Chelsy Maxwell Bontrager has a new write-up of her wedding ceremony. She has done four previous writings about her wedding and just got to a long write-up of the ceremony. She was married about six months ago. I saw her wedding via live stream, but forgot things like that most of the groomsmen blew noisemakers when they kissed.

Well that's why being rich and famous are such popular fantasies.

I think Kendra and Joe are fine people, but I think it's too soon to tell what they're really going to be like. Sure Kendra seems happy-go-lucky, but really why shouldn't she be happy? She married a celebrity into a special tv golden Christian family. The family (Duggars) has money and tv so she can be famous and get to do things. They get to be filmed for the show doing fun things, like traveling, rafting on the lake while pulled by a boat, tubing in the snow, etc. She got to have a relatively nice wedding day and she probably thinks she was a princess on that day. She got pregnant, which is to be expected (pun intended). She had a relatively easy delivery and may have an easy going baby. She already knows a lot about babies and pregnancy, because she's the oldest of seven. I wish them the best, but to me Kendra comes off young and naive and a lot of her happiness comes from the fact that's she's relatively lucky for a kid her age in her situation. We'll see how things go from here, but it's relatively soon to say how they will handle setbacks, and hard times, etc.

Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
I also thought maybe she had heard the rumors, but it's not that different from the way Michelle talks JB. It's also the way JB talks about himself. -
They both look tired. Joy's smile seems more perfunctory.

Aquaria is a great looks queen, but she's also been great at the acting challenges. (I have been legit surprised at good she is.)(Eureka's breastworld and Asia's Beyonce might make Aquaria the best actress of those still here, excluding people who've been eliminated like Monet.) I did think she deserved to lip sync at least once in a few challenges, but she just barely scraped out of the bottom. As for her singing, she described herself as having a "five note range" in Cher challenge, which would be considered weak. Kameron is definitely the strongest singer and imo the strongest dancer of this top four. She doesn't have too much competition in the singing (both Monet and Blair are good singers). Her pre-electronic-ized sound was the strongest even though her voice cracked singing a little higher than she's used to. I actually think her biggest problem is she doesn't know how to take her asthetic of comic books, and video games and translate that into a narrative she can sell. Like when if she had said to Ru, when Ru asked her why she should win, she didn't mention her brand. She said "I'll show people they should never give up on themselves." But if she had said or added "Well, I'm a comic book, superhero, weight-lifting, videogame queen and I'm going to use my interests to bring new people to drag." For me that would have been a stronger answer. Asia and Eureka are both great queens with a lot of the same strengths: humor, giving good answers, turning looks, good dance skills, and a strong ability to connect with people indiviually and as an audience. I actually think Eureka would have been elminated when she lip-synced against Kameron if someone had gone home. If you want, you could watch the Pit Stop with Raja on youtube, you can see their breakdown of all the episodes.

Yes you don't need that much water to drown as long as the lungs fill with fluid. There's a weird thing called dry drowning, which I heard of happening to someone we knew a little when I was a kid. There's also an old story in my family about a car sinking in a huge puddle that I've never understood. It looks really bad. I'm glad their injuries weren't worse.

@Sew Sumi who is Cooper Dauer?

My point was it's fathers' day. It makes sense to me that since Derick and his mother's husband do not seem to have much of a father/son relationship, Derick would leave him out of the fathers' day post. Either it's a private relationship that can be acknowledged privately or it's not a very paternal relationship. Derick was an adult when they got married, and it's fine if he doesn't see his mother's husband as a father figure.
-
I don't blame Derick for not including his mother's husband. I've known other people who phrased it that or for the opposite gender (my father's wife). Stepfather implies that this man would have played a role in Derick's life like a father would, and from what I've seen, Mr. Byrum does not seem to act in anyway like a father towards Derick or his brother. Taking care of Derick's mother makes him a good spouse, but that does not make Mr. Byrum a father figure to Derick. It also could be that Mr. Byrum doesn't want public attention, but it seems more likely to me the first is true.

I have had bad experiences with car accidents. Some accidents where I was there and some accidents where I wasn't there but I lost a friend. I hope the girls are okay. Just a reminder sometimes the worst injuries on the inside, both emotionally and also physical internal injuries. Sending them positive, healing vibes.

I'm with Asia ~ Vanessa Vanjie Mateo should be the winner. "Vanjie"! I missed the minichallenge. Asia's gown is my favorite. Call Me Mother is the song they walked to in the first mini-challenge and now they're lip-syncing.

How do you know this about Kendra's family? And Austin's? Just because they're fundie, doesn't mean they're quiverfull. Michael and Debbi Pearl are definitely fundie and believe in natural family planning. (It's in for example--Born To Be His Helpmate, which was mentioned as a contentious issue by other fundies who read it . )

I hate to defend the Duggars or whoever, but I personally hate the social media condolence posts. It's too public for me, and it can look like you're looking for sympathy for yourself rather than the family if it's not your family or closest friends. Grief is often a private matter or certainly one where you want to chose who you have around you. Hopefully the Duggars reached out and made even made some food. offered some practical assistance. The Duggars are more famous than the Bates. The family* may not want a national media spotlight on them. Some stupid internet site would post some bad taste article about a Duggar friend died and here's their reaction. Editing to clarify:* By family, I don't mean the Duggars, I meant the Duggars' friends who lose their grandfather, father, sister, etc.

Yes, I meant with the world set up before this season when it was a spy show.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
Temperance replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
From what Derrick said (for what it's worth), the married also seem to be from Duggar Family LLC. Jeremy and some of the others may have gotten their own salary into their own accounts, but they may have had to negotiate that with TLC. Jana should not only have Counting On money. The money from all TLC programs should have been put in a trust for the minors and the adult family members should have their money from appearing on those shows. Jana turned 18 during the filming of 17 kids and was an adult for most of 17/18/19 Kids franchise and should have money from then. -
I don't see it as stirring the pot really. It's a pitch for relatability. It's not bad. Maybe a little long and the emojis, but probably in line with a lot of content from the mommy bloggers/vloggers. It's showing Jessa to be a smart and compassionate mother and how her boys fight and still get along. I'm sure her fans appreciated a slice of her life and a cute story. On the nursing thing, Jill nursed a long time with Israel and is probably still nursing Henry.

Space seems like .... another fantasy. Seriously? This whole season was fun, but a waste. What if any significance did it have in the real world? Who cares about space? I miss the James Bond spoof.

Since these two don't use social media much, I'm sure we'll only see the house when it is clean. That doesn't mean it's clean all the time necessarily, it could mean that they are better at staging photos. The house may not look as good after 3 kids in 4 years.
