You can shower and not wash your hair. In fact if you take daily showers that can be a good idea, because that way you don't strip your hair of natural oils. Jill may be showering daily, but only washing her hair once or twice a week. I could see fundies being into not washing their hair too much, because it saves money.

Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink

I didn't see anything. -
So now it's seven months and no announcement.

Emma's style reminds me of Rachel Maddow and I find that a little endearing. "Women need to meet men head on, not seduce them." Katharine Hepburn Today I missed a lot of questions.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Temperance replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Also being the only kid married for most of the series gave Josh a lot more airtime. -
One of the books Jill recommends is His Needs, Her Needs: Building an Affair Proof Marriage by Willard F. Harley. Based on the reviews, he spends more time on "affair proofing" and his needs. He tells you to have sex 3-4 times a week. He tells her to make sure you look sexy./beautiful/attractive for your husband. If you don't fulfill your husband's needs, an affair will occur. Here are the needs according to gender: "A Wife’s Top Five Needs o Affection o Intimate Conversation o Honesty and Openness o Financial Support o Family Commitment A Husband’s Top Five Needs o Sexual Fulfillment o Recreational Companionship o Physical Attractiveness o Domestic Support o Admiration" Sound familar? It fits the Duggars worldview too much so JB and Michelle probably read it too.

Actually the "sandwich metaphor" is something the snarkers use. What Michelle said was "anyone can make him a sandwich, but only the woman/you/she can be there for his/the husband's special need for intimacy or his one special need." She said this multiple times and the phrasing changed a little each time. However the term she used for sex was "need". Either his "one special need"or "need for intimacy". Sandwich making was never a euphemism by Michelle. The point was anyone can satisfy the nonsexual needs a man has like ironing his shirt, or making him a sandwich, but only the wife can fulfill his need for intimacy. The snarkers used "sandwich making" as a euphemism. JB has used to use "working on #20" as euphemism for sex on 19 K&C.

People have different takes on a champion. Some people like watching them play and watching them win. Some people do not enjoy the super champions and tune-in specifically to see them lose. I think that's why it was leaked. But bravo to everyone, Emma, James, and the middle contestant! Alex said that was one of the best games ever played. Few mistakes, only one TS (cigarette tax), and they cleared the board. Really, really well played. On a normal day, even that guy in the middle could have won!

This picture was taken at Easter, and Jessa says it's the first picture they took together. It could just mean that there is another picture after all the babies are born or that the same group took another picture. There's speculation that there's another picture coming with at least one more Duggar woman in it.

@Lunera Is that from Instagram or Twitter or something else?
-
I can't. There's a screenshot of Jill replying to someone on Twitter? Instagram? (not sure). She says something to the effect of she loves sex. It's floating around the internet if you care to look for it. I wouldn't be surprised if Jill is the one who initiates a lot of their intimacy.

I consider the Duggars Christian, because they talk about Jesus and reading the bible and generally identify themselves as Christian. In the Youth for Christ Conference video, they clearly state that they're Baptists although I would agree there's a difference between IFB baptists and other Baptists. I dislike the fact the Duggars are quick to decide who gets to be Christian and who doesn't, but it seems just as discriminatory to say the Duggars are not Christians. As for the Catholics, I am Catholic. The Catholic Church believes a lot of things that have nothing to do with the gospel. For example the ban on birth control, or the infallibility of the Pope etc.

Maybe it's too liberal. There's stuff about family planning or birth control in there. I know, because Chelsy Bontrager Maxwell was reading it before she married. It was the one thing she disagreed with. (She mentioned this in the comments in her blog.)

The whole thing reeks of Michelle. And Jill wrote it. And then Cathy's comment which seems to throw Rick under the bus "I treated him the way I wanted my sons' future wives to treat them." What! You couldn't just be nice to him, beause you loved and respected him or because you wanted him to treat you a certain way. As for the contents itself, you're supposed to arrange your whole life/marriage around your husband and pleasing him. It doesn't matter if the house is a mess and the boys are bored, it matters that you smell nice. Anyone can make him a sandwich.... If you're tracking someone's phone, it's an invasion of privacy. I can see with all the things you're doing for them why it's important to to remember you're not a parent to your spouse and they aren't your parent. Finally Jill put this bible quote in her essay “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Yes, you should love God with your mind and think through the advice other people have given you, rather than blindly following or repeating it.

I'm getting ads for realistic baby dolls on this site. I googled this company and the doll they picked for me is good for old people with Alzheimers and dementia. I'm thirty-something. What the heck!

Dr. Paine (father of Tabitha and Chad) and Gil Bates are on the board of IBLP. For years they (Gil and Dr. Paine) helped cover up the sexual misconduct of Bill Gothard, who molested as many as 34 women and teenage girls. Eventually some of the women broke free of the cult and made allegations. Dr. Paine and Gil kicked Bill Gothard off the board to make IBLP more palatable. They also may have increased salaries from getting rid of Gothard. Paine, Bates, and IBLP been trying to distance themselves from Gothard ever since. Make it look a good organization. Erin Bates Paine said she no longer follows Gothard, but she's IBLP. It's just Gothard isn't there. When Tabitha's husband proposed, I believe the Duggars were involved. It does seem possible that they didn't know about her husband's past. Since it became public knowledge, that her husband was a sex offender, everyone has been trying to distance themselves. The Duggars don't acknowledge them publically. The Bates try to keep a very public friendly for the good of their show. They barely acknowledge IBLP even though Gil is on the board and they're still actively involved in the organization. (They just spoke at Big Sandy.) They are trying to distance themselves from anything scandalous including Gothard, Tabitha Paine's husband Tim, etc. The Paines are on the board of IBLP. Both Dr. Paine and Gil Bates want to make IBLP more viable so they're trying downplay anything scandalous, like an in-law with a criminal record. Basically everyone thought the marriage was a good idea in the beginning, and everyone has PR reasons now to hide Tabitha and Tim in the background.

Erin is recycling her MoH dress from Carlin's wedding up above. Chad's family keeps Tabitha in the background for the most part. One of Chad's brothers posted a photo of the whole family a few months ago. (I'm thinking it was around February?). (I saw this photo while lurking at FJ.) Tabitha and her husband were in the photo. It was hard to tell if she wasn't pregnant, but she had not had a baby yet. (They had been married atleast 18 months when the photo was taken. FJ knew this, because of how many babies in the photo.) Besides his older sister Tabitha, Chad has three other sisters, one of whom married last year and one seems to have gotten married this weekend.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah

Both Called to Surf and Citrus and Lemon are LDS companies based in Utah. I got this info from a Tumblr account called FundiesbytheDozen fundie snark. Called to Surf apparently has a boutique store in Provo, Utah. I guess you can surf the Great Salt Lake; otherwise why would there be a company called Called to Surf from Utah? (The Beach Boys led me to believe you need an ocean.)
