that time they went away & Mr, Edwards watched the kids?

I certainly hope the while Kortney & flash dance segment is not a lead into her going on DWTS!
