@Scarlett45 We could use a thread for Jed! and Katey. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore

According to the article I shared Christine is Rulon's granddaughter. -
If you mean Jim Bakker (Tammy Faye's first husband), he's still alive and still creepy. Just last year he was in trouble for hawking for fake COVID cures. I don't much about the second husband. Topic: When does Derick finish the semester?

The courtship announcement was very brief, like one minute. Previous announcements were like a full episode and often included the man asking the woman to court. TLC hasn't acknowledged their wedding. It was filmed by an videographer with IBLP connections. If TLC does air the wedding, I have a feeling they'll buy the IBLP guy's footage from the Duggars/Spiveys.

So TLC has announced a birth special for Kendra with her daughter Brooklyn. They have yet to acknowledge Justin and Claire got married. This is highly unusual. They usually make a video right after the wedding.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore

I was just coming here to post that! I just found out on another site that this is Christine's grandfather Rulon Allred. I can't believe I found out right as y'all are talking about it. -
I have friend in Georgia. Not enough "eligible" people are making appointments, so the drug stores will take just about anyone. She got an appointment despite not being eligible. In her case she's 2.5 months younger than the minimum age and probably should qualify due to health concerns.

Absolutely. Her dad has a blog and his daughters are close-in-age from the first marriage and they both live with him and his second wife. -
Ruark is an Irish last name. Ruark is also Michelle's maiden name. It wouldn't surprise if the Ruarks were Catholics in Ireland who converted to Baptist in America several generations ago.

He is rumored to be in a courtship with Hannah Wissman. Jason and James still seem to be available. -
There were at least two times last year that seemed like Jessa was about to announce a pregnancy, so it seems likely that she did have a loss. She hasn't posted since her announcement which automatically means no attention. She needs to post more on Instagram. As for Jill, anyone can call themselves a doula. It's completely unregulated industry. Midwives, nurses, etc. have strict guidelines, but there are no requirements to being a doula. (I'm talking here in the USA, no idea about anywhere else.)

Katey's family is from Arizona, and I'm not sure if they moved or not. Her dad had a real job, where he made money. He may be retired now. He's married to his second wife, who is Katey's step mother. Katey has one sibling a sister named Lauren. Katey is older. Her father became a fundie later in life. She went to public school and started homeschooling for high school. -

Most of us are also Christians, and depending on the denomination it absolutely is set aside for specific observances. I started this and I was raised Catholic. In the Catholic church, Holy Saturday is absolutely an important liturgical day for Catholics. It's part of what used to be referred as "Triduum." This tradition has died down a little, but is still practiced by many. The article also lists other traditions that celebrate it. Obviously we're not the right kind of Christians, but many Christians practice this. It's still weird time to get married even if Holy Saturday as no significance. -

Yes that's what I have to. The registry is not easy to find. It's hidden by several codes. -

There's snow on the ground in the engagement photos, so the proposal was probably not in November. Both Jed! and Katey are 22. -

They're getting married Easter Saturday. This is strange to someone raised Catholic. -

TLC aired one episode called A Quarantine Courtship. The episode was an hour long. They litterally aired one minute of an announcement for Justin and Claire. They had a little press for the engagment and wedding, and none of this has TLC yet. It may be that TLC is one the verge of cutting the cord. -
Originally the Duggars said it was a ministry, but they haven't said that in a long time. I think the ads are basically the same ads TLC always runs. If they run special fundie ads, I don't know about that. Snarkers and leghumpers probably by the same brands when we need stuff or watch the same movie. They've been showing Counting On reruns (like Joe asking Kendra to court).

My friend's surgery went well. She was a little tired, but today she told she seems fine. Thank you for the kind wishes. @Scarlett45 I'm so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you, your mother and Cosmo. Give Cosmo a pet for me. (I have no dogs, but I really want one.) May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in power. @QuinnInND I fourth other people's recommendation to get a burner phone. I would assume anything you tell her will be passed to your mother, including your phone number. I agree it's best to start off with that you don't blame her, but you don't forgive mom either. Make sure she understands your boundaries. The best advice I can give you is really think over all the possibilities before moving forward. We care about you Quinn, and we'll be here no matter what happens.
